  • Flex secret for session using Facebook API

    - by Mike
    In this video, it mentioned not to embed the Facebook secret key inside the application, http://www.adobe.com/devnet/facebook/articles/video_facebook_quick_start.html, so I passed null to this function facebookSession = new FacebookSessionUtil(MYAPI, null, stage.loaderInfo); but it didn't work. How can I hide my secret key? In the doc it mentioned: http://facebook-actionscript-api.googlecode.com/svn/release/current/docs/com/facebook/utils/FacebookSessionUtil.html secret:String — Your application's secret key. If this parameter is passed a value of null, the constructor looks for a special session secret stored in the fb_sig_ss property of the loaderInfo object. For web sessions, even if you pass a non-null value for this parameter, the constructor will always look for a session secret and use that instead of the value that you pass for this parameter.

  • How I can add JScroll bar to NavigableImagePanel which is an Image panel with an small navigation vi

    - by Sarah Kho
    Hi, I have the following NavigableImagePanel, it is under BSD license and I found it in the web. What I want to do with this panel is as follow: I want to add a JScrollPane to it in order to show images in their full size and let the users to re-center the image using the small navigation panel. Right now, the panel resize the images to fit them in the current panel size. I want it to load the image in its real size and let users to navigate to different parts of the image using the navigation panel. Source code for the panel: import java.awt.AWTEvent; import java.awt.BorderLayout; import java.awt.Color; import java.awt.Dimension; import java.awt.Graphics; import java.awt.Graphics2D; import java.awt.GraphicsEnvironment; • Problem hosting WebBrowser control in an ATL app.

    - by Andrew Bucknell
    I have a legacy atl app that hosts a webbrowser control in an ATL window. I create an instance of the client to host the browser using the following sequence CComPtr<IOleObject> spOleObject; HRESULT hr = CoCreateInstance(CLSID_WebBrowser, NULL, CLSCTX_INPROC, ID_IOleObject,(void**)&spOleObject); spOleObject->SetClientSite(this); GetClientRect(&rcClient); hr = spOleObject->DoVerb(OLEIVERB_INPLACEACTIVATE, &msg, this, 0, m_hWnd, &rcClient); hr = AtlAdvise(m_spWebBrowser, GetUnknown(), DIID_DWebBrowserEvents2, &m_dwCookie); CComVariant navvar(navurl); m_spWebBrowser->Navigate2(&navvar, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL); This sequence works fine to create the initial browse window. The call to navigate2 works and if I look at the window via spy++ I have Shell Embedding - Shell DocObject View - Internet Explorer_Server. When a popup occurs (detected through NewWindow3) I launch a new window and execute the same code sequence for the new window. In the popup window the navigate2 doesnt work, and when I look at this new window in spy++ I just have Shell Embedding. I get the same problem even if I instantiate the popup window on startup, so its not related to NewWindow3 at all - it seems the second instance of the web control isnt instantiating even though all the calls return S_OK. This sequence worked fine under IE7 but now I am using IE8 and the popup window isnt working. There is clearly something I am missing but I cant guess what it may be. Any suggestions would be incredibly helpful.

  • Calling notifyDataSetChanged doesn't fire onContentChanged event of SimpleCursorAdapter

    - by Pentium10
    I have this scenario onResume of an activity: @Override protected void onResume() { if (adapter1!=null) adapter1.notifyDataSetChanged(); if (adapter2!=null) adapter2.notifyDataSetChanged(); if (adapter3!=null) adapter3.notifyDataSetChanged(); super.onResume(); } Adapter has been defined as: public class ListCursorAdapter extends SimpleCursorAdapter { Cursor c; /* (non-Javadoc) * @see android.widget.CursorAdapter#onContentChanged() */ @Override protected void onContentChanged() { // this is not called if (c!=null) c.requery(); super.onContentChanged(); } } And the onContentChanged event is not fired, although the onResume and the call to the adapter is issued. What is wrong?

  • Why 32-bit color EGL configurations fail with EGL_BAD_MATCH on Moto Droid?

