• Deselecting an element in jQuery

  I have a collection of span elements. In the code I have a global variable that represents the "selected" object. Using the click event when a span is clicked I reset the object's class, reset the global variable, then set the object to the variable and change its class (to make it "highlighted"). This effectively toggles selection when clicking an object. var currentItem = null; $( ".item" ).click( function() { if( $( this ).hasClass( "selected" ) ) { $( this ).removeClass( "selected" ) currentItem = null; } else { if( $( ".item" ).hasClass( "selected" ) ){ $( ".item" ).removeClass( "selected" ) } $( this ).addClass( "selected" ); currentItem = $( this ); } } ); What I'd like to be able to do is unselect when clicking on an empty area of the page. I tried creating a click event on the body object, but that overrode the span click event so nothing was selected. I'm a complete jQuery noob and not sure where to go with this.

• Not getting image in h:graphicImage in JSF

  Hello, I have this very strange error with h:graphicImage This code works fine :- <h:graphicImage value="/Common/Images/#{item.templatePicName}"/> And this one doesn't :- <h:graphicImage alt="${app:getCommonImagePath(item.templatePicName)}" value="${app:getCommonImagePath(item.templatePicName)}" /> It only shows alt value /Common/Images/Sunset.jpg which is perfectly fine and works in 1st case. Then why doesn't it work in 2nd case? There are no problems with my images. • MySQL: Return grouped fields where the group is not empty, effeciently

  In one statement I'm trying to group rows of one table by joining to another table. I want to only get grouped rows where their grouped result is not empty. Ex. Items and Categories SELECT Category.id FROM Item, Category WHERE Category.id = Item.categoryId GROUP BY Category.id HAVING COUNT(Item.id) > 0 The above query gives me the results that I want but this is slow, since it has to count all the rows grouped by Category.id. What's a more effecient way? I was trying to do a Group By LIMIT to only retrieve one row per group. But my attempts failed horribly. Any idea how I can do this? Thanks

• What's the best way to use hamcrest-AS3 to test for membership in an IList?

  I'm using Flex 3.3, with hamcrest-as3 used to test for item membership in a list as part of my unit tests: var myList: IList = new ArrayCollection(['a', 'b', 'c']).list; assertThat(myList, hasItems('a', 'b', 'c')); The problem is that apparently the IList class doesn't support for each iteration; for example, with the above list, this will not trace anything: for each (var i: * in myList) { trace (i); } However, tracing either an Array or an ArrayCollection containing the same data will work just fine. What I want to do is (without having to tear apart my existing IList-based interface) be able to treat an IList like an Array or an ArrayCollection for the purposes of testing, because that's what hamcrest does: override public function matches(collection:Object):Boolean { for each (var item:Object in collection) { if (_elementMatcher.matches(item)) { return true; } } return false; } Is this simply doomed to failure? As a side note, why would the IList interface not be amenable to iteration this way? That just seems wrong.

• Detect NativeDragDrop to Trash or RecycleBin

  I will let user remove item from List with a cool method. Drag an item in adobe air List control and then drop it to Trash(OSX) or Recycle Bin(Win). The trash accept move drag action only. So I think I must set dragMoveEnable=true. When I drag an item to Recycle Bin on Windows. It show accept effect(alpha mask) and Air remove that object from List's dataProvider. So I can find which one is disappear. But when I drag to Trash on MacOSX. It show effect too. But Air do nothing for List. Maybe this is a bug. How can I avoid it? Are there any way to detect where dropped by user?

  So here is my code: <?php $arr = array(array(2 => 5), array(3 => 4), array(7 => 10)); foreach ($arr as $v) { $k = key($v); if ($k > 5) { // unset this element from $arr array } } print_r($arr); // now I would like to get the array without array(7 => 10) member As you can see, I start with an array of sinwgle key = value arrays, I loop thorugh this array and get a key of the current element (which is a single item array). I need to unset elements of the array with key higher than 5, how could I do that? I might also need to remove elements with value less than 50 or any other condition. Basically I need to be able to get a key of the current array item which is itself an array with a single item.

