  • Can I un-check a group of RadioBottoms inside a group box?

    - by Claire Huang
radio bottoms inside a group Box will be treated as a group of bottoms. They are mutual exclusive. How can I clean up their check states?? I have several radio bottoms, one of them are checked. How can I "clean" (uncheck) all radio bottoms?? "setChecked" doesn't work within a group, I tried to do following things but failed. My code is as following, radioButtom is inside a groupBox, and I want to unchecked it. The first setChecked does works, but the second one doesn't, the radioBottom doesn't been unchecked MainWindow::MainWindow(QWidget *parent) : QMainWindow(parent), ui(new Ui::MainWindow) { QRadioButton *radioButton; ui->setupUi(this); radioButton->setChecked(true); radioButton->setChecked(false); } Where is the problem in my code?

  • How to pass jQuery variable with AJAX to PHP page

    - by Walden
    Trying to pass the variable "flickrurl" to a PHP page with jQuery/ajax. It works when using a plain text string and not the variable. Am I assigning the variable properly? see the full code in action here: http://is.gd/c9ytI $trash.droppable({ accept: '#gallery > li', activeClass: 'ui-state-highlight', drop: function(ev, ui) { deleteImage(ui.draggable); //set variable equal to src of image tag in #gallery > li var $flickrurl = $item.find('img').attr("src"); //pass variable to php page $.post("updateDB.php", $flickrurl ); } });

  • ngModel and component with isolated scope

    - by Artem Andreev
I am creating simple ui-datetime directive. It splits javascript Date object into _date, _hours and _minutes parts. _date uses jquery ui datepicker, _hours and _minutes - number inputs. See example: http://jsfiddle.net/andreev_artem/nWsZp/3/ On github: https://github.com/andreev-artem/angular_experiments/tree/master/ui-datetime As far as I understand - best practice when you create a new component is to use isolated scope. When I tried to use isolated scope - nothing works. ngModel.$viewValue === undefined. When I tried to use new scope (my example, not so good variant imho) - ngModel uses value on newly created scope. Of course I can create directive with isolated scope and work with ngModel value through "=expression" (example). But I think that working with ngModelController is a better practice. My questions: Can I use ngModelController with isolated scope? If it is not possible which solution is better for creating such component?

  • castle monorails httpHandlers

    - by bogdanbrudiu
I have a question and I hope you can help me solve it... I have a castle monorails application. In web.config file in httphandlers I have *.aspx maped to monorails (my hosting does not suport other extensions...) <add verb="*" path="*.aspx" type="Castle.MonoRail.Framework.MonoRailHttpHandlerFactory,Castle.MonoRail.Framework"/> The problem is that I have some Webforms pages that I want to work with aspx... So I am adding something like this to the web.config file... <add verb="*" path="connector.aspx*" type="System.Web.UI.PageHandlerFactory"/> <add verb="*" path="ChatPage.aspx*" type="System.Web.UI.PageHandlerFactory"/> <add verb="*" path="Logon.aspx*" type="System.Web.UI.PageHandlerFactory"/> Still it does not work.. What am I doing wrong?

  • Does Flickr "Know" if a Hotlinked Image Does Not Link Back to Source?

    - by Michael Robinson
From Flickr's community guidelines: "Do link back to Flickr when you post your photos elsewhere. The Flickr service makes it possible to post images hosted on Flickr to outside web sites. However, pages on other web sites that display images hosted on flickr.com must provide a link from each photo back to its photo page on Flickr." Our company currently allows image hotlinking for user-uploaded images. It turns out that this has been more popular than we had expected, and I would like to capitalize on this if possible. We will be altering the guidelines to include a clause similar to Flickr's, quoted above. As hotlinking costs us, both in terms of server load and bandwidth, we would like to get at least something out of it, other than merely a warm feeling inside. My question: Does Flickr "know" if a hotlinked image does not link back to its source? Bonus: if Flickr knows, how?

  • Can my Facelets converter depend on a `ui:repeat` loop var?

