• Managing multiple blogs (wordpress) from one control panel

  This is the deal: I have more than one blog (not running yet) that I want to install in subfolders for one of my domains. Each blog will obviously have its own look and feel and content. I could just have a set of control panels and administer them individually or I could somehow manage them form a single control panel. Issues I've come across are: Some plugins offer this functionality while suppressing other features like auto draf saving, in-post category and tag creation, image upload etc. I'm not necessarily looking for a ready solution, more like some guidance on how to approach this particular problem in the best possible manner. I'm looking for a fully working scenario, not some plugin that allows me to more or less simulate the one-blog-administration experience.

• Regular non-low energy bluetooth for IOS

  Ok, so I can't get my app to connect with a peripheral using bluetooth low-energy(my app is installed on an iPhone 5s and I have LightBlue installed on an iPhone 4S, simulating a peripheral. I also have light blue installed on the 5s, simulating a central, to verify that the two can connect and they do.) I have verified that the centralManager is instantiating and the State is powered on. So, my question is, is regular bluetooth still a viable option? Can I just use the GameKit API and go that route? • sharepoint wss 3.0 user domain

  I've inherited a sharepoint wss 3.0 farm that is pulling users from 2 different domains, say domainA and domainB. So if I go into Add User and Browse, and type Smith, it is coming up with domainA\jsmith and domainB\jsmith. The company has moved away from domainA and uses only domainB now. So I want to remove domainA from the sharepoint configuration. I don't need to migrate existing sharepoint users, I just want for the domainA users to stop showing up when new users are added. I've been through every page I can find in Central Administration and I don't see where the names of the domain controller(s) are specified. It is using windows auth / NTLM.

• CakePHP Permissions, works fine on local server, but fails after upload.

  I created a website with CakePHP, set up all of the permissions so guests could view certain parts, and members only in certain areas, all with an administration panel. Whenever I test this on my local testing server, it works perfectly, if I login I can view the content, if I logout, I can't. However, when I upload exactly the same files and upload and import the database, it fails to work, it just disallows all member access regardless of if you're logged in or not, this even applies to administrators. I'm not sure what's going on here, any help would be appreciated. If you need any more information, just ask. Regards, Alz454.

• SharePoint job queued, but never starts.

  I'm attempting to retract a solution from SharePoint. I've started the job via Central Admin site as well as from stsadm. The job is queued, however, it will stay in a state of pending for days. The SharePoint services - Admin and Timer service - are started. Any suggestoins of why the retraction jobs are queued, but never started? I'm really at a loss of what to try next, so anything will be helpful. Thank you!

  There is one server with multiple clients. The clients are viewing subsets of the servers entire data. If the data that a client is viewing changes, the client should be informed of the changes so that it displays the current data. Example: Two clients are viewing a list of users in an administration screen. One client adds a new user to the list and modifies the permissions of another user. The other client sees the changes propagated to their view. In the client side code I would like the users list to be updated by the framework itself, raising changed events such that it will be redrawn - similar to 'cells' or dataflow. I am looking specifically for a .NET or java implementation.

• Network Communication program in python

  Hi all, Basically what I'm trying to achieve is a program which allow users to connect to a each other over a network in, essentially, a chat room. What I'm currently struggling with is writing the code so that the users can connect to each other without knowing the IP-address of the computer that the other users are using or knowing the IP-address of a server. Does anyone know of a way in which I could simply have all of the users scan the IP range of my network in order to find any active 'room' and then give the user a chance to connect to it? Also, the hope is that there will be no need for a central server to run this from, rather every user will simply be connected to all other user, essentially being the server and client at the same time.

• Ideas on limiting content to single printed page?

  I have 5-6 text areas that users fill out in a template (a couple of columns, basically a newsletter format). I'm needing to limit their content to one printed page, but I'm having a hard time coming up with practical solutions. The printed format (margin, font size, etc.) will be the same for all users, as it's printed from a central source. I've had a couple of ideas, but all of them seem rather unreliable and difficult to implement: Determine height of content using JavaScript and estimate the number of printed pages from that. The problem with this is that browser font sizes can vary, it's only a rough estimate (pixels to inches), etc. Limit the number of characters. This is problematic because there are various text fields, certain characters (like M) take up more space than others (like I), and line breaks obviously count for much more. What ideas do you all have? I appreciate your help!

  Before explaining my problem let me tell you the Mercurial setup, We have the following repos, RELEASE DEVELOPMENT BUGFIX All the above repo are running on a central server using IIS and hgwebdir.cgi Now coming to the problem, I clone a local repo from DEVELOPMENT repo. I make changes to the clone and commit (Not push). I make a bundle from the clone and pass the bundle to QA who has cloned the RELEASE repo. Now I try to apply the bundle to the RELEASE repo clone using hg unbundle I get an error, abort: error: ftp error: no host given What am I doing wrong? Can you give solution to the above problem keeping a Windows setup in mind?

