    A couple of days ago , I was practicing and I wrote some triggers like these : create trigger trg_preventionDrop on all server for drop_database as print 'Can not Drop Database' rollback tran go create trigger trg_preventDeleteTable on database for drop_table as print 'you can not delete any table' rollback tran But the problem is I don't know where it has saved and How can I delete or edit those.     I have a SQL Server 2012 Sequence object: /****** Create Sequence Object ******/ CREATE SEQUENCE TestSeq START WITH 1 INCREMENT BY 1; I have a SP that runs some queries inside a transaction: BEGIN TRAN SELECT NEXT VALUE FOR dbo.TestSeq <here all the query update code......> ROLLBACK TRAN If the transaction fails all the updates are rolledback without problem but the Sequence is not rolled back I guess because Its out of the scope of the transaction.   • Equivalent of phpMyAdmin for MSSQL?

    Is there any webinterface for administrating MSSQL similar to phpMyAdmin (for MySQL)? I want a self-service setup where developers can create a database through webinterface and upload/download backups of the database without local access. I've considered phpMSAdmin, but it hasn't had a release since 2006 so I'm not sure its worth the effort of setting it up. If there is something else (free or not-so-free) that would be great. My question is similar to this one posted 2 years ago, but no good webinterface was found back then. SQL Web Data Administrator seems interesting, but it lacks a few features - most notably creating new databases (also, not updated since 2007).

    What I'm trying to achieve is in the following infrastructure: Server A running ADDS, DNS, DHCP, NPS LAN -Computer Client I -Computer Client II Server A NIC 1 goes to LAN Server A NIC 2 goes to Internet Server A provides DHCP and Internet access for Computer Clients How do I connect to Computer Client I or II through RDP from outside the network? Even when using credentials from Computer Client I (which are not in ADDS) the connection still only goes to the server.

    Hi, I'm using Sql Server 2005 and i'm trying to achieve something like: In the same select statement i want to get the first x rows and the last x rows. SELECT TOP(5) BOTTOM(5) Of course 'bottom' does not exist so i need other solution. I believe there is an easy and elegant solution that i'm not getting. Doing the select again with Group By Desc is not an option. Thanks.

  • Exchange-Server Query

    First, a little background. I've recently been taken on as a web and software developer for a small company, who has no other in-house IT support. They've been asking my opinion on lots of IT subjects that are quite far out of my comfort zone. I'm definitely not a network admin. Their IT consultancy contractor is pushing them to upgrade their dedicated exchange server, even though it seems like the one they currently have has a lot of life left in it and is running problem free. They say it's "coming to the natural end of it's life". They want to install a monster with a Xeon E5-2420, 32GB RAM, 2x 1TB HDDs, Windows Server 2012 and Microsoft Exchange 2010. They want to charge a small fortune for it. Basically, this system seems massively over the top seeing as it won't be doing anything else other than running as an exchange server for a company with less than 25 email accounts. My employers also have a file server system in-house that hosts three web apps, an SQL server, their local domain, print server and shared folders. That machine is using the same specs as the proposed new one, and it is barely using any of it's potential. I asked if Microsoft Exchange 2010 could be installed on their file server, but they said that MS Exchange can't run on the same system as an SQL server because for some reason they will eat up each others resources (even though the SQL server isn't touching 1% of the current system's CPU or RAM). My question is really, are they trying to rip my employers off? Could MS Exchange be installed on their other server (on a virtual instance or not), or does the old one even need replacing at all? Going with their current suggestion will cost the company in excess of £6k, and it seems entirely unnecessary. I apologies, because I know this is probably a little thin on details, but if I carry on I could end up writing a massive essay that no-one will want to read. I've been doing my research, but I'm not knowledgeable enough make any hard decisions. Let me know if you need any more details. Thank you for any help you can offer. Further Details: The new exchange would need to support Outlook Web App, 25 users, a few public mailboxes, and email exchange with Blackberries.

  • Remote Postgresql - extremely slow

    Hi, I have setup PostgreSQL on a VPS I own - the software that accesses the database is a program called PokerTracker. PokerTracker logs all your hands and statistics whilst playing online poker. I wanted this accessible from several different computers so decided to installed it on my VPS and after a few hiccups I managed to get it connecting without errors. However, the performance is dreadful. I have done tons of research on 'remote postgresql slow' etc and am yet to find an answer so am hoping someone is able to help. Things to note: The query I am trying to execute is very small. Whilst connecting locally on the VPS, the query runs instantly. While running it remotely, it takes about 1 minute and 30 seconds to run the query. The VPS is running 100MBPS and then computer I'm connecting to it from is on an 8MB line. The network communication between the two is almost instant, I am able to remotely connect fine with no lag whatsoever and am hosting several websites running MSSQL and all the queries run instantly, whether connected remotely or locally so it seems specific to PostgreSQL. I'm running their newest version of the software and the newest compatible version of PostgreSQL with their software. The database is a new database, containing hardly any data and I've ran vacuum/analyze etc all to no avail, I see no improvements. I don't understand how MSSQL can query almost instantly yet PostgreSQL struggles so much. I am able to telnet to the post 5432 on the VPS IP with no problems, and as I say the query does execute it just takes an extremely long time. What I do notice is on the router when the query is running that hardly any bandwidth is being used - but then again I wouldn't expect it to for a simple query but am not sure if this is the issue. I've tried connecting remotely on 3 different networks now (including different routers) but the problem remains. Connecting remotely via another machine via the LAN is instant. I have also edited the postgre conf file to allow for more memory/buffers etc but I don't think this is the problem - what I am asking it to do is very simple - it shouldn't be intensive at all.   • Printer redirection on server 2003

    On windows server 2003 when one user connects to the server via RDP the default printer of the server for her profile does not change to the redirected printer of the session. This only happens with the one user all the other users default printers defaults to their session printer automatically. I tried the following solution but there was no \Terminal Server\Printer Redirection in gpedit.msc http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731963(v=ws.10).aspx Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Terminal Services\Terminal Server\Printer Redirection Is there a different place to check the Printer Redirection?

  • How to Enable Full-Text Index on Sql Server 2008 Table

I have a Sql Server 2008 database that I need to be able to do full-text indexing/searching but when I try to setup my indices on the table, I get the following: I've tried running this stored procedure on my database and it's successful: EXEC sp_fulltext_database @action = 'enable' But I still get the above window and my full-text searches don't return any results when they should. What am I missing?

  • Windows 8 / Server 2012 RDP connection is slow

    I recently installed Windows Server 2012 for development purposes at our office and noticed immediately that connecting via RDP is slow. It can take 5-10 seconds to connect at times, where as connecting to any of our Win7 or Win2008R2 boxes takes at most 1-3 seconds. At first, I chalked this up to the box itself needing a driver update or something, but just yesterday, I installed Win8 on my desk PC and connecting from home to that machine produces the same result. There is a 3-4 second pause at "securing remote connection" and then again at "configuring remote session". I don't see any warnings in the event log, and once connected, there do not appear to be any performance issues. Is there a known problem with RDP connections on Windows 8 systems? Anything I should look for?
