• Multiple View application and Navigation Bar

  Hi. I'm working in a iphone view-based application. The application works this way: First view is a welcome view with buttons for load other views. Second view is a map that shows the location using gps. Third view is a search engine that loads some information to show on the map and on a list (This has two button to load map or table). Fourth view is a table view that shows the results and then loads the detail on another view and load a web site on another view. My problem is with this view, because i don't know how can implement a navigation bar in this view that loads the detail and the web view. Thanks for your help. Byron H.

  Assume the following C variable decleration int *A[10] , B[10][10]; Of the following expressions A[2] A[2][3] B[1] B[2][3] which will not give compile time errors if used as left hand sides of assignment statements in a C program. A) 1,2 and 4 only B) 2,3, and 4 only C) 2 and 4 only D) 4 only I have tried this on a gcc compiler.I assigned the value '0' to all the above variables.Only the third one showed an error.I can't really understand the reason.Can someone please expalin why that is.?   I have two dictionaries with the same structure: Dictionary<string, int> foo = new Dictionary<string, int>() { {"Table", 5 }, {"Chair", 3 }, {"Couch", 1 } }; Dictionary<string, int> bar = new Dictionary<string, int>() { {"Table", 4 }, {"Chair", 7 }, {"Couch", 8 } }; I'd like to sum the values of the dictionaries together and return a third dictionaries with the keys, and the total values for each key: Table, 9 Chair, 10 Couch, 9 My current solution is to loop through the dictionary and pull them out that way, but I know that solution isn't the most performant or most readable. However, I'm hitting a brick wall trying to come up with a solution in LINQ.

  Hello. I'm developing an iPhone application and I'm trying to do this: I want an application with tree views. The view shown first, doesn't have a navigation bar. If the user tap on a button, I need to open the second view with a navigation bar and a table view. The user can also add new items to the table view. If the user do so, the application will show the third view where the user can add fields (this view has also a navigation bar). It may seem simple, but for me it is not. I don't know how to use the UINavigationController and have not found yet a similar example for what I do (paragraph translated by google). UPDATE I don't know how where to put UINavigationController. How can I do that? Can I use a UIViewController to call a UINavigationController? Thank you.

• SQL Server Reporting Services Bar Chart

  I am trying to create horizontal bar chart to look like a pill chart. I would like to take a either a stacked bar chart or a 100% stacked bar chart and put rounded ends onto this chart. I would only be using 1 row within the chart. One idea I had was just putting rounded images on either end of the chart to accomplish this but I'm not sure that this will give the smooth feel of a single pill. Does anyone have a good suggestion? I am not tied to the idea of using a chart object. But I would prefer to stay away from third party components that need to be purchased.

I think I understand, because of "reference transfer".   So Ive got a pretty big array of data and need to sort them by two criteria. There is variable $data['important'] and $data['basic']. They are simple numbers and I am using uasort to sort $data firstly by important and then by basic. So Important | Basic 10 | 8 9 | 9 9 | 7 7 | 9 The usort function is a simple public function sort_by_important($a, $b) { if ($a[important] > $b[important]) { return -1; } elseif ($b[important] > $a[important]) { return 1; } else { return 0; } } How can I re-sort the array to the second variable and keep the Important ordering? • Can I configure Eclipse / JBoss integration so it does not rely on deploying Jars to the "server/def

  I am using MyEclipse 7.5 with JBoss 4.2.3 GA. When I define my local development JBoss server in MyEclipse it always wants to deploy jars, wars etc. to the "server/default/deploy" directory. Unfortunately our JBoss directory structure for production is "server/XYZ/deploy/abc" (driven by a third party). As a result our Dev JBoss instances are different from our QA/Staging/Production JBoss instances. Is there a way to configure Eclipse to use JBoss but deploy to that specific folder path "server/XYZ/deploy/abc" rather than the default one "server/default/deploy"?

  I have tried to write an Android application with an activity that should be launched from a different application. It is not a content provider, just an app with a gui that should not be listed among the installed applications. I have tried the code examples here and it seems to be quite easy to launch existing providers and so on, but I fail to figure out how to just write a "hidden" app and launch it from a different one. The basic use case is: App A is a normal apk launchable from the application list. App B is a different apk with known package and activity names, but is is not visible or launchable from the application list. App A launches app B using the package and class names (or perhaps a URI constructed from these?). I fail in the third step. Is it possible to do this?

