  • python union of 2 nested lists with index

    - by sbas
I want to get the union of 2 nested lists plus an index to the common values. I have two lists like A = [[1,2,3],[4,5,6],[7,8,9]] and B = [[1,2,3,4],[3,3,5,7]] but the length of each list is about 100 000. To A belongs an index vector with len(A): I = [2,3,4] What I want is to find all sublists in B where the first 3 elements are equal to a sublist in A. In this example I want to get B[0] returned ([1,2,3,4]) because its first three elements are equal to A[0]. In addition, I also want the index to A[0] in this example, that is I[0]. I tried different things, but nothing worked so far :( First I tried this: Common = [] for i in range(len(B)): if B[i][:3] in A: id = [I[x] for x,y in enumerate(A) if y == B[i][:3]][0] ctdCommon.append([int(id)] + B[i]) But that takes ages, or never finishes Then I transformed A and B into sets and took the union from both, which was very quick, but then I don't know how to get the corresponding indices Does anyone have an idea?

  • Application development using google applications?

    - by Ali
Hi guys I'm developing a collaboration system and our team has been at it for the past couple of years. However the boss suggested that we try and redevelop it using something robust. Basically our collaboration system incorporates a webmail client and a custom built contacts management system plus project management system. My boss likes the robustness of GMAIL and Google docs and really would like a solution that if possible could incorporate these two and other google applications - I'm not so sure how to get started on developing a custom application using google applications - especially consider the fact that in the long run we wish to host our collaboration system as a paid service - just like the services that 37signals basecamp and highrise have been.

  • Does it make sense to use a NSFetchedResultsController without an UITableViewController? How are the

    - by dontWatchMyProfile
I mean... could I also just create a plain old UIViewController and then set up a UITableView myself, plus an NSFetchedResultsController? How much do UITableViewController and NSFetchedResultsController interact with eachother? As far as I see it, UITableViewController is NOT by default already adopting the NSFetchedResultsControllerDelegate protocol. It almost looks like if UITableViewController has been developed without knowing about NSFetchedResultsController. Probably they even did that before developing FRC. Anyways, just a raw guess because the UITableViewController lacks of mentioning FRC at all. So the only thing I see in UITableViewController is that it is already the delegate for a UITableView by adopting the protocol, and it sets up the UITableView instance for me and assigns it internally to it's tableView property. Is that the whole magic of UITableViewController? (note: the nsfetchedresultscontrolle tag is not a typo. SO has a limit for the num of chars...too bad for that missing r, that's why I avoided this tag in my other buch of questions like the plague)

  • Add a link to a JQueryUI autocomplete item

    - by Tordek
When a user starts typing on the searchbox, the suggestion page returns the latest item from all collections matching that nama, plus other data. I'd like to show that item (along its image), and a link to "see all items from this collection". I can do (most of) that with the following code: $('#search').autocomplete({ source: function (request, response) { $.ajax({ url: suggesturl, dataType: 'json', data: request, success: function (data) { response(data.map(function (value) { return { 'label': '<img src="' + value.thumbsmall + '" />' + value.name + '<a href="/">More items from this collection...</a>', 'value': value.fullname }; })); } }); }, minLength: 3 }) The problem is that, although the link appears in the box, when it's clicked it gets ignored, and the default select action is executed (the item's value is put into the textbox).

  • Setting treeview background color in VB6 has a flaw - help?

    - by RenMan
I have successfully implemented this method of using the Win32 API to set the background color of a treeview in VB 6: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/178491 However, one thing goes wrong: when you expand the tree nodes more than two levels deep, the area to the left of (and sometimes under) the inner plus [+] and minus [-] signs is still white. Does anyone know how to get this area to the correct background color, too? Note: I'm also setting the BackColor of each node, and also the BackColor of the treeview's imagelist. Here's my version of the code: Public Sub TreeView_SetBackgroundColor(TreeView As MSComctlLib.TreeView, BackgroundColor As Long) Dim lStyle As Long, Node As MSComctlLib.Node For Each Node In TreeView.Nodes Node.BackColor = BackgroundColor Next TreeView.ImageList.BackColor = BackgroundColor Call SendMessage( _ TreeView.hwnd, _ TVM_SETBKCOLOR, _ 0, _ ByVal BackgroundColor) 'Now reset the style so that the tree lines appear properly. lStyle = GetWindowLong(TreeView.hwnd, GWL_STYLE) Call SetWindowLong(TreeView.hwnd, GWL_STYLE, lStyle - TVS_HASLINES) Call SetWindowLong(TreeView.hwnd, GWL_STYLE, lStyle) End Sub

