• How to Detect Trusted Connection in Crystal Reports using VB.NET?

  I have some Crystal Reports connecting to a Sql Server db that I would like to detect whether the connection is trusted or whether I need to supply the log on info (reports are not supplied by me so I can't control the connect method). If I just blindly supply login credentials, it won't connect if it is a trusted connection. The following does not work: oRpt = oCR.OpenReport("C:\MyReport.rpt") if oRpt.Database.Tables(1).ConnectionProperties.Item("Integrated Security") = True then 'trusted connection else 'supply login credentials end if It gives the following error: Operator '=' is not defined for type 'IConnectionProperty' and type 'Boolean'. I cannot find how create a construct in vb.net for IConnectionProperty. I can't find any documents from Crystal that explain it. I am using Crystal Reports XI - Developer

• Possible to fire asp.net validation from jQuery?

  I have a form with several text boxes on it. I only want to accept floats, but it is likely that users will enter a dollar sign. Is it possible to have the jQuery run first or to force the validation to run again after the jQuery executes?

  Oracle's NEAR operator for full text search returns a score based on the proximity of two or more query terms. For example: near((dog, bite), 6) matches if 'dog' and 'bite' occurs within 6 words. What if I'd like it to match if either 'dog' or 'cat' or any other type of animal occurs within 6 words of the word 'bite'? I tried: near(((dog OR cat OR animal), bite), 6) but I got: NEAR operand not a phrase, equivalence or another NEAR expression Rather than expanding all possible combination into multiple NEAR and 'or' them together, what is the proper way to write such query?

  Here's a homework problem: Is L_4 Regular? Let L_4 = L*, where L={0^i1^i | i>=1}. I know L is non-regular and I know that Kleene Star is a closed operation, so my assumption is that L_4 is non-regular. However my professor provided an example of the above in which L = {0^p | p is prime}, which he said was regular by proving that L* was equal to L(000* + e) by saying each was a subset of one another (e in this case means the empty word). So his method involved forming a regex of 0^p, but how I can do that when I essentially have one already?

  So I have my rails application and I have blog posts in my application. For starters I am on rails 2.3.5 and Ruby 1.8.7 For the show page, I am required to give a prev/next link to the prev/next blog post. The catch is that I need to find the next blog where the language column in the database is equal to 'eng'. I had started writing this out in my model and it works but of course this will just find the prev/next record in the database no matter what the language is specified in the column and it will break when the record is not found. def next(lang='eng') BlogEntry.find(self.id - 1) end def prev(lang='eng') BlogEntry.find(self.id + 1) end

  Suppose i have an array $x = (31,12,13,25,18,10); I want to reduce this array in such a way that the value of each array element is 32. so after work my array will become $newx = (32,32,32,13); I have to generate this array in such a way the sum of array values is never greater than 32. so to create first value, i will reduce 1 from second index value i.e. 12, so the second value will become 11 and first index value will become 31+1 =32. This process should continue so that each array value becomes equal to 32.

• T-SQL Operations on a Calculated Date Field

  Can I do WHERE operations on a calculated date field? I have a lookup field, which has been written badly in SQL and unfortunately I can't change it. But basically it stores dates as characters such as "July-2010" or "June-2009" (along with other non date data). I want to extract the dates first (which I did using a LIKE opertor) and then extract data based on a date range. He wants to have a solution such that when somebody call to his company, the operator sees all the information about the person who is calling based on the database he have right now and the caller ID. • write() in sys/uio.h returns -1

  I'm using Ubuntu Server 9.10 AMD Phenom 2 cpu g++ (Ubuntu 4.4.1-4ubuntu9) 4.4.1 trying to run the application pftp-shit v 1.11. The following code in tcp.cc is executed successfully: int outfile_fd = open(name, O_CREAT | O_TRUNC | O_RDWR | O_BINARY)) which returns a file descriptor int (in my case 6) - name is a char array containing a valid path to my file which successfully i created. and successfully running: fchmod(outfile_fd, S_IRUSR | S_IWUSR); and access(name, W_OK) The issue occurs during running the function (from sys/uio.h) write(outfile_fd, this-control_buffer, read_length) which returns -1. -1 is of returned if nothing was written and otherwise a non-negative integer is returned which is equal to the number of bytes written. Anyone having a clue how I can get the write function to work?

  I'm writing iphone app that has UITableView and uses Core Data. Data in UITableView is shown using NSFetchedResultsController. I use NSPredicate operator "IN" to fetch only needed entries. NSArray *filterArray = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:@"789", @"963", @"445", @"198", nil]; NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"id IN %@", filterArray]; Now the problem is that I need to show entries in same sequence they are in filterArray. How can I do it? How I can create NSSortDescriptor that would sort all entries in that way? I tried without sort descriptor, but I get error that NSFetchedResultsController needs sortDescriptor to be set.

