    Hi, i have a question, what is the best way to append ints and Strings to build a new String? In the allocation debug tool i see too much allocations if i use the operator +. But i have tried also with StringBuffer and there are still too much allocations. Anyone can help me? Thanks

  • How to test crontab entry?

    I have an entry in my crontab that looks like this: 0 3 * * * pg_dump mydb | gzip > ~/backup/db/$(date +%Y-%m-%d).psql.gz That script works perfectly when I execute it from the shell, but it doesn't seem to be running every night. I'm assuming there's something wrong with the permissions, maybe crontab is running under a different user or something. How can I debug this? I'm a shared hosting environment (WebFaction).

  • BeginInvoke not invoking the target method in Release build

    I have a method, which I wish to execute on the UI message pump and thus do the following: private void SomeMethod() { BeginInvoke(new MethodInvoker(MethodToInvoke)); } private void MethodToInvoke() { // This method contains code that I wish to execute on UI message pump. } Now, the above works just fine when I create a Debug build of the project. However, when I create a Release build, the "MethodToInvoke" method does not get invoked. Does anyone have any idea why this might be? Thanks, Elan

  • automate operations within a Virtualbox machine

    Hi, I'm Having some trouble in a vm that seems to occur only once in a hundred during shutdown/reboot. To help the debug, I'm thinking to write a script that runs on my desktop, which starts the vm and automate operations for a huge number of times (keyboard key pressed) whithin it. (VirtualBox preferred). It's just exactly how a script using the expect lib would do with a program in command line. I'm not sure it's possible, but anyway, if anyone has an idea... Cheers

  • a free logging proxy anybody (HTTP or TCP)?

    I need to debug a web service. I want to point my client app to the proxy URL and point the proxy to the real service URL and see all requests/responses. I know I could do network sniffing (Wireshark/Ethereal) but isn't there a simple "proxy" app that can do this? I found trivialproxy but the links are broken :(

  • iphone - debugging on device crashes immediately

    When I try to debug my app on the iphone device, the splash screen shows and then the app crashes immediately. If I run the app in the simulator or on the device (not from XCode) it runs fine. I tried putting a breakpoint in the main method and it doesn't seem to hit it. There are no logs generated. ideas? suggestions?

  • Automatically creating C# wrappers from c headers?

    Is there a way to automatically create p/invoke wrappers for .net from a c header? Of course I could create them by hand, but maintaining them would be painful, and I'd probably make a mistake somewhere resulting in hard to debug crashes. I tried SWIG, but it created full classes where simple structs would be sufficient. I'd prefer if the output worked on mono too, but that is not necessary.

  • Android Bitmap.createBitmap returns negative mHeight

    Modifying the Snake example. An exception was created from the bitmap class. So I debug the original Snake, and found that in TileView there is a function loadTile, Bitmap bitmap = Bitmap.createBitmap(mTileSize, mTileSize, Bitmap.Config.ARGB_8888); after the above assignment, the bitmap had -1 for mHeight and mWidth. Then how does the Snake even work? I am just use the Eclipse and the virtual machine, not a real android phone.

The .zip file I downloaded from their website (http://excelpackage.codeplex.com) contains a .dll, a .xml file, a "GacReg.exe" and a file called ExcelPackage (with this description: "Program Debug Database").   • Perl ftp question, like the previous ones ...

    I need to move or copy a simple text file from one web site to another web site. I have administrator rights to both web sites. The first web site has a large data file (again, just a text file), certain records are selected and written to a team file (for entry into a tournament). Next I go through paypal and pay for the entries. The second site is for the the club running the tournament and I use IPN to return to a script on their site and if it verified, I add the team memebers into the master file for the tournament. I am limited to the ONE IPN script on the tournament site because I have a ton of other entries that come in from all over. The first site has the rosters for the state and no need to type all that data from each club, use the rosters like I use for all the non-paypal tounamenmts. I can ftp the team file to the second server and place it in the folder just like it was created from scratch from that server originally and everything should go fine but I took the examples and tried them and nothing.   • SendKeys.SendWait doesn't works

    My target is to send keyboard events to external application. From my application, I'm launching a C# exe (console application) that bring the target application to the front and uses SendKeys.SendWait to send keyboards events. I ran into a rate case were the command don't have any affect. When debugging it, it works but when running it not in debug it fails. I think it as something to do with the fact that when debugging my application is the active application.

  • CICS web service requestor GET CONTAINER returns neither data nor error

    I am developing a CICS web service requestor application to consume a distributed web service. I used the web services assistant DFHWS2LS to transform the wsdl to copybooks successfully. I have no problem issuing the PUT CONTAINER and INVOKE SERVICE api commands, but when I issue GET CONTAINER I am not receiving any containers or data. No response codes or error messages, but no data. Any ideas on how to debug this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
