    I have the standalone Hyper-V Server 2012 running and I'm trying to create the first VM on it but I'm getting the following error: From my research, this error comes up with something related to the Intel IPMI driver but I have an Asus motherboard so I didn't think it was the problem. However, I ran the ResetAccess.exe fix anyways and to no surprise it said something like "This version of Windows does not require this fix". Thank you

    An unhandled exception ('System.Net.Sockets.SocketException') occurred in w3wp.exe [9740]. Just-In-Time debugging this exception failed with the following error: Debugger could not be started because no user is logged on. We're getting the above error in the Application log. Is there a way to capture a .NET stack trace that doesn't require user interactivity?

  • installing SNMP in Windows x32 Customized Image

    I'm working in a environment of 40 machines, I've already installed snmp in 38 machines normally, but 2 of them appear to have been installed with a customized windows image, there is no OptionalFeatures, there is no ocsetup.exe, so I could not able to install SNMP. I tried to copy OptionalFeatures and ocsetup from another machine, but it don't work. For now I cannot simple format these two computer, it's possible to install it using another way?     I was wondering how we can change the Win-E key combination to another target besides the default C:\. I've tried changing the shortcut in Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Windows Explorer to %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe "C:\My Folder\", in case Win-E references this shortcut, but that did not help. Any ideas?

In contrast to regular installation, we 1st download the .exe or .deb and install it. So, how is it possible via web? I have "iexplore.exe" set to 8888 (decimal mode) under MACHINE, but it's still coming up documentMode = 5. I thought 8888 was suppose to force IE8 Standards Mode whether you have a doctype or not. What is going on?

  • Cygwin's RSYNC for large data transfer

    I'm using rsync from Cygwin to do a large scale data transfer from an aging HP MSA 1000 to a new DAS attached to a different server. I have a daemon running on the remote server in read only mode and a local copy writing the files to disk. One of my servers is an image repository with over a million files spread across about 300 directories. Each file averages only a couple hundred kilobytes. More so than any other box this one is proving problematic. The rsync process will work for a while - some times 20 minutes, some times an hour - and then it simply quits and sits idle at a given file name. I have verified that the file isn't corrupt on the remote server and that the file is successfully created on the local drive. I ran the rsync client in -vv mode, which returns nothing. I checked out the logs created by the daemon. I looked at the network utilization on the interface, which is sitting idle. I looked at the AV settings to see if anything could pose a problem there. I even updated to the latest release of Cygwin. What do I need to in order to keep this connection up? EDIT: The client system is using the command rsync.exe server::Drives/f/Repo/ /cygdrive/T/Repo --archive -P -vv The server is using the command rsync.exe --daemon --no-detach --config "rsyncd.conf" The contents of rsyncd.conf: use chroot = false strict modes = false hosts allow = 192.168.100.9 log file = c:/rsyncd.log uid=0 gid=0 [Drives] path = /cygdrive read only = yes EDIT: The file server is 2003, the disk type on the array is GPT and the size is of the array is about 4 TB. EDIT: Stranger.. It looks like the process is reliably erroring out at about 175,000 files. Rsync runs fine when I pick the same directory it has problems with one at a time.     I can re-order 'cmd' tabs in Conemu ( as per Is that possible to reorder tabs in ConEmu?), but the WinAltLeft and WinAltRight shortcuts do not work if the tab has a Cygwin shell in it. I have tried various combinations of hotkey modifiers but none of them seem to work with the Cygwin shell. This is problematic because most of the tabs in my ConEmu have Cygwin shells. I open a Cygwin shell using the following command: C:\cygwin\bin\mintty.exe -i /Cygwin-Terminal.ico -

    I need to write a batch program to end all MS office communicator tasks with window titles (usually ending with pattern "- Conversation" . I tried taskkill /FI "WINDOWTITLE eq *Conversation" /IM communicator.exe but the wildcard pattern starting with a '*' does not seem to work. Gives the folowing error ERROR: The search filter cannot be recognized. any suggestions for a workaround would be greatly appreciated!

  • Windows Service Limit Crashes Services on Startup

    We have developed a custom Windows service in C# as part of a large Enterprise application. Our QA department tests multiple versions of this service. The QA lab has several (over 20) copies of this service installed on one Windows 2003 test box. Each copy is in its own folder and has a unique service name, though each executable file is named the same (OurWindowsService.exe, for example). Each service uses the same Windows credentials (a domain user). The purpose of this service is to handle MSMQ messages. The queued messages do all sorts of important stuff. For some reason, they can run only 5 of these services at a time. When we start a 6th, the service crashes on startup. For example, I can start #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5. When I start #6, it crashes. However, if I stop #1 and start #6, #6 runs fine, and now #1 fails to start. When the services crash, the following error appears in the Windows event log: Faulting application OurWindowsService.exe, version 5.40.1.1, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.2.3790.4480, fault address 0x0000bef7. I was able to use WinDbg to generate a postmortem dump file.     For 3 days now I've been unable to boot into my Windows 7 partition, and all my research has been to no avail. I'm hoping someone here has more ideas on how to fix this. When I boot up now, I get the black screen with BCD error that says theres no valid file system or it may be corrupt (pardon my lack of detail, no copy/paste is available then). When I boot with the Windows 7 disc and go into repair tools, no operating system is found, and attempting to automatically repair the problem fails with Unknown Operating System (Unknown Disk) or something similar. When I drop into the command prompt, I am able to see and navigate my C:\ drive without issue. I attempt to use bootrec: C:\> bootrec /ScanOS Finds C:\Windows as a system partition. C:\> bootrec /RebuildBCD Fails with volume does not contain a recognized file system. please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted. So then I attempt to fix the bootsector: C:\> bootsect /nt60 C: /force Which completes successfully (sorry, no output..) Upon rebooting, I have the same problem. I've also tried all of the above after making my Windows partition active: C:\> diskpart DISKPART> select disk 1 DISKPART> select partition 1 DISKPART> active DISKPART> exit Then bootrec as above, both with and without a reboot after the DISKPART commands. Then I've also tried rebuilding the BCD store by hand: set systemdrive=C: set tempbcd=C:\boot\bcd.temp set tempfile=C:\boot\temp.txt bcdedit -createstore %tempbcd% bcdedit.exe -store %tempbcd% -create {bootmgr} -d "Windows Boot Manager" bcdedit -store %tempbcd% -create -d "Windows Vista" -application osloader>%tempfile% set /p winvistaguid= <%tempfile% set winvistaguid=%winvistaguid:~10,38% bcdedit -store %tempbcd% -set %winvistaguid% osdevice partition=%systemdrive% bcdedit -store %tempbcd% -set %winvistaguid% device partition=%systemdrive% bcdedit -store %tempbcd% -set %winvistaguid% path \Windows\system32\winload.exe bcdedit -store %tempbcd% -set %winvistaguid% systemroot \Windows bcdedit -import %tempbcd% However on the import, I get my familiar friendly message: volume does not contain a recognized file system. please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted I'm at my wits end here, and I cannot understand why Windows refuses to see this as a valid install. I really, really do not want to reformat and reinstall. I know this problem can be solved!

I want to create a dvd disk that essentailly has 2 purposes: When a DVD is inserted into a standard DVD player it plays like a normal DVD film, i.e. you get the DVD menu and you can play the movie When you insert the dvd into a pc it auto launches an exe file and behaves like a normal data disk.
