  Hi, I have a set of functional jars(more than 3) that tests my source code. These jars just contains test classes and assisting asserter classes. I am creating a new performance jar that would import all the functional tests from these jars so that all can be run simultaneously. But when I include them as test dependencies in pom of current jar, what all I get to see is the classes in src/main/java. How can I include these functional jars as dependent jars so that I can also reference classes in src/test/java. In other words, how do I reference the test classes in other jars. In what way should I include the dependency as. Thanks for your support.

• how to debug a WCF service once it's out of dev env

  hi, I have a WCF service that i've been able to communicate with fine while it's hosted locally. I have it deployed to a web server in IIS now, and I can get the wsdl file without error by navigating to http://site.com:8000/service/servicename.svc?wsdl in trying to test this, i've created a console app and was able to successfully add a service reference to this. But when I try to run a Get() method on the service reference, it just hangs with no response. How can I begin to debug this? Thanks!

• Creating objects and referencing before saving object to db

  Sorry about the vague title, but i didnt know how to ask the question in one line :) I have an order with nested itemgroups that again have nested items. the user specify the amount of item that he would like to have in each itemgroup. I would like to create these items in the create method of the orders controller when the order itself is being created. I kinda have 2 problems here. First, how do i set the reference of the items, or better yet, put the items into the @order object so they are saved when the @order is saved? the items are being stored in the db as the code is now, but the reference is not set because the order is not stored in the db yet so it doesnt have an id yet. Second, im not sure im using the correct way to get the id from my itemgroup. @order = Order.new(params[:order]) @order.itemgroups.each do |f| f.amount.times do @item = Item.new() @item.itemgroup_id = f.id @item.save end end

  Hi, I have a table, department , with several bit fields to indicate department types One is Warehouse (when true, indicate the department is warehouse) And I have another table, ManagersForWarehouses with following structure: ID autoinc WarehouseID int (foreign key reference DepartmentID from departments) ManagerID int (foreign key reference EmployeeID from employees) StartDate EndDate To set new manager for warehouse, I insert in this table with EndDate null, and I have a trigger that sets EndDate for previous record for that warehouse = StartDate for new manager, so a single manager appears for a warehouse at a certain time. I want to add two check constraints as follows, but not sure how to do this do not allow to insert into ManagersForWarehouses if WarehouseID is not marked as warehouse Do not allow to uncheck Warehouse if there are records in ManagersForWarehouses Thanks

• Iphone UI Size / Layout Resource?

  Is anyone aware of a website or download to reference for the size of UI elements or standard iphone interface stuff? What I mean is something that gives the height of elements like the status bar, tab bar, navigation bar, default tableviewcell height (and such things as width of accessory view, indentation, etc), default icon sizes, default font sizes for UI elements (if they need to be mimicked, for instance), etc etc etc. It's amazing how many times I have to go back to find a reference or estimate the size and position of a standard element. It seems like it would be an invaluable resource that could fit on a printed page or two.

  I'm considering creating a singleton wrapper for a Context so my model objects, if necessary, can open and read from a database connection. My model objects do not have access to a Context, and I'd like to avoid needing to pass a reference to a Context from object to object. I was planning to place into this singleton a reference to the Context returned by Application.getApplicationContext(). This singleton object would be initialized in my custom Application instance before anything else would need to or have a chance to use it. Can anyone think of a reason to not do this?

  I have some code in C# that uses a structure as such: ArrayList addrs = new ArrayList(); byte[] addr = new byte[8]; while (oneWire.Search_GetNextDevice(addr)) { addrs.Add(addr); } In this example, every element in the ArrayList is the same as the last device that was found because it would appear as though addr is passed out by reference and I am simply copying that reference into the ArrayList. Is there any way to "Dereference" addr to only extract it's value? It's also possible my assessment of the situation is incorrect, if that appears to be the case, please let me know Thanks!

  Hi there, got a reference to an arrayCollection and add event listener like this: collection.addEventListener(CollectionEvent.COLLECTION_CHANGE, onCollectionChange); that´s fine. Now some other component does have the same reference and is adding items to and removing items from that collection.   Hi, Does does class/object models have a out-of-the-box equivalent to a database foreign key constraint? Assume the language is C# please. That is say Class A has a field that references Class B and vica-versa. If I have Object A & B (instantiated from these classes) what happens if I delete Object B? Does it auto-delete or throw a constraint issue if it still exists in Object A as a reference? That is, for this scenario is there a way to ensure when a Object A is delete that either (a) object B is delete like a cascade delete, or (b) a constraint exception is thrown as the expectation is that the reference in Class B should be non-null?

