  • Cannot find System.Web.Script.Service namespace error after upgrading to Visual studio 2010

    - by Gavin
I've just upgraded a VS 2008 project to VS 2010, converting the project but keeping the target as .NET 3.5 (SP1 is installed). My project worked without issue under VS 2008 on another machine. I've added references to System.Web.Extensions.dll but I'm still getting the following errors from code in the App_Code folder: 1) Cannot find System.Web.Script.Service namespace 2) Type 'System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptService' is not defined. 3) Type 'System.Runtime.Serialization.Json.DataContractJsonSerializer' is not defined. Anyone have any ideas what the problem might be as I'm pretty stumped? :(

  • Code Completion -- Aptana Eclipse Plugin

    - by jwmajors81
I have been doing javascript development for the last couple weeks and have tried JSDT and Aptana to assist in code completion. JSDT wasn't very good at all, but I did have more luck with Aptana (used as eclipse plug-in, not the standalone product). The problem I'm encountering is that when I create javascript classes I cannot get code completion to work. For example, if I use the following then code completion doesn't work: var foo = new function(value){ this.myMethod= function(){ } } I have also verified that the following won't work: function foo(value){ this.myMethod= function(){ } } I have found that using a JSON style does work: var foo = { myMethod: function(){ } } Does anyone know why Aptana works for the last style, but not the first? Using the JSON style won't work for me because I have to have seperate instances of the class in question. Also, I am not very successful in getting code completion to work across files. For example, if I have 3 files in the javascript directory then I usually cannot get Aptana to pick up the JSON style markup in the other two classes. This DID work at one point (for the first 2 classes I created), but since then whenever I add new classes they aren't picked up. Thank you very much for you assistance. Jeremy

  • jQuery plugin for Event Driven Architecture?

    - by leeand00
Are there any Event Driven Architecture jQuery plugins? Step 1: Subscribing The subscribers subscribe to the event handler in the middle, and pass in a callback method, as well as the name of the event they are listening for... i.e. The two green subscribers will be listening for p0 events. And the blue subscriber will be listening for p1 events. Step 2: The p0 event is fired by another component to the Event Handler A p0 event is fired to the Event Handler The event handler notifies it's subscribers of the event, calling the callback methods they specified when they subscribed in Step 1: Subscribing. Note that the blue subscriber is not notified because it was not listening for p0 events. Step 3: The p1 event is fired a component to the Event Handler The p1 event is fired by another component Just as before except that now the blue subscriber receives the event through its callback and the other two green subscribers do not receive the event. Images by leeand00, on Flickr I can't seem to find one, but my guess is that they just call it something else in Javascript/jquery Also is there a name for this pattern? Because it isn't just a basic publisher/subscriber, it has to be called something else I would think.

  • IDataRecord.IsDBNull causes an System.OverflowException (Arithmetic Overflow)

    - by Ciddan
Hi! I have a OdbcDataReader that gets data from a database and returns a set of records. The code that executes the query looks as follows: OdbcDataReader reader = command.ExecuteReader(); while (reader.Read()) { yield return reader.AsMovexProduct(); } The method returns an IEnumerable of a custom type (MovexProduct). The convertion from an IDataRecord to my custom type MovexProduct happens in an extension-method that looks like this (abbrev.): public static MovexProduct AsMovexProduct(this IDataRecord record) { var movexProduct = new MovexProduct { ItemNumber = record.GetString(0).Trim(), Name = record.GetString(1).Trim(), Category = record.GetString(2).Trim(), ItemType = record.GetString(3).Trim() }; if (!record.IsDBNull(4)) movexProduct.Status1 = int.Parse(record.GetString(4).Trim()); // Additional properties with IsDBNull checks follow here. return movexProduct; } As soon as I hit the if (!record.IsDBNull(4)) I get an OverflowException with the exception message "Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow." StackTrace: System.OverflowException was unhandled by user code Message=Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow. Source=System.Data StackTrace: at System.Data.Odbc.OdbcDataReader.GetSqlType(Int32 i) at System.Data.Odbc.OdbcDataReader.GetValue(Int32 i) at System.Data.Odbc.OdbcDataReader.IsDBNull(Int32 i) at JulaAil.DataService.Movex.Data.ExtensionMethods.AsMovexProduct(IDataRecord record) [...] I've never encountered this problem before and I cannot figure out why I get it. I have verified that the record exists and that it contains data and that the indexes I provide are correct. I should also mention that I get the same exception if I change the if-statemnt to this: if (record.GetString(4) != null). What does work is encapsulating the property-assignment in a try {} catch (NullReferenceException) {} block - but that can lead to performance-loss (can it not?). I am running the x64 version of Visual Studio and I'm using a 64-bit odbc driver. Has anyone else come across this? Any suggestions as to how I could solve / get around this issue? Many thanks!

