  • newbie problems with codeigniter

    hi, i'm trying to learn codeigniter (following a book) but don't understand why the web page comes out empty. my controller is class Welcome extends Controller { function Welcome() { parent::Controller(); } function index() { $data['title'] = "Welcome to Claudia's Kids"; $data['navlist'] = $this->MCats->getCategoriesNav(); $data['mainf'] = $this->MProducts->getMainFeature(); $skip = $data['mainf']['id']; $data['sidef'] = $this->MProducts->getRandomProducts(3, $skip); $data['main'] = "home"; $this->load->vars($data); $this->load->view('template'); } the view is: <--doctype declaration etc etc.. --> </head> <body> <div id="wrapper"> <div id="header"> <?php $this->load->view('header');?> </div> <div id='nav'> <?php $this->load->view('navigation');?> </div> <div id="main"> <?php $this->load->view($main);?> </div> <div id="footer"> <?php $this->load->view('footer');?> </div> </div> </body> </html> Now I know the model is passing back the right variables, but the page appears completely blank. I would expect at least to see an error, or the basic html structure, but the page is just empty. Moreover, the controller doesn't work even if I modify it as follows: function index() { echo "hello."; } What am I doing wrong? Everything was working until I made some changes to the model - but even if I delete all those new changes, the page is still blank.. i'm really confused! thanks, P.

    To illustrate: class Customer has_many :sales_orders end class SalesOrder belongs_to :customer end i want to have customer to list sales_order which is ready to be sent, should i: put the routing http://.../sales_orders/can_be_delivered or create a new controller for reporting http://.../reports/sales_orders_can_be_delivered for the 1st one, what should goes in the route.rb? for the 2nd one, nothing goes in route.rb, we can use the last defined route which is :controller/:action.. <-- but this isn't named route any ideas for this kind of problem?

  • OpenGL ES functions not accepting values originating outside of it's view

    I've been unable to figure this out on my own. I currently have an Open GLES setup where a view controller both updates a game world (with a dt), fetches the data I need to render, passes it off to an EAGLView through two structures (built of Apple's ES1Renderer), and draws the scene. Whenever a value originates outside of the Open GL view, it can't be used to either translate objects using glTranslatef, or set up the scene using glOrthof. If I assign a new value to something, it will work - even if it is the exact same number. The two structures I have each contain a variety of floating-point numbers and booleans, along with two arrays. I can log the values from within my renderer - they make it there - but I receive errors from OpenGL if I try to do anything with them. No crashes result, but the glOrthof call doesn't work if I don't set the camera values to anything different. Code used to set up scene: [EAGLContext setCurrentContext:context]; glBindFramebufferOES(GL_FRAMEBUFFER_OES, viewFramebuffer); //clears the color buffer bit glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT); glMatrixMode(GL_PROJECTION); //sets up the scene w/ ortho projection glViewport(0, 0, 320, 480); glLoadIdentity(); glOrthof(320, 0, dynamicData.cam_x2, dynamicData.cam_x1, 1.0, -1.0); glClearColor(1.0, 1.0, 1.0, 1.0); /*error checking code here*/ "dynamicData" (which is replaced every frame) is created within my game simulation. From within my controller, I call a method (w/in my simulation) that returns it, and pass the result on to the EAGLView, which passes it on to the renderer. I haven't been able to come up with a better solution for this - suggestions in this regard would be greatly appreciated as well. Also, this function doesn't work as well (values originate in the same place): glTranslatef(dynamicData.ship_x, dynamicData.ship_y, 0.0); Thanks in advance.   • How to avoid index.php in Zend Framework?

    I'm using the Zend Router and so things like (/ and /index.php) or (/about and /index.php/about) ends up as the same here. However, /index.php/whatever should not exist as it is the exactly same resource as /whatever so it doesn't make a sense the duplication. How do I avoid this? Even http://zendframework.com/manual/en/zend.controller.router.html and http://zendframework.com/index.php/manual/en/zend.controller.router.html both exists. It doesn't make any sense at all...

  • Set dropDownList to contain one value only, mvc3

    I have this in my controller: ViewBag.PriceListId = new SelectList(m_db.PriceLists, "Id", "Name", us.PriceListId); It contains two values now, but I want to enable the user to choose only the second value, and just if he does something else - allow him choose one of the both values. How do I omit the first value, and add and set him to default after that? Shoud I do it in my controller or use jquery? Thank in advance.

  • DavCInt User Agent and Options Verb Requests

    We are getting quite a few errors in our logs where the user agent is DavCInt and verb is OPTIONS. Does anyone know who/what might be making this type of request? We are using ASP.NET MVC and all of our controller actions are decorated with HttpGet or HttpPost as appropriate so a controller supporting the request is of course not found. I know I can deny verbs in the web.config but I am looking for any insight before I do so.

    In Ruby on Rails, routes.rb, if we create a "named route" map.something ":a/:b", :controller => 'foobar' it will also create something_path and something_url which are two methods usable in the controller and in the view. Does map.connect create something like that too? Otherwise, isn't map.connect somewhat disadvantaged in this way? I checked that connect_path and connect_url both aren't created automatically.

    Guys, I'm having trouble understanding why I can't seem to stub this controller method :load_user, since all of my tests fail if I change the actual implementation of :load_user to not return and instance of @user.     I know I've seen this done before but I can't find the information anywhere. I need to be able to route with .html extensions in the Zend Framework. I.E. /controller/action.html should route to the appropriate controller / action. We have an idea to throw away the .html extension with our .htaccess file but I think changing the route config would be the better solution. Any advice is welcome.

I couldn't find any documentation related to actually allowing users to cancel asynchronous requests, however.
