• Provider<HttpSession> not getting injected

  I am using gwt dispatch to communicate and get data from server to client. In order to get user specific data I want to store the user object in httpsession and access application specific data from servlet context but when I inject Provider<HttpSession> when the handler execute is called but the dispatchservlet the provider is null i.e it does not get injected. following is the code from my action handler @Inject Provider<HttpSession> provider;   Hi folks, I am building a simple application in JSF with the CrUD functionality. I am trying to implement edit functionality using the tomahawk component .I am unable to retrieve the selected row in my backing bean.   I'm sorry I can't be any more specific - I have no idea where the problem is. I'm a total beginner, and I've added everything I know to add to the coding, but nothing happens when I push the button. I don't know at this point if it's an error in the coding, or a syntax error that makes it not work. Basically I am trying to get this function "Rip It" to go through the list of Dewey decimal numbers, change some of them, and return the new number and a message saying it's been changed. There is also one labeled "no number" that has to return an error (not necessarily an alert box, a message in the same space is okay.) I am a total beginner and not particularly good at this stuff, so please be gentle! • Problem with Global Array in PHP

  Hi guys,, need some help pls.. i have a PHP code here that lets a user send a message to multiple recipients using the "phonebook" (from database) as the main list. I used an array to temporarily hold all the desired recipients for the current user. So I have a two box, with each for displaying. The user will clicks the name from the phonebook lisy and clicks "Add" button to add on the temporary list on the other select box. • Why Do I See the "In Recovery" Msg, and How Can I Prevent it?

  The project I'm working on creates a local copy of the SQL Server database for each SVN branch you work on. We're running SQL Server 2008 Express with Advanced Services on our local machine to host it. When we create a new branch, the build script will create a new database with the ID of that branch, creates the schema objects, and copies over a selection of data from the production shadow server. After the database is created, it, or other databases on the local machine, will often go into "In Recovery" mode for several minutes. After several refreshes it comes up and is happy, but will occasionally go back into "In Recovery" mode. The database is created in simple recovery mode. The file names aren't specified, so it uses default paths for files. The size of the database after loading data is ~400 megs. It is running in SQL Server 2005 compatibility mode. The command that creates the database is: sqlcmd -S $(DBServer) -Q "IF NOT EXISTS (SELECT [name] FROM sysdatabases WHERE [name] = '$(DBName)') BEGIN CREATE DATABASE [$(DBName)]; print 'Created $(DBName)'; END" ...where $(DBName) and $(DBServer) are MSBuild parameters. I got a nice clean log file this morning. When I turned on my computer it starts all five databases. However, two of them show transactions being rolled forward and backwards.   There are two similar namespaces and assemblies for speech recognition in .NET. I’m trying to understand the differences and when it is appropriate to use one or the other. There is System.Speech.Recognition from the assembly System.Speech (in System.Speech.dll). System.Speech.dll is a core DLL in the .NET Framework class library 3.0 and later There is also Microsoft.Speech.Recognition from the assembly Microsoft.Speech (in microsoft.speech.dll). Microsoft.Speech.dll is part of the UCMA 2.0 SDK I find the docs confusing and I have the following questions: System.Speech.Recognition says it is for "The Windows Desktop Speech Technology", does this mean it cannot be used on a server OS or cannot be used for high scale applications? The UCMA 2.0 Speech SDK ( http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd266409%28v=office.13%29.aspx ) says that it requires Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 as a prerequisite. However, I’ve been told at conferences and meetings that if I do not require OCS features like presence and workflow I can use the UCMA 2.0 Speech API without OCS. Is this true? If I’m building a simple recognition app for a server application (say I wanted to automatically transcribe voice mails) and I don’t need features of OCS, what are the differences between the two APIs?

I added Prerequisites like: .NET 3.5, Microsoft office interoperability, VS tools for office System 3.0 Run time, .etc. After that Selected "Download Prerequisite from Same location as my application" in Specify install location for Prerequisite. Build the setup. I can find mysetup.msi in Release directory. In new Machine I started fresh installation of my application... While Clicking the mySetup.msi. Dialog shows like this " This Setup Requires .NET framework 3.5 , Please install .NET setup then run this setup, .NET Framework can be obtained from web Do you want to do that now?" it gives "yes" no option - if I press YES it goes microsoft website. How can avoid it ? I wanted setup take .NET Framework to be installed from same location where I put all setup files including mysetup.msi ? In case of Quite installation cmd /c "msiexec /package mysetup.msi /quiet /log install.log" ..in log I can see only half way through installtion then error Property(S): HideFatalErrorForm = TRUE MSI (s) (D0:24) [00:07:08:015]: Product: my product-- Installation failed. === Logging stopped: 3/23/2010 0:07:08 === so how can complete the installation without user intervention and without error using VS2008 setup project thanks for all the help in advance for any input.

