  • Tell VLC where to look for plugins.dat file

    I am trying to build vlc from source (I will include installation script below), but when I try to run vlc I get the following error main libvlc warning: cannot read /home/user/downloads/vlc3/vlc/src/.libs/vlc/plugins/plugins.dat (No such file or directory) Why is it even looking in that non existant directory? The plugins.dat file is in /usr/lib/vlc/plugins/. I tried export VLC_PLUGIN_PATH=/usr/lib/vlc/plugins/ But it still looks in that non existent path. I can create a symbolic link, but that is a terrible way to do it. If in 6 months I delete my downloads folder, all of a sudden my vlc will break.   • Help/Questions About New Team Foundation Server 2010 Installation

    Hello. Before starting down the TFS2010 installation process, I have a few questions I'm hoping the community can help me with. We're planning on a single-server installation of TFS2010. Initially, we want version/source control and build services, but not reporting or SharePoint. We may add reporting and SharePoint capabilities later. Our environment will be Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64), SQL Server 2008 R2 (x64), Office 2010 (x86), Visual Studio 6 and 2010, and, of course, Team Foundation Server 2010. Can I install TFS2010 on a server that is on our domain? It's not a domain controller, it's just a member server on the domain. Should I install TFS2010 before or after putting the server on the domain? We have six developers that will be logging into their local development computers (which are also on the same domain) using their domain user accounts, do I add each domain user to the TFS2010 server's security groups? If so, which one(s)? Can I or should I use a domain user account as the TFS2010 service account? Or, should I just use Network Service? The TFS2010 install guide notes that none of the service accounts should belong to the Administrators security group, so which security group(s) are recommended for the service account(s)? We're planning on using a local instance of SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard with TFS2010, what service account should we use? Should we use the same domain account as TFS2010 or Local System or ?? The TFS2010 install guide isn't very specific on this. Since we're planning on this server being both the version/source control and build server, should we install our development environments (VS6, VS2010, Access2010) before installing TFS2010? Or does it matter? Thanks in advance for answering these questions.

  • Change userSettings during MSI installation

    Hi, I am trying to modify the userSettings section (Properties.MyApp.Default) in the MyApp.exe.config file during the installation using an MSI installer. I basically implemented it like in this excellent article: http://raquila.com/software/configure-app-config-application-settings-during-msi-install/ The difference is that I am not editing the appSettings but the userSettings section. The problem is that although the code runs fine, the settings are not saved. After the installation the config file contains the old settings I use in my development environment. I also tried to override OnAfterInstall(System.Collections.IDictionary stateSaver) instead of Install(System.Collections.IDictionary stateSaver) but it doesn't make a difference. Here is the code that should change the config values: protected override void OnAfterInstall(IDictionary savedState) { base.OnAfterInstall(savedState); string targetDirectory = Context.Parameters["targetdir"]; string tvdbAccountID = Context.Parameters["TVDBACCID"]; // read other config elements...   • Purge complete Python installation on OS X

    I’m working on a recently-upgraded OS X Snow Leopard and MacPorts and I’m running into problems at every corner. The first problem is the sheer number of installed Python versions: altogether, there are four: 2.5, 2.6 and 3.0 in /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework 2.6 in /opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/ (MacPorts installation) So there are at least two useless/redundant versions: 2.5 and the redundant 2.6. Additionally, the pre-installed Python is giving me severe problems because some of the pre-installed libraries (in particular, scipy, numpy and matplotlib) don’t work properly. I am sorely tempted to purge the complete /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework path, as well as the MacPorts Python installation. After that, I’ll start from a clean slate by installing a properly configured Python, e.g. that from Enthought. Am I running headlong into trouble? Or is this a sane undertaking? (In particular, I need a working Python in the next few days and if I end up with a non-working Python this would be a catastrophe of medium proportions. On the other hand, some features I need from matplotlib aren’t working now.)

System is naming the file by default, but its diferent than names of pictures taken by orginal app(Time stamp). Is there easy way to set it up?

    I have a blackberry app that I am trying to deploy OTA (over the air). I have set the MIME type on my server to be: cod application/vnd.rim.cod jad text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor jar application/java-archive When I access the JAD file on my web-server through the BlackBerry Browser, I get the message Unsupported Media Type and then a prompt to download the JAD. How can I resolve this?

    Here is a code snippet from DirectShowNet library, used to open a video file: this.graphBuilder = (IGraphBuilder) new FilterGraph(); // Have the graph builder construct its the appropriate graph automatically hr = this.graphBuilder.RenderFile(filename, null); but the RenderFile method fails. At the same time, Windows Media Player opens the same file nicely. What can be the problem. I got the same behavior without DirectShowNet, but using native C++ code...

However I've updated an online drupal website and the player is not used. I can only see this message: "Use SwfTools Module to play FLV files if you only convert/upload FLV videos or FlowPlayer Module must be enabled in order to play FLV videos with other types." thanks

    Hi! Is it possible to get Flash Media Interactive Server working in conjunction with MogileFS? What it boils down to is that I need FMIS to fetch the FLV files from MogileFS over HTTP. As far as I can tell, however, the FMIS can only fetch and stream files from a local store :/ Anyone have experience with this or other ideas? Thanks!

  • Media Disconnected Networking Issue

    After rearranging my physical network in my apartment my Windows Vista machine can no longer connect to the network. I have tested all of the cabling by connecting other devices and everything is fine. I'm able to connect using other computers, I've even tested a brand new ethernet adapter and the network status still reads "media disconnected". I have no idea where to go from here. My setup is as follows: Cable modem - router - hardwired ethernet cable to computer.
