• How do I correlate build configurations in dependant vcproj files with different names?

  I have a solution file that requires a third party library (open source). The containing solution uses the typical configuration names of "Debug" and "release". The 3rd party one has debug and release configs for both DLL and static libs - their names are not "Debug" and "Release". How do I tell the solution to build the dependency first and how do I correlate which config to the dependant config? i.e. MyProject:Debug should build either 3rdParty:debug_shared or 3rdParty:debug_static

• How do I troubleshoot an IPsec tunnel (from a cellular router to a public server)?

  I'm new to IPsec and struggling with a setup that might soon be widely used in our operations (provided I do understand it, eventually...). A cellular router (blackbox by netModule, from its log messages it seems to be running Linux and OpenSwan) connects a sensor network on customers' sites with our public server. We need to be able to connect into the local network, so I had the cell provider give me a public IP (a dynamic one). The way their setup works, the public IPs only allow IPsec traffic. I set up OpenSwan on our Ubuntu server (running Jaunty). This is my connection config from /etc/ipsec.conf: conn gprs-field-devices left=my.pub.lic.ip [email protected] #leftsubnet=192.168.1.129/25 right=%any [email protected] #rightsubnet=192.168.1.1/25 #rightnexthop=%defaultroute auto=add On the router, all I have is the Web UI, in which I made the following settings: "Remote endpoint": public IP of server, same as "left" above "Local Network Address": 192.168.1.1 "Local Network Mask": 255.255.255.128 "Remote Network Address": 192.168.1.129 "Remote Network Mask": 255.255.255.128 The pluto process on the server is listening for connections on port 500. It can't open a tunnel, obviously, because it doesn't know at which IP the client is. I set up a passphrase as PSK for @field.econemon.com in /etc/ipsec.secrets and also configured it in the router (which doesn't seem to support certificates). My problem is, nothing happens. The router just says, IPsec is "down". When I copy-paste the IP into ipsec.conf (for "right="), and ask the server to ipsec auto --up gprs-field-devices, it just hangs until I press Ctrl-C. Is there anything wrong with my setup? How can I debug this further? Did someone already have this problem and how solve it ? I try to give the domain admin role to my IIS user (impersonate) but dont work

• jQuery Autocomplete plug-in search configuration

  I'm looking into using jQuery autocomplete plug-in to implement user lookup by first or last name. It looks like by default autocomplete looks up words by character sequence no matter its occurrence in a word. So if you have data such as: javascript, asp, haskell and you type in 'as' you will get all three. I would like it to at least match beginning of the word. So in above example you get only 'asp'. Is there a way to configure jQuery Autocomplete plug-in to do this? Ultimately it would be even better to match by beginning of first or last name like it is in Gmail.

  Hi, I am trying to setup James mail server on a linux machine. The linux machine has public static ip address assigned. I installed James and added in the config.xml added the servername as mydomain.com. In the DNS for mydomain.com, I have created a A-record, say mx.mydomain.com, which corresponds to the ipaddress of the above mail server machine. Then added mx.mydomain.com as MX record for mydomain.com. In James, I have created a new user test. Then from gmail, I sent a mail to [email protected]. The mail is not received back and it didn't even bounce back. The linux machine is behind a firewall with only 22, 80, 8080 ports open for external network. My question here is, Do I require do open any other ports on the firewall so that the mail I send from gmail arrives to James? If it's not the port problem, any views on solving this issue? I don't want to send mails from this server. It's only for receiving the mails.

• Export Websphere 6.1 Profile with datasource configuration

  Hello, I'm trying to export a profile from WAS 6.1 so that I can give it to other members of my team with all of the JNDI and Shared Library configurations in place. I've flowed a few IBM tutorials on this like http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21322309 (technically that is more a bug fix, but there is a similar page). I've tried to export the server using the "import" feature of the server in RAD 7. None of these options create a .car file with the resources sticking around. Does anyone know how to do this?   So we're writing a full-text search framework MongoDb. MongoDB is pretty much javascript-native, so we wrote the javascript library first, and it works. Now I'm trying to write a python framework for it, which will be partially in python, but partially use those same stored javascript functions - the javascript functions are an intrinsic part of the library. On the other hand, the javascript framework does not depend on python. since they are pretty intertwined it seems like it's worthwhile keeping them in the same repository. I'm trying to work out a way of structuring the whole project to give the javascript and python frameworks equal status (maybe a ruby driver or whatever in the future?), but still allow the python library to install nicely. Currently it looks like this: (simplified a little) javascript/jstest/test1.js javascript/mongo-fulltext/search.js javascript/mongo-fulltext/util.js python/docs/indext.rst python/tests/search_test.py python/tests/__init__.py python/mongofulltextsearch/__init__.py python/mongofulltextsearch/mongo_search.py python/mongofulltextsearch/util.py python/setup.py I've skipped out a few files for simplicity, but you get the general idea; it' a pretty much standard python project... except that it depends critcally ona whole bunch of javascript which is stored in a sibling directory tree. What's the preferred setup for dealing with this kind of thing when it comes to setuptools? I can work out how to use package_data etc to install data files that live inside my python project as per the setuptools docs. The problem is if i want to use setuptools to install stuff, including the javascript files from outside the python code tree, and then also access them in a consistent way when I'm developing the python code and when it is easy_installed to someone's site. Is that supported behaviour for setuptools? Should i be using paver or distutils2 or Distribute or something? (basic distutils is not an option; the whole reason I'm doing this is to enable requirements tracking) How should i be reading the contents of those files into python scripts?

My next step is to install Server2008 on a test machine and try IIS7... as all the various walkthrough's I have found just dont seem to work in IIS6.

• Identifier for win64 configuration in Qmake

  Is there a "win64" identifier in Qmake project files? Qt Qmake advanced documentation does not mention other than unix / macx / win32. So far I've tried using: win32:message("using win32") win64:message("using win64") amd64:message("using amd64") The result is always "using win32". Must I use a separate project-file for x32 and x64 projects, so they would compile against correct libraries? Is there any other way to identify between 32-bit and 64-bit environments?

  Hi, I've always used Spring's dependency injection to get datasource objects and use them in my DAOs, but now, I have to write an app without that. • C# WCF client configuration for X509 secured web service over https

  Hi guys I been pulling my hair out for the past few days trying to connect to a web service using .Net 3.5 and WCF (have also tried using WSE 3.0) without much luck. The web service is hosted by a 3rd party and we can access via https. They also make use of X509 certificates for security, to sign the message. I've been given some basic info and am able to connect and test the service using SOAP UI 3.5 without any problems, so we know that this is not the issue. Just trying to get it done in code! I've added the X509 certificate into the certificate store using the mmc snap-in, and using tracing and logging i can see that the message is being signed, just unable to see which part i have got wrong. Any healp GREATLY appreciated :) I've been given an offline WSDL file, which I have imported in as a service reference is VS 2008.
