    I am in a situation where when I get an HTTP 400 code from the server, it is a completely legal way of the server telling me what was wrong with my request (using a message in the HTTP response content) However, the .NET HttpWebRequest raises an exception when the status code is 400. How do I handle this? For me a 400 is completely legal, and rather helpful. The HTTP content has some important information but the exception throws me off my path.

    I'm trying to determine if this linex webserver/openfire server has been compromised by some form of malware or a hacker. Can you please help me determine if this server has been hacked? The snippet of logs below are from the linux server running apache. A few days ago the moodle site, which is installed on the server, started to render the apache default page.     I have several CA1704:IdentifiersShouldBeSpelledCorrectly warnings that I want to suppress. Basically they refer to the company name which is deemed to be spelled incorrectly. The company name is part of several namespaces in my project, and in order to suppress all the warnings I need to add a lot of suppressions to the GlobalSuppressions file. Is there any way to suppress all warning in a single line in order to aviod my GlobalSuppressions file to become overly cluttered?

  • Creating a user-defined code generation system in PHP

    My newest project that I'm looking to build with CodeIgniter would require some sort of system that would allow a user to drag and drop pre-defined functions/methods into mini-classes/objects and then run/test them in the browser. So it'd something similar to Scratch. I've designed a relational database that I think could work for this (storing the function names and have these classes "subscribe" to those functions) - but I'm wondering whether or not to go ahead with it. Is there a better way to do this or is there a system out there that would accomplish this for me? EDIT: It would have to be extremely simple for an end user, but hopefully be flexible enough to easily add more complex functionality in the future.

    I have written a class that will handle internal logging in my application. Now I want to use this class in another new and totally separate project. I could simply copy the file to the new project folder, but I would like to only have one copy of it to maintain so that all changes in it will apply to both projects over time. I can use the "add existing file", but where do I put the file so that the next developer knows that it is required. I have once had a "shared" folder for this but one time that folder was not brought into the next development computer. What is the best way to organize this so that it makes most sense for new maintainers and minimizes the risk for broken links in projects.

    Although I have marked my ID column with .Identity(), the generated database schema doesn't have IDENTITY set to true, which gives me problems when I'm adding records. If I manually edit the database schema (in SQL Management Studio) to have the Id column marked IDENTITY, everything works as I want it - I just can't make EF do that by itself.     Hi- I'm trying to use an external library DevExpress.XtraTreeList.v8.1.dll in my vsto office addin built using VS2010 beta 2. I am getting the following compile time error: DevExpress.Utils.AppareanceObject threw an exception -- System.NotSupportedException. The error message goes on to say that for compatibility reasons I can use the NetFx40_LegacySecurityPolicy switch. I've tried putting this config variable in all of the following locations: 1) my applications config file. 2) C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.21006\msbuild.exe.config 3) C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\dev.exe.config None of these have resolved the problem.     I'm working on an iPhone app that will use HTTP Live Streaming. Using Apple's provided tools (particularly mediafilesegmenter), I'm able to successfully segment and serve an archived video. Now I want to test Live Streaming stuff. I don't own any sort of camcorder, I just have my iSight built-in to my Mac. Is there a way to leverage this camera to test out Live Streaming? Run iSight from the command line maybe? If so, I need a port number for mediastreamsegmenter.

  • HTTP through a proxy server is not allowed

    When I try to connect to my Tomcat server on http://<servername>:8080 it works fine, but from another ISP provided it gives the following error: HTTP through a proxy server is not allowed. Some ISP apparently don't allow http over the port 8080, as they think the client uses a proxy. I also have a httpd running on port 80 for my website. So in order to avoid the proxy error, I would like to make to following routing: If the user connects to http://<servername>, then the website is served via apache. If the user connects to http://<servername>/AppName, then the port is rerouted to 8080, without the client (or his ISP) knowing. Is that possible (using iptables or something else) ? Thank you

    Hi guys. Thanks in advance for any help received. I want to allow our client to enter a URL into a text field which then checks whether the URL exists and works. There are 3 possible outcomes I want to check for: A status of 200 - OK, A status of 500 - Server Error, Or a status of 404 - page not found. When executing the following code in ASP classic I get a status code of 12007 when I should be getting 404. Is this because it can't find a webserver to return a code of 404?     I've been struggling with this for a few days now, haven't pinpointed the problem. I am trying to get OpenID to work in Rails 2.3 and Rails 3, using ruby-openid rack-openid open_id_authentication I am logging in using my viatropos.myopenid.com account, but it consistently returns this error: Server http://www.myopenid.com/server responds that the 'check_authentication' call is not valid What could that be from, it's not a very descriptive error... Does it have to do with something ruby-specific, or is this entirely on the OpenID protocol side of things? More specifically, I am using Authlogic and ActiveRecord, so could this be a problem with my User or UserSession models somehow? Or is it more to do with the header or request?     I'll start by quoting google's blog Project owners can now create multiple repositories for their project, and they can choose to make any of those new repositories a clone of any of the project's other repositories. These project clones share the same commit access permissions as the original project and make it easier for project members to work together on new features. A common pattern in the Mercurial world is to place each "official" branch into a separate repository with naming conventions like "project-crew", "project-stable", and so on. I've done exactly this. I have my default repository and then I've cloned that repository to a repo named "dev". I intend to use the default repository as my stable repo and then the dev repo as my primary development repo. Now I'm just wondering how on earth I should go about to pull and push between the default and the dev repositories?

    Finite state machine A deterministic finite state machine is a simple computation model, widely used as an introduction to automata theory in basic CS courses. It is a simple model, equivalent to regular expression, which determines of a certain input string is Accepted or Rejected. Leaving some formalities aside, A run of a finite state machine is composed of: alphabet, a set of characters. states, usually visualized as circles. One of the states must be the start state. Some of the states might be accepting, usually visualized as double circles. transitions, usually visualized as directed arches between states, are directed links between states associated with an alphabet letter. input string, a list of alphabet characters. A run on the machine begins at the starting state. Each letter of the input string is read; If there is a transition between the current state and another state which corresponds to the letter, the current state is changed to the new state. After the last letter was read, if the current state is an accepting state, the input string is accepted. If the last state was not an accepting state, or a letter had no corresponding arch from a state during the run, the input string is rejected. Note: This short descruption is far from being a full, formal definition of a FSM; Wikipedia's fine article is a great introduction to the subject. Example For example, the following machine tells if a binary number, read from left to right, has an even number of 0s: The alphabet is the set {0,1}. The states are S1 and S2. The transitions are (S1, 0) -> S2, (S1, 1) -> S1, (S2, 0) -> S1 and (S2, 1) -> S2. The input string is any binary number, including an empty string.   • Good code highlighting, syntax analysis and code assist editor on js.erb and css.erb files

    I want to know if there is a good compatible api that supports erb and javascript highlighting. I've already tried Eclipse with Aptana RadRails. Perhaps I'm configuring something wrong, but it guesses that I'm using html.erb on both css.erb and js.erb files. I've tried too the Emacs with js2-mode, nXhtml and Rinari modes. Again, it works fine for html.erb, but it detects the css.erb and js.erb as html.erb files. Maybe it's possible to configure it to accept that files and be compatible.
