  • AS3 Font embedding problem in ComboBox on a loaded movie clip

    Hi all, I have three movie clips, say, LoaderMC, ChildMC1, and ChildMC2. ChildMC1 has TLFTextfields in it with embedded fonts. ChildMC2 has both TLFTextfields as well as combo boxes.(with embedded fonts) When I compile those movieclips separately, I can view the combo box texts without any problem. If I load the ChildMC1 and ChildMC2 into the LoaderMC, the texts doesn't appear at all on both TLFtextfields and Combo Boxes. I tried embedding the fonts in the LoaderMC, then, TLFTextfields was able to show the texts but still the ComboBoxes couldn't display the text. If I don't embed the fonts in the combo box, I can able to view the texts. What could be the problem? I read an article which says, "No one has completely understood the font embedding in flash AS3, we just have to do trial and error, to get it done" I don't know how far it is true, but in my case it seems, I should agree! Please help me...

  • Spring validator default message codes not resolving

    Hi all, I have a custom spring validator which has the following default message: public @interface FieldMatch { String message() default "au.com.xxx.website.FieldMatchValidation"; ... The problem I'm having is that the message code is not being resolved and <form:error...> is simply displaying the code rather than the message (Which is in a properties file which is being used by a ResourceBundleMessageSource). I've also tried this as String message() default "{au.com.xxx.website.FieldMatchValidation}"; Which causes the message source to crash with an exception indicating that it thinks that the "{}" brackets should contain a number because it thinks it's a parameter place holder. I think that the issue is that the message code is not being seen as a message code and therefore not resolved, but I cannot figure out why. Any suggestions?

  • Embedding a CMS in an MVC Web App

    I'm working on a website for searching for businesses, then displaying a listing page. We've been toying with the idea of letting the clients manage their listing page using an external CMS. I'm not sure how often this is done, or if it's even best practice. Ideally, we want to be able to setup a listing on our website, then give the clients access to an external CRM when they can manage their listing page. We then want to embed this custom page within our website, possibly using an iframe (which will come along with it's own set of complications). We'd like this integration to be as seamless as possible. I'd personally prefer it if we could directly inject the HTML into our own page and bypass an iframe all together, but I don't know of any CMS hosting services that provide the interface for such a thing. We've experimented a little with Squarespace, and we can get a fairly clean version of someone's page which would be well suited for an iframe. I'm wondering if anyone else has looked and integrating an external hosting CMS into a website (in this case, we're using ASP.NET MVC). We'd also want to automate the creation of accounts on this external CMS, so when a user signed up we could just point them to the website with some login details. I have no idea if anyone offers a service like this, but any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. We could host a service ourself too, but the aim is to have an external system that clients can use to manage their pages. Cheers, James

    I am talking about rails resource_controller gem plugin here: Basically when I am doing json format, I would like to completely suppress the flash notice if possible, trying to call flash "" will fail, while calling flash[:notice]="" doesn't look really nice either. Is there some better approach?

  • .net c# cannot find img resources when open with exe

    Hello, My exe processes text documents and I want to be able to right click on documents, select open with and point to my exe file. I can double click on my exe and choose a file to process with OpenFileDialog and it works fine. However, when I do open with, I get FileNotFound error.     The UIPerfomance plugin is an easy way to speed up your web pages by applying some of the best practices rules from Yahoo performance team (like minifying, setting a far-future expires header, versioned images...) Unfortunately I didn't find a way to store the static resources in a location outside of the webapplication which has his own advantages ( smaller WAR sizes, better optimize cookieless server, static resources served faster by a highly optimized native httpd, no need to redeploy WAR when updating static resources..). So my question is: is it possible to use this great plugin with static resoures stored outside the web application? And if yes, how?

  • Eclipse getResourceAsStream returning null

    I cannot get getResourceAsStream to find a file. I have put the file in the top level dir, target dir, etc, etc and have tried it with a "/" in front as well. Everytime it returns null. Any suggestions ?   • IE7 not Caching CSS Image over SSL

    Hello, I'm using the WebDevHelper toolbar for Internet Explorer to troubleshoot HTTP requests/roundtrips on my SSL site and noticed that IE re-downloads my CSS :hover images every time they are triggered. This causes a huge amount of roundtrips. How can I prevent this from happening? Edit: All static content is served with cache-control: public, so images, javascript etc. are cached in Firefox and Chrome. This problem is IE specific.

    I've had a bunch of EAGAIN's from trying to fork() or spawning threads, which lead me to believe that I'm leaking resources somewhere. Is it possible, in POSIX, to get the following from inside the process itself: number of active pthreads number of active child processes number of active pipes number of active sockets (or maybe this and pipes would be counted as file descriptors?) Or do these have to be counted manually? There's already counters for them, but I think one of them are leaking.

  • Help System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager find a type in a non-referenced assembly

    I'm trying to write a plug-in system where assemblies can be dropped in a folder that ASP.NET has no knowledge about. This plug-in system works fine for ASP.NET MVC based assemblies, but for old-school WebForm assemblies (where the .aspx files Inherits the System.Web.UI.Page derived classes) System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager is responsible for compiling the .aspx file into a dynamic assembly. My problem is that the BuildManager knows nothing about the assemblies within my plug-in folder and it seems to be absolutely nothing I can do to help it. If I do: BuildManager.GetType("Type.Defined.In.Plugin.Assembly", true, true) it throws. If I first get a reference to the Type and then try: var instance = BuildManager.CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath(path, type); it still throws, even though I've now passed in the specific type it needs to compile the .aspx file. Is there anything I can do to help BuildManager find the types it needs to compile the .aspx file?