    - by Gilead
    I'm trying to figure out why certain EGL configurations cause eglMakeCurrent() call to return EGL_BAD_MATCH on Motorola Droid running Android 2.1u1. This is a full list of hardware-accelerated EGL configurations (those with EGL_CONFIG_CAVEAT == EGL_NONE) as there's a few others with EGL_CONFIG_CAVEAT == EGL_SLOW_CONFIG but those are backed by PixelFlinger 1.2 meaning they're using software renderer. ID: 0 RGB: 8, 8, 8 Alpha: 8 Depth: 24 Stencil: 8 // BAD MATCH ID: 1 RGB: 8, 8, 8 Alpha: 8 Depth: 0 Stencil: 0 // BAD MATCH ID: 2 RGB: 8, 8, 8 Alpha: 8 Depth: 24 Stencil: 8 // BAD MATCH ID: 3 RGB: 8, 8, 8 Alpha: 8 Depth: 24 Stencil: 8 // BAD MATCH ID: 4 RGB: 8, 8, 8 Alpha: 8 Depth: 0 Stencil: 0 // BAD MATCH ID: 5 RGB: 8, 8, 8 Alpha: 8 Depth: 24 Stencil: 8 // BAD MATCH ID: 6 RGB: 5, 6, 5 Alpha: 0 Depth: 24 Stencil: 8 ID: 7 RGB: 5, 6, 5 Alpha: 0 Depth: 0 Stencil: 0 ID: 8 RGB: 5, 6, 5 Alpha: 0 Depth: 24 Stencil: 8 Clearly, all configurations with 32-bit color depth fail and all 16-bit ones are OK but: 1. Why? 2. WHY?! :) 3. How do I tell which ones would fail before actually trying to use them? The code below is as simple as it can get. I put if (v[0] == 6) there to check different configs, normally they're chosen by half-clever config matcher :) private void createSurface(SurfaceHolder holder) { egl = (EGL10)EGLContext.getEGL(); eglDisplay = egl.eglGetDisplay(EGL10.EGL_DEFAULT_DISPLAY); egl.eglInitialize(eglDisplay, null); int[] numConfigs = new int[1]; egl.eglChooseConfig(eglDisplay, new int[] { EGL10.EGL_NONE }, null, 0, numConfigs); EGLConfig[] configs = new EGLConfig[numConfigs[0]]; egl.eglChooseConfig(eglDisplay, new int[] { EGL10.EGL_NONE }, configs, numConfigs[0], numConfigs); int[] v = new int[1]; for (EGLConfig c : configs) { egl.eglGetConfigAttrib(eglDisplay, c, EGL10.EGL_CONFIG_ID, v); if (v[0] == 6) { eglConfig = c; } } eglContext = egl.eglCreateContext(eglDisplay, eglConfig, EGL10.EGL_NO_CONTEXT, null); if (eglContext == null || eglContext == EGL10.EGL_NO_CONTEXT) { throw new RuntimeException("Unable to create EGL context"); } eglSurface = egl.eglCreateWindowSurface(eglDisplay, eglConfig, holder, null); if (eglSurface == null || eglSurface == EGL10.EGL_NO_SURFACE) { throw new RuntimeException("Unable to create EGL surface"); } if (!egl.eglMakeCurrent(eglDisplay, eglSurface, eglSurface, eglContext)) { throw new RuntimeException("Unable to make EGL current"); } gl = (GL10)eglContext.getGL(); }

  • get contact info from android contact picker

    - by ng93
    hi im trying to call the contact picker, get the persons name, phone and e-mail into strings and send them to another activity using an intent. So far this works Intent intent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_PICK, ContactsContract.Contacts.CONTENT_URI); startActivityForResult(intent, 1); @Override public void onActivityResult(int reqCode, int resultCode, Intent data) { super.onActivityResult(reqCode, resultCode, data); if (resultCode == Activity.RESULT_OK) { Uri contactData = data.getData(); Cursor c = managedQuery(contactData, null, null, null, null); if (c.moveToFirst()) { String name = c.getString(c.getColumnIndexOrThrow(ContactsContract.Contacts.DISPLAY_NAME)); Intent intent = new Intent(CurrentActivity.this, NewActivity.class); intent.putExtra("name", name); startActivityForResult(intent, 0); } } } but if i add in: String number = c.getString(c.getColumnIndexOrThrow(ContactsContract.CommonDataKinds.Phone.NUMBER)); it force closes maybe theres another way to get their number? thanks for help, ng93