  • Co-Authors Wordpress Plugin: coauthors_wp_list_authors function not working correctly

    - by rayne
    The Co-Authors Plus Plugin for Wordpress has a very annoying bug. The custom function coauthors_wp_list_authors lists authors the same way the wordpress function wp_list_authors does, but it does not include authors in the list who don't have a post of their own - if they have only entries in which they are listed as co-author but not as author, they will not be included in the list. That is of course missing a very important point. I've looked at the faulty SQL statement, but unfortunately my knowledge of advanced SQL, especially when it comes to JOINs, as well as my knowledge of the wp database structure is too limited and I remain clueless. There is a topic in the WP support forum, but unfortunately the information there is very outdated and the fix is not applicable anymore. I couldn't find any other, more current solutions on the internet. I'd be glad if somewhere here could help fix the SQL statement so it also lists co-authors who don't have posts where they're the sole author, as well as display the correct post count for all authors. Here's the entire function for reference purposes with a comment marking the SQL statement: function coauthors_wp_list_authors($args = '') { global $wpdb, $coauthors_plus; $defaults = array( 'optioncount' => false, 'exclude_admin' => true, 'show_fullname' => false, 'hide_empty' => true, 'feed' => '', 'feed_image' => '', 'feed_type' => '', 'echo' => true, 'style' => 'list', 'html' => true ); $r = wp_parse_args( $args, $defaults ); extract($r, EXTR_SKIP); $return = ''; $authors = $wpdb->get_results("SELECT ID, user_nicename from $wpdb->users " . ($exclude_admin ? "WHERE user_login <> 'admin' " : '') . "ORDER BY display_name"); $author_count = array(); # this is the SQL statement which doesn't work correctly: $query = "SELECT DISTINCT $wpdb->users.ID AS post_author, $wpdb->terms.name AS user_name, $wpdb->term_taxonomy.count AS count"; $query .= " FROM $wpdb->posts"; $query .= " INNER JOIN $wpdb->term_relationships ON ($wpdb->posts.ID = $wpdb->term_relationships.object_id)"; $query .= " INNER JOIN $wpdb->term_taxonomy ON ($wpdb->term_relationships.term_taxonomy_id = $wpdb->term_taxonomy.term_taxonomy_id)"; $query .= " INNER JOIN $wpdb->terms ON ($wpdb->term_taxonomy.term_id = $wpdb->terms.term_id)"; $query .= " INNER JOIN $wpdb->users ON ($wpdb->terms.name = $wpdb->users.user_login)"; $query .= " WHERE post_type = 'post' AND " . get_private_posts_cap_sql( 'post' ); $query .= " AND $wpdb->term_taxonomy.taxonomy = '$coauthors_plus->coauthor_taxonomy'"; $query .= " GROUP BY post_author"; foreach ((array) $wpdb->get_results($query) as $row) { $author_count[$row->post_author] = $row->count; } foreach ( (array) $authors as $author ) { $link = ''; $author = get_userdata( $author->ID ); $posts = (isset($author_count[$author->ID])) ? $author_count[$author->ID] : 0; $name = $author->display_name; if ( $show_fullname && ($author->first_name != '' && $author->last_name != '') ) $name = "$author->first_name $author->last_name"; if( !$html ) { if ( $posts == 0 ) { if ( ! $hide_empty ) $return .= $name .   • How to include asp.net assets when using Team Build 2008

    - by bonskijr
I am able to configure our Build Server (Team Build 2008) to build our asp.net application. I've done so via <ConfigurationToBuild Include="Debug|Mixed Platforms"> <FlavorToBuild>Debug</FlavorToBuild> <PlatformToBuild>Mixed Platforms</PlatformToBuild> </ConfigurationToBuild> Problem though, the asp.net assets(eg. script folders, imgs, etc.) are not copied to the deployment folder. Folder(_PublishedWebsites) only contains the binaries references of the app plus the pre-compiled web services. Is there a way to include said folders/files to the deployment folder? Thanks

  • Is there anything RAD comparable to VCL?

    - by mawg
After years in embedded programming, I have to develop a Windows app. I dug out my old C++ Builder and Delphi. These are great and the latest version costs over $1k, so I won't be going there. What I prarticularly like is the VCL (visual component library) which let's me code my own components and share them with others, plus the thousands of existing 3rd party components. I noticed that there is now also a RAD PHP from Borland too. I realzie that MSVC, QT, NetBeans, etc are good enough IDEs for RAD, BUT does anything offer the ease of the Borland products for developing additional components - and does anything else have thousands to choose from? PC based? Cross-platform is good. Browser based? Free is always good ;-) I don't particularly care about the programming language.

