  When creating a libsvm training file, how do you differentiate between a nominal attribute verses a numeric attribute? I'm trying to encode certain nominal attributes as integers, but I want to ensure libsvm doesn't misinterpret them as numeric values. Unfortunately, libsvm's site seems to have very little documentation. Pentaho's docs seem to imply libsvm makes this distinction, but I'm still not clear how it's made.

  i am currently working on a web application that needs to accept video uploaded by users in any format (.avi, .mov, etc.) and convert them to flv for playing in a flash-based player. Since the site is OpenCms-based, the best solution would be a ready-made plugin for OpenCms that allowed to upload and play videos doing the transcode operation in background, but just a set of Java classes to do the transcode would be great and then i could make the uploading form and playback part on my own.

• Shall I start learning iPhone SDK 3.2 when 4.0 is about to be publicly available?

  Hi, Just became an iPhone developer. I'm completely new to this, and not really sure whether I should start learning SDK version 3.2 or 4.0. I found tons of videos and tutorials for 3.2, not a lot for 4.0. So shall I start with 3.2 and then worry about 4.0 later? or am I going to have to re-learn many things that I will learn in 3.2?