  • How to get BinarySecurityToken into the wcf soap request

    I need to sign my soap request to a 3rd party. The provided an example what the call should look like. And I am trying, rather unsuccessfully to make this call with wcf. • C# serial port driver wrapper class code and concept quality

    - by Ruben Trancoso
    Hi folks, Would like to know from all you guys what you think about my Serial Wrapper class. Had be a while I've beem working with serial port but never shared the code what somekind make closed to my very own vision. Would like to know if it's a good/bad approach, if the interface is enough and what more you see on it. • Fill spinner from cursor in android

    - by Rickard
    Hi, i have searched for a awnser for this for a while today. It all looks so easy but i never get it to work. I want to fill a spinner with my cursor. I have been trying to use SimpleCursorAdapter for this as a lot of sites say i shall but i never get it to work. Show me just how easy it is :) Thanks for your time! My cursor Cursor cursor = db.query(DATABASE_TABLE_Clients, new String[] {"_id", "C_Name"}, null, null, null, null, "C_Name"); My spinner (Spinner) findViewById(R.id.spnClients); My Code Cursor cursor_Names = SQLData.getClientNames(); startManagingCursor(cursor_Names); String[] columns = new String[] { "C_Name" }; int[] to = new int[] { R.id.txt_Address }; SimpleCursorAdapter mAdapter = new SimpleCursorAdapter(this, android.R.layout.simple_spinner_dropdown_item, cursor_Names, columns, to); Spinner spnClients = (Spinner) findViewById(R.id.spnClients); spnClients.setAdapter(mAdapter);

  • Tutorial: Simple WCF XML-RPC client

    - by mr.b
    Update: I have provided complete code example in answer below. I have built my own little custom XML-RPC server, and since I'd like to keep things simple, on both server and client side, what I would like to accomplish is to create a simplest possible client (in C# preferably) using WCF. Let's say that Contract for service exposed via XML-RPC is as follows: [ServiceContract] public interface IContract { [OperationContract(Action="Ping")] string Ping(); // server returns back string "Pong" [OperationContract(Action="Echo")] string Echo(string message); // server echoes back whatever message is } So, there are two example methods, one without any arguments, and another with simple string argument, both returning strings (just for sake of example). Service is exposed via http. Aaand, what's next? :)

