  • How to configure Java Network Proxy Settings for domain computers

    - by adminParsed
    I need to set the Network Proxy Settings to Direct Connection, for computers on our domain. I have looked at the unattended setup configurations, as well as the deployment.properties file, and didn't see an option to set it to Direct Connection. Are there any alternate means to set this? ex...logon script, vbscript, powershell, GPO, (would be great, but I couldn't find anything on this) Thanks

  • Exception seem in an eclipse GMF application when file not present in workspace

    - by rush00121
    I am developing a GMF application . In this situation , I start my workspace and load a file in the workspace . Then I close the workspace and then delete the file from the workspace . After that, I try to restart my application and restore the workspace . Of course , now since the file does not exist , there are going to be exceptions . I tried a lot to handle these exceptions but if I try to get rid of one exception , then another pops up . Does anyone know what methods do I have to override in order to handle this situation correctly . I am attaching the stacktrace that I get in this exception for a better picture . org.eclipse.core.runtime.CoreException: ERROR at org.eclipse.gmf.runtime.diagram.ui.resources.edito r.parts.DiagramDocumentEditor.createPartControl(Di agramDocumentEditor.java:1509) at com.fnfr.itest.topology.tbml.diagram.custom.part.S ingleFileTbmlDiagramEditor.createPartControl(Singl eFileTbmlDiagramEditor.java:120) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.EditorReference.createPart Helper(EditorReference.java:662) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.EditorReference.createPart (EditorReference.java:462) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.WorkbenchPartReference.get Part(WorkbenchPartReference.java:595) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.EditorAreaHelper.setVisibl eEditor(EditorAreaHelper.java:271) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.EditorManager.setVisibleEd itor(EditorManager.java:1417) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.EditorManager$5.runWithExc eption(EditorManager.java:942) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.StartupThreading$StartupRu nnable.run(StartupThreading.java:31) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.RunnableLock.run(RunnableL ock.java:35) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Synchronizer.runAsyncMessa ges(Synchronizer.java:134) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.runAsyncMessages(D isplay.java:3855) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.readAndDispatch(Di splay.java:3476) at org.eclipse.ui.application.WorkbenchAdvisor.openWi ndows(WorkbenchAdvisor.java:803) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.Workbench$28.runWithExcept ion(Workbench.java:1384) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.StartupThreading$StartupRu nnable.run(StartupThreading.java:31) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.RunnableLock.run(RunnableL ock.java:35) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Synchronizer.runAsyncMessa ges(Synchronizer.java:134) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.runAsyncMessages(D isplay.java:3855) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.readAndDispatch(Di splay.java:3476) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.Workbench.runUI(Workbench. java:2316) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.Workbench.access$4(Workben ch.java:2221) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.Workbench$5.run(Workbench. java:500) at org.eclipse.core.databinding.observable.Realm.runW ithDefault(Realm.java:332) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.Workbench.createAndRunWork bench(Workbench.java:493) at org.eclipse.ui.PlatformUI.createAndRunWorkbench(Pl atformUI.java:149) at com.fnfr.svt.rcp.Application.runWorkbench(Applicat ion.java:205) at com.fnfr.svt.rcp.Application.start(Application.jav a:190) at org.eclipse.equinox.internal.app.EclipseAppHandle. run(EclipseAppHandle.java:194) at org.eclipse.core.runtime.internal.adaptor.EclipseA ppLauncher.runApplication(EclipseAppLauncher.java: 110) at org.eclipse.core.runtime.internal.adaptor.EclipseA ppLauncher.start(EclipseAppLauncher.java:79) at org.eclipse.core.runtime.adaptor.EclipseStarter.ru n(EclipseStarter.java:368) at org.eclipse.core.runtime.adaptor.EclipseStarter.ru n(EclipseStarter.java:179) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Nativ e Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknow n Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Un known Source) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.Main.invokeFramework( Main.java:559) at org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.Main.basicRun(Main.ja va:514) at org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.Main.run(Main.java:13 11) Add to rshah's Reputation

