  • Page rank lost on subpage

    I have one question for PageRank. Maybe someone has an idea: I have this site: http://bit.ly/MyjVjA . 3 Days ago I had here PR5 and here were keywords as well. 3 days ago I have changed the site and set new keywords. Today I have loose the PR. The question is, why? I know other pages like this: bit.ly/Myk9qG or bit.ly/KtT2u1 and they have the same situation like me, with many keywords, but they have still PageRank. Is this because I have change the content of the site, or is there something, what I have made wrong to loose the good PR I had. How can I become it again? Thanks for all ideas! Best Regards Nik

  • How do I open an already opened file with a .net StreamReader?

    I have some .csv files which I'm using as part of a test bench. I can open them and read them without any problems unless I've already got the file open in Excel in which case I get an IOException: System.IO.IOException : The process cannot access the file 'TestData.csv' because it is being used by another process. This is a snippet from the test bench: using (CsvReader csv = new CsvReader(new StreamReader(new FileStream(fullFilePath, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read)), false)) { // Process the file } Is this a limitation of StreamReader? I can open the file in other applications (Notepad++ for example) so it can't be an O/S problem. Maybe I need to use some other class? If anyone knows how I can get round this (aside from closing excel!) I'd be very grateful.

  • Firefox application associations not working

    No matter what changes i make to file associations (actions) in the 'Applications' tab in firefox, they're totally ignored. For example, i set .wmv and .avi files to open with 'smplayer' but when i download a file and double-click on it (through the 'Downloads' window), it keeps opening with Totem player. I've tried to delete and recreate mimetypes.rdf but that didn't help. Any ideas on what else should i check?

    Hello, I am trying to setup a script for backing up a linux box to a CIFS share.   • Kickstart file is ignored by the installer

    I have fallowed this guide to create a kickstart file to install ubuntu automatically. However the problem is that when I boot the menu item label autoinstall menu label ^Auto install kernel /casper/vmlinuz append file=/cdrom/preseed/ubuntu.seed boot=casper initrd=/casper/initrd.lz file=/cdrom/ks.cfg -- it doesn't start the installer. I've tried using automatic-ubiquity as one of the parameters, but still it seems that kickstart file isn't used. Is there a way to make this work, or is there another way (preferably without using network, like FAI).

    Hi All, I am developing a small application in asp.net (writing in c#). In my application I am using jquery to perform asynchronous call to the server. I have an http handler that listens in to the requests and does what it needs to do. Problems start when in the handler I need to access information stored in the page , from where the asynchronous call started. When I try this: Page page = HttpContext.Current.Handler as Page; I don't get a page. How else can I access the page itself? Thank you

    I'm trying to build an application that builds a resource file into a jar, but I'd like to have the project runnable within eclipse. I have a basic maven 2 structure for my project, and I'm unsure how to read in the file such that it's found and used when run from the JAR or from within eclipse. Thought? Structure: src/main/java src/main/resources/file.txt Current reading method: getClass().getResourceAsStream("/file.txt") Is there reading method that will pick up src/main/resources/*, as well as the root level of the JAR (where resources are deployed)?

  • HTML overlay height to cover entire visible page

    I have a web page that loads some stuff using AJAX. I want to display an overlay with a loading indicator while the loading is in progress, so that the user cannot interact with most of the page - except the menu at the top. I'm using jQuery and the jQuery BlockUI plugin to do this. I call $(element).block() and it works fine, but the overlay only extends as far down as the current content of my page. As more content is loaded and added to the page the overlay moves down with it and this looks a bit ugly. Ideally I'd like it to cover the entire visible area of the page right from the start. A simple hack for doing this would be to set a large height value for the overlay, like this: $(myElement).block({ overlayCSS: { height: '10000px' } }); ... but this creates a scrollbar! How do I avoid this and make it just the right height to cover the visible page, but not enlarge it?

  • PerlIO in Windows PowerShell and CMD.exe

    Apparently, a Perl script I have results in two different output files depending on if I run it under Windows PowerShell, or cmd.exe. The script can be found at the bottom of this question. The file handle is opened with IO::File, I believe that PerlIO is doing some screwy stuff. It seems as if under cmd.exe the encoding chosen is much more compact encoding (4.09 KB), as compared to PowerShell which generates a file nearly twice the size (8.19 KB). This script takes a shell script and generates a Windows batch file. It seems like the one generated under cmd.exe is just regular ASCII (1 byte character), while the other one appears to be UTF-16 (first two bytes FF FE) Can someone verify and explain why PerlIO works differently under Windows Powershell than cmd.exe? Also, how do I explicitly get an ASCII-magic PerlIO filehandle using IO::File? Currently, only the file generated with cmd.exe is executable. The UTF-16 .bat (I think that's the encoding) is not executable by either PowerShell or cmd.exe.     In our web pages, we have a hyperlink with an href to an absolute URL: https://some.other.host.com/blah.aspx?var1=val1&var2=val2 For some reason, in our logs, we see a lot of requests to URLs of this format: http://our.site.com/https:/some.other.host.com/blah.aspx?var1=val1&var2=val2 We don't have any JavaScript that would request that URL; it only appears inside of a hyperlink. Is there some sort of known bot, browser plugin, bug, etc. that could be responsible for these requests being made?

  • How Can I Convert A VMware .vmdk File To A .iso File in Windows

    I recently obtained a copy of Mac OS Snow Leopard in VMware (.vmdk) format. It is incredibly slow when running virtualised and I would like to just install it directly to my machine dual booting with Windows 7 (32 bit). Is there any way preferably free that I can convert a VMware .vmdk image to an .iso I can burn to a DVD to boot from? I've seen this done in Linux and presume there is a way to do it in Windows as well. Downloading another copy that isn't a VMware image isn't an option considering my broadband plan is creeping closer to its limit for the month.

    When I startup my Ubuntu 12.04 installed on a Z77 Pro4 (ASrock motherboard), crucial M4 SSD drive (sata 3), and intel i5 3570k (ivy bridge), I get this black login screen : I also hear the ubuntu login sound "tic toc" but the screen is black, and if I type in some text, only strange characters appears (as you can see on the picture).     Hi, I am devolping a web application.the problem is that i am using a login control (not a .NET control) which is a part of master page and is acessible from all pages. if user log In from a page the login control updates itself and displlay some statistics of logged In user but the specific page does not reload. (some options on page are visible only to authenticated users, so that after login, page should be reloaded to display such options) after logIn methoed I wrote Reponse.Redirect(Request.Url.AbsoluteUri) after this the browser response the "Page cannot be displayed" It would be of great help to me.     I am using wamp and creating a Joomla template with changeable parameters. initially the message is The parameter file \templates\ssc_2010\params.ini is writable! once I make changes everything works as expected, except now i get the message: The parameter file \templates\ssc_2010\params.ini is unwritable! One solution is to brows to the directory, right click the file, select properties, and uncheck read-only. Again the file is writable but once I modify the parameters again it becomes read only again. I'm quite lazy and would like to prevent this from happening again, I've notice this happening in past projects, but now I have to work a lot with parameters so it becomes quite boring doing manual labor like that :P

    This is a tactical implementation question about usage of Vaadin or in some part of my application. Vaadin is a great framework to login users and implement sophisticated web applications with many pages. However, I think it is not very well suited to desgin pages to register new users for my application. Am I right? Am I am wrong? It seems to me that a simple HTML/CSS/Javascript login + email registration + confirmation email with confirmation link cannot be implemented easily with Vaadin. It seems like Vaadin would be overkill. Do you agree? Or am I missing something? I am looking for feedback from experienced Vaadin users.
