  • Mac OS X 10.9 with GCC 4.7.3, stdlib.h: no such file or directory

    I'm doing some development with C++ on Mac OS. The code worked fine on Mac OS 10.8.3/10.8.4, with GCC 4.7.3. However recently I upgraded my OS to Mavericks 10.9 and Xcode 5.0. I find that when I try to compile my code, both gcc/g++/clang responds with: *******.C:1:** stdlib.h:no such file or directory *******.C:2:** iostream.h:no such file or directory Since I'm not familiar with Mac OS(My working platform is openSUSE), what can I do for it? will it help if I install "Command Line Tools" from Xcode? Or is there anyway that I could re-build the include index? Include dir of GCC is /opt/local/include/gcc47 and it seems there is a stdlib.h in it. The path is /opt/local/include/gcc47/c++/tr1/ Please help me, and thank you very much.

    I know of FlashDevelop for windows but how about developing actionscript or haxe on a mac? besides flex plugin for eclipse, flex builder and FDT is there anny good IDE out there for actionscript development on mac? I would really like to se a good plugin for netbeans but it looks like all the projects on making something like this has halted. I have tryide using MacVim with various plugins but i never get it to work and it looks to be a hard learning curve to get starting using vim. What is people using to develop actionscript/haxe on a mac?

    I think (based on searching the forums), that NetCat is the best option, but wanted to hear if others are preferable. Anyone have good success with a packet-crafting tool (specifically on Mac)? I've tried HPing, but had some issues. I'm looking into NetCat ('nc' on mac) now, but it's not working as I had thought. Basically, I captured some packets that a remote control sends over a wifi network to turn lights on and off (using X10 controllers), and am looking for a way to replay them by crafting a TCP packet from the command line. I used Wireshark to sniff the traffic, so I know the package is: DEVICE -sendplc-"C4 DIM 10" I'm trying: echo 'DEVICE -sendplc-"C4 DIM 10"' nc 192.168.2.196 6003 but there's no response from the receiving system.   • Placement of command line options in bash

    I just starting using a Mac and have been frustrated that command line options are required immediately following the command so that this works: ls -la /usr but this doesn't: ls /usr -la ls: -la: No such file or directory Is there any way to change this? Or can someone tell me why the placement of options is agnostic on most Linux platforms, but not on Mac?

    I am using a mac. When I use the "rm" command it can only remove files. The "rmdir" command only removes empty folders. If you have a directory with files and folders with files and folders in them and so on. Is there anyway to delete all the files and folders without all the strenuous command typing? Remember, I am using the mac bash shell from terminal, not Microsoft DOS or linux.

    I have just tried to upload Mac app to app store. But Apple said just error. Invalid Code Signing Entitlements. Your application bundle's signature contains code signing entitlements that are not supported on MAC OS X. Specifically, key 'application-identifier' in '(My app name).app/Contents/MacOS/(My app name) is not supported. My XCode is 4.2 and I didn't check Enable Entitlements. Please help me!!!

Which projects do I create in xcode? I can see the Command Line Tool under "Mac os x" but the only options for the type is "C", "C++", "Core Data", "Core Foundation", "Core Services" and "Foundation" but no simple objective c project?   • Need help with testdisk output

    I had (note the past tense) an ubuntu 12.04 system with separate partitions for the base and /home directories. It started acting wonky, so I decided to do a reinstall with 12.10, intending just to do a reinstall to the base partition. After several seconds, I realize that the installer was repartitioning the drive and reinstalling, so I pulled the power cord. I'm now trying to recover as much as I can with testdisk, but it seems that testdisk is finding 100 unique partitions when I run it - they mostly tend to be HFS+ or solaris /home (which I think is just an ext4; I've never had solaris on the machine). I've pasted an abbreviated version of the testdisk output below (first ~100 lines, and then ~100 lines from the middle of the output). Is there a way to combine or recreate the partitions and then data recovery, or some other way maximize what I can recover (ideally as much of the file system as possible)? I really only care about what was in the /home directory - I'd rather not use photorec since I don't have another 2 TB HD lying around to recover to.     If you ping google.com from different countries you will get replies from local google servers. How does that work? Can a DNS record have multiple A addresses? Could someone point me to the technology they use to do that? Update. OK, so Google's DNS server gives out a different IP based on the location. But, as Alexandre Jasmin pointed out, how do they track the location? Surely their DNS won't ever see your IP address. Is the server querying Google's DNS guaranteed to be from the location it represents?

  • Cloud services, Public IPs and SIP

    I'm trying to run a custom SIP software (which uses JAIN SIP 1.2) on a cloud box. What I'd really like is to have a real public IP aka which is listed by "ifconfig -a" command. This is because atm I don't want to write additional SIP code / add a SIP proxy in order to manage private IP addresses / address translation. I gave Amazon EC2 a go, but as reported here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10013549/sip-and-ec2-elastic-ips it's not fit for purpose (they do a 1:1 NAT translation between the private IP of the box and its Elastic IP). Does anyone know of a cloud service that provides real static public IP addresses?