  • Convert Java program to C

    - by imicrothinking
    I need a bit of guidance with writing a C program...a bit of quick background as to my level, I've programmed in Java previously, but this is my first time programming in C, and we've been tasked to translate a word count program from Java to C that consists of the following: Read a file from memory Count the words in the file For each occurrence of a unique word, keep a word counter variable Print out the top ten most frequent words and their corresponding occurrences Here's the source program in Java: package lab0; import java.io.File; import java.io.FileReader; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.Calendar; import java.util.Collections; public class WordCount { private ArrayList<WordCountNode> outputlist = null; public WordCount(){ this.outputlist = new ArrayList<WordCountNode>(); } /** * Read the file into memory. * * @param filename name of the file. * @return content of the file. * @throws Exception if the file is too large or other file related exception. */ public char[] readFile(String filename) throws Exception{ char [] result = null; File file = new File(filename); long size = file.length(); if (size > Integer.MAX_VALUE){ throw new Exception("File is too large"); } result = new char[(int)size]; FileReader reader = new FileReader(file); int len, offset = 0, size2read = (int)size; while(size2read > 0){ len = reader.read(result, offset, size2read); if(len == -1) break; size2read -= len; offset += len; } return result; } /** * Make article word by word. * * @param article the content of file to be counted. * @return string contains only letters and "'". */ private enum SPLIT_STATE {IN_WORD, NOT_IN_WORD}; /** * Go through article, find all the words and add to output list * with their count. * * @param article the content of the file to be counted. * @return words in the file and their counts. */ public ArrayList<WordCountNode> countWords(char[] article){ SPLIT_STATE state = SPLIT_STATE.NOT_IN_WORD; if(null == article) return null; char curr_ltr; int curr_start = 0; for(int i = 0; i < article.length; i++){ curr_ltr = Character.toUpperCase( article[i]); if(state == SPLIT_STATE.IN_WORD){ article[i] = curr_ltr; } addWord(new String(article, curr_start, i-curr_start)); state = SPLIT_STATE.NOT_IN_WORD; } }else{ if (curr_ltr >= 'A' && curr_ltr <= 'Z') { curr_start = i; article[i] = curr_ltr; state = SPLIT_STATE.IN_WORD; } } } return outputlist; } /** * Add the word to output list. */ public void addWord(String word){ int pos = dobsearch(word); if(pos >= outputlist.size()){ outputlist.add(new WordCountNode(1L, word)); }else{ WordCountNode tmp = outputlist.get(pos); if(tmp.getWord().compareTo(word) == 0){ tmp.setCount(tmp.getCount() + 1); }else{ outputlist.add(pos, new WordCountNode(1L, word)); } } } /** * Search the output list and return the position to put word. * @param word is the word to be put into output list. * @return position in the output list to insert the word. */ public int dobsearch(String word){ int cmp, high = outputlist.size(), low = -1, next; } // Perform housekeeping tasks like freeing up memory and closing file I'm really stuck on the selection sort algorithm. I'm currently using 2D arrays to represent strings, and that worked out fine, but when it came to sorting, using three level nested loops didn't seem to work, I tried to use qsort instead, but I don't fully understand that function as well. Constructive feedback and criticism greatly welcome (...and needed)!

  • Loading PNGs into OpenGL performance issues - Java & JOGL much slower than C# & Tao.OpenGL

    - by Edward Cresswell
    I am noticing a large performance difference between Java & JOGL and C# & Tao.OpenGL when both loading PNGs from storage into memory, and when loading that BufferedImage (java) or Bitmap (C# - both are PNGs on hard drive) 'into' OpenGL. This difference is quite large, so I assumed I was doing something wrong, however after quite a lot of searching and trying different loading techniques I've been unable to reduce this difference. With Java I get an image loaded in 248ms and loaded into OpenGL in 728ms The same on C# takes 54ms to load the image, and 34ms to load/create texture. The image in question above is a PNG containing transparency, sized 7200x255, used for a 2D animated sprite. I realise the size is really quite ridiculous and am considering cutting up the sprite, however the large difference is still there (and confusing). On the Java side the code looks like this: BufferedImage image = ImageIO.read(new File(fileName)); texture = TextureIO.newTexture(image, false); texture.setTexParameteri(GL.GL_TEXTURE_MIN_FILTER, GL.GL_LINEAR); texture.setTexParameteri(GL.GL_TEXTURE_MAG_FILTER, GL.GL_LINEAR); The C# code uses: Bitmap t = new Bitmap(fileName); t.RotateFlip(RotateFlipType.RotateNoneFlipY); Rectangle r = new Rectangle(0, 0, t.Width, t.Height); BitmapData bd = t.LockBits(r, ImageLockMode.ReadOnly, PixelFormat.Format32bppArgb); Gl.glBindTexture(Gl.GL_TEXTURE_2D, tID); Gl.glTexImage2D(Gl.GL_TEXTURE_2D, 0, Gl.GL_RGBA, t.Width, t.Height, 0, Gl.GL_BGRA, Gl.GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, bd.Scan0); Gl.glTexParameteri(Gl.GL_TEXTURE_2D, Gl.GL_TEXTURE_MIN_FILTER, Gl.GL_LINEAR); Gl.glTexParameteri(Gl.GL_TEXTURE_2D, Gl.GL_TEXTURE_MAG_FILTER, Gl.GL_LINEAR); t.UnlockBits(bd); t.Dispose(); After quite a lot of testing I can only come to the conclusion that Java/JOGL is just slower here - PNG reading might not be as quick, or that I'm still doing something wrong. Thanks. Edit2: I have found that creating a new BufferedImage with format TYPE_INT_ARGB_PRE decreases OpenGL texture load time by almost half - this includes having to create the new BufferedImage, getting the Graphics2D from it and then rendering the previously loaded image to it. Edit3: Benchmark results for 5 variations. I wrote a small benchmarking tool, the following results come from loading a set of 33 pngs, most are very wide, 5 times. testStart: ImageIO.read(file) -> TextureIO.newTexture(image) result: avg = 10250ms, total = 51251 testStart: ImageIO.read(bis) -> TextureIO.newTexture(image) result: avg = 10029ms, total = 50147 testStart: ImageIO.read(file) -> TextureIO.newTexture(argbImage) result: avg = 5343ms, total = 26717 testStart: ImageIO.read(bis) -> TextureIO.newTexture(argbImage) result: avg = 5534ms, total = 27673 testStart: TextureIO.newTexture(file) result: avg = 10395ms, total = 51979 ImageIO.read(bis) refers to the technique described in James Branigan's answer below. argbImage refers to the technique described in my previous edit: img = ImageIO.read(file); argbImg = new BufferedImage(img.getWidth(), img.getHeight(), TYPE_INT_ARGB_PRE); g = argbImg.createGraphics(); g.drawImage(img, 0, 0, null); texture = TextureIO.newTexture(argbImg, false); Any more methods of loading (either images from file, or images to OpenGL) would be appreciated, I will update these benchmarks.