  • jQuery Cycle plugin z-index float problem

    - by Antony Carthy
When I try to place an element on top of my jQuery Cycle element, it doesn't work. The element is always behind the jQuery cycle element. I use float: right; to position the element, and set its z-index to 100000, to no avail. Firebug sees the Cycle element and its children as having low z-indexes, and shows the floating element to be in the right place. The element never shows above the Cycling images. <!-- the cycling set --> <div id='headerimages'> <img src='images/header1.jpg' alt='' style='' /> <img src='images/header2.jpg' alt='' style='' /> <img src='images/header3.jpg' alt='' style='' /> </div> <!-- the floating element --> <img src='images/logotransparent.png' alt='' id='logo' />

  • How to edit Build system paths in Visual Studio 2005

    - by pragadheesh
Hi, I want to change the build system path for building my VC++ project in VS2005. When I try to build the project, I'm getting an error that a specified header file cannot be opened. I have that header file in "Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0\Include". But the path present in 'Build system path' is "Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0\Include" which i found in the Error dialog box when i tried to open that header file through the code. So I want to change the path in build system path to "Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0\Include". How can i do this.? How to open Build system paths in VS2005.?

  • How to debug nondeterministic access violation crash?

    - by Special Touch
Our C#/COM/C++ application is crashing and I need help debugging it. Running with gflags enabled and WinDbg attached, we determined the crashes are caused by an access violation, but we haven't been able to narrow it down any more than that. We are not seeing the issue on all machines; there are a couple of machines that seem to reproduce the issue frequently but not deterministically. We have observed the application crash from simply switching away from the application (say, Alt-Tab) and then back. Output from WinDbg is below. We have been trying to systematically comment out areas of code that could be causing the problem, but we haven't had much success yet. Any suggestions on what debugging steps or tools we should try? !analyze -v EXCEPTION_RECORD: ffffffff -- (.exr 0xffffffffffffffff) ExceptionAddress: 1a584ff2 (+0x1a584ff1) ExceptionCode: c0000005 (Access violation) ExceptionFlags: 00000000 NumberParameters: 2 Parameter[0]: 00000000 Parameter[1]: 1a584ff2 Attempt to read from address 1a584ff2 PROCESS_NAME: ProcessFiles.exe ERROR_CODE: (NTSTATUS) 0xc0000005 - The instruction at 0x%08lx referenced memory at 0x%08lx. • System.Web.Security.FormsAuthentication.Encrypt returns null

    - by Mustafakidd
I'm trying to encrypt some userData to create my own custom IPrincipal and IIdentity objects using Forms authentication - I've serialized an object representing my logged in user to Json and created my FormsAuthentication ticket like so: string user_item = GetJsonOfLoggedinUser();/*get JSON representation of my logged in user*/ System.Web.Security.FormsAuthenticationTicket ticket = new System.Web.Security.FormsAuthenticationTicket(1, WAM.Utilities.SessionHelper.LoggedInEmployee.F_NAME + " " + WAM.Utilities.SessionHelper.LoggedInEmployee.L_NAME, DateTime. Now, DateTime.Now.AddMinutes(30), false, user_item); string encrypted_ticket = System.Web.Security.FormsAuthentication.Encrypt(ticket); HttpCookie auth_cookie = new HttpCookie( System.Web.Security.FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName, encrypted_ticket); Response.Cookies.Add(auth_cookie); However, the string encrypted_ticket is always null. Is there a limit on the length of the user_item string? Thanks Mustafa

  • Running msiexec from a service (Local System account)

    - by Jarrod
    We are working on an update system for our software. The updater should in the background as a service, and when an update is available, downloads and installs it. We need the service to install the update since the msi requires elevation to run, but some of our clients will be restricted users. The MSI is a WIX MSI and does a Major Upgrade when run. The problem is, the update does not seem to work when ran from our service. I can see msiexec run, and it returns successfully, but seems to make no changes to the system. The same command, when run from my user account works as expected. Is there some caveat to running msiexec from a Local System service? We are simply doing: System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("msiexec.exe", arguments);

  • prototype.js equivalent to jquery ajaxSettings cache = true addthis plugin

    - by openstepmedia
I need help from a prototype.js expert: I'm trying to achieve the following (taken from the addthis forum), and port the solution from jquery to prototype.js (I'm using magento). Original post is here: http://www.addthis.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=22217 For the getScript() function, I can create a custom function to load the remote js, however I'm trying to load the js file via the prototype ajax call, and trying to avoid having the script cached in the browser. <script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("#changeURL").click(function() { $(".addthis_button").attr("addthis:url","http://www.example.com"); window.addthis.ost = 0; window.addthis.ready(); }); }); // prevent jQuery from appending cache busting string to the end of the URL var cache = jQuery.ajaxSettings.cache; jQuery.ajaxSettings.cache = true; jQuery.getScript('http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js'); // Restore jQuery caching setting jQuery.ajaxSettings.cache = cache; </script> <p id="changeURL">Change URL</p> <a class="addthis_button" addthis:url="http://www.google.com"></a> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=rahf"></script>

