  • How to get rid of bogus changes in git?

    I'm a happy user of PortableGit 1.7.0.2. Today I wanted to pull a project changes from GitHub.com repository, so I did git pull. It failed with the following message: error: Your local changes to 'main.rb' would be overwritten by merge. Aborting.. I didn't care about the local changes so I typed git reset --hard HEAD (git clean from here didn't help neither), but it didn't work. When asked for git status I was still able to see the file as modified. git diff showed me that each line of the file has been modified, while git diff -b showed no differences at all, so I guess this is a line ending issue. Which is strange because the code is only pushed from Windows machines. Anyway, the question is: how can I ignore the local, bogus changes and merge with the latest changes from the remote repository?

    I am using the CKEditor for my website along with PHP, and want to allow only <b>, <i>, <a>, and <img> tags. This is easy, however our problem is that a user could essentially add a <b> tag some where and then not close it resulting in all of the comments thereafter and the rest of that page being bolded. How do we check and make sure that whatever tag is opened is now closed?

    Ok, I have been suck on it for hours. I thought net/imap.rb with ruby 1.9 supported the idle command, but not yet. Can anyone help me in implementing that? From here, I though this would work: class Net::IMAP def idle cmd = "IDLE" synchronize do tag = generate_tag put_string(tag + " " + cmd) put_string(CRLF) end end def done cmd = "DONE" synchronize do put_string(cmd) put_string(CRLF) end end end But imap.idle with that just return nil.

    Hello, We implementing offline feature to an existing application. We have implemented the syn with SQL Server internal change tracking and over WCF using MS Sync Framework (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sync/default.aspx) All of our tables have primary key as integer, we cannot move to GUID. So as you are thinking we will have identity crises between applications. So we decided to go with the way Merge replication does(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa179416(SQL.80).aspx) partition the primary key range. Below is the example scenario - Server Table A - ID Range - 0 to 100 Client 1 Table A - ID Range - 101 to 200 Client 2 Table A - ID Range - 201 to 300 how to implement this ? i know we can use BCC CHECKIDENT (yourtable, reseed, value) CHECK (([ID]<=(100))) but this does not solve the issue.... Merge replication provides an option of "Not for replication"(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa237102(SQL.80).aspx) to achieve insert form clients and still maintain the set range.. can i use that somehow here? please help...

    I often find this strange CDATA tag in XML files: <![CDATA[]]> I have observed that this CDATA tag always comes at the beginning, and then followed by some stuff. But sometimes it is used, sometimes it is not. I assume it is to mark that some "data" will be inserted after that. But what kind of "data"? Isn't anything I write in XML tags some sort of "data"?

    Im writing a java code to make a min-ordered Binomial Heap and I have to Insert and Remove-min. I'm having a very big problem inserting into the Heap. I have been stuck on this for a couple of days now and it is due tomorrow. Whenever I go to insert, It only prints out the item I insert instead of the whole tree (which is in preorder). Such as if I insert 1 it prints (1) and then I go to insert 2 it prints out (2) instead of (1(2)) It keeps printing out only the number I insert last instead of the whole preordered tree. I would be very grateful if someone could help me with this problem. The content inside the tag is indented and when i copy the parsed string into the file it's gettting like: Example line This is part of the parsed line Thats goes one End of line What I want is to remove all spaces in front of these lines, the final text should be Example line This is part of the parsed line Thats goes one End of line I've tried to use = but it doesn't work the way U want.
