• A way to search form table in MySQL database.

  I looked for a way to scan database for a specific table. For example i have: Database: system_ultimate Table: system_settings And let us say, that one doesn't know precise name of the table. He only knows, that it is some how connected to word settings. How could he search for that table name then? I understand, that usually people who develop know, what they develop, but I'm trying to get hang of MVC and I'm trying to stay as far away as possible from direct communication with table using the name. I know, that to see all tables I could use SHOW TABLES;

• Timeout loading application on GAE using web2py

  I am uploading an app to GAE. Through some experimentation I've found that if I don't include wsgihandler.py, the app loads very slowly. It feels like it's looking for this file and them timing out. Besides the slow loading, everything works perfectly without wsgihandler.py, so I want to know if there is a simple way to remove the references to the file. I tried poking around the files, but it doesn't look like there are direct references. Also, I asked before what I need at a minimum to get an application to work, and I found that I need: web2py/app.yaml web2py/gaehandler.py web2py/VERSION web2py/gluon/* (and subfolders, this is web2py) web2py/applications/theoneappyouwanttodeploy/* (and subfolders)

• CSS float problems, works in IE, doesn't work in Chrome/FF.. I'm probably doing something wrong

  I'm not terribly well-versed in CSS.. and don't know all of the major quirks yet. Maybe someone can help me. I've set up an image showing my code, a diagram of my DIVs, and examples of how it looks in IE versus Chrome/FF Can someone direct me to the proper way to go about this? It works fine in IE, but in Chrome and FF, one of the images is escaping its container, and the "content block" as I call it is going underneath the image it's supposed to be next to. Each of the components has a css class despite my diagram saying there's no css.. currently there's just some basic styling for those (padding, text-indent, etc). Thank you

• Callback exception/error handling for ASP TreeView OnTreeNodePopulate?

  We're using an asp:TreeView configured with lazy loading. The callback method assigned for OnTreeNodePopulate throws an exception if the user has been logged out since the page was loaded. What we want to do is to direct the user to the login page. First attempt was to catch the exception on the server and try Response.Redirect(...), but that doesn't work because you can't redirect within a callback. I've tried various other approaches, including using ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(...) but that doesn't seem to work for OnTreeNodePopulate. If there was some way we could hook into the callback event handling on the client side then it would be easy, but the TreeView doesn't seem to offer anything here. Suggestions?

• delphi finalizalization code in a DLL

  I am moving some functions to a shared DLL (I want to have some called as a Windows hook). The actual functions are currently in a unit, and it happens to have some initialization and some finalization code. I was initially thinking on doing a direct transformation from a unit to a library. So I moved the initialization code in between the main begin and end.. But then I realized I had no place to move the finalization code. I should create and register an special DLL entry point, instead. My question is. Can I leave the unit with all the functions and the initialization and finalization codes and just create a library stub that uses the unit? will the finalizationit be called?

• Reading a bmp file and inverting it in C

  I have an assignment that deals with reading a bmp file into memory, inverts the pixels, and then saves the inverted image to a new file. From this description it seems fairly easy, however I don't think my professor did a great job in explaining the necessary steps to go about doing so. He taught us about fread and fwrite but there is so much more. Can anyone explain the process in going about this problem (I'm no looking for a direct answer just an explanation). • Secure method for linking to image files uploaded via custom CMS

  How does one provide a direct URL for an image file (JPEG) that is secure? For example, if a PHP script writes uploaded images to directory http://www.somehost.com/images, is it okay to provide http://www.somehost.com/images/someimage.jpg as the URL, or is there a more secure way to do this? Should I look into something like the permalink feature that is a part of Wordpress? I am not sure if that is related. The main reason I ask is that I have a custom PHP/MySQL CMS for managing images. I would like for the client to be able to copy a link to the image they want and then include it in a TinyMCE text editor for inserting the image in their website. Thanks!

  I have an application with set limits on subscription attributes i/e a user can have five projects for subscription A but have ten for subscription B At present I run a check on there current usage when linking to the create action and if they are over there limit I do not display the link to create a new project. On the view (for the new project ) I again run the check (in a helper) to see if they can create a new project and if they are not I display a message stating so and a little upgrade link. Is this a secure method of stopping a user bypassing there subscription attribute limitations ? What about direct PUT requests etc ?

  I'm building a site with a hashchange on wordpress, all working good. It just loads a single.php template file into a div. The problem is that i can still access my single url (http://www.mydomain.com/my-single-post). Since its not having any head and style tags with it, i don't want people to go over there. Also google has picked up the direct links, because I use the href attribute to load content into the div. So my question is: If someone clicks a link lets say in a forum, http://www.mydomain.com/my-single-post , is it possible to redirect him instantly to http://www.mydomain.com/#my-single-post ? I have researched that it has something to do with .htaccess, but I also have Pages, where i don't want the hash infront of the page-name.

• Book Recomendations: WPF/Silverlight for Business(smallish, internal) Environment

  Yes, I know there are an insane amount of Book posts here(SO) but none I believe for my specific need. If there is and I missed it I apologize. I am the only developer at a non-profit organization(~200 employees) where we are a M$ shop and 90% of the things I develop are specific to our company and are internal only. I am given a lot of latitude on how I accomplish my goals so using new technologies is in my best interest. So far I have developed all winform & asp.net applications but I am an expert by NO MEANS. I would now like to focus on XAML driven development(WPF & Silverlight) but I have no idea where to start. I am subscribed to numerous Silverlight blogs and I have went through a few good tutorials however, I would really appreciate a GOOD SOLID book in my hands going forward. I prefer learning books versus reference books and I REALLY would like one from a Business standpoint as well. Shameless, self-promoting is welcomed if you happen to be an author or reviewer for one that meets my criteria. I would, however, prefer that recomendations were based on first-hand experience(no, 'my friend as this awesome book he told me about', please).   Currently I sell a program, that accesses my webpage. The program is HWID (Hard Ware ID) locked, and the only reason I use the program to access the webpage instead of direct access via a webbrowser, is so that I can use HWID authentication. However, I've just been told I can code a script to get computer information, such as hardware ID etc. Is this actually possible completely server-side? If so, can I do it with PHP? If not, what language would this be, and what functions would I have to look into for this?

  I've successfully followed some instructions online to get our plain url to direct to the content found in a subfolder (drupaldev) so that when you enter any url for that site even without the subdirectory name, it serves the correct page. However, I cannot figure out how to remove the internal links on the site that reference the '/drupaldev/' subdirectory. • Why load increase ,ssd iops increase but cpu iowait decrease?

  There is a strange thing on my server which has a mysql running on it. The QPS is more than 4000 but TPS is less than 20. The server load is more than 80 and cpu usr is more than 86% but iowait is less than 8%. The disk iops is more than 16000 and util of disk is more than 99%. When the QPS decreases, the load decreases, the cpu iowait increases.
