    This code gets 10 posts of all types that are linked to the term_name; global $wp_query; query_posts( array( "taxonomy_name" => "term_name", 'showposts' => 10 ) ); This code gets 10 posts of custom post type "message"; global $wp_query; query_posts( array( 'post_type' => 'message' 'showposts' => 10 ) ); This code however always ignores the post_type requirement but still selects all post types linked to the term_name; global $wp_query; query_posts( array( 'post_type' => 'message' , "taxonomy_name" => "term_name", 'showposts' => 10 ) ); I can't see how both can work individually but together they don't unless it might be a bug - any thoughts?

  • Does RVM "failover" to another ruby instance on error?

    Have a strange problem in that I have a Rake task that seems to be using multiple versions of Ruby. When one fails, it seems to try another one. Details MacBook running 10.6.5 rvm 1.1.0 Rubies: 1.8.7-p302, ree-1.8.7-2010.02, ruby-1.9.2-p0 Rake 0.8.7 Gem 1.3.7 Veewee (provisioning Virtual Machines using Opcode.com, Vagrant and Chef) I'm not entirely sure the specific details of the error matter, but since it might be an issue with Veewee itself. So, what I'm trying to do is build a new box base on a veewee definition. The command fails with an error about a missing method- but what's interesting is how it fails. Errors I managed to figure out that if I only have one Ruby installed with RVM, it just fails. If I have more than one Ruby install, it fails at the same place, but execution seems to continue in another interpreter. Here are two different clipped console outputs. I've clipped them for size. The full outputs of each error are available as a gist. Now, I've read this post, and the parameter as sent to the class constructor is defined as global::System.Nullable<global::System.DateTime> DoB So, it looks like it should accept a Nullable obj.   • problems with user control page

    I am starting to give up troubleshooting this issue I had... I had an .ascx page and had the following user control in it: <td> <Club:DatePicker ID="dp1" runat="server" /> </td> however in my code behind when I tried to write methods: public System.DateTime startDateTime { get { return dp1.SelectedDate.Add(tp1.SelectedTime.TimeOfDay); } set { dp1.SelectedDate = value; tp1.SelectedTime = value; } } It can't reference dp1(dp1 is underlined in red) as well as tp1... why is this?? I've tried to convert the solution to a web application and yet it doesn't work.     I'm trying to follow along with this UITableView tutorial and I'm afraid I'm getting confused. What I hope to accomplish is to create a grouped table, which resembles the look and feel of the following image (image source): For each "break" in the table, I assume that I need another section. I understand there is a global NSMutableArray, which acts as the data source to the UITableView. Inside this global array, there are dictionaries for sections and for data, but this is where I start getting confused. Should I create a unique table to store each section in addition to a new table for the rows that are part of that section? In other words, if I have five sections, will I end up with ten unique collections of data (one for each section and one to store the rows related to the section), which all eventually get stored in the global array?

When trying to retrieve the data programmatically from the dataset the Dataset field retrieval code throws a StronglyTypedException error.   • Why does this window object not have the eval function?

    I ran into an interesting (?) problem in the YUI rich edit demo on IE. When looking at the window object for the content editable frame used as the browser I see that the eval function is undefined (by running the following). javascript:alert(document.getElementById("editor_editor").contentWindow.eval) This only happens on IE (I checked on IE6 and IE8), and it doesn't happen on Firefox or Chrome. All the other window functions and properties seem to be in order, now I realise that eval is not really defined on the window but on the global object but my understanding was that in browsers the window is the global object (also eval does appear on all other windows so why not on this one?). Does anyone know if this is a know bug/limitation in IE and how I can get to eval in the context of the global object of this frame? (I need the side effects to be available to anything running from within this frame).

  • How should I change my Graph structure (very slow insertion)?