  Hi every one, I am very much new to Drupal but am loving it to start with. I got struck at a point with respect to theaming. I have a region called 'footer-teaser' just above footer. Its width is 800px. its been split into 3 equal size columns. Each column has the following. Image of size 120x120 Some teaser text Link to 'read more' The design requirement is all the above should be editable by the admin from the admin interface. If its static i would have hardcoded this but since the requirement is dynamic, i am not aware of how to achieve this. I have customised page.tpl for other sections of the page except this. I am sure someone else would have faced this issue before and was wondering if anyone can direct me in the right direction? Even better if an example is provided. Cheers RD

  Hello guys, at the moment I'm really interested in expression templates and want to code a library for writing and differentiating mathematical functions with a lambda-style syntax. At the moment, I'm able to write (_x * _x)(2); and get the correct result 4. But I would really like to do something like MathFunction f = _x * _x; f(2);, but I don't have any ideas on how to cope with the recursive expression templates on the right side. Is it possible to achieve this without using the 'auto'-Keyword instead of MathFunction or having to make the operator() virtual? Thanks for your help!

• Does std::multiset guarantee insertion order?

  I have a std::multiset which stores elements of class A. I have provided my own implementation of operator< for this class. My question is if I insert two equivalent objects into this multiset is their order guaranteed? For example, first I insert a object a1 into the set and then I insert an equivalent object a2 into this set. Can I expect the a1 to come before a2 when I iterate through the set? If no, is there any way to achieve this using multiset?

  For this question I'm going to give a simplified example of what I want to do, and the function I want to learn to write. var collection = ''; <div id='container'> <span>1</span> <span>2</span> <span>3</span> </div> What I want to do this, for every span in the div, take its text, add it to the collection. So ideally it would look like: $('#container').addtoCollection(collection); The method would be something like: $(this).find('span').each(function () { collection = collection + $(this).text(); }). Where the first this would equal #container. So in the end you can do: console.log(collection); and get: 123 How do I write the function that does this? Thanks!

  I have two classes A & B, and a listbox. I assign listBox.ItemsSource equal to a collection of objects of type A. The listbox items are visualized using silverlight data templating, see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.datatemplate.aspx and http://www.codeproject.com/KB/WPF/UserControlAsDataTemplate.aspx for example. The listbox.ItemTemplate is a DataTemplate that uses class B to visualize the listbox items. Now, in my code-behind, inside any method of class B, if I do this.DataContext, it points to an object of type A. Thus, given an object of type B, I can find the corresponding object of type A. So far so good. My question is, given an object of type A, how can I navigate to the corresponding object of type B? Is this even possible in SL?

• Dynamic allocated array is not freed

  I'm using the code above to dynamically allocate an array, do some work inside the function, return an element of the array and free the memory outside of the function. But when I try to deallocate the array it doesn't free the memory and I have a memory leak. The debugger pointed to the myArray variable shows me the error CXX0030.   I have a log file containing a stack trace split over a number of lines. I need to read this file into a batch file and remove all of the lines breaks. As a first step, I tried this: if exist "%log_dir%\Log.log" ( for /F "tokens=*" %%a in ("%log_dir%\Log.log") do @echo %%a ) My expectation was that this would echo out each line of the log file. I was then planning to concatenate these lines together and set that value in a variable. However, this code doesn't do what I would expect. I have tried changing the value of the options for delims and tokens, but the only output I can get is the absolute path to the log file and nothing from the contents of this file. How can I set a variable to be equal to the lines of text in a file with the line breaks removed?

  Is there a way to pass a wrap and unwrap a TObject descendent in an OleVariant? I am trying to pass a TObject across automation objects. I know it's not a good idea but I don't have a good alternative.   As mentioned in this answer simply calling the destructor for the second time is already undefined behavior 12.4/14(3.8). For example: class Class { public: ~Class() {} }; // somewhere in code: { Class* object = new Class(); object->~Class(); delete object; // UB because at this point the destructor call is attempted again } In this example the class is designed in such a way that the destructor could be called multiple times - no things like double-deletion can happen. The memory is still allocated at the point where delete is called - the first destructor call doesn't call the ::operator delete() to release memory. For example, in Visual C++ 9 the above code looks working. Even C++ definition of UB doesn't directly prohibit things qualified as UB from working. So for the code above to break some implementation and/or platform specifics are required. Why exactly would the above code break and under what conditions?

But MySQL reports 4 unique entries for each level. In other words, number of unique elements for each level is always equal to number of rows in log table. Is that a bug, a feature or my misunderstanding?

  Is there way to test for both 0 and NULL with one equality operator? I realize I could do this: WHERE field = 0 OR field IS NULL But my life would be a hundred times easier if this would work: WHERE field IN (0, NULL) (btw, why doesn't that work?) I've also read about converting NULL to 0 in the SELECT statement (with COALESCE). The framework I'm using would also make this unpleasant. Realize this is oddly specific, but is there any way to test for 0 and NULL with one WHERE predicate?