  in Canada, website SSL certificates can be had for as low as US$10. unfortunately, code signing certificates cost about 10 time as much, one website mentions Vista compatibility ... this seems strange because my assumption is they must support XP, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2003, and Server 2008 or they would be useless. https://secure.ksoftware.net/code_signing.html US$99 Support Platforms Microsoft Authenticode. Sign any Microsoft executable format (32 and 64 bit EXE, DLL, OCX, DLL or any Active X control). Signing hardware drivers is not currently supported. Abode AIR. Sign any Adobe AIR application. Java. Sign any JAR applet Microsoft Office. Sign any MS Office Macro or VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) file. Mozilla. Sign any Mozilla Object file. The implication is that a single code signing certificate can do ALL of the above. ksoftware actually discounts Commodo certificates and the Commode website is unclear. QUESTION: Will ONE code signing certificate be enough or do I need one for Microsoft executables, and a second for things like Word and Excel macros? my main goal is to sign things like vs2008 code snippets so that I can export them securely; however, I would like to be able to use the same code signing certificate for signing other items too. • Development Environment in a VM against an isolated development/test network

  I currently work in an organization that forces all software development to be done inside a VM. This is for a variety of risk/governance/security/compliance reasons. The standard setup is something like: VMWare image given to devs with tools installed VM is customized to suit project/stream needs VM sits in a network & domain that is isolated from the live/production network SCM connectivity is only possible through dev/test network Email and office tools need to be on live network so this means having two separate desktops going at once Heavyweight dev tools in use on VMs so they are very resource hungry Some problems that people complain about are: Development environment runs slower than normal (host OS is windows XP so memory is limited) Switching between DEV machine and Email/Office machine is a pain, simple things like cut and paste are made harder. This is less efficient from a usability perspective. Mouse in particular doesn't seem to work properly using VMWare player or RDP. Need a separate login to Dev/Test network/domain Has anyone seen or worked in other (hopefully better) setups to this that have similar constraints (as mentioned at the top)? In particular are there viable options that would remove the need for running stuff in a VM altogether?

• What tools/techniques can benefit a solo developer?

  Hello, I am a solo developer, working in a very small web development firm. There is occasional support for development from contractors, but for the most part, if code is written in the office, I am writing it. Many of the articles and such on here talk extensively about the tools and techniques used for collaboration of developers in teams, but that is a non-issue with me, as there is no one to (technically) collaborate with. Yet, I feel that in many ways, there are things that could be adjusted for efficiency. Our small office doesn't participate in many of the meetings/team constructions that most of the techniques rely heavily upon....we mostly just walk around and talk to one another when something is needed. This works great for all of the Just-In-Time, 15 minute fix stuff that probably populates 50% of my day, but I am also constantly working on major projects that require my total concentration, and between a flurry of tiny fixes, and being the primary admin on the 4-6 servers that we own, I find it almost impossible to get real, heavy lifting done. What suggestions can you some of you offer to help me/us become more productive/efficient, without adopting all of the corporate/teamwork practices that we are trying desperately to avoid? At what cost for efficiency is our total relaxation?

• Detecting which MCUs to connect on an incoming conference

  Hello, SO. I'm working with the OCS UCCAPI, developing a custom OCS client. I'm currently having a hard time detecting what "kind" of Conference my client is being invited to. Using the Office Communicator client, I can start "IM conferences" (by inviting more than 1 person and selecting "start a IM conversation") or "video conferences" (by selecting more than 1 person and selecting "start a video call"). The Office Communicator client, on the invitees' end, starts correctly the appropriate session (just IM, just Video or IM+Video). However, when receiving the conference invite on my custom client, there's no data about the kind of session I'm being invited. I need this information, in order to make a decision whether or not to connect to the AV MCU and capture/show video. I've tried already: When handling _IUccSessionManagerEvents.OnIncomingSession, parse the RemoteSessionDescription property on the UccIncomingInvitationEvent object: no luck, the only data about the conference modality is an element on the XML about the IM being enabled or not (<im available="true"> or <im available="false">), but nothing about the session having video available or not. When handling _IUccConferenceSessionEvents.OnEnter, check the Media property on the UccConferenceSession. Don't work, all media types are present (MESSAGE, AUDIO, VIDEO, DATA e TELEPHONY), regardless of the type of conference I'm being invited. Also when handling _IUccConferenceSessionEvents.OnEnter, check the Entities collection on the UccConferenceView object, to check which MCUs are enabled for this conference. Don't work either, all MUCs are listed as available (IM, AV, DATA and CONTROL), regardless of the type of conference I'm being invited. I'm running out of ideas.   Hi gurus, I am trying to call a telephone number fro my PC through my ip phone once my application completes its work. So I am searching for a way to access my ip phone from my PC. Please correct me if I am wrong or missing the obvious. On my PC in office selecting a phone in Microsoft office communicator and making calls from PC through my Cisco IP Phone is disabled. Is there any way i can programmatically call a external phone or mobile number from my PC as my ip phone is connected to my PC. I tried out etQuickDial and Make/Drop calls. But I am not able to find the appropriate way or setup to make calls. I also googled for any libraries and i saw some TAPI but was not able to get correct way. Please help me out with this. My cisco ip phone is 7940. My environment is Windows XP. Please let me know if you need more details. No problems with me even if you propose a solution involving coding or a non coding way of downloading and installing any applications. Thanks in advance. If you dont want me to post it here and If I need to put it in super user or server fault or some where else please direct me appropriately.
