  • Installing sqlite on windows xp for ruby on rails?

    I've been trying to follow this guide to installing ruby and rails on my new machine. I'm having problems, however, when it comes to the sqlite gem. I installed the gem, which seemed to work perfectly. Then, however, it tells me to download a zip file from http://www.sqlite.org/sqlitedll-3_7_3.zip. When I do, the file is downloaded, but it doesn't seem to be a zip file. It has the icon of a microsoft word file, and clicking on it opens up Word but the file isn't opened, it just shows error messages. There is no option to extract the file, which is what the guide says to do. Is this a problem with sqlite or my machine? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello friends, I have four TabBarItem (TTTabItem) in a TabBar (TTTabBar). In one case, i want to remove the TabBarItem selection from any of the four TabBarItems (TTTabItem) . i.e., the complete TabBar will not show any TabBarItems selected. Can i achieve it? I tried the following, [_tabBar1 setSelectedTabItem:nil]; But it is crashing. Could someone guide me to resolve this? I need help urgently. (OR) If we clicked on one TabBarItem(TTTabItem), then again clicking on same TabBarItem(TTTabItem) will not call/execute anything right. Can i make it always clicking on a TabBarItem, should call "(void)tabBar: (UITabBar *)tabBar didSelectItem:(UITabBarItem *)item" (or) any other relevant system functions? I need your helps urgently, could someone guide me for my issue? Thank you.

    I am trying to implement sync adaptor, I have followed This guide. But onPerformSync() is not triggered after ContentResolver.requestSync() call . I have also tried some other tutorials and tried to run their code, but still same issue. Please tell me does I need to do some extra configuration for this.     Not sure if this is a silly question or not. Basically I'm figuring out how to run Mono on Linux, and I'm a Linux no0b. I've got everything up and running, but confused about fastcgi-mono-server. A lot of sites reference fastcgi-mono-server2 while other sites reference fastcgi-mono-server4 When I run: fastcgi-mono-server /version fastcgi-mono-server2.exe 2.10.0.0 I get the same version number for both. If I look at the Mono version Mono JIT compiler version 2.10.8.1 I'm wondering if the version on the mono-server corresponds to the mono version, and not the mono-server version. Is fastcgi-mono-server4 just a newer version?

  • Tomcat 7 taking ages to start up after upgrade

    I recently updated my server installation from Tomcat 6 to Tomcat 7, in order to take advantage of better connection pooling. My project uses Hibernate, for object persistance, a Mysql 5.5.20 database, and memcached for caching. When I was using Tomcat 6, Tomcat would start in about 8 seconds. After moving to Tomcat 7, it now takes between 75 - 80 seconds to start (this is on a Macbook pro 15", core i7 2Ghz, 8Gb of RAM). Could anyone shed some light on what might be causing this? Have I done something dense in my context.xml? Is hibernate perhaps to blame?

When I have purchased it, it could open the website : http://stackoverflow.com But, now from last 2 months, I am unable to open this website. :( I have changed my DNS server to 8.8.8.8 & Alternate server to 8.8.4.4. This both are the free google dns servers. But, still facing the same problem. For reference : http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using.html I am getting following error after loading : The server at stackoverflow.com is taking too long to respond.   • Tomcat can't talk to MySql after outage

    I missed a payment for my server and hey suspended my account for a day or so. When they brought the server back up all my data was in tact but for some reason Tomcat can't make a JDBC connection to my MySql server. They both run on the same machine and hence I have a bind address of 127.0.0.1. It's strange because I have reset the machine of my own accord before without issue but clearly something has been reset in the downtime. I followed this guide (Just the bits which don't concern S3, I am not on Amazon infrastructure) originally and everything worked as expected. I'm very new to being a SysAdmin and I'm not sure what to try, how would you go about diagnosing this issue?   • Use dns suffixes only on certain wireless networks?

    Hello all, quick question. I'm a software guy and networking is all black magic to me! I have a laptop which I use at home and at the office. In order to be able to more easily reference our servers at work, I have our domain name in the DNS suffixes on my TCP/IP settings on my wireless connection. This all works beautifully and I can reference our servers simply by name only. Now the problem... When I go home, it still has those suffixes in there, and I cannot access other servers because it appends the DNS suffixes to the server names. Is there a way I can set up DNS suffixes so that they are only applied when connected to a certain wireless network (I'm thinking by SSID).

    Suppose, a blog or a nice article was hosted on a website and it got deleted or worse the website was brought down. How do you view that web page? I tried searching for the cached version in Google. But, looks like the content was deleted long ago and is not listed in the search results directly. There are annotations to the link from many other sites, but still the actual content is not fully available. Now, can anybody help me see this page... I am actually looking for http://effectize.com/become-coolest-programmer :) And, moreover, in addition to bookmarking a favorite link, is it possible to cache the content of the link as well for later reference in case it gets deleted?   • Is it possible to define a virtual directory in IIS and make the files relative to the physical dir

    Is it possible to define a virtual directory in IIS and somehow make the files in that directory relative to the physical directory and not to the virtual directory ? For instance on my server I have the following folders: D:\WebSite\Css\myTheme.css, D:\WebSite\Images\image1.jpg I created a virtual directory on IIS resources.mysite: Inside my website I reference the sheet like this resources.mysite/myTheme.css But inside myTheme.css I reference pictures from ../Images/images1.jpg. So the problem is that image1.jpg is not found because it is relative to the physical folder and not the virtual folder on IIS. Can I solve this problem without modifying the style sheet ?
