• Chrome back button issue for cross browser login

  I am logging in to the site using Janrain facebook login. On successful authentication from facebook i ll taken to the home page. From the home page i m navigating to other page. From that page when i click chrome browser back button, i am not taken to the home page. Instead i m taken to janrain page. Its working fine in chrome version 20. Problem in other version of chrome. Please help me in fixing this. Thanks.

• How should I capture clickstream data?

  I'd like to start using clickstream analysis to improve a dynamic site's user experience. I'd like to rule out two options: parameterizing URLs (index.php?src=http://www.example.com) and immediate database logging. The former makes pretty ugly URLs and isn't great for SEO and the latter might slow down page render when there are lots of concurrent users. Assuming these aren't viable options, I think I'm left with doing an asynchronous POST to a server side script that runs a database query and returns a 204 (no data) response. Is this the best option for capturing clickstream data?

• Accessing a drive on remote server via app.config

  I am working on a website with a scheduled dataloader exe. The website lives on the web server and the dataloader lives on the DB server. One of the steps in the process is for the dataloader to access the WEB server (to copy/paste a maintenance page file..e.g.\192.168.1.101\c$\maintenance.htm). I am, not surprisingly, running into permissions issues because the dataloader needs to be able to login to the WEB server as an admin to copy the file. Is there a way I can set up logging in (something akin to impersonating a user through an App.config?) Thanks! -KC

  In my specific case: A WCF connection is established, but the only method with "IsInitiating=true" (the login method) is never called. What happens? In case the connection is closed due to inactivity after some time: Which setting configures this timeout? Is there still a way for a client to keep the connection alive? Reason for this question: I'm considering the above case as a possible security hole. Imagine many clients connecting to a server without logging in thus preventing other clients from connecting due to bandwidth problems or port shortage or lack of processing power or ... Am I dreaming, or is this an actual issue?

• How can I change ruby log level in unit tests based on context

  I'm new to ruby so forgive me if this is simple or I get some terminology wrong. I've got a bunch of unit tests (actually they're integration tests for another project, but they use ruby test/unit) and they all include from a module that sets up an instance variable for the log object. When I run the individual tests I'd like log.level to be debug, but when I run a suite I'd like log.level to be error. Is it possible to do this with the approach I'm taking, or does the code need to be restructured? Here's a small example of what I have so far. This works as long as the "originalPath" of "previous.$$route" does not contain any parameters. If it contains parameters the "originalPath" is not transformed. • What is the best way to log errors in Zend Framework in my project at this stage?

  We built an app in Zend Framework and have not worked a lot in setting up error reporting and logging. Is there any way we could get some level or error reporting without too much change in the code? Is there a ErrorHandler plugin available? The basic requirement is to log errors that happens within the controller, missing controllers, malformed URLs, etc. I also want to be able to log errors within my controllers. Will using error controller here, help me identify and log errors within my controllers? How best to do this with minimal changes?

  I have created a VBScript which pulls the service tag, username, and computer name from a computer. What I need to do now is compile this information in a text document. How it's set up is as follows: We have an Active Directory Server, with a folder for login scripts. I have created a batch file to run this .vbs script, and the script works well so far. What I now need is for a file on the AD server, called "logging.txt", to be populated with the information that is created with the .vbs script. • Maven + Tomcat acceleration

  I am writing a web application with Maven in the Eclipse IDE, and use Tomcat servlet container. So, I run Maven like this: mvn clean compile. It is reasonable that after this oepration I must re-run Tomcat so it can reinitialize the context (Sysdeo Tomcat launcher helps a lot). The problem is Maven execution and subsequebt Tomcat re-running takes noticable amount of time (like 10+ seconds for Maven and 20+ sec. for Tomcat, because of logging, Hibernate mappings, etc.) every time I do it. Is there any automated and more faster solution for these two operatioins? As I see it, a way better solution can be moving re-compiled classes only to the target dir.

• Is it possible to log the first line of the response in apache?