  • Creating a Dynamic DataRow for easier DataRow Syntax

    - by Rick Strahl
    I've been thrown back into an older project that uses DataSets and DataRows as their entity storage model. I have several applications internally that I still maintain that run just fine (and I sometimes wonder if this wasn't easier than all this ORM crap we deal with with 'newer' improved technology today - but I disgress) but use this older code. For the most part DataSets/DataTables/DataRows are abstracted away in a pseudo entity model, but in some situations like queries DataTables and DataRows are still surfaced to the business layer. Here's an example. Here's a business object method that runs dynamic query and the code ends up looping over the result set using the ugly DataRow Array syntax:public int UpdateAllSafeTitles() { int result = this.Execute("select pk, title, safetitle from " + Tablename + " where EntryType=1", "TPks"); if (result < 0) return result; result = 0; foreach (DataRow row in this.DataSet.Tables["TPks"].Rows) { string title = row["title"] as string; string safeTitle = row["safeTitle"] as string; int pk = (int)row["pk"]; string newSafeTitle = this.GetSafeTitle(title); if (newSafeTitle != safeTitle) { this.ExecuteNonQuery("update " + this.Tablename + " set safeTitle=@safeTitle where pk=@pk", this.CreateParameter("@safeTitle",newSafeTitle), this.CreateParameter("@pk",pk) ); result++; } } return result; } The problem with looping over DataRow objecs is two fold: The array syntax is tedious to type and not real clear to look at, and explicit casting is required in order to do anything useful with the values. I've highlighted the place where this matters. Using the DynamicDataRow class I'll show in a minute this code can be changed to look like this:public int UpdateAllSafeTitles() { int result = this.Execute("select pk, title, safetitle from " + Tablename + " where EntryType=1", "TPks"); if (result < 0) return result; result = 0; foreach (DataRow row in this.DataSet.Tables["TPks"].Rows) { dynamic entry = new DynamicDataRow(row); string newSafeTitle = this.GetSafeTitle(entry.title); if (newSafeTitle != entry.safeTitle) { this.ExecuteNonQuery("update " + this.Tablename + " set safeTitle=@safeTitle where pk=@pk", this.CreateParameter("@safeTitle",newSafeTitle), this.CreateParameter("@pk",entry.pk) ); result++; } } return result; } The code looks much a bit more natural and describes what's happening a little nicer as well. Well, using the new dynamic features in .NET it's actually quite easy to implement the DynamicDataRow class. Creating your own custom Dynamic Objects .NET 4.0 introduced the Dynamic Language Runtime (DLR) and opened up a whole bunch of new capabilities for .NET applications. The dynamic type is an easy way to avoid Reflection and directly access members of 'dynamic' or 'late bound' objects at runtime. There's a lot of very subtle but extremely useful stuff that dynamic does (especially for COM Interop scenearios) but in its simplest form it often allows you to do away with manual Reflection at runtime. In addition you can create DynamicObject implementations that can perform  custom interception of member accesses and so allow you to provide more natural access to more complex or awkward data structures like the DataRow that I use as an example here. Bascially you can subclass DynamicObject and then implement a few methods (TryGetMember, TrySetMember, TryInvokeMember) to provide the ability to return dynamic results from just about any data structure using simple property/method access. In the code above, I created a custom DynamicDataRow class which inherits from DynamicObject and implements only TryGetMember and TrySetMember. Here's what simple class looks like:/// <summary> /// This class provides an easy way to turn a DataRow /// into a Dynamic object that supports direct property /// access to the DataRow fields. /// /// The class also automatically fixes up DbNull values /// (null into .NET and DbNUll to DataRow) /// </summary> public class DynamicDataRow : DynamicObject { /// <summary> /// Instance of object passed in /// </summary> DataRow DataRow; /// <summary> /// Pass in a DataRow to work off /// </summary> /// <param name="instance"></param> public DynamicDataRow(DataRow dataRow) { DataRow = dataRow; } /// <summary> /// Returns a value from a DataRow items array. /// If the field doesn't exist null is returned. /// DbNull values are turned into .NET nulls. /// /// </summary> /// <param name="binder"></param> /// <param name="result"></param> /// <returns></returns> public override bool TryGetMember(GetMemberBinder binder, out object result) { result = null; try { result = DataRow[binder.Name]; if (result == DBNull.Value) result = null; return true; } catch { } result = null; return false; } /// <summary> /// Property setter implementation tries to retrieve value from instance /// first then into this object /// </summary> /// <param name="binder"></param> /// <param