  • Padding error - when using AES Encryption in Java and Decryption in C

    - by user234445
    Hi All, I have a problem while decrypting the xl file in rijndael 'c' code (The file got encrypted in Java through JCE) and this problem is happening only for the excel files types which having formula's. Remaining all file type encryption/decryption is happening properly. (If i decrypt the same file in java the output is coming fine.) While i am dumped a file i can see the difference between java decryption and 'C' file decryption. od -c -b filename(file decrypted in C) 0034620 005 006 \0 \0 \0 \0 022 \0 022 \0 320 004 \0 \0 276 4 005 006 000 000 000 000 022 000 022 000 320 004 000 000 276 064 0034640 \0 \0 \0 \0 \f \f \f \f \f \f \f \f \f \f \f \f 000 000 000 000 014 014 014 014 014 014 014 014 014 014 014 014 0034660 od -c -b filename(file decrypted in Java) 0034620 005 006 \0 \0 \0 \0 022 \0 022 \0 320 004 \0 \0 276 4 005 006 000 000 000 000 022 000 022 000 320 004 000 000 276 064 0034640 \0 \0 \0 \0 000 000 000 000 0034644 (the above is the difference between the dumped files) The following java code i used to encrypt the file. public class AES { /** * Turns array of bytes into string * * @param buf Array of bytes to convert to hex string * @return Generated hex string */ public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception { File file = new File("testxls.xls"); byte[] lContents = new byte[(int) file.length()]; try { FileInputStream fileInputStream = new FileInputStream(file); fileInputStream.read(lContents); } catch (FileNotFoundException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e1) { e1.printStackTrace(); } try { KeyGenerator kgen = KeyGenerator.getInstance("AES"); kgen.init(256); // 192 and 256 bits may not be available // Generate the secret key specs.     I have a text file with four lines, each line contains comma separated values like below file My file is: Raj,[email protected],123455 kumar,[email protected],23453 shilpa,[email protected],765468 suraj,[email protected],876567 and I have a MySQL table which contains four fields firstname lastname email phno ---------- ---------- --------- -------- Raj babu [email protected] 2343245 kumar selva [email protected] 23453 shilpa murali [email protected] 765468 suraj abd [email protected] 876567 Now I want to update my table using the data in the above text file through Java. I have tried using bufferedReader to read from the file and used split method using comma as delimiter and stored it in array. But it is not working. Any help appreciated. This is what I have tried so far void readingFile() { try { File f1 = new File("TestFile.txt"); FileReader fr = new FileReader(f1); BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(fr); String strln = null; strln = br.readLine(); while((strln=br.readLine())!=null) { // System.out.println(strln); arr = strln.split(","); strfirstname = arr[0]; strlastname = arr[1]; stremail = arr[2]; strphno = arr[3]; System.out.println(strfirstname + " " + strlastname + " " + stremail +" "+ strphno); } // for(String i : arr) // { // } br.close(); fr.close(); } catch(IOException e) { System.out.println("Cannot read from File." + e); } try { st = conn.createStatement(); String query = "update sampledb set email = stremail,phno =strphno where firstname = strfirstname "; st.executeUpdate(query); st.close(); System.out.println("sampledb Table successfully updated."); } catch(Exception e3) { System.out.println("Unable to Update sampledb table.   • Pure JSP without mixing HTML, by writing html as Java-like code

    - by ADTC
    Please read before answering. This is a fantasy programming technique I'm dreaming up. I want to know if there's anything close in real life. The following JSP page: <% html { head { title {"Pure fantasy";} } body { h1 {"A heading with double quote (\") character";} p {"a paragraph";} String s = "a paragraph in string. the date is "; p { s; new Date().toString(); } table (Border.ZERO, new Padding(27)) { tr { for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { td {i;} } } } } } %> could generate the following HTML page: <html> <head> <title>Pure fantasy</title> </head> <body> <h1>A heading with double quote (") character</h1> <p>a paragraph</p> <p>a paragraph in string. the date is 11 December 2012</p> <table border="0" padding="27"> <tr> <td>0</td> <td>1</td> <td>2</td> <td>3</td> <td>4</td> <td>5</td> <td>6</td> <td>7</td> <td>8</td> <td>9</td> </tr> </table> </body> </html> The thing about this fantasy is it reuses the same old Java programming language technique that enable customized keywords used in a way similar to if-else-then, while, try-catch etc to represent html tags in a non-html way that can easily be checked for syntactic correctness, and most importantly can easily be mixed up with regular Java code without being lost in a sea of <%, %>, <%=, out.write(), etc. An added feature is that strings can directly be placed as commands to print out into generated HTML, something Java doesn't support (where pure strings have to be assigned to variables before use). Is there anything in real life that comes close? If not, is it possible to define customized keywords in Java or JSP? Or do I have to create an entirely new programming language for that? What problems do you see with this kind of setup? PS: I know you can use HTML libraries to construct HTML using Java code, but the problem with such libraries is, the source code itself doesn't have a readable HTML representation like the code above does - if you get what I mean.