  Hey, We have an Tomcat server where we're trying to log the HTTP version which the response is sent with. We've seen a few times that it seems to be HTTP/0.9, which kills the content (not supported I guess?). We would like to get some stats on this by using the access log in apache. However, since the header line for this isn't prefixed by anything, we cannot use the %{xxx}o logging. Is there a way to get this? An example: Response is: HTTP/1.1 503 This application is not currently available Server: Apache-Coyote/1.1 Content-Type: text/html;charset=utf-8 Content-Length: 1090 Date: Wed, 12 May 2010 12:53:16 GMT Connection: close And we'd like the catch HTTP/1.1 (alternatively, HTTP/1.1 503 This application is not currently available. • Imposing email limits on web page

  To avoid spammers, what's a good strategy for imposing limits on users when sending email from our site? A count limit per day on individual IPs? Sender emails? Domains? In general terms, but recommended figures will also be helpful. Our users can send emails through our web page. They can register and log in but are also allowed to do this without logging in, but with a captcha and with a field for the senders email. Certainly, there is a header, "The user has sent you the following message.", limiting the use for spammers, so perhaps it's not a big problem. Any comments on what I'm doing will be greatly appreciated.

This is completely reproducible, only happens in the live environment, and I'd say ~50% of the refreshes work while 50% do not. This only happens in production. Any ideas?

I can change any of the classes involved, just looking for an elegant way to do this. Ideally the hardware functions remain separated from the database and DataLogger functions. And ideally the DataLogger is reusable for other controls and measurements.

My app serves the webpage for these at http://example.com/site/foobar.com/ So, I need to redirect all requests where the hostname is not example.com to /site/[hostname]/ I'm writing this in Django and hosting with Apache. How do I set up a rewrite rule to do this? The user must not know they are on any other site but foobar.com and if the user browses to foobar.com/something - the URL must be rewritten to /site/foobar.com/something

• What's the most auditable way to organize database maintenance scripting/scheduling?

  I'm using PHP, Oracle and crontab. Crontab is invoking a php script, which is going to synchronize some data between a local and remote database. First I thought about putting this all in one large, anonymous inline PL/SQL block and executing it in PHP. The problem is that without creating a table to audit the procedure it's really opaque to my PHP code until it returns. And then when it does return, the best I can do is receive a string in an out parameter which I've concatenated together as an audit log. Then I considered breaking it up into several SQL statements and have PHP do some intermediate auditing/logging and manipulation of the data between each of them. I'm not really satisfied with either of these. How do you organize maintenance code that is called in a cronjob?

• Trace output not getting logged in output file at times.

  I'm using TextWriterTraceListener to log error messages to a text file.The TraceOutputFile has been mentioned in the web.config file as "trace.log.txt". The error messages are getting logged to the trace.log.txt. But at times I notice that some files are getting generated randomly under root folder with the exception details instead of logging to the trace.log.txt. This is not happening in any particular page and hence I am unable to detect the reason as to why these files are getting generated.Ex:14dbc20a-9eb8-4fec-b6bd-54400db2ceatrace.log.txt . Can u suggest me any circumstances when this might happen?

  Hi, I need to find all invocations of some logging macros in the code. The macro invocation is of the form: DEBUG[1-5] ( "methodName: the logged message", arguments) But the new versions of the macros are prepending the name of the method automatically, so my task is to write a Python script that will remove the duplicate function names specified already by the programmer. I'm using the sub function from the re module. I plan to substitute the part indicated by || signs below : ||DEBUG[1-5] ("methodName: || the logged message", arguments) with simply DEBUG[1-5](" The problem is following: To find the expressions I want to substitute, I use the following regular expression: ((DEBUG | INFO | all other macros names )[1-5]*)\s*\(\"\w+: But it doesn't match the whole expression ( from DEBUG right to the colon ), but only the macro name, that is for example DEBUG5. Is my expression wrong or there is some quirk in the Python regex processing? ( maybe the fact that I use the DEBUG[1-5] as a subgroup has something to do with this? ) Help from anyone more knowledgable than me appreciated :).