name="value"></param> /// <returns></returns> public override bool TrySetMember(SetMemberBinder binder, object value) { try { if (value == null) value = DBNull.Value; DataRow[binder.Name] = value; return true; } catch {} return false; } } To demonstrate the basic features here's a short test: [TestMethod] [ExpectedException(typeof(RuntimeBinderException))] public void BasicDataRowTests() { DataTable table = new DataTable("table"); table.Columns.Add( new DataColumn() { ColumnName = "Name", DataType=typeof(string) }); table.Columns.Add( new DataColumn() { ColumnName = "Entered", DataType=typeof(DateTime) }); table.Columns.Add(new DataColumn() { ColumnName = "NullValue", DataType = typeof(string) }); DataRow row = table.NewRow(); DateTime now = DateTime.Now; row["Name"] = "Rick"; row["Entered"] = now; row["NullValue"] = null; // converted in DbNull dynamic drow = new DynamicDataRow(row); string name = drow.Name; DateTime entered = drow.Entered; string nulled = drow.NullValue; Assert.AreEqual(name, "Rick"); Assert.AreEqual(entered,now); Assert.IsNull(nulled); // this should throw a RuntimeBinderException Assert.AreEqual(entered,drow.enteredd); } The DynamicDataRow requires a custom constructor that accepts a single parameter that sets the DataRow. Once that's done you can access property values that match the field names. Note that types are automatically converted - no type casting is needed in the code you write. The class also automatically converts DbNulls to regular nulls and vice versa which is something that makes it much easier to deal with data returned from a database. What's cool here isn't so much the functionality - even if I'd prefer to leave DataRow behind ASAP -  but the fact that we can create a dynamic type that uses a DataRow as it's 'DataSource' to serve member values. It's pretty useful feature if you think about it, especially given how little code it takes to implement. By implementing these two simple methods we get to provide two features I was complaining about at the beginning that are missing from the DataRow: Direct Property Syntax Automatic Type Casting so no explicit casts are required Caveats As cool and easy as this functionality is, it's important to understand that it doesn't come for free. The dynamic features in .NET are - well - dynamic. Which means they are essentially evaluated at runtime (late bound). Rather than static typing where everything is compiled and linked by the compiler/linker, member invokations are looked up at runtime and essentially call into your custom code. There's some overhead in this. Direct invocations - the original code I showed - is going to be faster than the equivalent dynamic code. However, in the above code the difference of running the dynamic code and the original data access code was very minor. The loop running over 1500 result records took on average 13ms with the original code and 14ms with the dynamic code. Not exactly a serious performance bottleneck. One thing to remember is that Microsoft optimized the DLR code significantly so that repeated calls to the same operations are routed very efficiently which actually makes for very fast evaluation. The bottom line for performance with dynamic code is: Make sure you test and profile your code if you think that there might be a performance issue. However, in my experience with dynamic types so far performance is pretty good for repeated operations (ie. in loops). While usually a little slower the perf hit is a lot less typically than equivalent Reflection work. Although the code in the second example looks like standard object syntax, dynamic is not static code. It's evaluated at runtime and so there's no type recognition until runtime. This means no Intellisense at development time, and any invalid references that call into 'properties' (ie. fields in the DataRow) that don't exist still cause runtime errors. So in the case of the data row you still get a runtime error if you mistype a column name:// this should throw a RuntimeBinderException Assert.AreEqual(entered,drow.enteredd); Dynamic - Lots of uses The arrival of Dynamic types in .NET has been met with mixed emotions. Die hard .NET developers decry dynamic types as an abomination to the language. After all what dynamic accomplishes goes against all that a static language is supposed to provide. On the other hand there are clearly scenarios when dynamic can make life much easier (COM Interop being one place). Think of the possibilities. What other data structures would you like to expose to a simple property interface rather than some sort of collection or dictionary? And beyond what I showed here you can also implement 'Method missing' behavior on objects with InvokeMember which essentially allows you to create dynamic methods. It's all very flexible and maybe just as important: It's easy to do. There's a lot of power hidden in this seemingly simple interface. • Linq 2 SQL One to Zero or One relationship possible?

