• Access Grails domain class from GroovyShell script

  I'm trying to use GroovyShell to evaluate some snippets of code from within a Grails application, but I don't seem to be able to access our Grails domain classes. For example when I try to evaluate something like this: Eval.me("my.package.MyDomainClass.get(1)") I see an error like this: groovy.lang.MissingPropertyException: No such property: my for class: Script1 Any thoughts on how I can get this to work? • Designing a peer to peer network

  I am designing a simple peer to peer network. The basic architecture will be as follows: A central server- that keeps track of all the peers. The job of this server is to keep track of all the peers that join the network. Every peer could do things: a. Download a file from it's peer b. Push a file (send a file) to it's peer. Could anybody please tell me what would be the best design for such a system? What would be the problems that i might run into and so on. I am planning to use Java as the programming language to implement. Would it be a good choice? Also, is it necessary that i would need a Linux box to develop the system? or is it fine if i use a Windows machine? Your help will be much appreciated! Thanks!

  hello. I am developing functional domain specific embedded language within C++ to translate formulas into working code as concisely and accurately as possible. Right now my language looks something like this: // implies two nested loops j=0:N, i=0,j (range(i) < j < N)[T(i,j) = (T(i,j) - T(j,i))/e(i+j)]; // implies summation over above expression sum(range(i) < j < N))[(T(i,j) - T(j,i))/e(i+j)]; I am looking for possible syntax improvements/extensions or just different ideas about expressing mathematical formulas as clearly and precisely as possible. Can you give me some syntax examples relating to my question which can be accomplished in your language of choice which consider useful.   I'm using grails 2.3.5 with mongodb 3.0.1 and no hibernate installed. I've a domain class which uses mongo's ObjectId. import org.bson.types.ObjectId class Category { ObjectId id String name } And has a record in mongo database: { "_id": ObjectId("53f6c34c33a429240e2ab471"), "name": "art", "version": NumberLong("41") } When I do, Category.get(new ObjectId("53f6c34c33a429240e2ab471")) somewhere in grails app, it returns null but when I do Category.get("53f6c34c33a429240e2ab471") it then actually returns the result. Why, get() method does not process ObjectId type?

  I was thinking about making a little crop/resize batch processor online, and wanted to know if there was a way for me to do the following: upload image and specify dimensions click "process" and remote app resizes image image downloads automatically locally to wherever it was I uploaded it (say from my desktop), but with a new name (based on the time for example). This would make it so I could host a free image processor that never stored any data other than tempfiles. Is that possible? Something like Rails' send_file method, but I'm using Sinatra and am looking for something in pure ruby. What's the basic concept behind this? What if I wanted to do this for multiple files? Åssuming I can get multiple files uploaded no problem, how can I download all of them automatically?

I don't have experience with Rails style frameworks, like Grails, but I worked a lot with Hibernate, Struts, Spring ... I prefer a framework that let you naturally modify the business domain design with the less effort ( i.e. writing the sql querys to modify the tables and constrains, change the view pages, etc ... ).   I have added an IP address in IIS7 in the IP address and domain restrictions. From what I have read this should block all traffic to the folder apart from the allowed IP address. For some reason this does not work. If I access the section from my work computer all ok, when I access it from my phone I can still see the page. Does anyone have any idea why IIS is not blocking all the other IPs out? Thanks

I have a dynamic dns account where I map my machine's dynamic IP to an address say, www.xxx.yyy.net Now, I have registered another short domain name say www.yyy.com, the hosting is on a linux server. Now, my machine is actually a webserver which runs .net website which can be accessed by www.xxx.yyy.net I need my homepage(index.php) in my www.yyy.com handle the redirection in a way that the pages to be loaded from www.xxx.yyy.net/.... but it should look in the browser as www.yyy.com/... Is there any way to do this using php?

I know that injecting services like PlaceService or CalculationService etc fits very well but should I also create my domain objects with DI like a User? I register a cookie Set-Cookie EhdSite_SessionId=b0ptrr45xgclea55kjqp2o45; path=/; HttpOnly Do something on the same host (user always sends cookie header) Cookie EhdSite_SessionId=b0ptrr45xgclea55kjqp2o45 then I redirect user to other host After filling all the required data user went back to first host Here user doesn't send the cookie Does that mean that without expiration date cookie is destroyed by browser not when closing browser but when leaving the domain