  • Why can't Java servlet sent out an object ?

    - by Frank
    I use the following method to send out an object from a servlet : public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request,HttpServletResponse response) throws IOException { String Full_URL=request.getRequestURL().append("?"+request.getQueryString()).toString(); String Contact_Id=request.getParameter("Contact_Id"); String Time_Stamp=Get_Date_Format(6),query="select from "+Contact_Info_Entry.class.getName()+" where Contact_Id == '"+Contact_Id+"' order by Contact_Id desc"; PersistenceManager pm=null; try { pm=PMF.get().getPersistenceManager(); // note that this returns a list, there could be multiple, DataStore does not ensure uniqueness for non-primary key fields List<Contact_Info_Entry> results=(List<Contact_Info_Entry>)pm.newQuery(query).execute(); Write_Serialized_XML(response.getOutputStream(),results.get(0)); } catch (Exception e) { Send_Email(Email_From,Email_To,"Check_License_Servlet Error [ "+Time_Stamp+" ]",new Text(e.toString()+"\n"+Get_Stack_Trace(e)),null); } finally { pm.close(); } } /** Writes the object and CLOSES the stream. • Help with abstract class in Java with private variable of type List<E>

    - by Nazgulled
    Hi, It's been two years since I last coded something in Java so my coding skills are bit rusty. I need to save data (an user profile) in different data structures, ArrayList and LinkedList, and they both come from List. I want to avoid code duplication where I can and I also want to follow good Java practices. For that, I'm trying to create an abstract class where the private variables will be of type List<E> and then create 2 sub-classes depending on the type of variable. Thing is, I don't know if I'm doing this correctly, you can take a look at my code: Class: DBList import java.util.List; public abstract class DBList { private List<UserProfile> listName; private List<UserProfile> listSSN; public List<UserProfile> getListName() { return this.listName; } public List<UserProfile> getListSSN() { return this.listSSN; } public void setListName(List<UserProfile> listName) { this.listName = listName; } public void setListSSN(List<UserProfile> listSSN) { this.listSSN = listSSN; } } Class: DBListArray import java.util.ArrayList; public class DBListArray extends DBList { public DBListArray() { super.setListName(new ArrayList<UserProfile>()); super.setListSSN(new ArrayList<UserProfile>()); } public DBListArray(ArrayList<UserProfile> listName, ArrayList<UserProfile> listSSN) { super.setListName(listName); super.setListSSN(listSSN); } public DBListArray(DBListArray dbListArray) { super.setListName(dbListArray.getListName()); super.setListSSN(dbListArray.getListSSN()); } } Class: DBListLinked import java.util.LinkedList; public class DBListLinked extends DBList { public DBListLinked() { super.setListName(new LinkedList<UserProfile>()); super.setListSSN(new LinkedList<UserProfile>()); } public DBListLinked(LinkedList<UserProfile> listName, LinkedList<UserProfile> listSSN) { super.setListName(listName); super.setListSSN(listSSN); } public DBListLinked(DBListLinked dbListLinked) { super.setListName(dbListLinked.getListName()); super.setListSSN(dbListLinked.getListSSN()); } } 1) Does any of this make any sense? What am I doing wrong? Do you have any recommendations? 2) It would make more sense for me to have the constructors in DBList and calling them (with super()) in the subclasses but I can't do that because I can't initialize a variable with new List<E>(). 3) I was thought to do deep copies whenever possible and for that I always override the clone() method of my classes and code it accordingly. But those classes never had any lists, sets or maps on them, they only had strings, ints, floats. How do I do deep copies in this situation?

  • null pointer exception comparing two strings in java.

