    I have a table with different entries, each with different length. The height of each row should fit, so it can show the whole string.     Given an associative array (of the sort returned by jQuery.serializeArray()) like this: [ { 'name': 'abc', 'value': 'aaa', '__proto__': [Object] }, { 'name': 'def', 'value': 'bbb', '__proto__': [Object] }, { 'name': 'abc', 'value': 'ccc', '__proto__': [Object] } ] How can one convert this, using either jQuery or just javascript, to an associative array of name: [values] like this: { 'abc': ['aaa', 'ccc'], 'def': ['bbb'] } This seems to essentially be the inverse of this question: Build associative array based on values of another associative array... but in Javascript (not PHP).   • WPF databinding update comboxbox2 based on selection change in combobox1 with MVVM

    I have a combo box that I have bound to a list that exists in my viewmodel. Now when a users makes a selection in that combo box I want a second combo box to update its content. So, for example, combobox1 is States and combobox2 should contain only the Zipcodes of that state. But in my case I don't have a predefined lists before hand for combobox2, I need to go fetch from a db. Also, if needed, I could get all the potential values for combobox2 (for each combobox1 value) before hand, but I'd like to avoiding that if I can. How do I implement in WPF and using MVVM? I'm fairly new to this whole wpf\databinding\mvvm world.

To inject different implementation of a repository, I want to have a switch in app.config which changes all real implementation of a repository to a mock repositories. Lets say IRepository has two implementations RealRepository and MockRepository ForRequestedType() .TheDefaultIsConcreteType(); I want to have a switch in app.config / web.config say (Mock=1), which changes all real repositories implementation to ForRequestedType() .TheDefaultIsConcreteType(); I don't want to write whole plugin definition in app.config, just want one switch, how do I implement this?

    I have a menu composed of a single image (e.g., sprites). In order to display the hover image, I simply move the background image down. I'd like this effect to be controlled by jQuery and animated. This is a sample menu item. <ul> <li id="home"><a href="#"></a></li> </ul> This is what I'm toying with.   • Cannot change the target CPU to x86 Or x64 in Visual Studio 2005

    I am trying to build a website application and specify the target CPU as x86 instead of Any CPU. The only choices I have in Configuration Manager under the "Active solution platform:" drop-down list are: "Any CPU", "Edit..", and "New...". In the "Project Contexts" portion of the "Configuration Manager" window, it lists 3 columns: "Project", "Configuration" and "Platform". Under the "Platform" column, my only choice is ".Net". when the "Active solution configuration" is set to, "Debug". When the, ""Active solution configuration" is set to "Release", then I can choose either, ".Net" or "Any CPU" under the "Platform" column. I am using Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition. This website was previously built using Visual Studio .NET and was recently upgraded using the Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition Upgrade Wizard. I need to target x86 specifically because the are components used in the project that are only x86 compatible.

  • Change My.Settings ConnectionString in runtime?

    I have a ClickOnce deployment where i have a INI-settings file on the network file with "global" settings that is supposed to affect the program on all client computers. The problem i have is that i whant to have the Database connectionString stored in this INI file and have it read and stored in the My.Settings ConnectionString at program startup. How do i do this? The ConnectionString setting is Application scoped and therefore Read-Only, if i try to set it by My.Settings("ConnectionString") = "Source=server;Initial Catalog=database;Integrated Security=True" I get a runtime error: An error occurred creating the form. See Exception.InnerException for details. The error is: The type initializer for 'DB_lib.DB_LINQ' threw an exception. [EDIT] I got rid of the error by using the My.Settings("ConnectionString") = "Source=server;Initial Catalog=database;Integrated Security=True" in another place then the the eventtriggerd settingsLoaded method i created.. The problem is that even though the connectionstring semes to be the right, the program still connects to the "default" database that is typed in to the app.config file??

    Hello, here is my dilemma. I have two worksheets one that has the name of clients and one that i want to copy the names to depending on the city. For instance: associated to each column is last name, first name and city. i have hundreds of names associated to different cities and what i would like is from worksheet1.xls to copy all the New York clients to worksheet2.xls either when i open worksheet2 or via macro what ever is easier and because last name is in one cell and the first name is in the other i would have to copy both. I saw that its possible to link cells from one worksheet to another and then do a vlookup depending on the criteria. Is that the best easiest way or is there another? thanks in advance and cheers oleg

When form will created meaning onLoad it will display blank value(text box is empty). But now we want to check that number is existing then concate with some random number.     How to convert from Euler's coordinates E1 = (x1, y1, z1, yaw1, pitch1, roll1) to E2 = (x2, y2, z2, yaw2, pitch2, roll2) where x, y, z are the coordinates of a point and yaw, pitch, roll the direction/orientation of a vector which origin is the point. yaw is around y, pitch around x, roll around z. They are performed in that order. Yaw 0 is normal to the plan xy (opposite to z in E1 and equal to z in E2). E1 uses a right handed space and E2 a left handed space. Both have the same origin, the same direction for y (top) and z (into the screen). They differ by x which is to the left on E1 and to the right on E2. They also differ by their direction of positive rotations. I've a custom type to hold the scalar representation and to convert from and to the equivalent WPF Matrix3d representation.