  Does anyone know if exists any official or most accepted reference for Angular naming conventions to use when we build our applications? Angular has a lot of different type of components such as filters, directives, services and so on. Wouldn't you agree that having a reference naming convention when we implement them in our applications will make sense? For example: If we need to create new filters how should we name them like [Something]Filter or filter[Something] or something else? And same applies for Controllers, Services, Directives and so on. Other things I wonder about is if variables/functions that belongs to the scope should have an special prefix or suffix. In some situations it may be useful to have a way to differentiate them from functions and other (none angular code).

  I am developing a C# VS 2008 website, trying to add a Master file. I created a virtual directory in IIS housing the "Master" folder, containing the Master files. Now how do I reference these files from my website in VS? One problem is I do not know where I need to publish this Master folder to. Other problem is I do not know how to reference this Master file in my aspx Page directive. FYI, this master folder is physically located outside of c:\inetpub\ in a totally separate file location. Is this a problem?

It can reference the literal value of attribute @b. Or more generally, I want to find if there are any instances where there are two or more elements e[@b=A'] with the same value for attribute @a.   I have an application that is written with the NetBeans Platform 5.5. I'm having trouble consuming a web service. If I create a Java SE application in NetBeans, I can add a web service reference without problem. Since my application is using the NetBeans Platform, many of the menu choices change. So, I cannot figure out how to add a reference to the web service. I've googled this topic a number of ways but haven't found any pages that deal with consuming a service through the platform. They all talk about consuming a service with a Java SE application. Changing the application from the Platform architecture is not an option.

  Following up on Reason for unintuitive UnboundLocalError behaviour (I will assume you've read it). Consider the following Python script: def f(): # a+=1 # 1 aa=a aa+=1 # b+='b' # 2 bb=b bb+='b' c[0]+='c' # 3 c.append('c') cc=c cc.append('c') # 4 a=1 b='b' c=['c'] f() print a print b print c The result of the script is: 1 b ['cc', 'c', 'c'] The commented out lines (marked 1,2) are lines that would through an UnboundLocalError and the SO question I referenced explains why. However, the line marked 3 works! By default, lists are copied by reference in Python, therefore it's understandable that c changes when cc changes. But why should Python allow c to change in the first place, if it didn't allow changes to a and b directly from the method's scope? I don't see how the fact that by default lists are copied by reference in Python should make this design decision inconsistent. What am I missing folks?

  Using import aliasing in a single class, we can reference class library namespaces by assigning our own custom alias like this: ' VB Imports Db = Company.Lib.Data.Objects // C# using Db = Company.Lib.Data.Objects; And then we are able to reference the classes inside of Company.Lib.Data.Objects by using the Db alias that we assigned. Is it possible to do this at the global level so that the alias is applied to the entire solution instead of the given file? Currently, we are working with web applications, so I was hoping we could add something to web.config, but I am also interested in whether or not this is possible with windows forms, console apps, and/or class libraries.

  I have a .NET exe that I wrote and it has a couple properties that I made public and want to expose. I want to shell this exe (Process.Start()) and then somehow reference this exe and get access to these public properties. These properties expose information about the running exe. I know how to shell to the exe. And I know how to add a reference to the exe from my project that I want to use this object. But how do I get access to the properties of this running exe? I hope I am explaining myself well. If you do know the answer maybe you could just tell me what the standard method is to expose properties of a running exe to another application at run-time. What I want as a result of query is, list (rows) of members, where all references of the member are "collected" in one column. What I had achieved is following query, but for this one there exist a row for each Reference. var refs = (from m in db.Members join r in db.References on m.PID equals r.PID into g from o in g.DefaultIfEmpty() select new { member = m, name = (o == null ? "" : o.NameSurname) }); I feel I need to insert SelectMany somewher :) Could you please give hints on achieving the goal?

  A simple question regarding how NHibernate works: I have a parent entity that has a collection of other child entities. Those child entities have a reference to the parent entity they belong to. Now I want to implement an Add method to the parent entity that would add a child to it. Should that Add method only add the child to its new parents collection, or should it also update the parent reference of the child or should it also remove the added entity from its previous parents collection? Do I have to do all these things in that method or will NHibernate do something for me? Thanks.

• Do fields need to be explicitly final to have a "proper" immutable object?

  You often read about immutable objects requiring final fields to be immutable in Java. Is this in fact the case, or is it simply enough to have no public mutability and not actually mutate the state? For example, if you have an immutable object built by the builder pattern, you could do it by having the builder assign the individual fields as it builds, or having the builder hold the fields itself and ultimately return the immutable object by passing the values to its (private) constructor. Having the fields final has the obvious advantage of preventing implementation errors (such as allowing code to retain a reference to the builder and "building" the object multiple times while in fact mutating an existing object), but having the Builder store its data inside the object as it is built would seem to be DRYer. So the question is: Assuming the Builder does not leak the Object early and stops itself from modifying the object once built (say by setting its reference to the object as null) is there actually anything gained (such as improved thread safety) in the "immutability" of the object if the object's fields were made final instead?