    - by David
    I got this error message and I'm not quite sure whats wrong: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException at Risk.runTeams(Risk.java:384) at Risk.blobRunner(Risk.java:220) at Risk.genRunner(Risk.java:207) at Risk.main(Risk.java:176) Here is the relevant bits of code (i will draw attention to the line numbers within the error message via comments in the code as well as inputs i put into the program while its running where relevant) public class Risk { ... public static void main (String[]arg) { String CPUcolor = CPUcolor () ; genRunner (CPUcolor) ; //line 176 ... } ... public static void genRunner (String CPUcolor) // when this method runs i select 0 and run blob since its my only option. Theres nothing wrong with this method so long as i know, this is only significant because it takes me to blob runner and because another one of our relelvent line numbers apears. { String[] strats = new String[1] ; strats[0] = "0 - Blob" ; int s = chooseStrat (strats) ; if (s == 0) blobRunner (CPUcolor) ; // this is line 207 } ... public static void blobRunner (String CPUcolor) { System.out.println ("blob Runner") ; int turn = 0 ; boolean gameOver = false ; Dice other = new Dice ("other") ; Dice a1 = new Dice ("a1") ; Dice a2 = new Dice ("a2") ; Dice a3 = new Dice ("a3") ; Dice d1 = new Dice ("d1") ; Dice d2 = new Dice ("d2") ; space (5) ; Territory[] board = makeBoard() ; IdiceRoll (other) ; String[] colors = runTeams(CPUcolor) ; //this is line 220 Card[] deck = Card.createDeck () ; System.out.println (StratUtil.canTurnIn (deck)) ; while (gameOver == false) { idler (deck) ; board = assignTerri (board, colors) ; checkBoard (board, colors) ; } } ... public static String[] runTeams (String CPUcolor) { boolean z = false ; String[] a = new String[6] ; while (z == false) { a = assignTeams () ; printOrder (a) ; boolean CPU = false ; for (int i = 0; i<a.length; i++) { if (a[i].equals(CPUcolor)) CPU = true ; //this is line 384 } if (CPU==false) { System.out.println ("ERROR YOU NEED TO INCLUDE THE COLOR OF THE CPU IN THE TURN ORDER") ; runTeams (CPUcolor) ; } System.out.println ("is this turn order correct? (Y/N)") ; String s = getIns () ; while (!((s.equals ("y")) || (s.equals ("Y")) || (s.equals ("n")) || (s.equals ("N")))) { System.out.println ("try again") ; s = getIns () ; } if (s.equals ("y") || s.equals ("Y") ) z = true ; } return a ; } ... } // This } closes the class The reason i don't think i should be getting a Null:pointerException is because in this line: a[i].equals(CPUcolor) a at index i holds a string and CPUcolor is a string. Both at this point definatly have a value neither is null. Can anyone please tell me whats going wrong?

  • Using my custom colormap in Java for images

    - by John
    Hi everyone! I've got a question concering a colormapping via index. I tried this code found on http://www.podgoretsky.pri.ee/ftp/Docs/Java/Tricks%20of%20the%20Java%20Programming%20Gurus/ch12.htm // Gradient.java // Imports import java.applet.Applet; import java.awt.; import java.awt.image.; public class Gradient extends Applet { final int colors = 32; final int width = 200; final int height = 200; Image img; public void init() { // Create the color map byte[] rbmap = new byte[colors]; byte[] gmap = new byte[colors]; for (int i = 0; i < colors; i++) gmap[i] = (byte)((i * 255) / (colors - 1)); // Create the color model int bits = (int)Math.ceil(Math.log(colors) / Math.log(2)); IndexColorModel model = new IndexColorModel(bits, colors, rbmap, gmap, rbmap); // Create the pixels int pixels[] = new int[width * height]; int index = 0; for (int y = 0; y < height; y++) for (int x = 0; x < width; x++) pixels[index++] = (x * colors) / width; // Create the image img = createImage(new MemoryImageSource(width, height, model, pixels, 0, width)); } public void paint(Graphics g) { g.drawImage(img, 0, 0, this); } } It worked great but I tried to load a custom image jpeg mapped on my own colormap but it didnt work right. I saw only a bunch of green and blue pixels drawn on a white background. My custom color map method here: public void inintByteArrays() { double[][] c = // basic color map { { 0.0000, 0.0000, 0.5625 }, { 0.0000, 0.0000, 0.6250 }, { 0.0000, 0.0000, 0.6875 }, { 0.0000, 0.0000, 0.6875 }, { 0.0000, 0.0000, 0.7500 }, { 0.0000, 0.0000, 0.8125 }, { 0.0000, 0.0000, 0.8750 }, { 0.0000, 0.0000, 0.9375 }, { 0.0000, 0.0000, 1.0000 }, { 0.0000, 0.0625, 1.0000 }, { 0.0000, 0.1250, 1.0000 }, { 0.0000, 0.1875, 1.0000 }, { 0.0000, 0.2500, 1.0000 }, { 0.0000, 0.3125, 1.0000 }, { 0.0000, 0.3750, 1.0000 }, { 0.0000, 0.4375, 1.0000 }, { 0.0000, 0.5000, 1.0000 }, { 0.0000, 0.5625, 1.0000 }, { 0.0000, 0.6250, 1.0000 }, { 0.0000, 0.6875, 1.0000 }, { 0.0000, 0.7500, 1.0000 }, { 0.0000, 0.8125, 1.0000 }, { 0.0000, 0.8750, 1.0000 }, { 0.0000, 0.9375, 1.0000 }, { 0.0000, 1.0000, 1.0000 }, { 0.0625, 1.0000, 0.9375 }, { 0.1250, 1.0000, 0.8750 }, { 0.1875, 1.0000, 0.8125 }, { 0.2500, 1.0000, 0.7500 }, { 0.3125, 1.0000, 0.6875 }, { 0.3750, 1.0000, 0.6250 }, { 0.4375, 1.0000, 0.5625 }, { 0.5000, 1.0000, 0.5000 }, { 0.5625, 1.0000, 0.4375 }, { 0.6250, 1.0000, 0.3750 }, { 0.6875, 1.0000, 0.3125 }, { 0.7500, 1.0000, 0.2500 }, { 0.8125, 1.0000, 0.1875 }, { 0.8750, 1.0000, 0.1250 }, { 0.9375, 1.0000, 0.0625 }, { 1.0000, 1.0000, 0.0000 }, { 1.0000, 0.9375, 0.0000 }, { 1.0000, 0.8750, 0.0000 }, { 1.0000, 0.8125, 0.0000 }, { 1.0000, 0.7500, 0.0000 }, { 1.0000, 0.6875, 0.0000 }, { 1.0000, 0.6250, 0.0000 }, { 1.0000, 0.5625, 0.0000 }, { 1.0000, 0.5000, 0.0000 }, { 1.0000, 0.4375, 0.0000 }, { 1.0000, 0.3750, 0.0000 }, { 1.0000, 0.3125, 0.0000 }, { 1.0000, 0.2500, 0.0000 }, { 1.0000, 0.1875, 0.0000 }, { 1.0000, 0.1250, 0.0000 }, { 1.0000, 0.0625, 0.0000 }, { 1.0000, 0.0000, 0.0000 }, { 0.9375, 0.0000, 0.0000 }, { 0.8750, 0.0000, 0.0000 }, { 0.8125, 0.0000, 0.0000 }, { 0.7500, 0.0000, 0.0000 }, { 0.6875, 0.0000, 0.0000 }, { 0.6250, 0.0000, 0.0000 }, { 0.5625, 0.0000, 0.0000 }, { 0.5000, 0.0000, 0.0000 } }; for (int i = 0; i < c.length; i++) { for (int j = 0; j < c[i].length; j++) { if (j == 0) r[i] = (byte) ((byte) c[i][j]*255); if (j == 1) g[i] = (byte) ((byte) c[i][j]*255); if (j == 2) b[i] = (byte) ((byte) c[i][j]*255); } } My question is how I can use my colormap for any image I want to load and map in the right way. Thank you very much! Greetings, protein1.

