  • How to Package and Deploy Eclipse Java Application

    Before I begin, I'm new to eclipse, please keep that in mind when replying. :) Here is the situation, I have built an java application that has some dependencies (~10 of them). I would like to easily package this application up and deploy it as a single file to a CD or usb drive. My question is there doesn't seem to be any "nice" wizard to search the project, grab the dependencies and setup the classpath on the target computer. Seems to me I have to do this manually. Is there a better way. Something simple, easy and straight forward. A link to a tutorial on this would be great. Seems to me that this should be a built-in feature to eclipse. Deployment of a web application seems easy enough, but not a java application. Thanks!

    The application packaging (software deliverables) is a vague concept to me. I worked in web application before so all I know how to prepare the deliverables ie WAR and then put them into the servlet container and rest of this being taken care of. But when considering other java or c++-based application (.exe or .class) how to prepare the package? What should be considered for preparation of the package and deployment of the application? Like I understand there should be some entries made into the windows registry or some libraries to be put in /usr/bin directory and so on. And during the development phase the execution and testing is done in more informal manner like writing some shell script or so on. But the deployment scenario is a more formal thing. As I said I have only the idea of deploying web applications I am not much knowledgeable in the other areas. Are there any kind of conventions like there are conventions for documentations like javadoc or doxygen/man pages? Application packaging is not that sort of a thing that there are much discussion on books or online materials. This is very disappointing.

  • Windows Server TCP Client application in c# Stops working after a while

    I am developping an application in C# Net framework 2.0. It is basicly a service application with a tcp client class. Class for Tcp Client Part public TelnetConnection(string Hostname, int Port) { host = Hostname; prt = Port; try { tcpSocket = new TcpClient(Hostname, Port); } catch (Exception e) { //Console.WriteLine(e.Message); } } The application is connecting to the server and revieves update's and more information. It works for about 20 minutes then stops recieving information from the server. -- Server side Client is still connected and the client side its still connected but stops receiving information from the server.   • Third party Application's Idle Session expiry

    We have a third party application running. It shows login dialog when idle for 20 minutes. We need to prevent the application to display login screen. We do not have any idea how idle state is handled internally in that application. We have done the follwoing with no luck. Created an small application in c# which focus it after every 5 minutes (using SetForegroundWindow()) and send a BM_CLICK message to one of its child window. Does not work. focus it after every 5 minutes (using SetForegroundWindow()) and move the cursor few pixels then restore cursor at its previous position. This does not work too! Is there any other way to achieve the goal?

    Is it possible to create an application for Android, which can generate a video signal (HDMI or VGA) via USB? Any Android device has miniUSB port. Theoretically it's possible to create a small commutator device on microcontroller or microscheme, which will be a USB-host for Android device. You'll connect Android device with commutator and then connect commutator with monitor. For example, the scheme looks like: Android phone - commutator (USB-host) - TV/Monitor. Summary, I need to connect android phone with TV via miniUSB port. I found soft which can use miniUSB - HDMI cable, but those apps only for Motorolla Droid and HTC Evo. I'll glad to get links to existing apps or projects on that theme, to info about software generation HDMI-signal and connecting Android devices with another devices. I am wondering how big application/ platform break down there application in to multiple module and how they able to manage modules dependencies. For example in some E-commerce application they tend to break down it in various modules like pricing,promotions,shipping.import/export and many more. when we develop those application we hardly think about the underlying modules and how they have been designed to provides functionalists. Most of those module are not web-applications but are standalone module and not deployed in the web-app as jar files. can any one help me to understand how they break up things or is there any standard way to do this.any help/resources to get insight will really be helpful

  • Restoring and passing data to an already running instance of a .NET application

    The goal is to have an application that runs in the system tray and can either accept user input from its actual GUI (which isn't the actual issue) OR accept command line parameters (that would actually be done via a context menu in windows explorer). Now, while I'm aware that the command line parameters are not exactly possible once the application has started, I need a way to pass data to the already running application instance via some form of handler. I'm thinking maybe define and raise some sort of event? Thanks in advance.

    Can anyone recommend a good book on Javascript module/application development. I'm a Software Engineer, so I don't need all the intro to programming stuff. What I'm really looking for is: How do you bundle the html/css/javascript together so that you can make one include that will load the whole application. I.e.: <div id="myapplication"></div> ... ... <script src="myapplication.js"> Design patterns are always welcome. I've already read Javascript the good parts, and online guides, but it's hard to find a comprehensive guide/tutorial for specifically this. There's a lot of good "this is a javascript application" and "this is a scalable framework", but I haven't had any luck with "This is how you build a javascript application, including the html and css, and this is how you deliver it nicely". I'm building a small application to start, so I'm not interested in scalability and large-scale development practices, just a nice and comprehensive guide to get me off the ground.

Customers using the MPL should migrate to Oracle Service Bus. ·         No provided Crystal Reports/Business Objects Interface – Oracle Utilities Application Framework V4.2.0.0.0 or above does not ship with a supported Crystal Reports/Business Objects Interface. This facility is now available as downloadable customization for existing or new customers. Responsibility for maintenance and new features is now individual customer's responsibility. ·         XAI Servlet deprecation – The XAI Servlet (xaiserver and classicxai) will be removed in the next release of the Oracle Utilities Application Framework.
