  • WPF toolkit DataGrid show filds even with browsable attribute set to false

    Hi Hi have an observable collection that I bind to a DataGrid using the itemsource property of the DataGrid. All the properties of the class inside the collection are displayed properly in the DataGrid. Now, I want to hide some fields to the DataGrid using the browsable attribute [Browsable(false)] in the class. It works well in winforms, but it seems not working in WPF. Someone knows why? I can hide the columns later, but I don't want to loss performance in this way. Is there any other solution? Thanks.

    In my objective-c program, I need to open a URL in Safari no matter what the system's default browser is. That means that this won't work, because it could launch Firefox or whatever other browser: NSWorkspace * ws = [NSWorkspace sharedWorkspace]; [ws openURL: url]; I think I'm close with this: [ws launchAppWithBundleIdentifier: @"com.apple.Safari" options: NSWorkspaceLaunchWithoutActivation additionalEventParamDescriptor: NULL launchIdentifier: nil]; only need to figure out how to pass in the URL as parameter... Is there an easier way? Thanks!

  • Chrome not displaying Class set by jQuery or a Direct CSS property

    This might seem like a bit of a design/css question but i really need some help. This is the page http://library.permilia.com/Gavin/version2.0_beta/lead.html It works on every browsers imaginable except chrome. By it works i mean it applies a class .error that sets the borders to 1px solid #f00 which is a red border. In chrome for some reason you cannot change it no matter what! Anybody got any ideas?

    I am trying to check if a lhs is already abbreviated in vim. mapcheck, however, seems to have a problem. For example, iabbr swt switch echo mapcheck('sw','i',1) returns "switch" even when "switch" defined for "swt". mapargs seem to return a string even if there is a partial match with the lhs. Is there a way to find if an abbreviation has been defined for the "exact" match, i.e., the above mapcheck returning a "" instead.

  • Inputs inside ListView doesn't change values from old to recently set on ItemUpdating event

    Hi, I would appreciate if someone help me to understand this situation. I do not know why but when i edit selected ListView item (containing few TextBoxes) and then press Update button in the ItemUpdating event i always get old values instead of those which were typed recently. Why? I do not use Page_Load event so i do not need check on PostBack I try to get value before i bind data from DB to ListView, so it can't override recently typed values I tried to get TextBoxes values in different Event handlers - ItemCommand, ItemUpdating, ItemDataBound - result si always the same Collection NewValues and OldValues are always empty (i think this is because i don't use SqlDataSource control) The only one way i can get new values - is to check Request, but in this case i can't use control validators ... so probably it is bad idea to work with only request.     In my form I have a hidden field: <input type="hidden" name="auth_token" value="<?php echo $auth_token; ?>"> This value is also stored in a session and a variable: $_SESSION['auth_token'] = hash('sha256', rand() . time() . $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']); # TODO: put this in a function $auth_token = $_SESSION['auth_token']; When the form is submitted the two values are compared. It's a basic form token. Should this be made into two functions or just one when refactored? set_form_token() and get_form_token(), get_form_token() returning the session value, then I can compare it in my main code. What is the proper way of doing this?

  • naming a function that exhibits "set if not equal" behavior

    This might be an odd question, but I'm looking for a word to use in a function name. I'm normally good at coming up with succinct, meaningful function names, but this one has me stumped so I thought I'd appeal for help. The function will take some desired state as an argument and compare it to the current state. If no change is needed, the function will exit normally without doing anything. Otherwise, the function will take some action to achieve the desired state. For example, if wanted to make sure the front door was closed, i might say: my_house.<something>_front_door('closed') What word or term should use in place of the something? I'd like it to be short, readable, and minimize the astonishment factor. A couple clarifying points... I would want someone calling the function to intuitively know they didn't need to wrap the function an 'if' that checks the current state. For example, this would be bad: if my_house.front_door_is_open(): my_house.<something>_front_door('closed') Also, they should know that the function won't throw an exception if the desired state matches the current state. So this should never happen: try: my_house.<something>_front_door('closed') except DoorWasAlreadyClosedException: pass Here are some options I've considered: my_house.set_front_door('closed') my_house.setne_front_door('closed') # ne=not equal, from the setne x86 instruction my_house.ensure_front_door('closed') my_house.configure_front_door('closed') my_house.update_front_door('closed') my_house.make_front_door('closed') my_house.remediate_front_door('closed') And I'm open to other forms, but most I've thought of don't improve readability. Such as... my_house.ensure_front_door_is('closed') my_house.conditionally_update_front_door('closed') my_house.change_front_door_if_needed('closed') Thanks for any input!

    I have been working on this for about 2 days, so i thought i share my learnings with you. The question is: Is it possible to make the width of a cell in a grouped UITableView smaller? The answer is: No. But there are two ways you can get around this problem. Solution #1: A thinner table It is possible to change the frame of the tableView, so that the table will be smaller. This will result in UITableView rendering the cell inside with the reduced width. A solution for this can look like this: -(void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { CGFloat tableBorderLeft = 20; CGFloat tableBorderRight = 20; CGRect tableRect = self.view.frame; tableRect.origin.x += tableBorderLeft; // make the table begin a few pixels right from its origin tableRect.size.width -= tableBorderLeft + tableBorderRight // reduce the width of the table tableView.frame = tableRect; } Solution #2: Having cells rendered by images This solution is described here: http://cocoawithlove.com/2009/04/easy-custom-uitableview-drawing.html I hope this information is helpful to you.     I'm kind of on the right track, however my output is not quite right. The program asks for the number of integers you have and then it asks for those numbers. For an example is says please enter the number of integers, you can put 3. And then you enter 3 numbers. I can't use arrays because I am a beginner student and we have not learned those yet. Using count is the only way that allows me to input integers. What do I need to add to my program? Again I am a general computer science student so I can't use anything advanced.     I'm trying to integrate a script file hosted by a third party into a new web site. So, for the sake of best practice, I want to provide alternative content if the external script takes longer than e.g. 10 seconds to load. How do I achieve this? I've looked at JavaScript's native setTimeout(), as well as jQuery's delay() function, but I'm not sure which I should use--or how. Grateful for any suggestions.

    Hi, I thought what I was trying to do is quite simple, but apparently nothing related to IE is ever simple. I'm using this with javascript and ajax - document.getElementById("calender").innerText=mypostrequest.responseText it works fine in ff and IE7, but not IE8. I suspect it's because the text contains a table, since I have tested it with other text. I cant replace the table. Is there any way to get around this?