    - by harto
    The following doesn't work as I'd hoped: <ul> <ui:repeat var="i" value="#{fn:split('1,2,3,4', ',')}"> <li> <h:outputText value="1.2345"> <f:convertNumber minFractionDigits="#{i}" maxFractionDigits="#{i}" /> </h:outputText> </li> </ui:repeat> </ul> I was hoping to see: 1.2 1.23 1.234 1.2345 Instead I see: 1 1 1 1 What am I missing? My real use-case involves a RichFaces rich:dataTable component instead of a ui:repeat, but the gist is the same.

  • How to provide Input to Dialogs designed by Qt Designer

    - by GG
Hello, I am a Qt beginner and working with Qt Designer to develop some small UI elements. I read http://doc.trolltech.com/4.5/designer-using-a-ui-file.html to use these GUI elements in my code and using multiple inheritance approach. I am introducing bookmark feature which somewhat look like http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/3041/screenshotyb.png. Now the problem I am facing is How can I show all existing bookmark folders in the drop down(say folders are in a QVector). So my main problem is how can I pass some inputs to the UI element. I think I'm clear, please let me know if further explanation is required. Sorry for adding links directly, rich formatting in my browser is not working. Thanks in advance,

  • Is it good to continue as MFC developer or good to know .NET as well?

    - by AKN
Normally people say MFC is little clumsy. It makes UI developement slightly difficult to maintain since it has lot of auto generated code. It has good architecture (doc/view) but is not transparent like Win32 programming to understand how window program works in the background. So with this situation, is it good to extend the exposure on MFC programming or better to switch to .NET since for faster UI design with ease in maintenance. How globally companies are looking into MFC as a technology for UI developments. Are they comfortable in supporting their developers to continue with MFC or looking for changing their development technology.

  • How should it work if I want a page to have a theme-roller (more or less like the jQuery themeroller

    - by DanC
The basic idea is to create a page that gives the user the ability to choose a skin or theme from a menu. When the user selects the desired skin/theme, it should be applied to the page, just like the jquery ui theme roller page. So, to be more precise, what I am trying to know is how to apply dynamically the style to a page - how to load the css and so forth. On the jquery ui theme roller, is there any javascript triggered after the new set of styles is loaded? (for js positioning or sizing?) (The answer may be simple as "just create a new style element and set its src"...) Just to be clear, I don't need the option to let users customize the UI, I want them just to be able to pick from a few pre set styles. Thanks!

  • Generating changelogs from commit-comments - bad idea?

    - by Adam Asham
I work for a small company (<10 developers) where we use Svn and to some extent Git. We have no release system implemented. We don't tag our applications with a release numbers so as you can imagine, we don't keep track of changes between releases very well. With this in mind I've been thinking about generating changelogs from the commit-comments. It doesn't have to be an awful idea if you implement guidelines for how to write comments. Or am I fooling myself thinking that colleagues will follow these guidelines? Most of them don't bother adding comments today but I'm hoping that will change if they become aware of how to formulate themselves and that you don't have to comment on every single commit. Or would we it be more wise to gather information from our bug/project managing software and write the changelogs manually (which unfortunately is something nobody wants to do)?

  • How to generate a Makefile with source in sub-directories using just one makefile.

    - by James Dean
    I have source in a bunch of subdirectories like: src/widgets/apple.cpp src/widgets/knob.cpp src/tests/blend.cpp src/ui/flash.cpp In the root of the project I want to generate a single Makefile using a rule like: %.o: %.cpp $(CC) -c $< build/test.exe: build/widgets/apple.o build/widgets/knob.o build/tests/blend.o src/ui/flash.o $(LD) build/widgets/apple.o .... build/ui/flash.o -o build/test.exe When I try this it does not find a rule for build/widgets/apple.o. Can I change something so that the %.o: %.cpp is used when it needs to make build/widgets/apple.o ?