  I have several lists that contain many of the same items and many duplicate items. I want to check which items in one list are not in the other list. For example, I might have one list like this: l1 = ['a', 'b', 'c', 'b', 'c'] and one list like this: l2 = ['a', 'b', 'c', 'b'] Comparing these two lists I would want to return a third list like this: l3 = ['c'] I am currently using some terrible code that I made a while ago that I'm fairly certain doesn't even work properly shown below. def list_difference(l1,l2): for i in range(0, len(l1)): for j in range(0, len(l2)): if l1[i] == l1[j]: l1[i] = 'damn' l2[j] = 'damn' l3 = [] for item in l1: if item!='damn': l3.append(item) return l3 How can I better accomplish this task?

• WPF Binding to Items within a collection? (or converter with parameters)

  i am using a WPF DataGrid, and in my Details row, i would like to show separate objects within a sub collection of each grid item. Is it possible to have a finer control of Path? for example something like... Path=SubCollection['ItemX'] etc.. also, if i was to use a converter, i don't want to have to create a separate converter for each item.. so would there be a way to supply a parameter to a converter that could than determine which collection item to return??

• If cookie found, get data, else create cookie, is this good logic?

  I have an Action that basically adds an item to a cart, the only way the cart is known is by checking the cookie, here is the flow of logic, please let me know if you see any issue... /order/add/[id] is called via GET action checks for cookie, if no cookie found, it makes a new cart, writes the identifier to the cookie, and adds the item to the database with a relation to the cart created if cookie is found, it gets the cart identifier from the cookie, gets the cart object, adds the item to the database with a relation to the cart found so it's basically like... action add(int id){ if(cookie is there) cart = getcart(cookievalue) else cart = makecart() createcookie(cart.id) additemtocart(cart.id, id) return "success"; } Seem right? I can't really thing of another way that would make sense.

I would like the ability to interrupt the parsing of the CSV so I can continue at a later stage. Currently I have this - of which lives in a larger class: (unfinished) Edit: I have some changed code. • Core Data: Detecting the type and casting it

  I have set up a Core Data model that includes an entity, Item with a 1-M relationship with the abstract entity Place, so that an item has many places. There are several entities with the parent set to Place. I want to set up several UI elements depending on the descendent place types. I have a loop that looks something like this: for (Place *place in item.places) { } ... but I'm not sure how to detect what type the place is, and how to cast it to the proper type so that I can access its properties.   How can I get all items from a specific calendar (for a specific date). Lets say for instance that I have a calendar with a recurring item every Monday evening. When I request all items like this: CalendarItems = CalendarFolder.Items; CalendarItems.IncludeRecurrences = true; I only get 1 item... Is there an easy way to get all items (main item + derived items) from a calendar? In my specific situation it can be possible to set a date limit but it would be cool just to get all items (my recurring items are time limited themselves). I'm using the Microsoft Outlook 12 Object library (Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook).

• Creating CFArray from MySQL Result Array

  Is there an easy way to dump an array returned from mysql_fetch_row into a CFArray? (part of the PHP implementation of CFPropertyList) I'm bummed by the lack of documentation on CFPropertyList for PHP. Iterating through each item in the array seems inefficient. I'm open to using a different mysql_fetch_... command. I'd like to just say: $NewArray = new CFArray( $ResultArray ) But that deosn't seem to work. • Amazon SimpleDB - Is there a way to list all Attributes in a Domain?

  Hi, I'm using C# and the AWSSDK library form Amazon to test a few things in SimpleDB. All going well so far. However, I am trying to come up with a neat way of retrieving all Attributes that are applicable to a Domain. This is proving to be tricky without having to retrieve an Item, and obviously I can get the list of attributes then. But what if I have 100,000 Items in a Domain. Let's say the first 70,000 Items in a "Person" Domain have: FirstName, LastName, Address And then I hit a Item that has FirstName, LastName, Address, Phone And then I hit another Item around the 80,000 mark which has: FirstName, LastName, Email, Phone In the above example, for the Person Domain, how would I get a list that contains: FirstName, LastName, Address, Email, Phone ...without performing a ridiculous number of select statements? My code looks like this: list1 = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6] list2 = [] for item in list1: list2.append(item) list1.remove(item) But if I run it my output looks like this: >>> list1 [2, 4, 6] >>> list2 [1, 3, 5] My question is threefold, I guess: Why is this happening, how do I make it work, and am I overlooking an incredibly simple solution like a 'move' statement or something?

• Are function arguments stored in a closure?

  I was reading this great article about closures here and the example below outputs 'item3 undefined' three times. I understand why it outputs 'item3' three times as the functions inside buildList() all use the same single closure but why can't it access the 'list' argument? Why is it undefined?