  • Adding localhost entry to Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file with port number

    I have set up a local site under IIS 7.5 under port 900. to access it I should type localhost:900 in the address bar. I'm a little bit familiar with the System32\Drivers\etc\hosts file and I know I can define my custom name with IP adderss there. For example I can add: 127.0.0.1 MyLocalSite and whenever I type in http://MyLocalSite in the browser, The DNS resolves its IP as 127.0.0.1. Is there anyway that I can specify port number in that file as well? (e.g. 127.0.0.1:900 MySecondSite and the DNS resolves it correctly) I tried 127.0.0.1:900 and 127.0.0.1::900 with no luck.

  • Why does pinging 192.168.072 (only 2 dots) return a response from 192.168.0.58?

    I mistakenly missed the dot off of an IP address and typed in 192.168.072. To my surprise I connected to a machine at 192.168.0.58 If I ping 192.168.072 I get responses from 192.168.0.58. Why is this? I'm on a Windows PC on a Windows domain. If I ping 192.168.72 I get a response from 192.168.0.72, so it seems the 0 in 072 (in my original mistake) is significant.     How can i get the LAN IP-address of a computer using Java? I want the IP-address which is connected to the router and the rest of the network. I've tried something like this: Socket s = new Socket("www.google.com", 80); String ip = s.getLocalAddress().getHostAddress(); s.close(); This seem to work on some cases, but sometimes it returns the loopback-address or something completely different. Also, it requires internet connection. Does anyone got a more accurate method of doing this?

    Hi! I am writing an application using Objective C and I want to access the iPhone favorites numbers (the ones that can be found in the "Phone" application). I've searched among the properties specific to each contact from the Address Book and I even had a look at the Address Book database, but I couldn't identify which property or field from the database indicates which are the favorite numbers. Since "Phone" is an application installed by Apple on the iPhone I was expecting to find such a property in the database. However, I think that it might be possible that this application stores the favorite numbers independently of the Address Book database.   • Time machine disk icon on boot disk

    The icon for Macintosh HD (my boot disk) shows as a Time Machine disk. There is a file .com.apple.timemachine.supported in the root of the disk. If I delete the file and restart the computer, the icon goes back to a normal HD icon. However, the .com.apple.timemachine.supported file is recreated at some point on boot because when I log in again, the file has been recreated. If then reboot again, the icon goes back to being a Time Machine one. Any ideas about what is creating this file and why? More importantly - how can I get it to stop? (Cookies do not match) 19/01/2010 19:23:59 /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[7459] Backup failed with error: 18 Other possibly relevant information: The boot HD isn't the original - the original failed so this is a SuperDuper'd clone of the original drive. I used to use the same disk for a SuperDuper clone as for Time Machine. These are the same same symptoms as this and this.

  • MacBook Pro 13" Install DVD Wont Start

    Hi, Excuse such a basic question... I am a Laptop Fixer and deal with Windows based laptops only but very recently took in a 13" MacBook Pro for a re-install of the OS (easy I thought!) I inserted the Install DVD, held the C button and turn on. I could hear the disk spinning up and after about a min the DVD is ejected. There are a few scratches on the DVD but should be ok as not that deep. However, Windows Vista was installed (it failed to install properly hence the re-install of Mac OS). Should I wipe clean and format the hard disk first? Could this be the reason the DVD is ejected? Any advice would be gratefully accepted? p.s. never held a MacBook Pro before... first impressions, wow... alu casing and massive touch pad... and the magnetic power socket.... so impressed and it doesn't even work!

    Hi, We upgraded to Mac OS X 10.5.3 and getting problem when uploading files (PUT) to a webdav server (the server is Apache running on a Windows environment). When we drag and drop on to a webdav folder using Finder we get a -36 error. When looking at the stack trace of the web server the problem is due to INVALID CRLF or some times getting the following error. Both the stack point to error when copying the stream.   • Embedded Spotlight does not function in Outlook 2011

    I have a rather strange problem. I manage a network of about 35 Mac, and we all recently switched from Mail.app to Outlook 2011 (Please don't debate this, I've already had this conversation ad nauseum) We are using network home directories (NHD) server from a Windows file server over the SMB protocol. The problem I'm having is Spotlight does not function inside of Outlook. But ONLY inside of Outlook. The global Spotlight can find all email and contacts with Outlook, but the embedded Spotlight cannot. As a test, I took one of my users and switched them from a network home directory to a portable home directory (PHD) (this means the home folder was copied to the local hard drive). This resulted in a working Spotlight within Outlook, as soon as I switched the user back to an NHD, however, it stopped working. I have already tried erasing the Spotlight index and killing the process to force re-indexing. I have exhausted all Spotlight troubleshooting, and since the global is working that is obviously not the issue. I believe it has something to do with the Spotlight plugin Microsoft wrote that is located in /Library/Spotlight. Any ideas?
