    Ok, I'm looking for the fastest possible way to read all of the contents of a file via php with a filepath on the server, also these files can be huge. So it's very important that it does a READ ONLY to it as fast as possible. Is reading it line by line faster than reading the entire contents? Though, I remember reading up on this some, that reading the entire contents can produce errors for huge files. Is this true?

    I need a way to store an int for N columns. Basically what I have is this: Armies: ArmyID - UINT UnitCount1 - UINT UnitCount2 - UINT UnitCount3 - UINT UnitCount4 - UINT ... I can't possible add a column for each and every unit, so I need a fast way to store the number of each units in an army (you might have guesses it's for a game by now). Using XML is not an option as it will be dead slow.

    Hello, I have created a drop down with JQuery that can be seen here by clicking the Preview button on top: http://jsbin.com/ubire3/edit It works fine except for one problem. When i hover over the main hover links (blue ones) quickly eg going horizontally quickly hovering each top menu, the some submenus don't close. How do i make it so that even if i hover fast over them all other submenus are closed? Thanks.

    Just found the MIG Base 64 utility but its over 6 years old since its last release. It would appear to be quicker than the Apache commons equivalent but I have yet to confirm by writing up an actual test. Has anyone verified its correctness which is always a worry. If someone takes a look at the methods, please note i a referring to the non fast methods which make assumptions trading possible correctness for pure speed.

As of today I'm running this command for each file to get the revision number: hg log --template '{rev}\n' path-to-file Executing hg for each file is really time consuming.     I'm currently typing about 90 wpm (from http://speedtest.10-fast-fingers.com/ 90 correct 0 missed) using two fingers and the occasional ring or index. This probably grew from learning to type at an early age, before home-row was presented to me. Is this acceptable? Do people religiously endorse home-row even with low-mistake poking without looking at the keyboard?
