  • Sphinx - delimiters

    Hi, I would like to know if the Sphinx engine works with any delimiters (like commas and periods in normal MySQL). My question comes from the urge, not to use them at all, but to escape them or at least thay they don't enter in conflict when performing MATCH operations with FULLTEXT searches, since I have problems dealing with them in MySQL by default and I would prefer not to be forced to replace those delimiters by any other characters to provide a good set of results. Sorry if I'm saying something stupid, but I don't have experience with Sphinx or other complementary (?) search engines. To give you an example, if I perform a search with "Passat 2.0 TDI" MySQL by default would identify the period in this case as a delimiter and since the "2" and "0" are too short to be considered words by default, the results would be a bit messed up. Is it easy to handle with Sphinx (or other search engine)? I'm open to suggestions. This is for a large project, with probably more than 500.000 possible records (not trivial at all). Cheers!

  • Center text inside a circle on a canvas

    I have the coordinates of the center of a circle where I need to draw some text. The circle may be larger or smaller depending on the attributes I have specified. I have set the center horizontally using mTextBrush.setTextAlign(Align.CENTER);. The problem is that I can't figure out a way to center the text vertically.     I need to set a text area in the html template and use it as a custom component in vaadin the html snippet is as below <table> <tr> <td> JUNK SENTENCE </td> <td> <div location="HEADIN"></div> <div location="Details"></div> <div location="Attachment"></div> </td> <td> <p>School of more than 50 students univer versities.</p> </td> </tr> </table> All the place holders are working and displays data but the "details" holder should be a text area. as the text is a lot over there so I tried the below way but it just turned the place holder to text vaadin could not manipulate / identify the "Details" place holder. I tried the below way i set - in side the text area tag. <textarea rows="4" cols="50"> </textarea> and again i tried this way too which also did not work. <textarea rows="4" cols="50" location="Details"> </textarea> Any guidance would be appreciated to solve this I am setting the needed values from a formfeildfactory and these values are set by implementing the Vaadin Custom field class(in case it helps some more to identify)

    I know how to add to clipboard with JavaScript, but what I want now is TechCrunch clipboard trick; when someone copies some text ( ctrl+c, right click copy, clicking on a copy link on-site ), additional text is added to the clipboard ( like "this text was copied from ... ). I know they use Tynt, but don't really know is this a feature you get with it or custom coded?

  • Measure text size in JavaScript

    I want to measure the size of a text in JavaScript. So far this isn't so difficult because I can simply put a temporary invisible div into the DOM tree and check the offsetWidth and offsetHeight. The problem is, I want to do this BEFORE the DOM is ready. Here is a stub: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> var text = "Hello world"; var fontFamily = "Arial"; var fontSize = 12; var size = measureText(text, fontSize, fontFamily); function measureText(text, fontSize, fontFamily) { // TODO Implement me! } </script> </head> <body> </body> </html> Again: I KNOW how to do it asynchronously when DOM (or body) signals that it is ready. But I want to do it synchronously right in the header as shown in the stub above. Any ideas how I can accomplish this? My current opinion is that this is impossible but maybe someone has a crazy idea.

    Hi! I'm developping a web application that will be used either in Europe or in Asia (specially Japan -Hiragana, Kanji and Katana-, China and Korea). I'm using the following fonts: - ericssonga628.TTF - HelveticaNeueLTStd-Lt.otf - HelveticaNeueLTStd-LtEx.otf - HelveticaNeueLTStd-Bd.otf - HelveticaNeueLTStd-BdEx.otf When I tried to display Japanese characters, I don't get anything. I guess these fonts don't support East Asian characters... Do you know of any equivalent fonts? Also, I was thinking of creating a CSS for each language (or pack of languages) when the user changes the display language. For example, if the user selects "japanese", I'll use the japanese stylesheet. However, how do I switch from a CSS to another? Thanks in advance for your answers. Regards,

    In my project, I am trying to open a text file. Well the below code works but when the user click the button again and again, many files are being opened. (which I dont want) System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(filePath); I also tried Link , File.Open and File.OpenText which are not opening the text file and also not showing any error (tried with try catch block) File.Open(filePath); (or) File.OpenText(filePath); (or) FileStream fileStream = new FileStream(filePath, FileMode.Open); I also tried this: (ERROR : Cannot be accessed with instance reference qualify with a type name instead) System.Diagnostics.Process proc = new System.Diagnostics.Process(); proc.Start(filePath); /*red scribbles here*/ proc.WaitForExit(); How to show only one instance of the Text file(.txt). am I doing something wrong in my attempts? please suggest. EDIT: I want to open other text files afterwards but not the same and also the application should be accessible after opening a text file(or many). I have only one form.

  • Stop node containing subnodes and text in schema

    If I have some xml like this: <mynode> <mysubnode> <mysubsubnode>hello world</mysubsubnode> some more text </mysubnode> </mynode> As you can see, mysubnode contains both a subnode and some text data. What I want to know is, is it possible to prevent this happening in a schema? I don't want nodes to contain subnodes and text, just subnodes or text. Is there an option in my xsd I can specify to force this? My program to that uses this xml is written in .NET, so I'll tag it as well incase there's anything of use in .net that I can utilise for this, though I'd much rather that the issue was fixed in the schema itself.   • Textbox is disabled after adding text dynamically in codebehind

    Can't quite work out what is happening but The background is that I am dynamically adding table rows in a web page and some of the cells hold controls such as dropdowns etc. One of the columns pulls a size into it. However the column I am having issues with is the next column which takes the text from teh previous dropdown and shows the appropriate price. On doing htis however the textbox which is being created appears to turn into a label as I cannot select or adjust the text that has been put in there. var gotPrice =(from a in getPrice.Sizes where a.Size1 == Size.SelectedValue select a).First(); TextBox Price = new TextBox(); Price.Width = 100; PriceField.Controls.Add(Price); PriceField.Text = gotPrice.RackRate.ToString(); I have tried then calling .Enabled but still the text box is not editable. any help appreciated.

    In PHP, is there a reliable and good way of getting these things: Protocol: i.e. http or https Servername: e.g. localhost Portnumber: e.g. 8080 I can get the server name using $_SERVER['SERVER_NAME']. I can kind of get the protocol but I don't think it's perfect: if(strtolower(substr($_SERVER["SERVER_PROTOCOL"],0,5))=='https') { return "https"; } else { return "http"; } I don't know how to get the port number though. The port numbers I am using are not 80.. they are 8080 and 8888. Thank you.

    i am exploring the option of whether DoCmd.TransferText will do what i need, and it seems like it wont. i need to insert data if it does not exist and update it if it does exist i am planning to read a text file line by line like this: Dim intFile As Integer Dim strLine As String intFile = FreeFile() Open myFile For Input As #intFile Line Input #intFile, strLine Close #intFile i guess each individual line will be a record. it will probably be comma separated and some fields will have a " text qualifier because within the field itself i will have commas my question is how would i read a comma delimited text file that has double quotes sometimes as text qualifiers into a table in access?