• DNS Lookup in ASP.Net

  I have a Windows server that is intermittently losing the ability to lookup DNS information. I'm trying to get to the root cause of the problem but in the mean time I'd like to be able to monitor whether the server can perform lookups. Basically, it should attempt to lookup some common hostnames and the display 'Success' if the lookups are successful. I see lots of examples of doing this with third party components in ASP.NET but I would prefer to be able to do this with a single ASP.Net script that would be portable and not require anything additional be installed.

  Greetings, Using the Facebook API, I have obtained an OAuth access token for a user. I can use it to retrieve information about the user and post to their wall, etc. I'm trying to figure out how to (or if there is a way to) programmatically get a list of pages a user owns (so that they can be presented in a drop-down list on a third-party site). I have been unable to find such a method in the Facebook API, but I'm hoping I've missed something. Thanks!

  Hi all, This is one of my first try with Map Reduce on AWS in its Management Console. Hi have uploaded on AWS S3 my runnable jar developed on Hadoop 0.18, and it works on my local machine. As described on documentation, I have passed the S3 paths for input and output as argument of the jar: all right, but the problem is the third argument that is another path (as string) to a file that I need to load while the job is in execution. That file resides on S3 bucket too, but it seems that my jar doesn't recognize the path and I got a FileNotFound Exception while it tries to load it. That is strange because this is a path exactly like the other two... Anyone have any idea? Thank you Luca

  I have 3 tables users(id,name),groups(id,name) and users_groups(user_id,group_id). users and groups have many to many relationship, so the third one is for storing users and groups relations. I would like to select all the data from groups with user count in each group. So far I came up with this: SELECT groups.*, COUNT(users_groups.user_id) AS user_count FROM groups LEFT JOIN users_groups ON users_groups.group_id = groups.id The problem is that query result is not returning any of groups which has no users (users_groups doesnt have any records with group_id of those groups). How should I create my query to select all the groups and they user count, or user count as 0 if there are no users for that group?

  Building a ASP.NET MVC site and I would like to add some values to my .resx file at run time. I have tried: IResourceWriter writer = new ResourceWriter("myResources.resources"); writer.AddResource("String 3", "Third String"); writer.Close(); This code compiles and executes fine but after I close the website and look at the .resx file it is corrupt and I must re-create the .resx file again. • WPF combo box, adding an all options item, when binding to an Observable Collection

  So I've got an object that has an observable collection. Most places I bind to this collection I only want the user to select a single item. But in one place I want the combobox to include an all items option. Is the way to do this simply with xaml converter? It seems like doing it in the view model would be a good idea, but it's really a lot dependency object goop to basically wire up an collection that is two objects deep for an on change event, where as the xaml converter just works. But I always feel like xaml converters should be generic and reusable, where in this instance, the xaml converter would be more of a one off. Of course the third option would be to create one off list for UI in the object that contains the standard observable collection. But this seems to be mixing the logic and presentation in a way that makes me uncomfortable.

• What is the best method of assessment for computer science students?

  This question is a bit more philosophical so feel free to remove if you like but it's been bugging me for the last 4 years! As a final year student I find that exams can be often be passed with a couple of days of cramming, without necessarily retaining or understanding the content i.e. a regurgitation of lecture notes is often enough to gain high marks. A friend of mine is about to graduate with an honours degree whose final year evaluation was based solely on practical work (a project, assignment marks and the creation of a poster) yet all of this work could have been completed by a third party. Personally I don't think either of these methods of assessment is sufficient as I am currently on track for a 1st class honours in artificial intelligence and computer science and believe this is mostly due to my skill in passing exams not my skill as a programmer or my vast in depth knowledge of any of the subjects I have "studied". Surely there is a better way to assess our skills - isn't there?

Basically, each page has tabs, and all are navigational via drop down at the top, with each 'tab' being available in the drop down. Currently I'm able to text-link, but only within the page I'm on, and I'm just lost on the getting it to work correctly from page to page. • How to step frames in a movie recorded by iPhone

  Is there a way to have my iPhone program step frame by frame through a movie recorded by the iPhone? What I want to do is have the user record a quicktime movie, then be able to step through the movie frame by frame. Alternately, I suppose if there was a way to extract every single frame from the movie to a jpg, then I could easily step through the pictures. Anyone know of a way to do this??? I suppose the third option (which might not get past Apple's store) is to capture the movie the way the old jailbroken apps did, which is somehow capture the pictures directly from the camera view????   dear friends, i have a small form with four EditText fields in which second EditText is disable for text Editing. now when i roll Android Phone ball to move from the top to bottom first time it selects disabled EditText and then third EditText and moves downward to foruth EditText. but when i try to move upward on Disabled EditText it displays me error Force Close after selecting it. it is only happening in phone not in Emulator. please guide how to resolve this issue? any help would be appriciated.