• Get the size of a Silverlight window

  Hey! I'm creating a Silverlight 4 Out Of Browser application. I have my MainPage that will be the "central" application. I want to be able to display another Control next to the MainPage, by using a Popup and I want it to be displayed right next to the MainPage. How can I get the coordinates of the upper right corner of the MainPage at each moment? (Beware that this MainPage can be moved all over the screen and hence I will need to dynamically get the corner coordinates, in order to display my popup right next to the main window). • Using View multiple times in Interface Builder

  I'm using a UITableview and have a custom Cell with some labels. I set up all the constraints in Interface Builder. Now I'm using this Cell multiple times, I just copied it in IB. Now it's the time to change some of these contraints because of some bugs (I'm converting a iPhone App to an Universal). But it can't be right that I now have to set the constraints manually for every cell? How do I do right? If I want to control the constraints in one central place, do I have to set them up in Code?   So I'm writing a Django based website that allows users select a color scheme through an administration interface. I already have middleware/context processors that links the current request (based on domain) to the account. My question is how to dynamically serve the CSS with the account's custom color scheme. I see two options: Add a CSS block to the base template that overrides the styles w/variables passed in through a context processors. Use a custom URL (e.g. "/static/dynamic/css//styles.css") that gets routed to a view that grabs all the necessary values and creates the css file. I'm content with either option, but was wondering if anyone else out there has dealt with similar problems and could give some insight as to "Best Practices".

I'm trying to make an administration zone within a subfolder (also ZF) and a API Zend Application for my mobile Android application. The problem is: I rewrited all routes im my principal website, so now it always search for a route when I go to a subfolder. • How to make a custom template in WordPress work as a password protected page?

  I'm building a page with a custom template. The thing is, I need this page to be password protected, or at least accessible to logged in users, but even if I set it as such (Private/Password protected) in the New Pages section in WordPress Administration, it won't display the menu entry nor the content (if Private) or it would show the page contents immediately (if Password protected). I've read somewhere that the_content() function is what makes this work, but as you can guess, my custom template doesn't use the_content() at all, and it's all based on custom content. Do you happen to know how can I (re)implement these two options?

• ASP.NET Template Selector/Builder - Dynamic CMS

  I am currently building my own CMS for various reasons that could take a long to explain... However i am looking for a dynamic solution to create templates for pages within the CMS and all areas must be editable via the administration area, maybe large text areas broken into multiple areas, text and image area on a page etc. Following on from the above i would like to create the following: Create a new page (selecting a pre-defined template like below) http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/9872/nestedpages.png and then upon editing the page it would have created as many text editors required for each editable region or a file upload control for an image area for example. i am thinking of using nested masterpages for the design elements, just unsure the best-practice way to achieve the above (db structure etc) I somehow hope this provides enough information but are happy to answer any questions you may have.   I need a sequence of numbers for an application, and I am hoping to leverage the abilities of SQL Server to do it. This would be very bad obviously. Is this design safe in this regard? Is there something I can add that would add the necessary locking to make it safe? Note: I am aware of IDENTITY inserts in SQL Server - and that is not what I am looking for this in particular case. Specifically, I don't want to be inserting/deleting rows. This is basically to have a central table that manages the sequential number generator for a bunch of sequences.

• Should we use Nexus or Artifactory for a Maven Repo?

  We are using Maven for a large build process ( 100 modules). We have been storing our external dependencies in source control, and using that to update a local repo. However, we are ready to graduate to a local repo that can cache central so that we don't have to proactively download all 3rd parties (but we can still have a local repo to pull from). In addition we want to publish our internal build artifacts from a nightly build so that developers don't have to build the world. We are considering Nexus and Artifactory. What are the reasons for preferring one over the other? Are there others we should be considering?

• Distributing requests to Selenium Grid RC's?

  I've got a situation here where I have a central selenium grid hub, and several RC's running on my gogrid account. When I access it to run tests, it basically queues all the incoming test requests and executes them serially on only one of the RC's, instead of spreading them out to use available RC's. The tests come from multiple projects, so I'm not looking to parallelize the tests themselves, just to split the requests that come from multiple projects across the multiple RC's. From everything I've read, it seems like selenium grid should be doing this already, yet I only see one RC used to run every single test. Is there something I'm missing?

• Best way to use the same HTML on static web-pages

  If you use dynamic pages like JSP or asp.net, you can have your page template included, and then content added. But what if you have no server-side component and all pages are just HTML/JS? You can of course create a template then copy it for each page, but then if you want to change something you risk having to modify every page, even if you put most styling in CSS properly. Are there any non-awful ways to do this? I could see that an iframe could be used to load the content into the central page but that sounds nasty. Does HTML provide any way to include a base file and add to it?