  • iPhone SDK Smaller CAF files: lower recording quality with Audio Queues?

    - by Nick
In my iPhone app I have voice recording functionality the utilizes Audio Queue voice recording functions of the SDK. I'm saving directly to CAF format and using the following settings for the AudioStreamBasicDescription reference: audioFormat.mFormatID = kAudioFormatLinearPCM; I can see that there are other format ids I could use like: kAudioFormatLinearPCM kAudioFormatAppleLossless kAudioFormatAppleIMA4 kAudioFormatiLBC kAudioFormatULaw kAudioFormatALaw My knowledge of sound formats is very limited so my question is... which of these should I use to create the lowest compressed audio recording files? Plus, are there other settings I should apply to lower the quality and filesize even further?

  • Embedded BI for ASP.NET

    - by Michael Shimmins
Can anyone recommend a decent business intelligence & reporting application that can be integrated into an OEM application? Primary requirements are: Administrators can define cubes/dimensions etc (or we - the OEM - can predefine some) Report designers can easily inspect data by visually selecting dimensions, filters etc in an adhoc way that is quickly output with little upfront investment Report designers can design a report based on dimensions/filters and save their definition to be run as required Report viewers can view the reports defined by the report designers All of this plus in .NET that can be branded/integrated into our existing web application's look and feel. Permissions need to work off our user/groups system. I've found a few that look good, but they are all in Java and I don't want to ask our clients to install ASP.NET for the app, and then Java, tomcat etc just for reporting. Thanks

  • NDepend query methods/types in framework assembly being used by other assemblies/types

    - by icelava
I am trying to determine which types or methods in a base framework assembly are being used by other assemblies in the application system. I cannot seem to find a straight-cut query to do that. What i have to do is first determine which assemblies are directly using the framework assembly, then manually list them in a second query SELECT TYPES FROM ASSEMBLIES "IBM.Data.DB2" WHERE IsDirectlyUsedBy "ASSEMBLY:FirstDirectUsedByAssebmly" OR IsDirectlyUsedBy "ASSEMBLY:SecondDirectUsedByAssebmly" OR IsDirectlyUsedBy "ASSEMBLY:ThirdDirectUsedByAssebmly" OR IsDirectlyUsedBy "ASSEMBLY:FourthDirectUsedByAssebmly" Is there a better/faster way to query for this? Additionally, the query results are focused on the matched types only. The Dependency graph or matrix exported only shows details of those. I do not know how to render a graph that shows those types or methods plus show the dependent types/methods from other assemblies that are consuming them?

  • Text editor with spell checker that ignores (X)HTML/CSS/javascript tags?

    - by Luis Soeiro
Do you know of any text editor that can be used with a spell checker which is smart enough to ignore XHML/CSS and javascript tags? The requirements would be: It must run in Linux; It must be free and open source; It doesn't need to have WYSIWYG capabilities, but they would be welcome. It must have built in "tag skipping" capabilities or be configurable to skip (X)HTML tags, CSS and embedded Javascript; It doesn't need to have a HTML validator, but if it does it will be a plus; I've tried to use spell checker plugins for Kate, HTML validators for Firefox, Eclipse's HTML editor, but I couldn't find a solution that have a speel checker that ignores hml tags. Thanks for any help, Luís

  • Uploadify works for Visual Studio but not for IIS 7(same machines), using Forms authentication. Doe

    - by Marc
I'm using the Uploadify jQuery control for client-side uploads. I think my IIS 7 configuration has issues with it. The uploadify POST immediately returns a HTTP 1.1 302 Found, back to my login page. I've tried to allow anonymous access to the uploading section(subfolder) plus the page(script) that processes the image in the web.config, using the location node(configuration ... location). Seems like the Uploadify post is immediately blocked. Again, this worked fine just using Visual Studio 2008, but when I run the site on the same machine I get the redirect. Your thoughts/ideas are very welcomed!

  • Graphical Countdown in Jquery/Javascript/ASP.NET

    - by Eduard Schlechtinger
Hi designers/developers, I am looking for a way of graphically showing a countdown. I am working for a large Hospital and have written an Ambulance page that shows ambulance arriving in a datagrid with the time of arriving at the hospital in minutes and seconds (plus other info). They have asked me for somehow visually representing the information, so it fits with there other visually appealing Emergency Department web application (e.g. progress bar or something better): 1) Can somebody show me (visually appealing) design examples on how this could be done 2) Are there solutions in .Net (ASP.net or JQuery or Javascript) since this is our preferred technology Thanks so much!