  • Netbeans Java SE GUI Builder: private initComponents() problem

    - by maSnun
When I build a GUI for my Java SE app with Netbeans GUI builder, it puts all the codes in the initComponents() method which is private. I could not change it to public. So, all the components are accessible only to the class containing the UI. I want to access those components from another class so that I can write custom event handlers and everything. Most importantly I want to separate my GUI code and non-GUI from each other. I can copy paste the GUI code and later make them public by hand to achieve what I want. But thats a pain. I have to handcraft a portion whenever I need to re-design the UI. What I tried to do: I used the variable identifier to make the text box public. Now how can I access the text box from the Main class? I think I need the component generated in a public method as well. I am new to Java. Any helps? Here's the sample classes: The UI (uiFrame.java) /* * To change this template, choose Tools | Templates * and open the template in the editor. */ /* * uiFrame.java * * Created on Jun 3, 2010, 9:33:15 PM */ package barcode; import java.util.logging.Level; import java.util.logging.Logger; import javax.swing.JFileChooser; import javax.swing.UIManager; import javax.swing.UnsupportedLookAndFeelException; import net.sourceforge.barbecue.output.OutputException; /** * * @author masnun */ public class uiFrame extends javax.swing.JFrame { /** Creates new form uiFrame */ public uiFrame() { try { try { // Set cross-platform Java L&F (also called "Metal") UIManager.setLookAndFeel(UIManager.getSystemLookAndFeelClassName()); } catch (ClassNotFoundException ex) { Logger.getLogger(uiFrame.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } catch (InstantiationException ex) { Logger.getLogger(uiFrame.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } catch (IllegalAccessException ex) { Logger.getLogger(uiFrame.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } catch (UnsupportedLookAndFeelException ex) { Logger.getLogger(uiFrame.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } } finally { } initComponents(); } /** This method is called from within the constructor to * initialize the form. * WARNING: Do NOT modify this code. • How to automatically run in the background?

    - by Hun1Ahpu
I'm not sure that it's not implemented yet, I hope that it is. But I know that in .Net programmers should manually run time-consuming task in the background thread. So every time we handle some UI event and we understand that this will take some time we also understand that this will hang UI thread and our application. And then we make all this Background work things and handle callbacks or whatever. So my question is: Is there in some language/platform a mechanism that will automatically run time-consuming tasks in the background and will do all related work itself? So we just write the code for handling specific UI event and this code will be somehow detected as time-consuming and will be executed in background. And if there isn't, then why?

  • MySQL Rank Not Matching High Score in Table

    - by boddie
While making a game the MySQL call to get the top 10 is as follows: SELECT username, score FROM userinfo ORDER BY score DESC LIMIT 10 This seems to work decently enough, but when paired with a call to get a individual player's rank the numbers may be different if the player has a tied score with other players. The call to get the players rank is as follows: SELECT (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM userinfo ui WHERE (ui.score, ui.username) >= (uo.score, uo.username)) AS rank FROM userinfo uo WHERE username='boddie'; Example results from first call: +------------+-------+ | username | score | +------------+-------+ | admin | 4878 | | test3 | 3456 | | char | 785 | | test2 | 456 | | test1 | 253 | | test4 | 78 | | test7 | 0 | | boddie | 0 | | Lz | 0 | | char1 | 0 | +------------+-------+ Example results from second call +------+ | rank | +------+ | 10 | +------+ As can be seen, the first call ranks the player at number 8 on the list, but the second call puts him at number 10. What changes or what can I do to make these calls give matching results? Thank you in advance for any help!

  • Sending variables in URLs in PHP with echo

    - by alexpelan
Hi all, I can't really find good guidelines through google searches of the proper way to escape variables in URLs. Basically I am printing out a bunch of results from a mysql query in a table and I want one of the entries in each row to be a link to that result's page. I think this is easy, that I'm just missing a apostrophe or backslash somewhere, but I can't figure it out. Here's the line that's causing the error: echo "<a href = \"movies.php/?movie_id='$row['movie_id']'\"> Who Owns It? </a> "; and this is the error I'm getting: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE, expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or T_NUM_STRING If you could elaborate in your answers about general guidelines for working with echo and variables in urls, that would be great. Thanks.