  • USB software protection dongle for Java with an SDK which is cross-platform “for real”. Does it exist?

    - by Unai Vivi
    What I'd like to ask is if anybody knows about an hardware USB-dongle for software protection which offers a very complete out-of-the-box API support for cross-platform Java deployments. Its SDK should provide a jar (only one, not one different library per OS & bitness) ready to be added to one's project as a library. The jar should contain all the native stuff for the various OSes and bitnesses From the application's point of view, one should continue to write (api calls) once and run everywhere, without having to care where the end-user will run the software The provided jar should itself deal with loading the appropriate native library Does such a thing exist? With what I've tried so far, you have different APIs and compiled libraries for win32, linux32, win64, linux64, etc (or you even have to compile stuff yourself on the target machine), but hey, we're doing Java here, we don't know (and don't care) where the program will run! And we can't expect the end-user to be a software engineer, tweak (and break!) its linux server, link libraries, mess with gcc, litter the filesystem, etc... In general, Java support (in a transparent cross-platform fashion) is quite bad with the dongle SDKs I've evaluated so far (e.g. KeyLok and SecuTech's UniKey). I even purchased (no free evaluation kit available) SecureMetric SDKs&dongles (they should've been "soooo" straighforward to integrate -- according to marketing material :\ ) and they were the worst ever: SecureDongle X has no 64bit support and SecureDongle SD is not cross-platform at all. So, has anyone out there been through this and found the ultimate Java security usb dongle for cross-platform deployments? Note: software is low-volume, high-value; application is off-line (intranet with no internet access), so no online-activation alternatives and the like. -- EDIT Tried out HASP dongles (used to be called "Aladdin"), and added them to the no-no list: here, too, there is no out-of-the-box (out-of-the-jar) support: e.g. end-linux-user has to manually put the .so library (the specific file for the appropriate bitness) in the right place on his filesystem, and export an env. variable accordingly. -- EDIT 2 I really don't understand all the negativity and all the downvoting: is this a taboo topic? Is it so hard to understand that a freelance developer has to put food on the table everyday to feed its family and pay the bills at the end of the month? Please don't talk about "adding value" as a supplier, because that'd be off-topic. Furthermore I'm not in direct contact with end-customers, but there's an intermediate reselling entity: it's this entity I want to prevent selling copies of the software without sharing the revenue. -- EDIT 3 I'd like to emphasize the fact that the question is looking for a technical answer, not one about opinions concerning business models, philosophical lucubrations on the concept of value, resellers' reliability, etc. I cannot change resellers, because this isn't a "general purpose" kind of sw, but a very vertical one and (for some reasons it's not worth explaining here) I must go through them. I just need to prevent the "we sold 2 copies, here's your share [bwahaha we sold 10]" scenario.