    Hi, This program I'm doing is about a social network, which means there are users and their profiles. The profiles structure is UserProfile. Now, there are various possible Graph implementations and I don't think I'm using the best one. I have a Graph structure and inside, there's a pointer to a linked list of type Vertex. Each Vertex element has a value, a pointer to the next Vertex and a pointer to a linked list of type Edge. Each Edge element has a value (so I can define weights and whatever it's needed), a pointer to the next Edge and a pointer to the Vertex owner. I have a 2 sample files with data to process (in CSV style) and insert into the Graph. The first one is the user data (one user per line); the second one is the user relations (for the graph). The first file is quickly inserted into the graph cause I always insert at the head and there's like ~18000 users. The second file takes ages but I still insert the edges at the head. The file has about ~520000 lines of user relations and takes between 13-15mins to insert into the Graph. I made a quick test and reading the data is pretty quickly, instantaneously really. The problem is in the insertion. This problem exists because I have a Graph implemented with linked lists for the vertices. Every time I need to insert a relation, I need to lookup for 2 vertices, so I can link them together. This is the problem... Doing this for ~520000 relations, takes a while. How should I solve this? Solution 1) Some people recommended me to implement the Graph (the vertices part) as an array instead of a linked list. This way I have direct access to every vertex and the insertion is probably going to drop considerably. But, I don't like the idea of allocating an array with [18000] elements. How practically is this? My sample data has ~18000, but what if I need much less or much more? The linked list approach has that flexibility, I can have whatever size I want as long as there's memory for it. But the array doesn't, how am I going to handle such situation? What are your suggestions? Using linked lists is good for space complexity but bad for time complexity. And using an array is good for time complexity but bad for space complexity. Any thoughts about this solution? Solution 2) This project also demands that I have some sort of data structures that allows quick lookup based on a name index and an ID index. For this I decided to use Hash Tables. My tables are implemented with separate chaining as collision resolution and when a load factor of 0.70 is reach, I normally recreate the table. I base the next table size on this http://planetmath.org/encyclopedia/GoodHashTablePrimes.html. Currently, both Hash Tables hold a pointer to the UserProfile instead of duplication the user profile itself. That would be stupid, changing data would require 3 changes and it's really dumb to do it that way. So I just save the pointer to the UserProfile. The same user profile pointer is also saved as value in each Graph Vertex. So, I have 3 data structures, one Graph and two Hash Tables and every single one of them point to the same exact UserProfile. The Graph structure will serve the purpose of finding the shortest path and stuff like that while the Hash Tables serve as quick index by name and ID. What I'm thinking to solve my Graph problem is to, instead of having the Hash Tables value point to the UserProfile, I point it to the corresponding Vertex. It's still a pointer, no more and no less space is used, I just change what I point to. Like this, I can easily and quickly lookup for each Vertex I need and link them together. This will insert the ~520000 relations pretty quickly. I thought of this solution because I already have the Hash Tables and I need to have them, then, why not take advantage of them for indexing the Graph vertices instead of the user profile? It's basically the same thing, I can still access the UserProfile pretty quickly, just go to the Vertex and then to the UserProfile. But, do you see any cons on this second solution against the first one? Or only pros that overpower the pros and cons on the first solution? Other Solution) If you have any other solution, I'm all ears. But please explain the pros and cons of that solution over the previous 2. I really don't have much time to be wasting with this right now, I need to move on with this project, so, if I'm doing to do such a change, I need to understand exactly what to change and if that's really the way to go. Hopefully no one fell asleep reading this and closed the browser, sorry for the big testament. But I really need to decide what to do about this and I really need to make a change. P.S: When answering my proposed solutions, please enumerate them as I did so I know exactly what are you talking about and don't confuse my self more than I already am.

  • File private variables in PHP

    Is it possible to define private variables in a PHP script so these variables are only visible in this single PHP script and nowhere else? I want to have an include file which does something without polluting the global namespace. It must work with PHP 5.2 so PHP namespaces are not an option. And no OOP is used here so I'm not searching for private class members. I'm searching for "somewhat-global" variables which are global in the current script but nowhere else. In C I could do it with the static keyword but is there something similar in PHP? Here is a short example of a "common.php" script: $dir = dirname(__FILE__); set_include_path($dir . PATH_SEPARATOR . get_include_path()); // Do more stuff with the $dir variable When I include this file in some script then the $dir variable is visible in all other scripts as well and I don't want that. So how can I prevent this?

    I've recently been porting a Chrome extension to Safari, and encountered this kind of error (bug, feature, etc.) So, in global page i have a XMLHTTP request to a secure page which is available only after you login. Example: I simply login using browser - as usually you do on facebook or other secure pages After that, in global page, I load a login-only-available xmlhttp - and it says i'm not logged in it seems that global page somewhat has it's own cookies, so a secure page thinks i'm new ps: in Chrome i can load that page and it thinks i'm acting on behalf of logged in user, so i guess there are some restrictions in Safari pps: i heard there's a Block third-party cookies option in Safari, but even if i checked it to "Never block" it still doesn't work

  • Intentionally get a "MySQL server has gone away" error

    I'm trying to cope with MySQL's error MySQL server has gone away in a django env. The quick workaround was to set the global wait_timeout MySQL variable to a huge value, but in the long run this would accumulate to many open connections. I figured I'll get the wait_timeout variable and poll the server in smaller intervals. After implementing this I tried to test it but am failing to get the error. I set global wait_timeout=15 and even set global interactive_timeout=15 but the connection refuses to disappear. I'm sure I'm polling the database in larger intervals than 15sec. What could be the cause for not being able to recreate this error?
