• How to set the pointer to the current row in the Datagridview in C Sharp

  I have a datagridview on the Windows Form in c#. I am updating and filling the table adapter on the cell event. The problem is that When I go to lower half of the datagrid which is not visible until I scroll down, as I click any cell, the table adapter is filled and updated and the pointerpoints to the very first row. Any suggestion on how to fix it. I have a ideas to record the top row of the datagridview that is visible and set the pointer to that row. But how to do it?

  I'm a SQL noob, and I need a little bit of help understanding the big picture of if it is possible, and if so how to go about filtering a result set based on the return value of a function which is passed one of the fields of the record. Let's say I have a table called "Numbers" with just one field: "Value". How could I correctly specify the following "pseudo-sql"?: SELECT Value FROM numbers WHERE IsPrime(Value)=true Can I accomplish such a thing, and if so, where/how do I put/store "IsPrime"? • Storing a set of values in Delphi

  I am trying to store a set of values in delphi, but i want to be able to address them using their name, instead of an assigned number. For example, an array of 'OldValues' would let me do OldValue[1] := InflationEdit.Text; Ideally however, i would like to have a value stored in 'Data.Inflation.OldValue' for example. For each identifier, such as Inflation, there is an OldValue, NewValue and StoredValue. There are about 12 of these identifiers. Is there some way i could store the values like this? that way i could then do something like: Data.Inflation.NewValue := Data.Inflation.OldValue; Data.Inflation.NewValue := InflationEdit.Text;

  I get this on a lot of Maven dependencies, though current source of pain is Spring. I'll set a Spring version and include it like so: <spring-version>3.0.0.RELEASE</spring-version> <!-- Spring framework --> <dependency> <groupId>org.springframework</groupId> <artifactId>spring-core</artifactId> <version>${spring-version}</version> </dependency> Which works as expected. I am however having problems setting my dependency on spring-ws-core for web services. The latest I can find in any repo is 2.0.0-M1. http://mvnrepository.com/artifact/org.springframework.ws/spring-ws-core Any clues on what I need to include in my maven POM to get Spring 3 web services to work :)

• PHP set timeout for script, set_time_limit not working

  I have a command-line PHP script that runs a wget request using each member of an array with foreach. This wget request can sometimes take a long time so I want to be able to set a timeout for killing the script if it goes past 15 seconds for example. I have PHP safemode disabled and tried set_time_limit(15) early in the script, however it continues indefinitely. I've given up troubleshooting set_time_limit() and was trying to find other ways to kill the script after 15 seconds of execution. However, I'm not sure if it's possible to check the time a script has been running while it's in the middle of a wget request at the same time (a do while loop did not work). Thanks for any tips!

• Better way to set unix permissions when deploying war file

  We have a vendor application where we download their updates and deploy a war file. We are deploying the war file on a unix application server running oracle application server 9i. I believe when we deploy the war file, we remove the previous install and then deploy the new war file. When we deploy the war file, sometimes we have to manually set the unix file permissions for the class and other files. We do this so all the unix user ids can run the processes they need. Is there a better way to do this?

  I have two collections a and b. I would like to compute the set of items in either a or b, but not in both (a logical exclusive or).   Simply put, if you try to read the value of a get variable, what happens if said variable had not be put into the URL. Example: you request the page test.php, in that file it tries to read the value of $_GET['message']. What happens in this case? dose the value just get returned as ''? Dose this mean, that if I am always expecting a value to be entered, and am not willing to accept a value of '' that I can just do something like $foo = $_GET['bar']; if($foo == ''){ // Handle my 'error' } else { // $foo should now have a value that I can work with } Please bare in mind I know that I could use isset($_GET['bar']) But I don't just want to know if it is set, I don't care if it is or not, I just care if it has a value that is more then just an empty string.

  Assume I have a set of weighted samples, where each samples has a corresponding weight between 0 and 1. I'd like to estimate the parameters of a gaussian mixture distribution that is biased towards the samples with higher weight. In the usual non-weighted case gaussian mixture estimation is done via the EM algorithm. Does anyone know an implementation (any language is ok) that permits passing weights? If not, does anyone know how to modify the algorithm to account for the weights? If not, can some one give me a hint on how to incorporate the weights in the initial formula of the maximum-log-likelihood formulation of the problem? Thanks!

• Can't set background colour for UIView from ViewController

  I have the following code in the view controller: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; ThemeManager *themer = [ThemeManager sharedInstance]; UIView *theView = self.view; UIColor *forBackground = [themer backgroundColour]; [theView setBackgroundColor:forBackground]; } but when execution gets to the setBackgroundColor line, I get the following error: *** -[NSCFNumber CGColor]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x1237c40 *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '*** -[NSCFNumber CGColor]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x1237c40' There's got to be something simple that I'm doing wrong, how do I set the background colour? Do I have to subclass the view and do it in there? I'd prefer not to have the extra class, even though that is better separation of the whole model/view/controller thing. Update: value returned by [themer backgroundColour] is constructed using colorWithPatternImage:, could this make a difference?