  • Using SimpleModal (jQuery plugin) to display a popup iFrame without unnecessary scrollbars

    - by Alex Black
I'm using SimpleModal: http://www.ericmmartin.com/projects/simplemodal/ And displaying an iframe, as per the example: // Display an external page using an iframe var src = "http://365.ericmmartin.com/"; $.modal('<iframe src="' + src + '" height="450" width="830" style="border:0">', { closeHTML:"", containerCss:{ backgroundColor:"#fff", borderColor:"#fff", height:450, padding:0, width:830 }, overlayClose:true }); And the popup has two sets of scrollbars, one perhaps for the HTML element representing the popup, and one for the iFrame. Try the demo to see. Ideally I'd like no scrollbars if the content fits, otherwise a single vertical scrollbar. Any ideas? Thanks! Alex

  • Windows Forms Host + System.Windows.Forms.DataVisualization.Chart

    - by dark-elf2
Good day all I have the following question: I would like to use Chart from Windows Forms due to the fact that it allows to build much more types of graphical visualisation that one from WPF Toolkit does. So, I am adding Chart control for Windows Forms as a child element into the WindowsFormsHost. But, when I run the application I and all my clients see only white area. Though, any other Windows Forms Control works great in Windows Forms Host. What is wrong with the Chart control? Here is the XAML code <Window x:Class="WpfApplication1.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:wfi="clr-namespace:System.Windows.Forms.Integration;assembly=WindowsFormsIntegration" xmlns:wf="clr-namespace:System.Windows.Forms;assembly=System.Windows.Forms" xmlns:CHR="clr-namespace:System.Windows.Forms.DataVisualization.Charting;assembly=System.Windows.Forms.DataVisualization" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300"> <Grid> <wfi:WindowsFormsHost x:Name="mainFGrid" > <CHR:Chart x:Name="mainChart" /> </wfi:WindowsFormsHost> </Grid> </Window> Kind regards, Anatoliy Sova

  • jQuery validation plugin and .ajax

    - by FALCONSEYE
So, I have a form where I load divs as I go asking for various user input and displaying some offers. I have the following: $("#calcPrice").click(function() { $("#invPricing").validate({ rules: { ... }, messages: {... } , submitHandler: function(form) { .... $.ajax({ }); $.ajax({ }); return false; } }); My problem is after validation, none of the ajax calls work. If I remove the validation methods (rules, messages, submitHandler), everything works fine. Can somebody tell me what I am missing here? thanks in advance. btw, these are the ajax calls: $.ajax({ dataType: "json", type: "get", url: <cfoutput>"#actURL#"</cfoutput>, data: formData+"&p_type=LOW&returnJSON=true", cache: false, success: function(result) { // fields to populate: $("#rent").val(result.RENT); $("#discount").val(result.DISCOUNT); $("#salesPrice1").val(result.SALESPRICE); $("#cashPrice1").val(result.CASHSALESPRICE); $("#tax1").val(result.SALESTAX); $("#payment1").val(result.PAYMENTS); } , error: function(xmlHttpRequest, status, err) { confirm('Error!' + err); } }); $.ajax({ dataType: "json", type: "get", url: <cfoutput>"#actURL#"</cfoutput>, data: formData+"&p_type=HIGH&returnJSON=true", cache: false, success: function(result) { // fields to populate: $("#rent").val(result.RENT); $("#discount").val(result.DISCOUNT); $("#salesPrice2").val(result.SALESPRICE); $("#cashPrice2").val(result.CASHSALESPRICE); $("#tax2").val(result.SALESTAX); $("#payment2").val(result.PAYMENTS); } , error: function(xmlHttpRequest, status, err) { confirm('Error!' + err); } }); I am basically displaying two offers one Low, one High.

I am trying to do "streaming" speech recognition in C# from a TCP socket. The problem I am having is that SpeechRecognitionEngine.SetInputToAudioStream() seems to require a Stream of a defined length which can seek. Right now the only way I can think to make this work is to repeatedly run the recognizer on a MemoryStream as more input comes in. Here's some code to illustrate: SpeechRecognitionEngine appRecognizer = new SpeechRecognitionEngine(); System.Speech.AudioFormat.SpeechAudioFormatInfo formatInfo = new System.Speech.AudioFormat.SpeechAudioFormatInfo(8000, System.Speech.AudioFormat.AudioBitsPerSample.Sixteen, System.Speech.AudioFormat.AudioChannel.Mono); NetworkStream stream = new NetworkStream(socket, true); appRecognizer.SetInputToAudioStream(stream, formatInfo); // At the line above a "NotSupportedException" complaining that "This stream does not support seek operations." Does anyone know how to get around this? It must support streaming input of some sort, since it works fine with the microphone using SetInputToDefaultAudioDevice(). Thanks, Sean
