  • How to automate login to Google API to get OAuth 2.0 token to access known user account

    Ok, so this question has been asked before here. In the response/answer to the question, the user tells him to store the token in the application (session and not db, although it doesn't matter where you store it). After going through the documentation on Google, it seems that the token has an expiration date after which it is no longer valid. Now, we could obviously automatically refresh the token every fixed interval, thereby prolonging the lifespan of the token, but for some reason, this manual process feels like a hack. My questions is: Is this most effective (/generally accepted) way to access google calendar/app data for a known user account by manually logging in and persisting the token in the application? Or is there another mechanism that allows us to programmatically login to this user account and go through the OAuth steps?

    I am integrating bing maps into a web page. I am calling the GetDirections() method of my VEMap option. and setting the VERouteOptions.ShowDisambiguation property to true when I call VEMap.GetDirections(). So sometimes I get the following dialog: The problem is sometimes the user will enter a second set of directions into my form, and dialog remains. I've done the following to attempt to correct it: // In case the disambiguation dialog a.k.a "" is present from a previous direction search var disambiguationDialogElement = $('#myMap_veplacelistpanel')[0]; if (typeof (disambiguationDialogElement) == "object") { map.DeleteControl(disambiguationDialogElement); } It seems to work, but it feels like a suboptomial approach.   • TFS2010 API - Which server event fires when checkin notes are changed?

    I've written a TFS plugin that impliments the ISubscribe interface, and creates an external ticket base off of the contents of a check-in note. What I would like to do, if when I go back through older TFS check-ins in VS and edit a check-in note, the plugin would process that event and create an external ticket retroactively. What event / SubscribedType do I need to subscribe to in order for ProcessEvents to fire?   • How to define template directives (from an API perspective)?

    Preface I'm writing a template language (don't bother trying to talk me out of it), and in it, there are two kinds of user-extensible nodes. TemplateTags and TemplateDirectives. A TemplateTag closely relates to an HTML tag -- it might look something like div(class="green") { "content" } And it'll be rendered as <div class="green">content</div> i.e., it takes a bunch of attributes, plus some content, and spits out some HTML. TemplateDirectives are a little more complicated. They can be things like for loops, ifs, includes, and other such things. They look a lot like a TemplateTag, but they need to be processed differently. For example, @for($i in $items) { div(class="green") { $i } } Would loop over $items and output the content with the variable $i substituted in each time. So.... I'm trying to decide on a way to define these directives now. Template Tags The TemplateTags are pretty easy to write. They look something like this: [TemplateTag] static string div(string content = null, object attrs = null) { return HtmlTag("div", content, attrs); } Where content gets the stuff between the curly braces (pre-rendered if there are variables in it and such), and attrs is either a Dictionary<string,object> of attributes, or an anonymous type used like a dictionary. It just returns the HTML which gets plunked into its place. Simple! You can write tags in basically 1 line. Basically, the stuff between the ( and ) is not split into arguments automatically (like the template tags do), and the content isn't pre-rendered either. The reason it isn't pre-rendered is because you might want to add or remove some template variables or something first. In this case, we add the $i variable to the template variables, var templateVars = new Dictionary<string, object>(data) { { itemName, item } }; And then render the content manually, sb.Append(template.Render(templateVars)); Question I'm wondering if this is the best approach to defining custom Template Directives. I want to make it as easy as possible. What if the user doesn't know how to render templates, or doesn't know that he's supposed to? Maybe I should pass in a Template instance pre-filled with the content instead? Or maybe only let him tamper w/ the template variables, and then automatically render the content at the end? OTOH, for things like "if" if the condition fails, then the template wouldn't need to be rendered at all. So there's a lot of flexibility I need to allow in here. Thoughts?

Anyway, is there any way to use the cookies from the browser in the cURL script? At the moment when you run the script it asks you to log in.     I have fairly large map overlay that I am displaying over the google maps data but would still like to see the country/state/province lines through my overlay (so the lines would essentially be on top of my overlay). As I understand, these lines are simply polygons drawn over the maps. Is there any way to access these? If so, how do I get them to show up through my overlay images?

I have a csv file with 200,000 links to websites i want to add another field (or maybe couple of them) to each link in the csv file with page ranking of each link and maybe other interesting metrics and info about the link. I saw a free API from http://apiwiki.seomoz.org/ i can maybe use to build a simple script, but it's limited to 3 links for second which will roughly take 1100 minutes or 18 hours to run any other ideas how to get this kind of simple metrics about each link ? thanks !

Now i'm wondering if i need to make users check and read the my own site's privacy and policy before and accept that is some way, is this needed? The site is for text/pourpouse sharing, and you can only interact with the site after you are logged/registered, althought you can only navigate lists of users and pourpouses. thanks

    Hello I am looking for a way to get bank account information (transactions and balance) from a financial institution and display it on a website. The question is vague intentionally.... Everything is open. I haven't chosen a bank, serverside technology or front end technology. The idea is to have a script run automatically periodically (once or twice a day) and get the latest account information from the bank server automatically.     what i want to do: offer my clients the possibility to display their store as a small graphic (like google maps). just a small png with the location of the store. only the specific client is able to see this images and he pays for this area (not only for that :) ). So i'm looking for a api or whatever else to geocode(?) the adress and render a small (280*160px) image. google offers a premium licence (not cheap) ms bing openstreetmap - i'm not able to understand the 10^10 licences ;( any ideas?
