The application have a good internet connection and there is no problem reaching the app server-side api. I see in analytics that lots of startups and click-events the past few days are lost, even I know the traffic is normal since i can see statistics from the the server api. In the analytics reports I see a day by day under-reporting. So the problems seems to be spreading/growing to all the devices using this application. Im wondering why google does not answer this in their mail-groups - several people have complained about this...well, well... I found this thread relevant: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/682560/java-net-socketexception-broken-pipe But, I'm still not sure if there is anything I can do to fix it or not. If there is nothing I can do to fix it, I guess its not my fault that it got broken. But i got a feeling it is, since the problem got dramatically worse on the last deploy to Android market. Anyone else with experience on Google Analytics for android ?

• Google maps API - info window height and panning

  I'm using the Google maps API (v2) to display a country overlay over a world map. The data comes from a KML file, which contains coords for the polygons along with a HTML description for each country. This description is displayed in the 'info window' speech bubble when that country is clicked on. I had some trouble initially as the info windows were not expanding to the size of the HTML content they contained, so the longer ones would spill over the edges (this seems to be a common problem). I was able to work around this by resetting the info window to a specific height as follows: GEvent.addListener(map, "infowindowopen", function(iw) { iw = map.getInfoWindow(); iw.reset(iw.getPoint(), iw.getTabs(), new GSize(300, 295), null, null); }); Not ideal, but it works. However now, when the info windows are opened the top part of them is sometimes obscured by the edges of the map, as the map does not pan to a position where all of the content can be viewed. So my questions: Is there any way to get the info windows to automatically use a height appropriate to their content, to avoid having to fix to a set pixel height? If fixing the height is the only option, is there any way to get the map to pan to a more appropriate position when the info windows open? I know that the map class has a panTo() method, but I can't see a way to calculate what the correct coords would be.   I'm revising this question after reading the resources mentioned in the original answers and working through implementing it. I'm using the google maps api to integrate a map into my Rails site. I have a markets model with the following columns: ID, name, address, lat, lng. On my markets/index view, I want to populate a map with all the markets in my markets table. I'm trying to output @markets as json data, and that's where I'm running into problems. I have the basic map displaying, but right now it's just a blank map. I'm following the tutorials very closely, but I can't get the markers to generate dynamically from the json. Any help is much appreciated! • Inserting Google Maps into a WYSIWYG editor, then saving and retrieving properly

  Hi, I'm trying to extend jWysiwyg with an function to add a map from Google Maps. I can get the map all right, but I'm having problems with how to handle the generated map so it can be saved with the page and then retrieved. To open the process up a bit: User enters editor which is created using jWysiwyg. User clicks on a button which asks for an address, then returns the corresponding latitude and longitude. I use this location information to create a map using Google Maps API (V3), which I then insert into the editable WYSIWYG area. When I save the page, the whole Google generated HTML gets saved into the database, which will not work properly when opened next time (I get a grey box when I open up the page again). Now, the problem is that I need to insert the map in such a format that it will work afterwards (perhaps using <script> tags). I also need the map to be visible in the WYSIWYG editor itself, so I cannot just put in a placeholder tag which would later be populated with the correct map data. So, in short; how would you insert a Google Map into a WYSIWYG editor in a way that it is both visible/previewable from the editor itself and could also be saved in a format that would work properly when opened the next time?

The issue is that when the redirect handler gets called, it starts an infinite loop of redirection. I tried using an HTTP 302 redirection in place of the JavaScript but that kept failing too. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? I saw this similar question but there are no answers.

