• How to ACTUALLY install Java on Linux?

  I have a Ubuntu Server. From the terminal, how should I install JDK? In this guide it says to use this command: sudo apt-get install sun-java6-bin sun-java6-jre sun-java6-jdk But on Suns website, it says JDK includes the JRE, so why the JRE in the line above? Anybody know how to actually install Java? Every guide and every forum shows different ways of doing it. BTW: It is a VPS (virtual private server) Thanks

If you have a directory with files and folders with files and folders in them and so on. Is there anyway to delete all the files and folders without all the strenuous command typing?   These two querys gives me the exact same result: select * from topics where name='Harligt'; select * from topics where name='Härligt'; How is this possible? Seems like mysql translates åäö to aao when it searches. Is there some way to turn this off? I use utf-8 encoding everywhere as far as i know. The same problem occurs both from terminal and from php.

• Unix console becomes inactive after closing vim

After vim close console just halts. No activity on any keypress. The only workaround is to close console tab and create a new one. How can I solve this problem?

This is the command I think I need to use convert -size 640x300 fileName.pdf slide.png Now if I run that command from terminal it works fine, but I need a way of getting each slides name so I can add it into a model.
