• How do I make solr/jetty find the installed slf4j jars in Ubuntu 12.04?

  I'm running Ubuntu 12.04's packaged Jetty in which I installed solr 4.3.1 (by copying the war file to /var/lib/jetty/webapps. When I start Jetty, I get this error: failed SolrRequestFilter: org.apache.solr.common.SolrException: Could not find necessary SLF4j logging jars. If using Jetty, the SLF4j logging jars need to go in the jetty lib/ext directory. The package libslf4j-java is installed, and the jars are in /usr/share/java: /usr/share/java/log4j-over-slf4j.jar /usr/share/java/slf4j-api.jar /usr/share/java/slf4j-jcl.jar /usr/share/java/slf4j-jdk14.jar /usr/share/java/slf4j-log4j12.jar /usr/share/java/slf4j-migrator.jar /usr/share/java/slf4j-nop.jar /usr/share/java/slf4j-simple.jar but somehow, Jetty and/or Solr are not finding them. How do I make them find them? or how do I install some other jars where jetty/solr would find them? • Must I loop to search results for a specific value?

  I have a table in the database: name Opinion Tim Tim has an opinion John other random text Dan Dan's random text Al Al says something else I call this data and get it back in getRecords.lastResult To access John's opinion, I could use: getRecords.lastResult[1].opinion But that's only because I know that John is the second record (record 1), but this may change. So the right way is to search through the results to first find the record index for John, then access his opinion. My guess is I need some sort of a loop? Is there an easier way to search for John directly without a loop?

  a requirement was sent to me below: API should be in the form of static library. company xxx will link the library into a third party application to prevent any possible exposure of the code(dll) could they mean an import library? An import library is a library that automates the process of loading and using a dynamic library. On Windows, this is typically done via a small static library (.lib) of the same name as the dynamic library (.dll). The static library is linked into the program at compile time, and then the functionality of the dynamic library can effectively be used as if it were a static library. this might be what they might be eluding to.....I am not sure how to make this in vs2008 . Additional facts: I have a static lib that i use in my current application. Now, I have to convert my app that uses that static lib into an import lib so that they can use a third party prog to access the API's they providede me which in turn will use that static lib i am using. I hope I am clearly explaining this. I am just not sure how to go about it in vs2008. I am looking for specific steps to do this. I already have the coding done. Just need to convert it into the form they are asking and I have to provide the API they want. Other than that then I need to create a test prog which will act as that third party prog so I can make sure my import library works.

  I've been (unsuccessfully) trying to install the "pg" gem on my ruby 1.9.3-p286 but nothing seems to work. I've already installed postgresql (9.1), libpq-dev and a few others like postgresql-server-dev-9.1. I've tried to pass the "with-pg-config" flag to the gem install but simply nothing seems to work. • maven assemblies. Putting each dependency with transitive dependencies in own directory?

  I have a maven project which consists of a few modules. This is to be deployed on a client machine and will involve installing Tomcat and will make use of NSIS for installer. There is a separate application which monitors tomcat and can restart it, perform updates, etc. So, I have the modules setup as follows: project +-- client (all code, handlers, for the war) +-- client-common - (shared code, shared between monitor and client) +-- client-web - (the war, basically just uses war has applicationcontext, web.xml,etc) +-- monitor - (the monitor application jar. Uses wrapper to run) So, I need to create an installer. I was planning on creating another module which would be the installer. This is where I would have tomcat directory and I'd like maven to "assemble" everything and then run NSIS so I can create the final installer. However, I need to have the monitor jar file in a directory and then have all monitors dependencies in a lib/ directory. The final directory structure should be: project-installer-directory/monitor/monitor-version.jar project-installer-directory/monitor/lib/monitor-dep-1.jar project-installer-directory/monitor/lib/monitor-dep-2.jar project-installer-directory/monitor/lib/monitor-dep-3.jar project-installer-directory/webapps/client-web.war Where in the client-web\WEB-INF\lib directory we will have all client-web's dependencies after it is exploded. That works, I have the .war file. What I am having problems with is getting the monitor module dependencies independent of the dependencies of the client-web module. I tried to just create the installer module and make the monitor and client-web dependencies, but when I use dependencies-copy it gives me everything. Not what I want. I'm leaning towards creating a new module called monitor-assembly or something to give me a zip file which contains the directory format I need, but that is yet another module. • Boost link error when using "--layout=system" on VS2005

So why is it looking for the versioned type of it? And how do I get it to look for the unversioned type of the library? I've tried this with more "normal" options, such as below: .\bjam stage --build-type=complete --with-date_time --with-thread --with-filesystem --with-regex > mybuildlog.txt And that works fine. I made sure my compiler saw the "stage\lib" directory, and it compiled and ran fine with nothing beyond having the environment looking into the right lib directory. But when I took those "testing" directories away, and wanted to use these others (unversioned), then it failed. I'm under VS2005 here on XP. Any ideas?

  Goal: To implement a jQuery plugin for my rails app (or write one myself, if necessary) that creates a "box" around text after a delimiter is typed. Example: With tagging on SO, the user begins typing a tag, then selects one from the drop-down list provided. The input field recognizes that a tag has been selected, puts a space and then is ready for the next tag. Similarly, I am attempting to use this plugin to put a box around the previously entered tag before moving to to accept the next tag/input. The instructions in the README.txt seem simple enough, however I have been receiving a $(".tagbox").tagbox is not a function error when debugging my app with firebug. I'm pretty much confused as to why I'd be getting this "not a function" error when jquery.tagbox.js clearly defines the function and is included in the head of my html page in question. I've been struggling with this plugin for longer than I'd like to admit, so any help would really be appreciated. And, of course, I'm open to any other plugins or from-scratch suggestions you may have in mind.. This tagbox plugin does not seem to have a wealth of documentation or any currently working examples. • importing modules in app engine

  Ive asked this before, but it seems i wasnt clear/detailed enough and after a week of trying im still struggling so i will try again. i am trying to use, oauth2 and ply on app engine. i have tried copying their directories into my app engine project directory (in the form ply-3.4 or brosner-python-oauth2-82a05f9) and i have tried copying the specific sub directory contained within the aforemention one. (ply or oauth2) i have tried saying import oauth2, from brosner-oauth2_python-82a05f9 import oauth and other variations on the theme, but i still cant get it to work nothing has worked. i have tried including them in app.yaml, but that seemed to create an even bigger error as my entire project wouldnt even run when i tried that. and now i have run out of things to try. the error log i am getting is as follows. • doesn't parse xml when it's a single node

  my script.php returns this XML <all> <item> <field1>value1</field1> <field2>value2</field2> </item> <item> <field1>value1</field1> <field2>value2</field2> </item> </all> The HTTPService uses the default resultFormat="object" but I don't declare it since it's the default. Then I bind it to a List dataProvider="{getDataHTTP.lastResult.all.item}" I get no problems when the number of item returned is more than 1. But when it's only 1 item I get an error cannot convert XMLList to mx.collections.IList. I tried different solutions including trying to cast it as XMLListCollection but it still gives an error for single items. Does anyone know of a way to possibly solve this?