  • How to nicely inform to the user that an unknown error has happened?

    - by Jaime Soriano
There are several guidelines for error reporting, that are usually based on giving to the user useful information when he or she does something wrong, but to give this kind of information you need to be handling the error and know that it can happen. There are also tons of articles about designing 404 error pages. But, what can you do when it's a new, unhandled error provoked by a failure in the shoftware? Are there some guidelines about how to nicely report totally unexpected errors in a web site, as an unexpected error 500? What header message should be shown in that case? something like "Sorry, an unexpected error has ocurred" would be enough? What information should be given? Should it have mechanisms to help to report the failure to developers? Which ones?

  • Thread Question

    - by Polaris
I have method which create background thread to make some action. In this background thread I create object. But this object while creating in runtime give me an exception : The calling thread must be STA, because many UI components require this. I know that I must use Dispatcher to make reflect something to UI. But in this case I just create an object and dont iteract with UI. This is my code: public void SomeMethod() { BackgroundWorker worker = new BackgroundWorker(); worker.DoWork += new DoWorkEventHandler(Background_Method); worker.RunWorkerAsync(); } void Background_Method(object sender, DoWorkEventArgs e) { TreeView tv = new TreeView(); } How can I create objects in background thread? • Qt applications on new Mac App Store

    - by PDI
I have a Qt app that runs on OS X that has potential to go on the new Mac App Store. I have reviewed the guidelines at https://developer.apple.com/appstore/mac/resources/approval/guidelines.html. I also saw a post here on SO about Java and the AppStore. Has anyone else considered this with their own apps and whether or not the Qt framework will run afoul of the App police? You still have to stay within the Apple HIG, i.e. no theming and cannot use private APIs. Still seems like a risky proposition over pure ObjC. Anyone else tempted?

  • Pyjamas import statements

    - by Gordon Worley
I'm starting to use Pyjamas and I'm running into some annoyances. I have to import a lot of stuff to make a script work well. For example, to make a button I need to first from pyjamas.ui.Button import Button and then I can use Button. Note that import pyjamas.ui.Button and then using Button.Button doesn't work (results in errors when you build to JavaScript, at least in 0.7pre1). Does anyone have a better example of a good way to do the import statements in Pyjamas than what the Pyjamas folks have on their site? Doing things their way is possible, but ugly and overly complicated from my perspective, especially when you want to use a dozen or more ui components.

  • Ruby on Rails: how to sort data in an array of active record objects right before iterating?

    What is the best way to sort an array of active record objects by by a field? This array is a field of an object, link_pages, and I want it sorted by the field "sequence" <% @menu_bar.link_pages.each do |lp| %> <li id="page_<%= lp.id%>" class="ui-state-default"> <span class="ui-icon ui-icon-arrowthick-2-n-s"></span> <font size=5><%= lp.name %></font> | <%= link_to "remove", :controller => "admin/menu_bars", :action => :remove_page_from_menu, :page => lp.id, :id => @menu_bar.id %> </li> <% end %> maybe there is a way to do @menu_bar.link_pages.sort_by_sequence.each do .... that would be slick... but I just don't know.

  • Where should I define Enums?

    - by Ciel
Hi: I'm setting up a new app, with a Repository layer/assembly, a Services layer/assembly, and a UI assembly. So I end up with namespaces such as: App.UI App.Biz.Services App.Data.Repositories And then I have enums for the args that are used by all 3 layers. Only place that makes sense is to put them in the Cross cutting assembly. (define them in Data layer too low, as UI should have no direct ref to them, defined in Services, too high for Repository layer, which shouldn't be referencing upwards). But...which namespace in Common? Namespaces should mostly be used to define concerns, rather than Type... I've always used something like: namespace App.Common.Enums {...} but it's always felt a bit of a hack that works for me, but not well in a large org where everybody is generating Enums, and if we put them all in Enums folder it's going to make the code folder harder to understand later. Any suggestions?
