(Mac)Vim seems to be picking up /usr/bin/python instead of the one that's at the front of my path (/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/bin/python) when I use the :python command. Is this entirely a compile-time thing or can I somehow override it?
I have a bunch of text files that are encoded in ISO-8851-2 (have some polish characters). Is there a command line tool for linux/mac that I could run from a shell script to convert this to a saner utf-8?
I've heard that Microsoft accepts that the name of ExecuteNonQuery method of command classes was given inappropriate. Is there any official information about it, or it is just a rumour?
While implementing the BluetoothChat application .apk inside G1 device, it always pops up a message:
$adb install -r /home/parveen/workspace/BluetoothChat/bin/BluetoothChat.apk
-bash: adb: command not found
I am not getting clearly why this error is popping up every time.
Please help me.
Thanks in advance.

I can't find anything like that. Commercial or free ( XSQL Lite is suitable for my case and ) tools show diffs in grids with possibility to export to CSV. Also they generate sync SQL scripts when run from command line. What I need is an output as a comprehensive report ( XML , HTML ) suitable for parsing so that I would be able to show similar diff grid in my application ( updated old/new values for each column , added - all values for row , deleted - all values for row and etc... ) .

I have a connection object to a server and a command:
SqlConnection conn = /* my connection*/;
string cmd = "some_sql_command";
I want to check if SQL Server can execute cmd. I don't want to execute cmd, but I want to know If SQL Server can execute it.

I want to upload a file to a ftp server programmatically (C++). If the connection is lost while uploading a file, I wouldn't want to upload the file from scratch, but to upload only the part that I haven't sent.
Does the APPE command fulfill my demand? What list of FTP commands should I use exactly? And how?

I'm writing a shell script which will rsync files from remote machines, some linux, some macs, to a central backup server. The macs have folders on the root level containing aliases of all files/folders which need to be backed up. What is a terminal command I can use to resolve the path to the files/folders the aliases point to? (I'll need to pass these paths to rsync)

In the Korn shell on AIX UNIX Version 5.3 with the editor mode set to vi using:
set -o vi
What are the key-strokes at the shell command line to autocomplete a file or directory name ?
Lets say I issue :shell command from withing VI. Then I navigate to a directory and decide that I need to edit foo.txt file which I see there. Is there a way to return back to vi from the shell and have foo.txt opened for editing

I have a java application that has an icon in the tray of the menu bar at the top of OSX. I've been able to remove the icon from the dock when the application is "minimized to tray", but it still appears when I command-tab to switch between my running applications. I'd like to hide it from there too, but I'm not sure how to do that, so I would appreciate any advice
Thanks!
