  • Why no DatePicker.setDateChangedListener() method

    Since most widgets have a standard method of setting a listener, setOnXXXListener(), just wondering why there is no setDateChangedListener() method for DatePicker? I know init(int, int, int, OnDateChangedListener) can be used for the same purpose, but surely there must be some reason why Google decided not to use the standard method here. I went through the API docs and couldn't find the reason. Would one of the gurus here know the answer to this?

  • Alternative to before </body> tag inline Javascript

    I know inline Javascript is frowned upon and with the new on-the-fly Javascript compressors that check for idle/unused function usage and omit the unused code, it seems good practice to have all your Javascript in an external file. My question is, in situations like FOUC (flash of unstyled content) which usually require little snippets of code right before the closing </body> tag, is there a JQuery resolution that would serve the same purpose, but from a remote Javascript file linked in the <head> of the document?

    Is there any tool to log current observers of a given object, in the spirit of what "gdb info gc-roots" does? I found "gdb info gc-references" could do that (sort of) as a by-product of its original purpose, but that won't work with non garbage collected apps. Thanks!

  • Lightweight Flash Video Recording Server

    I am currently using Wowza Media server for recording videos from webcam using Flash. However servers like Wowza, Red5 & Flash Media Server seem to be overkill for merely this task. Are there any alternative lightweight video recording servers which can be used for the purpose? My load would not be more than 5 users at a time and my server is Ubuntu 8.04. I tried Haxe Server but project seems to be outdated and won't compile on my Ubuntu.

I now want to write a while loop that states: while b2 isn't a perfect square: a ? a + 1 b2 ? a*a - N endwhile How would I do such a thing using BigInteger?     I was wondering if there is a recommended 'cross' Windows and Linux method for the purpose of converting strings from UTF-16LE to UTF-8? or one should use different methods for each environment? I've managed to google few references to 'iconv' , but for somreason I can't find samples of basic conversions, such as - converting a wchar_t UTF-16 to UTF-8. Anybody can recommend a method that would be 'cross', and if you know of references or a guide with samples, would very appreciate it. Thanks, Doori Bar

    Given a integer number and its reresentation in some arbitrary number system. The purpose is to find the base of the number system. For example, number is 10 and representation is 000010, then the base should be 10. Another example: number 21 representation is 0010101 then base is 2. One more example is: number is 6 and representation os 10100 then base is sqrt(2). Does anyone have any idea how to solve such problem?

Suppose a particular video is at max requested by 1000 users at the same instant of time, how many copies would be sufficient so that parallel streams can be provided to each user? Ideally 1 copy would solve the purpose, but what is the optimum number keeping the bandwidth and simultaneous access in mind?