  • Best Language for the job? Database | C++, .NET, Java

    - by Randy E
    Ok, quick overview. I'm pretty brand new to software design. I have experience reading and editing/customizing PHP things for online scripts/software; Such as CMS, Wordpress, some forum solutions. I'm about to begin my degree in Software Design, the school I'm going to will allow us to kind of focus on an area, C++, Java, or .NET. I've played around a little with VB over the past week, mostly just trying to get a slight feel for it, however nothing extensive. I've been through Herbert Schildt's "C++, A Beginner's Guide." but I was mainly reading it, not doing anything with it beyond a couple basic Console Apps (and getting frustrated with auto-close :/ ). Now, where I decide to focus more in with my degree will depend on what the best language for the job is for my first piece of software I want to develop on my own. Assume I haven't looked at any of the languages at all, please help with the following: My first piece of software will be a database program. Everything has to do with users inputting and retrieving data, and calling that data to help with another function of the software, automatically calculating billing information based on information inputted in the other portion of the program. I won't go into too many details as I'm targeting a niche that doesn't have too much competition, but the competition that is there is established. I want to offer more features, scalable solutions, and the ability to port it to an online version. Ok, basically, it is a complete case management with integrated billing for Private Investigators. I would like the case management to be able to check the Database to see if certain information has been inputted before (such as Names/SSN's), and then the billing will pull hours inputted in the case portion for investigative work, multiplying by an already inputted amount for the fee, and then calculate sales tax. I also want to provide potential clients with an easily scalable solution, that is, a basic option for start ups that costs the least amount, with no additional users, ran on one machine. A middle option with the ability to create users and place them in two groups (User or Admin), as well as adding a few additional features, ran on one machine, but this will allow it to be accessed after being mapped on a network drive. And a third option to allow the placement into 4 different groups (Investigators, Billing, Managers, Admins) and more features. And then, a couple of years after launch, a 4th option that is browser based allowing the same 4 groups to login, as well as clients (view things concerning their case, with some admin customizable objects that can be added for clients view), over the internet. The only licensing security I would like to employ right off the bat will be serial key generated after ordering online (received in an email after the successful purchase). The program will access a database stored on a server periodically to verify license. I would like it to be able to check to make sure it's the most updated version and automatically update if not.

  • Java Cloud Service for developers

    - by JuergenKress
    The advent of cloud computing has reinvented application development for many companies. “That’s the beauty of the cloud,” says Cameron Purdy, vice president of development, Oracle. “It dramatically improves developer productivity because they can do what they do best without having to manage complex development, testing, staging, and production environments.” The key is to find a platform that doesn’t impose proprietary restrictions or force developers to learn new tools. For example, Oracle Java Cloud Service is an enterprise-grade platform as a service for building and deploying Java EE, Oracle WebLogic Server, and Oracle Application Development Framework (Oracle ADF) applications. “It’s designed to be flexible and easy to use,” says Purdy. “And it is also a standards-based solution -it’s not proprietary and there is no cloud lock-in. Developers get instant access to an enterprise-grade environment for a simple, monthly subscription.” Oracle Java Cloud Service instances are created with just a few clicks, so businesses can create a rich application development environment within minutes. Running on Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle Exalogic, the underlying infrastructure also leverages Oracle Fusion Middleware’s integration with common services. For example, instances come integrated and preconfigured with optimized Oracle Database and Oracle Identity Management configurations. Based on Oracle Enterprise Manager, the Oracle Java Cloud Service console lets customers easily manage and monitor their Oracle Java Cloud Service instances. The open nature of the Oracle Java Cloud Service lets developers integrate through Web services such as SOAP and REST APIs, as well as use their favorite developer tools, whether they are out-of-the-box tools such as Maven and Ant or the productivity features built into Oracle JDeveloper, Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse, or NetBeans IDE. The service allows for the seamless movement of applications between on-premise Oracle WebLogic Server domains and instances of Oracle Java Cloud Service within Oracle Cloud. This approach allows flexibility to mix and match the use of on-premise environments with cloud instances for development, test, and production environments. • Oracle Brings Java to iOS Devices (and Android too)

    - by Shay Shmeltzer
    Java developer, did you ever wish that you can take your Java skills and apply them to building applications for iOS mobile devices? Well, now you can! With the new Oracle ADF Mobile solution, Oracle has created a unique technology that allows developers to use the Java language and develop applications that install and run on both iOS and Android mobile devices. The solution is based on a thin native container that installs as part of your application. The container is able to run the same application you develop unchanged on both Android and iOS devices. One part of the container is a headless lightweight JVM based on the Java ME CDC technology. This allows the execution of Java code on your mobile device. Java is used for building business logic, accessing local SQLite encrypted database, and invoking and interacting with remote services. Java concept on the UI too To further help transition Java developers to mobile developers, ADF Mobile borrows familiar concepts from the world of JSF to make the UI development experience simpler. The user interface layer of Oracle ADF Mobile is rendered with HTML5 which delivers native user experience on the devices, including animations and gesture support. Using a set of rich components, developers can create mobile pages without needing to write low level HTML5 and JavaScript code. The components cover everything from simple controls such as text fields, date pickers, buttons and links, to advanced data visualization components such as graphs, gauges and maps, and including unique mobile UI patterns such as lists, and toggle selectors. Want to see the components in action? Access this demo instance from your mobile device. Need to further customize the look and feel? You can use CSS3 to achieve this. A controller layer - similar in functionality to the JSF controller - allows developer to simplify the way they build navigation between pages. The logic behind the pages is written in managed beans with various scopes – again similar to the JSF approach. Need to interact with device features like camera, SMS, Contacts etc? Oracle conveniently packaged access to these services in a set of services that you can just drag and drop into your pages as buttons and links, or code into your managed beans Java calls to activate. Underneath the covers this layer is implemented using the open source phonegap solution. With the new Oracle ADF Mobile solution, transferring your Java skills into the Mobile world has become much easier. Check out this development experience demo. And then go and download JDeveloper and the ADF Mobile extension and try it out on your own. For more on ADF Mobile, see the ADF Mobile OTN page.

