  • Creating a new buffer with text using EmacsClient

    I have a program that can send text to any other program for further analysis (eg sed, grep, etc). I would like it to send the data to Emacs and do analysis there. How would I do that? EmacsClient takes a filename by default, this is a data string not a file and I really don't want to create and delete files just to send data to Emacs. EmacsClient has an "eval" command-line option that let's you execute lisp code instead of open files. Is there a simple lisp function that will open a new buffer with the given text?

  • Automatic facebook login

    I manage 4 Facebook fan pages. Whenever users make a news on his website, I post it on Facebook. Now I have made it that I only have to press a button and the news were posted. I would like to automate this. How can I do this? My problem is that it is associated with my Facebook account and then it is not running in cron job or nothing is posted. Can I use my login data to a file which the Cronjob can always log in?

  • Forward web request for directory index ('/') to an index.htm page in JBoss 4.0.5

    I am using JBoss 4.0.5.GA to run a set of java applications. One of them is a web frontend, using Spring 1.4. URL mappings are configured in a way that 'fake' pages from request URLs are mapped to controllers. That means that when someone requests /index.htm, there's no actual 'index.htm' on disk, and that request maps to a specific conroller which then renders a jsp view. So the problem is as follows: I need to tell JBoss to somehow forward all requests for directory indices to corresponding 'index.htm' URLs like so: / ? /index.htm; /news/ ? /news/index.htm; /foo/bar/baz/ ? /foo/bar/baz/index.htm and so on. I can't use Tomcat's welcome-file-list feature because it looks for those files on disk, while all 'index.htm's are fake and don't actually exist on disk.

  • How can I use javascript to convert relative href attributes into absolute paths?

    I have a template that gets screenscraped from an outside vendor and need to include absolute paths in the navigation so the externally hosted content will properly link back to our site. Right now the page/template is driven by a global menu app written by our back end development staff... so anyone who updates our site goes in and changes the menus and their paths... Right now all of the links are linking to relative paths back to the root. For example <a href="/">Home</a> <a href="/news/">News</a> <a href="/media/">Media</a> <a href="/other/">Other</a> I need a simple way (preferably with jquery) to prepend "http://www.domain.com" to each of those links.

  • Where should I define custom routes in my ZF 1.10 app?

    With the new Zend_Application/Zend_Application_Bootstrap classes I'm confused as to where I should be applying my custom routes. For example, at the moment I have one route: protected function _initRouter() { $router = new Zend_Controller_Router_Rewrite; $route = new Zend_Controller_Router_Route('news/:id', array('controller' => 'news', 'action' => 'view')); $router->addRoute('postArchive', $route); } This method is in my Zend_Application_Bootstrap_Bootstrap and is definitely run. The route is also applied in $router. As I see it I could be doing two things wrong - either the wrong place to add these routes, or not adding to the correct router. Can anyone point me in the right direction with this?

  • VBScript Can not Select XML nodes

    I am trying to Select nodes from some webservice response XML to no avail. For some reason I am able to select the root node ("xmldata") however, when I try to drill deeper("xmldata/customers") everything is returned empty! However when I try the same with the next node down as follows; Set nodeList2 = xmlDoc.SelectNodes("xmldata/customers") Response.Write(nodeList.length) '0 is written to page It returns a length of 0. WHY! Please note that this isn't the only way I have attempted to access the values of these nodes. I just can not work out what I am doing wrong. Could someone please help me out. Cheers.

For example /news?c=123 For some reason, it works only on the website root www.example.com?c=123 but it does not work if the url contains any more information www.example.com/news?c=123.     I am interested in purchasing a netbook to do field research in another country. My hardware specifications for the nebtook are fairly basic: Be rugged enough to survive a bit of wear and tear Fairly fast processing (the ability to upgrade from 1GB of RAM to 2GB) A battery life of longer than 6 hours At least a 10 inch screen A decent camera for Skyping However, I am mainly concerned about being able to do basic statistical analysis in conjunction with R Be able run a Spreadsheet program to do basic data input (like Excel or Open Office) Use R to do basic data analysis (Regression, some simulation (nothing crazy), data cleaning, and some of the functionality) Word Processing (Word or Open Office) Do you have any suggestions on which models or brands my fit my needs? Some of the models I am considering: Samsung NB-30 Toshiba NB 305 Asus Eee PC 1005HA Lenovo S10-2 Does anyone use R on a netbook, and if so do you have any recommendations on how best to optimize it? This article from Lifehacker mentions some OS. Anybody use these in conjunction with R? Any help would be much appreciated.

What I would like it to do is have anybody comment on it (they don't need to login). The comment submission form just required a Name and comment. What would be the simplest way to do this?     I'm writing a T4 template which loads some classes from an assembly, does some analysis of the classes and then generates some code. One particular bit of analysis I need to do is to determine whether the class implements a generic list. I can do this pretty simply in C#, e.g. public class Foo : List<string> { } var t = typeof(Foo); if (t.BaseType != null && t.BaseType.IsGenericType && t.BaseType.GetGenericTypeDefinition() == typeof(List<>))) Console.WriteLine("Win"); However T4 templates use the FXCop introspection engine and so you do not have access to the .net reflection API. I've spent the past couple of hours in Reflector but still can't figure it out. Does anyone have any clues about how to do this?

  • ID cannot be null (Auto Increment)

    I'm using an INSERT ON DUPLICATE KEY statement for my website. It's for creating news items, so I figured I could use the same MySQL command for both creating and updating news items. However, when I use the following: INSERT INTO table (id,title,content) VALUES(NULL,"Test","Test"); Instead of creating a new auto increment value it throws an error. However, the command works on my main development server. But not on my laptop. Both versions of MySQL are the same, the only difference being MySQL was installed manually on my server, and with WAMP on my laptop. Are there any MySQL Variables that could be causing this?

    The query is: SELECT * FROM `news` ORDER BY `id` LIMIT ($curr_page * 5), ( ($curr_page * 5) + 5 ) Where $curr_page is a php variable which is getting a value from $_GET['page'] I want to make a pagination (5 news on each page), but I don't know why the mysql is returning me extra values. On the first page the result ok: $curr_page = 0 The query would be: SELECT * FROM `news` ORDER BY `id` LIMIT 0, 5 But on the second page, the result from the query is adding extra news, 10 instead of 5. The query on the second page: SELECT * FROM `news` ORDER BY `id` LIMIT 5, 10 Whats wrong? Why the result has 10 values instead of 5? Thank you!
