    - by toni
Hi, My problem is that I want to access from a page to the properties of a control (button, textblock, label, or a menuitem of the window....) placed in a window. The page is placed into the window. How can I do this? Is there any method to find controls by name in a specific window or page or entire application? Thanks.

  • "Hiding" things in GIT

    - by bobobobo
Git noob here. I know this is against the principal of "distributed source control" but I want to "password protect" certain development branches in my GIT repository. That is, I don't want that branch to be available via git branch -r, except to a certain group of developers who need access to that branch, via some sort of password. Possible?

  • Good comments on changesets in sourcecontrol

    - by Roma
We need to develop guidelines for writing comments when we register code in version control system (such as TFS). E.g., when we submit a bugfix, we create a comment "Fixed bug #..." We tried to brainstorm on this topic, but most of the ideas bring too little added value. I would appreciate any suggestions for this.

  • Can Perforce and SourceSafe co-exist in Visual Studio?

    - by Chris
Visual Studio 2008, to be more specific. We're testing out moving to Perforce for source control, so I'd like to install the P4SCC plugin to monkey around with. However, I'd also like to continue using SourceSafe's IDE capabilities for projects that haven't been moved over yet. Can the two co-exist peacefully, or is it one or the other for a specific install of VS?

  • Team working on Drupal - Tips

    - by fighella
I am working on a Drupal site with a few friends. Obviously we can Version control the code... but what do we do to keep each others databases in check? I have managed to get all the theming into files (contemplate etc), but ideally my views settings, menu settings would be in line also... (Not worried about Content either way as we're just building the framework) Any suggestions?

  • Removing a file from TortoiseHG data source

    - by Hossein Margani
Hi! I am using TortoiseHG for source code control in Windows, I forgot to edit the ".hgignor" file, and now I have a huge folder ".hg" which I know it's because of DLL and EXE and PDB files which I do not need them. Now changing the ignor file does not remove those files. What should I do for deleting these files completely from my TortoiseHg data source? Thank you.

  • What is the best VCS Solution for Windows?

    - by Alix Axel
My code base is getting quite big and it's difficult to organize all the different branches using just directories, I was wondering what would be a decent version control system for my own personal use that works (with little hassle) on Windows? PS: I'm not looking for hosted VCS like GitHub, SourceForge or Google Code.

  • Beginner question about merging in git

    - by wxyz
I'm 15 and have just started using source control systems to manage my code a little better, so I'm a little new to this stuff. Right now I have this repository: [a]---[b]---[d]---[f] master \ \ [c]---[e] develop I want to wind up here: [a]---[b]---[d]---[f]---[g] master \ / \ / [c]---[e]---/ develop where g is equivalent to performing commits [c] and [e] on [f]. This is git checkout master; git merge develop, right?

    - by jay
What is the difference between git and cvs version control systems? I have been happily using CVS for over 10 years and have been told that GIT is much better. Could someone please explain what the difference between the two is and why one is better than the other?

  • Visual Studio SVN integration

    - by Piku
Is there any way to properly integrate Subversion control into VS2008? I'm currently using the TortoiseSVN shell extensions, but I keep forgetting to check in new files and it's easy to get in a confused mess. On another project I use VS2008 with SourceSafe, and it's really nice having most things automated or controlled simply by using VS in its normal way.

  • How and/or Why is Merging in GIT Better than in SVN?

    - by John
I've heard a few places that one of the main ways distributed version control systems shine, is much better merging than traditional tools like SVN. Is this actually due to inherent differences in how the two systems work, or do specific DVCS implementations like GIT/Mercurial just have cleverer merging algorithms than SVN?

  • Inputs inside ListView doesn't change values from old to recently set on ItemUpdating event