  I have setup a project using both Jdo and Jpa. I used Jpa Annotation to Declare my Entity. Then I setup my testCases based on LocalTestHelper (from Google App Engine Documentation). • Google Map GEO Results

  Hey All I'm getting really frustrated with google geo results and hope someone can advise me the best was to go. I have created a AutoSuggest feature where you can start typing the address and google will repspond with suggestions. User then selects and address to move on. But before I want them to continue on the next page I want to validate their selection. I would have thought this will be easy as we are only checking against what google has already given. But when I do my validation lookup it displays no results. Some example code: Lets say I picked from the suggestion this address: Suffield, CT 06078, USA Then on validation I do a second lookup with this address ie. $string = "Suffield, CT 06078, USA"; echo 'http://maps.google.com/maps/geo?output=json&oe=utf8&gl=us&sensor=false&key=[MyKey]&q='.urlencode($string).''; It gives me Error code 602 (G_GEO_UNKNOWN_ADDRESS) How can it not be found when its given me the address ?? • PHP CURL Google Calendar using Private URL

  I'm trying to get an array of events from Google Calendar using the Private URL. I read the Google API document but I want to try doing this without using the ZEND library since I have no idea what the eventual server file structure is and avoid having other people edit the codes. I also did a search before posting and ran into the same condition where PHP CURL_EXEC returns false with the URL but I get a JSON file if the URL is open using a web browser. Since I'm using the Private URL, do I really need to authenticate against the Google server using ZEND? • having a test debug app and a released debug app side by side

  Yo! When I download my app from the iStore, the latest test version installed to my phone gets over written. Does anyone know how to have two versions of the same app side by side? On a test project, I edited the build settings so that "realease" and "debug" have different product names. This seemed to solve my problem, however when I try this same trick on my actual project, the two overwrite each other again. Does anyone have a recommendation? I don't mind how it's done. Thanks!   I have a website that provides a custom UX experience implemented via JavaScript. When JavaScript is disabled in the browser the website falls back to CSS for the layout. To make this possible I've added a noJS class to the <body> and quickly remove it via JavaScript. <body class="noJS layout-wide"> <script type="text/javascript">var b=document.getElementById("body");b.className=b.className.replace("noJS","");</script> This caused a problem when the page loads and JavaScript is enabled. The body immediately has it's noJS class removed, and this causes the layout to appear messed up until the JavaScript code for layout is executed (at bottom of the page). To solve this I hide each article via JavaScript by adding a CSS class fix which is display:none as each article is loaded. <article id="q-3217">....</article> <script type="text/javascript">var b=document.getElementById("q-3217");b.className=b.className+" fix";</script> After the page is ready I show all the articles in the correct layout. I've read many times in Google's documentation not to hide content. So I'm worried that the Google will penalize my website for doing this.

• Portlet container like pluto or jetspeed on google app engine?

  I am trying to build something "portlet server"-ish on the google app engine. (as open source) I'd like to use the JSR168/286 standards, but I think that the restrictions of the app engine will make it somewhere between tricky and impossible. Has anyone tried to run jetspeed or an application that uses pluto internally on the google app engine? Based on my current knowledge of portlets and the google app engine I'm anticipating these problems: A war file with portlets is from the deployment standpoint more or less a complete webapp (yes, I know that it doesn't really work without a portal server). The war file may contain it's own web.xml etc. This makes deployment on the app engine rather difficult, because the apps are not visible to each other, so all portlet containing archives need to be included in the war file of the deployed "app engine based portal server". The "portlets" are (at least in liferay) started as permanent servlet processes, based on their portlet.xmls and web.xmls which is located in the same spot for every portlet archive that is loaded. I think this may be problematic in the app engine, because everything is in one big "web app", so it may be tricky to access the portlet.xmls from each archive. This prevents a 100% compatibility in my opinion. Is here anyone who has any experience with the combination of portlets and the app engine? Do you think it's feasible to modify jetspeed, pluto or any other portlet container to be able to run it on the app engine?

  I am struggling to find a good tutorial or best practices document for the use of memcache in app engine. I'm pretty happy with it on the level presented in the docs. Get an object by ID, checking memcache first, but I'm unclear on things like: If you cache a query, is there an accepted method for ensuring that the cache is cleared/updated when an object stored in that query is updated. What are the effects of using ReferenceProperties ? If a cache a Foo object with a Bar reference. Is my foo.bar in memcache too and in need of clearing down if it gets updated from some other part of my application. I don't expect answers to this here (unless you are feeling particularly generous!), but pointers to things I could read would be very gratefully received.