  • How / Where can I host my Java web application? [closed]

    - by Huliax
    Possible Duplicate: How to find web hosting that meets my requirements? In case you want to skip to the crux of my inquiry just read the bold type. I just finished my CS degree (at 39 years old :-)). For my final project I designed and built a system that can provide local positioning / location awareness to mobile wifi devices (only have Android client thus far). The server receives data from clients, processes it, and responds to the clients with a messages containing information about their respective locations. I would like to continue the project (perhaps release as open source but that is a different discussion). Thus far my server application has been running on the CS department's hardware where I could pretty much do whatever I wanted. I'm getting kicked off that system in a few weeks so I have to find a new home for my server application. I need a host that will let me run my Java server (along w/ mySQL db) -- preferably on the cheap since I haven't yet got a job. I have very little experience with the "real world" of web development / hosting. I'm having trouble figuring out what kind of hosting service will let me run my application as is. If that turns out to be a tall order then I need to know what my options are for changing thing so that I can get up and running with some hosting. As an aside, I'm also researching whether or not I should rewrite this in a different language. Trying to figure out if there is a substantially better (for whatever reason) one for what I'm doing. This might also potentially have a bearing on my hosting needs. One possibility is to write the server in something more widely accepted by hosting services. I have been searching for answers to my question and haven't found quite what I'm looking for. Part of the problem might be that I don't know exactly what terminology to use. If there is a good answer to this question elsewhere please feel free to point me towards it. Thanks for help / advice.

  • Should the 12-String be in it's own class and why? Java

    - by MayNotBe
    This is my first question here. I will amend it as instructed. This is regarding a homework project in my first Java programming class (online program). The assignment is to create a "stringed instrument" class using (among other things) an array of String names representing instrument string names ("A", "E", etc). The idea for the 12-string is beyond the scope of the assignment (it doesn't have to be included at all) but now that I've thought of it, I want to figure out how to make it work. Part of me feels like the 12-String should have it's own class, but another part of me feels that it should be in the guitar class because it's a guitar. I suppose this will become clear as I progress but I thought I would see what kind of response I get here. Also, why would they ask for a String[] for the instrument string names? Seems like a char[] makes more sense. Thank you for any insight. Here's my code so far (it's a work in progress): public class Guitar { private int numberOfStrings = 6; private static int numberOfGuitars = 0; private String[] stringNotes = {"E", "A", "D", "G", "B", "A"}; private boolean tuned = false; private boolean playing = false; public Guitar(){ numberOfGuitars++; } public Guitar(boolean twelveString){ if(twelveString){ stringNotes[0] = "E, E"; stringNotes[1] = "A, A"; stringNotes[2] = "D, D"; stringNotes[3] = "G, G"; stringNotes[4] = "B, B"; stringNotes[5] = "E, E"; numberOfStrings = 12; } } public int getNumberOfStrings() { return numberOfStrings; } public void setNumberOfStrings(int strings) { if(strings == 12 || strings == 6) { if(strings == 12){ stringNotes[0] = "E, E"; stringNotes[1] = "A, A"; stringNotes[2] = "D, D"; stringNotes[3] = "G, G"; stringNotes[4] = "B, B"; stringNotes[5] = "E, E"; numberOfStrings = strings; } if(strings == 6) numberOfStrings = strings; }//if else System.out.println("***ERROR***Guitar can only have 6 or 12 strings***ERROR***"); } public void getStringNotes() { for(int i = 0; i < stringNotes.length; i++){ if(i == stringNotes.length - 1) System.out.println(stringNotes[i]); else System.out.print(stringNotes[i] + ", "); }//for }

  • GridView row remove and animation - Android

    - by Pria
    I have a GridView in which each row has a custom view. The grid view adapter has an array that keeps the custom view. At click of a button, I want to remove a specific row from the Grid and while doing so I want animation on it. I have an AnimationListener. When I remove the upper most row from the array and setAdapter in onAnimationEnd(). It works perfectly fine. But, when I remove any other row, it gives a NullPointerException in the main thread. The exception thread is as follows: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(11503): java.lang.NullPointerException at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1227) at android.widget.AbsListView.dispatchDraw(AbsListView.java:1319) at android.view.View.draw(View.java:5944) at android.widget.AbsListView.draw(AbsListView.java:2121) at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1486) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1228) at android.view.View.draw(View.java:5841) at android.widget.FrameLayout.draw(FrameLayout.java:352) at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1486) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1228) at android.view.View.draw(View.java:5841) at android.widget.FrameLayout.draw(FrameLayout.java:352) at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1486) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1228) at android.view.View.draw(View.java:5841) at android.widget.FrameLayout.draw(FrameLayout.java:352) at com.android.internal.policy.impl.PhoneWindow$DecorView.draw(PhoneWindow.java:1847) at android.view.ViewRoot.draw(ViewRoot.java:1217) at android.view.ViewRoot.performTraversals(ViewRoot.java:1030) at android.view.ViewRoot.handleMessage(ViewRoot.java:1482) at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:123) at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:3948) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:521) at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:782) at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:540) at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) Please help!!!