    - by Mr. Flibble
    Is it possible to create a one to zero or one relationship in Linq2SQL? My understanding is that to create a one to one relationship you create a FK relationship on the PK of each table. But you cannot make the PK nullable, so I don't see how to make a one to zero or one relationship work? I'm using the designer to automatically create the model - so I would like to know how to set up the SQL tables to induce the relationship - not some custom ORM code.

I'm tying to implement the Repository and Unit of work pattern, using Asp.Net MVC 2 and Entity Framework 4. Please let me know if I'm doing it right... In the Models folder: Northwind.edmx Products.cs (POCO class) ProductRepository.cs (Did my product query) IProductRepository.cs NorthwindContext.cs IUnitOfWork.cs In the Controller folder: ProductController.cs (Retrieve from ProductRepository.cs and Pass it to the view) When I run the application, I'm getting error message: Mapping and metadata information could not be found for EntityType 'NorthwindMvcPoco.Models.Category'. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I search through whole web and I couldn't resolve this issue. Please help me.

  • Android: ViewHolder pattern and different types of rows?

    - by tomash
    ViewHolder pattern improves ListView scrolling framerate, as seen in following example: http://developer.android.com/intl/de/resources/samples/ApiDemos/src/com/example/android/apis/view/List14.html Is it possible to keep this pattern while using different kind of Views for different rows? In other words, is it possible to do something like: public View getView(int position, View view, ViewGroup parent) { // calculate viewID here if (view == null || *view is not null but was created from different XML than viewID* ) { view = mInflater.inflate(viewId, null);

  • Issues with HLSL and lighting

    - by numerical25
    I am trying figure out whats going on with my HLSL code but I have no way of debugging it cause C++ gives off no errors. The application just closes when I run it. I am trying to add lighting to a 3d plane I made. below is my HLSL. The problem consist when my Pixel shader method returns the struct "outColor" . • Encrypting using RSA via COM Interop = "The requested operation requires delegation to be enabled on

    - by Mr AH
    Hi Guys, So i've got this little static method in a .Net class which takes a string, uses some stored public key and returns the encrypted version of that key. This is basically so some user entered data can be saved an encrypted, then retrieved and decrypted at a later date. Pretty basic stuff and the unit test works fine. However, part of the application is in classic ASP. This then uses some COM visible version of the class to go off and invoke the method on the real class and return the same string to the COM client (classic ASP). I use this kind of stuff all the time, but in this case we have a major problem. As the method is doing something with RSA keys and has to access certain machine information to do so, we get the error: "The requested operation requires delegation to be enabled on the machine. I've searched around a lot, but can't really understand what this means. I assume I am getting this error on the COM but not the UT because the UT runs as me (Administrator) and classic ASP as IWAM. Anyone know what I need to do to enable IWAM to do this? Or indeed if this is the real problem here?

  • How to send audio stream via UDP in java?

    - by Nob Venoda
    Hi to all :) I have a problem, i have set MediaLocator to microphone input, and then created Player. I need to grab that sound from the microphone, encode it to some lower quality stream, and send it as a datagram packet via UDP. Here's the code, i found most of it online and adapted it to my app: public class AudioSender extends Thread { private MediaLocator ml = new MediaLocator("javasound://44100"); private DatagramSocket socket; private boolean transmitting; private Player player; TargetDataLine mic; byte[] buffer; private AudioFormat format; private DatagramSocket datagramSocket(){ try { return new DatagramSocket(); } catch (SocketException ex) { return null; } } private void startMic() { try { format = new AudioFormat(AudioFormat.Encoding.PCM_SIGNED, 8000.0F, 16, 2, 4, 8000.0F, true); DataLine.Info info = new DataLine.Info(TargetDataLine.class, format); mic = (TargetDataLine) AudioSystem.getLine(info); mic.open(format); mic.start(); buffer = new byte[1024]; } catch (LineUnavailableException ex) { Logger.getLogger(AudioSender.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } } private Player createPlayer() { try { return Manager.createRealizedPlayer(ml); } catch (IOException ex) { return null; } catch (NoPlayerException ex) { return null; } catch (CannotRealizeException ex) { return null; } } private void send() { try { mic.read(buffer, 0, 1024); DatagramPacket packet = new DatagramPacket( buffer, buffer.length, InetAddress.getByName(Util.getRemoteIP()), 91); socket.send(packet); } catch (IOException ex) { Logger.getLogger(AudioSender.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } } @Override public void run() { player = createPlayer(); player.start(); socket = datagramSocket(); transmitting = true; startMic(); while (transmitting) { send(); } } public static void main(String[] args) { AudioSender as = new AudioSender(); as.start(); } } And only thing that happens when I run the receiver class, is me hearing this Player from the sender class. And I cant seem to see the connection between TargetDataLine and Player. Basically, I need to get the sound form player, and somehow convert it to bytes[], therefore I can sent it as datagram. Any ideas? Everything is acceptable, as long as it works :)

  • append set to another set

    - by mr.bio
    Hi Is there a better way of appending a set to another set than iterating through each element ? i have : set<string> foo ; set<string> bar ; ..... for (set<string>::const_iterator p = foo.begin( );p != foo.end( ); ++p) bar.insert(*p); Is there a more efficient way to do this ?

