  • Infopath 2007 and WCF Data Connection

    I am having trouble trying to connect an Infopath 2007 form to an WCF web service. I appears that the Infopath only wants to communicate via a SOAP 1.0 message. To get around the issue for the moment I have created an .asmx web service. Should I consider continuing down this workaround or figure out a way to get WCF to dish out SOAP 1.0 1.1 messages?

  • Swing: Scroll to bottom of JScrollPane, conditionally on current viewport location

    Hi all, I am attempting to mimic the functionality of Adium and most other chat clients I've seen, wherein the scrollbars advance to the bottom when new messages come in, but only if you're already there. In other words, if you've scrolled a few lines up and are reading, when a new message comes in it won't jump your position to the bottom of the screen; that would be annoying. But if you're scrolled to the bottom, the program rightly assumes that you want to see the most recent messages at all times, and so auto-scrolls accordingly. I have had a bear of a time trying to mimic this; the platform seems to fight this behavior at all costs. The best I can do is as follows: In constructor: JTextArea chatArea = new JTextArea(); JScrollPane chatAreaScrollPane = new JScrollPane(chatArea); // We will manually handle advancing chat window DefaultCaret caret = (DefaultCaret) chatArea.getCaret(); caret.setUpdatePolicy(DefaultCaret.NEVER_UPDATE); In method that handles new text coming in: boolean atBottom = isViewAtBottom(); // Append the text using styles etc to the chatArea if (atBottom) { scrollViewportToBottom(); } public boolean isAtBottom() { // Is the last line of text the last line of text visible? Adjustable sb = chatAreaScrollPane.getVerticalScrollBar(); int val = sb.getValue(); int lowest = val + sb.getVisibleAmount(); int maxVal = sb.getMaximum(); boolean atBottom = maxVal == lowest; return atBottom; } private void scrollToBottom() { chatArea.setCaretPosition(chatArea.getDocument().getLength()); } Now, this works, but it's janky and not ideal for two reasons. By setting the caret position, whatever selection the user may have in the chat area is erased. I can imagine this would be very irritating if he's attempting to copy/paste. Since the advancement of the scroll pane occurs after the text is inserted, there is a split second where the scrollbar is in the wrong position, and then it visually jumps towards the end. This is not ideal. Before you ask, yes I've read this blog post on Text Area Scrolling, but the default scroll to bottom behavior is not what I want.   • Multiple subscribers in NServiceBus

    Hi. I'm getting started with NServiceBus and have a question about the Pubsub sample. My intention was to have multiple instances of Publisher1 running and receiving the message sent from the publisher. I also hacked the Publisher to only send messages of the eventMessage type. But if I start the publisher and three instances of Subscriber1, only one of them gets the message at a time. why is that? Is it a config setting or something else? /J

    Need help. I am trying to automate error notifications to be sent in mailers. For that I am querying the sysssislog table. I have pasted an "Execute SQl task" on the package event handler "On error". For testing purpose, I am deliberately trying to load duplicate keys in a table which consists of a Primary key column(so as to get an error). But instead of having just one error, "Violation of primary key constraint", SSIS records 3 in the table. PFA the screenshot as well. How can i restrict the tool to log only one error and not multiple ??? Package Structure. Package ("On error Event handler") - DFT - Oledb Source - Oledb Destination SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005. An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0" Hresult: 0x80004005 Description: "The statement has been terminated.". An OLE DB record is available.     I have put the attribute [FaultContract(typeof(ExceptionDetail))] for my operation contract. When I am trying to add the service th' a client app, I get this error - "Custom tool error: Failed to generate code for the service reference 'ServiceReference1'. Please check other error and warning messages for details." But when I comment out the FaultContract Attribute, I am able to add the wcf service reference th' my client app. Would appreciate if somebody can help me solve this mystery. Thanks

  • When creating a WCF Service with NetTcpBinding, use endpoint "localhost" or machine's host name?

    I have a WCF service that uses the NetTcpBinding and is running within a Windows service. Remote clients connect to this service. So far, I have defined the endpoint to use "localhost". If the host machine has multiple network adapters, will it receive messages on all adapters? Would it be better to assign the machine's host name to the endpoint instead of "localhost"? What are the advantages/disadvantages?

  • Please recommend PDU SMS format code or library for .NET or C++

    I have been searching a lot for a chunk of code, or a library to format SMS messages in PDU format and had little luck. They were either huge monsters with terrific dependencies on everything way above my requirements and a very obscure interface, totally not justifying the straight-forward, although rather complex encoding. Being on the edge of creating a NIH, my question is - have encountered the same problem and how have you solved it?
