  • Dynamic instant theming a la My Yahoo / iGoogle

    I can think of lots of ways to do this on my own, but I was hoping to find some sort of best practice and have been having trouble finding other's experiences. I want to create easily themed HTML and provide a real-time selector for the user to experiment with themes. I want to do something like the "Change Appearance" tab at http://my.yahoo.com . I'll be using jQuery. jQuery has a "theming" system, but it seems very much focused on jQuery widgets as opposed to the whole site, and also doesn't appear to address the real-time selection aspect (the jQuery page has this functionality, but I don't think it's part of the library.) Maybe there is a jQuery plugin that already does this? Or some sort of css/jQuery framework?

    I am building a project in asp.net 4.0. My navigation will be database driven where i return a datatable from the db containing all the pages of my site, some will be top level while others will be children and sometimes children of children n-times. Im thinking of going down the nested repeater route and databinding from code behind, dynamically generating repeaters for children, but have read that this is not a best practice and should consider the listview control. Im wanting to build a list of links using an unordered list. I cannot find a solid example and was hoping for some pointers/ideas. Thanks Doo

  • JS dynamic img change and SEO

    Hi all, I've built a web site using jquery to make nice transitions between content. The code works this way: there are 2 imgs (body and footer) when I click on a link (instead of going to another page) I fade out the 2 imgs and change the src attribute of the 2. When the new imgs are loaded I fade them back in. I'm using SWFaddress to allow user go directly to internal content. Now I'd like to make my content indexed by google and other Search engines, all the text content is inside the imgs, So I've got the text in ALT attribute. My question is: if a dinamically change the imgs ALT attribute using JS, will spiders be able to read it properly? consider that I'm using SWFaddress to create a sitemap.. Thanks

  • Loading an NSArray on iPhone from a dynamic data base url in PHP or ASP

    I have a database online that I would like to be able to load into an NSArray in my app. I can use arrayWithContentsOfURL with a static file, but I really need to go to a url that generates a plist file from the database and loading it into the array. I can use ASP or PHP. I tried setting the response type to "text/xml", but that doesn't help. Any thoughts?

  • Can't write to dynamic iframe using jQuery

    My goal is to dynamically create an iframe and write ad JavaScript into it using jQuery (e.g. Google AdSense script). My code works on Chrome, but fails intermittently in Firefox i.e. sometimes the ad script runs and renders the ad, and other times it doesn't. When it doesn't work, the script code itself shows up in the iframe. My guess is these intermittent failures occur because the iframe is not ready by the time I write to it. I have tried various iterations of *iframe_html* (my name for the function which is supposed to wait for the iframe to be ready), but no luck. Any help appreciated! PS: I have read various threads (e.g. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/205087/jquery-ready-in-a-dynamically-inserted-iframe).     I'm not sure if this is possible, is there a way to get the <mx:Form> to set its own height based on the position of an element within it? I tried using Alert.show to show these values and turned out submitBtn.y = 0 and submitBtn.height = 21. height sounds reasonable, but I know the submitBtn.y can't be 0 since it's below several other Is it possible to set the form height dynamically?

    Hello, the title says it all. I have seen some similar questions on SO like this or this, but either i have overlooked something or my requirement is different, neither works. My situation is following: i have a Masterpage one of its contentpage is called MasterData.aspx MasterData has an asp.net ajax tabcontainer control with one usercontrol in every tabpanel these usercontrols(f.e. MD_Customer.ascx)hold the main content(like a normal page) they all have GridViews in it and i want to provide an Excel-Export-Button What i've tried is is to use an iframe like here. But the function that adds the iframe to the document gets never called and therefore i never see the save-as-dialog. Maybe this is caused by using a MasterPage. Does somebody has an idea on how to provide a button in an UpdatePanel that causes an async postback, so that i can generate a CSV dynamically in codebehind and write it to the response?     Hi All, I want to create an application in WPF in which I have to create a gridview kind of control and in that I'll have two columns, first column is fixed but in the second column I have to create comboboxes at runtime. For example if I have a setting like <key="Level" Value="1,2,3,4,5"/> then the first column will have Level and the second column will have a combobox with values 1,2,3,4,5. Can anyone please suggest me the right WPF control to use in this scenario and how it can be done ?

    I'm trying to get a color picker javascript widget working in a page with a bunch of "stuff" in it that I can't change. Some of the "stuff" is causing the color picker to appear well below the link when clicked. What actually happens is that "div 1" appears well below "link 1". If you remove position: relative; from the CSS definition for divMain, "div 1" is positioned correctly. How can I position "div 1" directly beneath "link 1" without removing position: relative;?

    Hi Everyone, I am looking into the best way of doing the following: I have a model called Kase, and when a user creates a new case then are taken to the show view as you would expect. I am trying to work out what the best way of sending an automated email between those two events is. I would need to include in the email the content of a couple of the fields, ideally I am looking for a way of just typing out the email and adding the same snippets that are in the show view for each of the fields I need. I am using the Base App from Github so the email sending is already setup for the user authentication and registration, but I'm not sure where to begin. The reason I want to send the email is to create a new Case in our Highrise account, and I don't have a clue how to use the API. So I think the email sending is the easier way. Thanks, Danny

    I am building a C# application that is consuming a WSDL that is hosted by a server on our network. When I use the "Add Web Reference" functionality of Visual Studio, it works just fine, saving the ip address of the machine, etc. and the SOAP calls work without any issue. We are now making this entire application portable so that it can be installed in any environment. We would like to place all of our settings in one configuration file, so my question is this: Is it possible to somehow specify the IP address of the machine that is hosting the SOAP service in my configuration file and link everything dynamically at runtime?

  • ASP: runat=server for dynamic control

    In the Page_Load method I create a couple of controls, based on various conditions. I would like to register server side code with those controls. However, for the last part I need to declare my controls as server controls. This is normally done by runat=server, but I don't know how to set this attribute in the C# code. myControl.Attributes.Add("runat", "server") does not do the trick. This one works, meaning that the "test" method is called when I click on it: <asp:LinkButton ID="LinkButton1" runat="server" OnClick="test">testtext</asp:LinkButton> This one does not work: LinkButton lb = new LinkButton(); lb.ID = "LinkButton1"; lb.OnClientClick = "test"; lb.Text = "testtext"; lb.Attributes.Add("runat", "server"); I can click on it, and the page is loaded, but the test-method is not called. Any hints?

    I am in the process of porting a simple CSS grid system to GWT. My CSS file currently has classes like .size1, .size2 etc., and I have a CSS resource that looks like - class MyResource extends CSSResource { @ClassName("size1") String size1(); @ClassName("size2") String size2(); // And so on } However what I really want, is to have a single function like the following - String size(int size); which will generate the appropriate class when passed the size as an integer at runtime. This is needed as I perform some calculations to determine the actual space available/needed for a widget in javascript and then attach the appropriate class name. Is this something that is even possible with GWT?