  I have a list element in my model instance. I am using Orbeon XForms. <mypage> <list name='mylist'/> <status /> </mypage> Status can be Private or Public. In xforms:binding, I want to set relevant attribute for showing/hiding the list. The list is bound to a drop-down. If status is Private I want to show the list, if status is Public I want to hide the list. • Checking if language is set in url with regex

  I have am working on a multi language file. My urls look something like this: http://www.mydomain.com/en/about/info http://www.mydomain.com/nl/about/info Now I use a small regex script that redirect the user when they use a link without language. The script looks like this: preg_match('~^/[a-z]{2}/~', $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] This finds out is there is a language set en|nl|de etc. This works fine on all links except for these: http://www.mydomain.com/en http://www.mydomain.com/nl There is no trailing slash so the regex can not find the given values. Anyone know a fix for this?

  Hi in my application there is web browser control to show some static html pages. The pages are displayed properly. but images are not displayed.. I tried with changing src-path but no success. my htmlpages folder is located at bin folder. And i am assigning it as. FileStream source = new FileStream(@"..\HtmlPages\supportHtml.html", FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read); if i open html files in browser, the images are displayed properly.. So, What is the correct path for images..?? If i set full path to src attribute of <img> tag..it works. but i think its not a proper way. :( EDIT: If i assign d:\myapp\bin\HtmlPages\support.gif then image is displayed. And if i assign "..\HtmlPages\support.gif" or "support.gif" image is not shown.

  Hi, I have a website using asp.net mvc in which I need to embed a flash file in view. I am unable to set the relative path for the flash file. If I use code behind( default.aspx default.aspx.cs) in a different solution with the same folder strucuture, browser is able to load the flash file. Based on the variables sourced from that file, I would try to launch application. But somehow the variables are not getting sourced as echo does not return any values.   Consider a simple result set from a mysql query. rs("description") and rs("description").Value should be considered as the same thing. However, depending on how you access them, you get different results (!!) Access rs("description") directly and you are returned a "Field" object. Or, more importantly, use it directly in a call, and you are returned a "Field" object. mydescription = rs("description") + " is the description" Assign it to another variable, and the Value of that object is assigned... mydescription = rs("description") the contents of "mydescription" is a string. Why this difference? At one point in the life of ASP they must have both worked exactly the same, so why have they changed, and how can I change it back?

  I'm doing some specific signal analysis, and I am in need of a method that would smooth out a given bell-shaped distribution curve. A running average approach isn't producing the results I desire. I want to keep the min/max, and general shape of my fitted curve intact, but resolve the inconsistencies in sampling.   Hi, I'm trying to set my window a child of the desktop, and i'm doing this like this: HWND ProgmanHwnd = ::FindWindowEx( ::FindWindowEx( ::FindWindow(L"Progman", L"Program Manager"), NULL, L"SHELLDLL_DefView", L""), NULL, L"SysListView32", L"FolderView"); SetParent(m_hWnd, ProgmanHwnd); This works fine in windowsXP, my window is underneath all windows and when i press the "show desktop" option the window shows and all other "normal" windows are hide. But in Win7 when i do the above code the same window is not displayed, in spy++ i can see that my window is a child window of the SysListView32 but it not display (and it has the WM_VISIBLE style)? What i'm missing? or what changed from winXP to win7? how can i do this to work on win7? Update: It's got something to do with aero theme, because if i change the desktop theme to the basic then the window is displayed, but if i switch back to one of the aero theme then is hided again.   I am trying to reset some values in a form using the a4j:actionParam tag. But it seams that null values never arrive in the target bean. The converter receives it correctly, returns null, but it is never set in the bean. The target is to fill in the start and endDate for different predefined values (last week, last month etc). • Set value in controller using nested resource

  I have two models, product and order. Product - cost - id Order - cost - product_id Each time someone places an order, it captures the product_id through a radio button value in the "new order" form. In the controller when creating the new order it needs to set order.cost to order.product.cost. Logically I thought the code should be something like this: def create ... @order.cost == @order.product.cost ... end However I can't seem to make it work at all, hence me asking the question here.   For several reasons, a lot of "webmaster guides" (like Google and Yahoo!'s webmaster guides/guidelines) repeats several times that it is better to always put the width and height attribute of the img tag. One of the most obvious reason is that the elements in the page won't seem to be "jumping around" to a new location after every picture is loaded (always setting the correct width/height sure gets rid of this behavior). And there are other reasons to follow these guidelines / best practices. So: if we consider that these are indeed good practices if there are a lot of pictures and they are changing often if pictures aren't changing between two .war re-deploy (that is: there's no user-contributed picture) if we don't want to manually edit all these width/height attributes How do we automatically/programmatically serve HTML pages where every img tag have their width/height attribute correctly set as the best practice recommend?
