    We were getting this error when trying   to connect  to a password protected access file. This is what the connection string looked likestring conString =@"Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source="Path to your access file";User Id=;Password=password";To fix the issue this is what we didstring conString =@"Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source="Path to your access file";Jet OLEDB:Database Password=password";  We removed the User id and changed the password to Jet OLEDB:Database Password Hope this helps someone

  • Edubuntu boots in low graphics mode. with an Intel HD Graphics system

    I have a HD Intel graphics card in my laptop. It was working fine the first few days with the new version Edubuntu. Now when you start, just before it goes to the part asking for the login password I think the OP means lightdm it sends me to a low graphics mode. Things I've tried: I tried Ctl+Alt+F1. Updated and installed fglrx from the terminal. All my work is all stored there. Please, if anyone knows how to fix this, tell me.     After running with a somewhat disconnected set of tools (vs 2008, Ontime, sharepoint 2007) for managing our projects we decided to make the move to Team Foundation Server 2010.  With limited coverage of the product available online i went in search of a book and found this… View this book on the Wrox website I must point out that i have only read 10 of the 26 chapters so far, mainly the ones that cover source code control, work item tracking and database projects.  This enables our dev team to get familiar with it before switching project management over at a future date. Needless to say i am very impressed with the detail it provides, answering pretty much every question i had about TFS so far.  I'm looking forward to digging into the sections on testing, code analysis and architecture. Highly recommended.

So I'd like to use some sort of visual tool to design the tables and relationships. I'm on a mac and have tried mysql workbench, but I find it buggy and a bit bloated for my intended use.   • How to instrument existing ASP.NET application?

    We have several highly complex ASP.NET web applications that are used internally by hundreds of users. We are trying to figure out which areas of the applications to invest in to improve functionality, but we aren't sure which screens/features are more heavily used. So, ideally, I'd like to find a way to add a layer of instrumentation to the applications that gathers metrics on which buttons are being clicked, which text boxes are being used, etc. Are there any products / open source apps out there that will do this sort of instrumentation for ASP.NET? Obviously I could do it myself manually by going into the code and injecting logging statements everywhere but this would be a significant amount of work that will be hard to accomplish.

  • 'Development dashboard' web application

    Hi all, I am not sure if something like this exists in that it is ready out of the box. I currently have some web space that I use for various projects, and I would like to setup an area for some friends and I to develop web applications together. My ideal setup would be to create a folder, say, webdev.domain.com. We could all go to this domain, login, and then be able to setup new applications, pick which language will be used, setup database tables, allow HTML based file uploading, and create sub-folders to basically have a test bed for the applications. In retrospect, it seems like I'm describing a limited version of cpanel. I could come up with something in Drupal I'm sure, but I don't want to have to really spend time configuring much. Like I said, I want to install it and have minimal configuration. Does something like this exist (preferably in open-source)?

  • Launch an arbitrary application with a specific icon

    I'm thinking about customizing my Windows 7's application icons, so that they all follow a specific theme (Token-like icons). This would involve using Resource Hacker (or similar) to patch each .exe. Not only this would be tiresome, but also it would require doing it again at each update of each application (nevermind that some could break just because it was tampered with). Instead, is there any way to launch an application with a specific icon? Ideally it would be something from the command-line (so I can make a shortcut), like this: launchwithicon.exe --app C:\myapp.exe --icon C:\myicon.ico Note that while it is possible to do something similar by setting the taskbar to "always combine, hide labels", I do not like this approach and instead am looking for something that works without combining the taskbar icons.

    Andei fazendo uns testes no AJAX Control Toolkit 4 que deverá ser usado com o ASP.NET 4 no Visual Studio .NET 2010 e confesso que gostei muito. O link para download é http://www.asp.net/ajaxlibrary/act.ashx e todas as instruções constam no site. Notei que há diversos controles novos e um que me chamou a atenção foi o de Upload assíncrono para controlar os uploads de arquivos para o server. Vale a pena estudar um pouco estas novidades. Para quem já usava o AJAX no ASP.NET 3.5, a idéia do Toolkit é igual, exceto a adição de novos controles. Com o AJAX vc pode mudar todo o comportamento da sua aplicação WEB, requisições no server passam a ser menos frequentes, o layout ajuda e muito com os controles do AJAX. Nativamente no VS 2010 já há o AJAX que a MS suporta nativamente (ScriptManager, UpdatePanel, UpdateProgress, etc), mas vale a pena implementar alguns controles do Toolkit. Bons estudos!