  • Flash CS 4 / AS 2 + Dynamic Text + Html + Embedded fonts...

    I have this scenario: 1) I have a dynamic text that receives its data from a XML. 2) The texts showed get theirs style from a CSS file. 3) My dynamic text has a html 'span' tag and it's formatted according to the CSS class that it's passed via the XML file. Ok... so far so good. It's something like: _root.txt.txtDica = "<span class='"+ node.childNodes[_global.auxCont].attributes.myStyle +"'>" + node.childNodes[_global.auxCont].attributes.myText+ "</span>"; The problem is that the swf has a poor quality text. So, I've been looking around, found some things about embedded fonts, Flash TextField() and etc. But, nothing seems to work. Does anyone know how can I generate this html tag in a dynamic text with a good quality? It's worth to say that I'm using regular fonts, such as Verdana and Arial. Thanks a lot!

  • C# DLL: Need to know when application is closing

    Is there a way to monitor when an application that is using the dll closes? The DLL and the application are both C#, neither are Windows Forms. I can check when the main application is closing, but I would like for the DLL to see "hey the program is closing and releasing me, I should do this real quick before I die". Any way to do it? Or am I stuck having the application dish out "do this before you die"?

  • Hundreds of custom UserControls create thousands of USER Objects

    I'm creating a dashboard application that shows hundreds of "items" on a FlowLayoutPanel. Each "item" is a UserControl that is made up of 12 or labels. My app queries a database and then creates an "item" instance for each record, populating ethe labels and textboxes with data before adding it to the FlowLayoutPanel. After adding about 560 items to the panel, I noticed that the USER Objects count in my Task Manager had gone up to about 7300, which was much much larger than any other app on my machine. I did a quick spot of mental arithmetic (OK, I might have used calc.exe) and figured that 560 * 13 (12 labels plus the UserControl itself) is 7280. So that suddenly gave away where all the objects were coming from... Knowing that there is a 10,000 USER object limit before windows throws in the towel, I'm trying to figure better ways of drawing these items onto the FlowLayoutPanel. My ideas so far are as follows: 1) User-draw the "item", using graphics.DrawText and DrawImage in place of many of the labels. I'm hoping that this will mean 1 item = 1 USER Object, not 13. 2) Have 1 instance of the "item", then for each record, populate the instance and use the Control.DrawToBitmap() method to grab an image and then use that in the FlowLayoutPanel (or similar) So... Does anyone have any other suggestions ??? P.S. It's a zoomable interface, so I have already ruled out "Paging" as there is a requirement to see all items at once :( Thanks everyone.

For example I got two packages: package program package sounds From inside the program/something.class I'd like to play the sounds/asound.wav. How is this possible. clip.open(AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream(new File(filename))); clip.start(); //.... something inbetween clip.stop(); Here filename is C:\\projects\\something\\sounds\\, but how is it possible to just give a relative path to the asound.wav in the package?

    I have made a Java Swing Desktop application in Netbeans which can play media files I have put the videos in my workspace resources location and in my java program I am calling those media files using an URL which is something like this: C:/users/Dell/My Documents /NetBeansProjects/Media/src/resources/ MediaFiles/ddd.mpg This works well when I run in my IDE and also i have made Jar for this it works well on my computer but the problem is when i copy this jar file on my friends system the interface is coming but when I click a button to play a media file it says: C:/users/Dell/MyDocuments/NetBeansProjects/Media/src/resources/ MediaFiles/ddd.mpg does not exist So, please provide me a solution of how to set the default path so that when I run a jar file on other systems it should play the media file location I am passing as in my program. How to set the path for the location of media files in program? Update The videos are in the jar file.

  • Where should common static resources (images, js, css, etc) go in DotNetNuke?

    Is there a recommended location to store static resources (images, css, js, etc) in a DotNetNuke 5.x installation? There are /images and /js folders as well as a /Resources folder that contains resources. There appears to be some overlap as MicrosoftAjax.js is in multiple locations (but might be different versions?). I also could put resources in a /DesktopModule/ModuleX location. Does anyone know if there is a difference in using any of these folders? I kinda like the idea of all static resources being under a common folder (/Resources) so I could set caching rule headers, permissions, etc on them in one place.     I have the following scenario. I show the user some audio files from the server. The user clicks on one, then onFileSelected is eventually executed with both the selected folder and file. What the function does is change the source from the embedded object. So in a way, it is a preview of the selected file before accepting it and save the user's choice. A visual aid. HTML <embed src="/resources/audio/_webbook_0001/embed_test.mp3" type="audio/mpeg" id="audio_file"> JavaScript function onFileSelected(file, directory) { jQuery('embed#audio_file').attr('src', '/resources/audio/'+directory+'/'+file); }; Now, this works fine in Firefox, but Safari and Chrome simply refuse to change the source, regardless of Operating System. jQuery finds the object (jQuery.size() returns 1), it executes the code, but no change in the HTML Code. Why does Safari prevent me from changing the <embed> source and how can I circumvent this?

    The age old question. <object> vs <embed>. From what I gather, <object> is the XHTML-compliant way of doing things, while <embed> is for legacy support. I'm currently building a Flash application that will contain a pre-made embedding code for users to copy and paste, and I'm wondering if it's feasible to simply dump the <embed> tag altogether. Which browsers would be unable to load my application if I gave my users an <object>-only embed code? Thanks :)