  • nhibernate configure and buildsessionfactory time

    - by davidsleeps
    Hi, I'm using Nhibernate as the OR/M tool for an asp.net application and the startup performance is really frustrating. Part of the problem is definitely me in my lack of understanding but I've tried a fair bit (understanding is definitely improving) and am still getting nowhere. Currently ANTS profiler has that the Configure() takes 13-18 seconds and the BuildSessionFActory() as taking about 5 seconds. From what i've read, these times might actually be pretty good, but they were generally talking about hundreds upon hundreds of mapped entities...this project only has 10. I've combined all the mapping files into a single hbm mapping file and this did improve things but only down to the times mentioned above... I guess, are there any "Traps for young players" that are regularly missed...obvious "I did this/have you enabled that/exclude file x/mark file y as z" etc... I'll try the serialize the configuration thing to avoid the Configure() stage, but I feel that part shouldn't be that long for that amount of entities and so would essentially be hiding a current problem... I will post source code or configuration if necessary, but I'm not sure what to put in really... thanks heaps! edit (more info) I'll also add that once this is completed, each page is extremely quick... configuration code- hibernate.cfg.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <configuration> <configSections> <section name="hibernate-configuration" type="NHibernate.Cfg.ConfigurationSectionHandler, NHibernate" /> </configSections> <hibernate-configuration xmlns="urn:nhibernate-configuration-2.2"> <session-factory> <property name="dialect">NHibernate.Dialect.MsSql2005Dialect</property> <property name="connection.provider">NHibernate.Connection.DriverConnectionProvider</property> <property name="connection.driver_class">NHibernate.Driver.SqlClientDriver</property> <property name="connection.connection_string_name">MyAppDEV</property> <property name="cache.provider_class">NHibernate.Caches.SysCache.SysCacheProvider, NHibernate.Caches.SysCache</property> <property name="cache.use_second_level_cache">true</property> <property name="show_sql">false</property> <property name="proxyfactory.factory_class">NHibernate.ByteCode.Castle.ProxyFactoryFactory, NHibernate.ByteCode.Castle</property> <property name="current_session_context_class">managed_web</property> <mapping assembly="MyApp.Domain"/> </session-factory> </hibernate-configuration> </configuration> My SessionManager class which is bound and unbound in a HttpModule for each request Imports NHibernate Imports NHibernate.Cfg Public Class SessionManager Private ReadOnly _sessionFactory As ISessionFactory Public Shared ReadOnly Property SessionFactory() As ISessionFactory Get Return Instance._sessionFactory End Get End Property Private Function GetSessionFactory() As ISessionFactory Return _sessionFactory End Function Public Shared ReadOnly Property Instance() As SessionManager Get Return NestedSessionManager.theSessionManager End Get End Property Public Shared Function OpenSession() As ISession Return Instance.GetSessionFactory().OpenSession() End Function Public Shared ReadOnly Property CurrentSession() As ISession Get Return Instance.GetSessionFactory().GetCurrentSession() End Get End Property Private Sub New() Dim configuration As Configuration = New Configuration().Configure() _sessionFactory = configuration.BuildSessionFactory() End Sub Private Class NestedSessionManager Friend Shared ReadOnly theSessionManager As New SessionManager() End Class End Class edit 2 (log4net results) will post bits that have a portion of time between them and will cut out the rest... 2010-03-30 23:29:40,898 [4] INFO NHibernate.Cfg.Environment [(null)] - Using reflection optimizer 2010-03-30 23:29:42,481 [4] DEBUG NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration [(null)] - dialect=NHibernate.Dialect.MsSql2005Dialect ... 2010-03-30 23:29:42,501 [4] INFO NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration [(null)] - Mapping resource: MyApp.Domain.Mappings.hbm.xml 2010-03-30 23:29:43,342 [4] INFO NHibernate.Dialect.Dialect [(null)] - Using dialect: NHibernate.Dialect.MsSql2005Dialect 2010-03-30 23:29:50,462 [4] INFO NHibernate.Cfg.XmlHbmBinding.Binder [(null)] - Mapping class: ... 2010-03-30 23:29:51,353 [4] DEBUG NHibernate.Connection.DriverConnectionProvider [(null)] - Obtaining IDbConnection from Driver 2010-03-30 23:29:53,136 [4] DEBUG NHibernate.Connection.ConnectionProvider [(null)] - Closing connection