  • How to use VisualStyleRenderer in Windows 7?

    - by Paulo Santos
In a small project of mine I've came across the need of a collapsible group box. Searching the Net, I've found one here. In one of the comments there's an improvement on the original code that uses the VisualStyleRenderer class in order to acquire the TreeView open and closed glyph. Running the code it draws properly the Plus and Minus sing as Windows XP would draw it, however in Windows Vista and Windows 7 the glyph for open and closed nodes are small triangles. What kind of interface, class or PInvoke, I need to use in order to acquire the right glyph?

I'm guessing.. script/generate migration AddMonthsToClass beginDate:datetime #through endDate:datetime I apologize ahead of time if my question sounds retarded! Sorry! :D

  • Parsing Wiki XML Dumps ver0.4 just got tough

    - by syed
Hello, I am trying to parse Wikipedia XML Dump using "Parse-MediaWikiDump-1.0.4" along with "Wikiprep.pl" script. I guess this script works fine with ver0.3 Wiki XML Dumps but not with the latest ver0.4 Dumps. I get the following error. Can't locate object method "page" via package "Parse::MediaWikiDump::Pages" at wikiprep.pl line 390. Also, under the "Parse-MediaWikiDump-1.0.4" documentation @ http://search.cpan.org/~triddle/Parse-MediaWikiDump-1.0.4/lib/Parse/MediaWikiDump/Pages.pm, I read "LIMITATIONS Version 0.4 This class was updated to support version 0.4 dump files from a MediaWiki instance but it does not currently support any of the new information available in those files." Any work arounds would help me get to the next level. Note: one may wonder why cannot we directly use SAX or STAX parser instead, wikipedia dump is a 25GB plus single file, stack/memory issues are obvious. Hence, the above perl script resolves this issue but currently I am stuck with this version problem.

  • Best package for basic web-based file manager

    - by alchemical
I'm looking for a basic web-based file management application. It must have an affordable price, and fairly easy installation would be a plus. ASP.Net / IIS based would be easiest for me to work with. Basically, I'd like it to create a secure web site where myself and a few people can exchange various types of files, etc. I'm looking for a package I can install on my own server rather than a web-based service, as I think I can get more space at a good price point this way. I could go custom coding, but I figure this is such a generic need, there must be something already mature out there at a decent price. What has worked best for you?

  • Collection of MVC CSS files available?

    - by Jaxidian
Just curious - are there various customized Site.css files (and accompanying images) that work with the default ASP.NET MVC 2 templates? I'm a stereotypical developer who "doesn't do pretty" so I'd like to find a design that is good enough for me to use until I later have a designer come back and fix my design. Are there collections/libraries of various designs out there that work with the default templates? I did find this but the 2 popular ones I tried seem like they're for MVC 1, plus they in no way used the default tags with the MVC 2 templates.

  • Is there a jquery List plugin that will auto-sort items and has robust add/remove methods?

    - by Breadtruck
I have been googling for hours looking for something to handle my situation. I am not skilled enough to write my own jquery plugin ..YET!! The plugin should auto-sort the list, not as important as being able to add/remove items from the list easily. Themeroller capable would be a plus. I would basically use anything as long as I could add a item to the list (or any other container for that matter), item is coming from a modal popup that is using ajax to search for the item. Once the item is found I want to click that item and have it added to the list and it would put it into the correct order based on alphabetic sort. I think where I am losing sight is the complexity of the item and needing to have the item contain: The name of the item a hidden value, [the int id of the item], one or two checkboxes for turning on/off a feature for that item. I am really open to any ideas, suggestions on a better process, or a pointer to a plugin that might get me close.

  • trying to decide between asp.net and jsp

    - by Amir
Hey Guys, I am wondering if anyone can shed some lights on the situation. I am about to start a project and trying to figure out what solution is best to go with asp.net or java jsp pages I have personally worked alot with .net and am really happy with the framework and Visual studio as IDE I find it easy to work with and there is a massive community support behind .net, i can get alot done quickly I have not every written anything use java jsp, there will be a learning curve here , so my experience is limited here. however after seeing jira i am very impressed with its capabilities, it has changed alot since the old days ( java 1.2 ) that i used to work with, and the fact that it runs under linux is a huge plus, so i am trying to decide is the learning curve, worth the price ? so given the situation above what would you recommended? Thanks, Amir