    - by Tema
Hi, I would appreciate if someone help me to understand this situation. I do not know why but when i edit selected ListView item (containing few TextBoxes) and then press Update button in the ItemUpdating event i always get old values instead of those which were typed recently. Why? I do not use Page_Load event so i do not need check on PostBack I try to get value before i bind data from DB to ListView, so it can't override recently typed values I tried to get TextBoxes values in different Event handlers - ItemCommand, ItemUpdating, ItemDataBound - result si always the same Collection NewValues and OldValues are always empty (i think this is because i don't use SqlDataSource control) The only one way i can get new values - is to check Request, but in this case i can't use control validators ... so probably it is bad idea to work with only request. This is the code of ItemUpdating method: ListViewItem editItem = AdminUsersListView.EditItem; Guid userId = new Guid((editItem.FindControl("UserId") as HiddenField).Value); Hashtable dataUpdate = new Hashtable { { "UserName", Request[ (editItem.FindControl("UserNameNew") as TextBox).UniqueID ] }, { "Email", Request[ (editItem.FindControl("Email") as TextBox).UniqueID ] }, { "IsApproved", Request[ (editItem.FindControl("IsApproved") as CheckBox).UniqueID ] == "on" }, { "IsLockedOut", Request[ (editItem.FindControl("IsLockedOut") as CheckBox).UniqueID ] == "on" } }; var x1 = dataUpdate["UserName"]; // this is corrent new value from Request var x2 = (editItem.FindControl("UserNameNew") as TextBox).Text; // this is WRONG! OLD! value from TextBox ... Why??? using (Entities entities = new Entities()) { aspnet_Membership membershipItem = entities.aspnet_Membership.Where(MBS => MBS.UserId == userId).FirstOrDefault(); membershipItem.Email = dataUpdate["Email"].ToString(); membershipItem.LoweredEmail = membershipItem.Email.ToLower(); membershipItem.IsApproved = Convert.ToBoolean(dataUpdate["IsApproved"]); membershipItem.IsLockedOut = Convert.ToBoolean(dataUpdate["IsLockedOut"]); entities.SaveChanges(); aspnet_Users userItem = entities.aspnet_Users.Where(USR => USR.UserId == userId).FirstOrDefault(); userItem.UserName = dataUpdate["UserName"].ToString(); userItem.LoweredUserName = userItem.UserName.ToLower(); entities.SaveChanges(); } AdminUsersListView.EditIndex = -1; AdminUsersListView.DataSource = _getDataList(); AdminUsersListView.DataBind(); Thanks, Art

  • How can I add headers to DualList control wpf

    - by devnet247
Hi all I am trying to write a Dual List usercontrol in wpf. I am new to wpf and I am finding it quite difficult. This is something I have put together in a couple of hours. It's not that good but a start. I would be extremely grateful if somebody with wpf experience could improve it. The aim is to simplify the usage as much as possible I am kind of stuck. I would like the user of the DualList Control to be able to set up headers how do you do that. Do I need to expose some dependency properties in my control? At the moment when loading the user has to pass a ObservableCollection is there a better way? Could you have a look and possibly make any suggestions with some code? Thanks a lot!!!!! xaml <Grid ShowGridLines="False"> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="*"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="25px"></ColumnDefinition> <ColumnDefinition Width="*"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="*"></RowDefinition> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <StackPanel Orientation="Vertical" Grid.Column="0" Grid.Row="0"> <Label Name="lblLeftTitle" Content="Available"></Label> <ListView Name="lvwLeft"> </ListView> </StackPanel> <WrapPanel Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="0"> <Button Name="btnMoveRight" Content=">" Width="25" Margin="0,35,0,0" Click="btnMoveRight_Click" /> <Button Name="btnMoveAllRight" Content=">>" Width="25" Margin="0,05,0,0" Click="btnMoveAllRight_Click" /> <Button Name="btnMoveLeft" Content="&lt;" Width="25" Margin="0,25,0,0" Click="btnMoveLeft_Click" /> <Button Name="btnMoveAllLeft" Content="&lt;&lt;" Width="25" Margin="0,05,0,0" Click="btnMoveAllLeft_Click" /> </WrapPanel> <StackPanel Orientation="Vertical" Grid.Column="2" Grid.Row="0"> <Label Name="lblRightTitle" Content="Selected"></Label> <ListView Name="lvwRight"> </ListView> </StackPanel> </Grid> Client public partial class DualListTest { public ObservableCollection<ListViewItem> LeftList { get; set; } public ObservableCollection<ListViewItem> RightList { get; set; } public DualListTest() { InitializeComponent(); LoadCustomers(); LoadDualList(); } private void LoadDualList() { dualList1.Load(LeftList, RightList); } private void LoadCustomers() { //Pretend we are getting a list of Customers from a repository. //Some go in the left List(Good Customers) some go in the Right List(Bad Customers).