  • Change Emacs Default Coding System

    My problem stems from Emacs inserting the coding system headers into source files containing non-ascii characters: # -*- coding: utf-8 -*- My coworkers do not like these headers being checked into our repositories. I don't want them inserted into my files because Emacs automatically detects that the file should be UTF-8 regardless so there doesn't seem to be any benefit to anyone. I would like to simply set Emacs to use UTF-8 automatically for all files, yet it seems to disagree with this idea. In an effort to fix this, I've added the following to my .emacs: (prefer-coding-system 'utf-8) (setq coding-system-for-read 'utf-8) (setq coding-system-for-write 'utf-8) This does not seem to solve my problem. Emacs still inserts the coding-system headers into my files. Anyone have any ideas? EDIT: I think this problem is specifically related to ruby-mode. I still can't turn it off though.

I even tried putting the password InputScope on a normal TextBox, but that didn't mask the appearance of the characters in the text box. Suggestions?

  • File-level filesystem change notification in Mac OS X

    I want my code to be notified when any file under (either directly or indirectly) a given directory is modified. By "modified", I mead I want my code to be notified whenever a file's contents are altered, it's renamed, or it's deleted; or if a new file is added. For my application, there can be thousands of files. I looked as FSEvents, but its Technology Overview says, in part: The important point to take away is that the granularity of notifications is at a directory level. It tells you only that something in the directory has changed, but does not tell you what changed. It also says: The file system events API is also not designed for finding out when a particular file changes. For such purposes, the kqueues mechanism is more appropriate. However, in order to use kqueue on a given file, one has to open the file to obtain a file descriptor. It's impractical to manage thousands of file descriptors (and would probably exceed the maximum allowable number of open file descriptors anyway). Curiously, under Windows, I can use the ReadDirectoryChangesW() function and it does precisely what I want. So how can one do what I want under Mac OS X? Or, asked another way: how would one go about writing the equivalent of ReadDirectoryChangesW() for Mac OS X in user-space (and do so very efficiently)?

    When you call javascript_include_tag :defaults you usually get: prototype.js, effects.js, dragdrop.js, and controls.js. These are stored in a constant in ActionView::Helpers::AssetTagHelper called 'JAVASCRIPT_DEFAULT_SOURCES`. My application uses jQuery, so I want to replace the Prototype references with something more useful. I added an initializer with these lines, based on the source code from jRails: ActionView::Helpers::AssetTagHelper::JAVASCRIPT_DEFAULT_SOURCES = %w{ jquery-1.4.min jquery-ui jquery.cookie } ActionView::Helpers::AssetTagHelper::reset_javascript_include_default But when I do this, I get: warning: already initialized constant JAVASCRIPT_DEFAULT_SOURCES during startup. What's the correct way of changing this value? In the source code it checks for the constant before setting it, but apparently that happens before it runs the initializer scripts. The Rails 3.0 release will provide much greater flexibility with choice of JS libraries, so I guess this is a problem with an expiration date.

  • does PHP 5.3 change the way file_get_contents works?

    I'm having an odd issue with PHP's file_get_contents. In the past, file_get_contents on a remote file returns the text of that file regardless of the HTTP status code returned. If I hit an API and it sends back JSON error information with a status of 500, file_get_contents gives me that JSON (with no indication that an error code was encountered). I've just set up a Ubuntu 10.04 server, which is the first Ubuntu to have PHP 5.3. Instead of giving me the JSON, PHP throws a warning when a 500 error is present. As a result, I can't parse the JSON and give a nice error message. It's nice that PHP is noticing there's an error in the remote file, but I need the JSON even (especially!) if there's a 500 error. There doesn't appear to be any way to switch this off. Has anyone encountered this? Any tips?

    Hey all Basically I want to replicate the page changing effect found here, at http://timvandamme.com/ But instead of using #values I want to use PHP includes, mainly because I want the site to be as uber-seo-friendly as possible... but still have this nice effect. So is there a way of doing this? I have a main index file which includes other php files in the centre using the usual 'GET' method, so my pages look like: "index.php?page=about" In my jQuery code I want to have a declaration where if I click the navigation, the content scrolls up, then once the relevant PHP file has loaded, have the content scroll back down and show the new page content (whilst also of navigated to the new page in the address bar, so if the user clicks the back button in their browser, they return to the previous page). I know how to code the scrolling bits, it's just literally the ajax loading includes / page navigation parts I'm struggling to work out :\ Any help would be MUCH appreciated!!! Thanks in advance.     If my project name is ABC and the DLL currently outputs as ABC.DLL, how can I make my DLL be outputted as say CBA.DLL and so that when the .LIB is compiled linked against, it is not looking for ABC.DLL, but CBA.DLL. I tried changing the name under Linker General Output File but when I linked to the .lib in my other application, it was still looking for ABC.DLL and CBA.DLL.