  • nHibernate, Automapping and Chained Abstract Classes

    - by Mr Snuffle
    I'm having some trouble using nHibernate, automapping and a class structure using multiple chains of abstract classes It's something akin to this public abstract class AbstractClassA {} public abstract class AbstractClassB : AbstractClassA {} public class ClassA : AbstractClassB {} When I attempt to build these mappings, I receive the following error "FluentNHibernate.Cfg.FluentConfigurationException was unhandled Message: An invalid or incomplete configuration was used while creating a SessionFactory. Check PotentialReasons collection, and InnerException for more detail. Database was not configured through Database method." However, if I remove the abstract keyword from AbstractClassB, everything works fine. The problem only occurs when I have more than one abstract class in the class hierarchy. I've manually configured the automapping to include both AbstractClassA and AbstractClassB using the following binding class public class BindItemBases : IManualBinding { public void Bind(FluentNHibernate.Automapping.AutoPersistenceModel model) { model.IncludeBase<AbstractClassA>(); model.IncludeBase<AbstractClassB>(); } } I've had to do a bit of hackery to get around this, but there must be a better way to get this working. Surely nHibernate supports something like this, I just haven't figured out how to configure it right. Cheers, James

  • How to add a default value to a custom ASP.NET Profile property

    - by mr.moses
    I know you can add defaultValues using the web.config like this: <profile> <properties> <add name="AreCool" type="System.Boolean" defaultValue="False" /> </properties> </profile> but I have the Profile inherited from a class: <profile inherits="CustomProfile" defaultProvider="CustomProfileProvider" enabled="true"> <providers> <clear /> <add name="CustomProfileProvider" type="CustomProfileProvider" /> </providers> </profile> Heres the class: Public Class CustomProfile Inherits ProfileBase Public Property AreCool() As Boolean Get Return Me.GetPropertyValue("AreCool") End Get Set(ByVal value As Boolean) Me.SetPropertyValue("AreCool", value) End Set End Property End Class I don't know how to set the default value of the property. Its causing errors because without a default value, it uses an empty string, which cannot be converted to a Boolean. I tried adding <DefaultSettingValue("False")> _ but that didn't seem to make a difference. I'm also using a custom ProfileProvider (CustomProfileProvider).

  • MSBuild 2010 - how to publish web app to a specific location (nant)?

    - by Mr. Flibble
    I'm trying to get MSBuild 2010 to publish a web app to a specific location. I can get it to publish the deployment package to a particular path, but the deployment package then adds it's own path that changes. For example: if I tell it to publish to C:\dev\build\Output\Debug then the actual web files end up at C:\dev\build\Output\Debug\Archive\Content\C_C\code\sawadee\frontend\IPP-FrontEnd\Source\ControllersViews\obj\Debug\Package\PackageTmp And the C_C part of the path changes (not sure how it chooses this part of the path). This means I can't just script a copy from the publish location. I'm using this nant/msbuild command at the moment: <target name="compile" description="Compiles"> <msbuild project="${name}.sln"> <property name="Platform" value="Any CPU"/> <property name="Configuration" value="Debug"/> <property name="DeployOnBuild" value="true"/> <property name="DeployTarget" value="Package"/> <property name="PackageLocation" value="C:\dev\build\Output\Debug\"/> <property name="AutoParameterizationWebConfigConnectionStrings" value="false"/> <property name="PackageAsSingleFile" value="false"/> </msbuild> Any ideas on how to get it to send the web files directly to a specific location?

  • How to find working directory which works between different computers. - C

    - by Jamie Keeling
    Hello, I am running two processes,Process A is opened by Process B using the following example: createProcessHandle = CreateProcess( TEXT("C:\\Users\Jamie\\Documents\\Application\\Debug\\ProcessA.exe"), TEXT(""), NULL, NULL, FALSE, 0, NULL, NULL, &startupinfo, &process_information ); As you can see the Process is reliant on the path given to it, the problem I have is that if I change the location of my ProcessA.exe (Such as a backup/duplicate) it's a tiresome process to keep recoding the path. I want to be able to make it run no matter where it is without having to recode the path manually. Can anybody suggest a solution to this?
