• Uploading image with AsynFileUpload(ACT Control) and changing Image Url of an Image Control??

  Hi! I Used AsyncFileUpload(one of Ajac Control Toolkit Controls) to Uploading User's Image. this works well. But i want to change the image url of an image contorl to uploaded image url. how can i perform that?   Hi Guys, please help µe as I am new into accessing an unmanaged DLL from C#.. I have a large unmanaged DLL in C++ and I am trying to access the DLL's classes and functions from a C# Web Service. I have seen many examples how to use DLLImport, but for some reason I am stuck with my very first wrapper method spending many hours with no luck.. What should I do to return an object in my 'Marshaled' [DllImport..] function?   I have a .NET winforms app that automates Excel and checks for a worksheet password. The requirements are to be able to detect 1) that the protection is turned off 2) that the password is removed (protected but there is no password) 3) that the password matches the correct password from a database To meet the second requirement the program calls the Worksheet.Unprotect command with a null string, capturing the error. If error as expected, the 3rd check is made. If no error, then the Unprotect worked without a password == password was removed. The code sample below has these checks. The application can do this fine with Office 2003. I have since had my dev machine updated to Office 2007 and it no longer works as it did. When I call the Worksheet.Unprotect, Excel prompts for the password! I need to know how this should be accomplished in the new version of Excel or if there is a way to reference the old PIA. No matter what if I set a reference to Excel 11 it is replaced with the PIA for 12 in the GAC. • Problem with header files of ARToolkitPlus after making the ARToolKitPlus dylib!

  I'm writing this Augmented Reality app for the iPhone and I'd decided to use ARToolKitPlus for it. Using QMake, I created the xcode project file and subsequently the libArToolKitPlus.dylib I tried to compile and run the sample files "simple" and "multi" which worked well. Now all other attempts that I tried to create another project and use the library have failed due to header files not being found. If I drag the "include" folder to the xcode project I get 8 errors instead of just one; The one is for the main include not being found is solved but then it includes 8 other headers that cannot be found (although they are in the same folder) #include "ARToolKitPlus/TrackerSingleMarkerImpl.h" I get a error: ARToolKitPlus/TrackerSingleMarkerImpl.h: No such file or directory If I drag the include folder then some of what I get: error: ARToolKitPlus/TrackerSingleMarker.h: No such file or directory error: ../src/TrackerSingleMarkerImpl.cpp: No such file or directory error: expected class-name before ',' token class TrackerSingleMarkerImpl : public TrackerSingleMarker, protected TrackerImpl<__PATTERN_SIZE_X,__PATTERN_SIZE_Y, __PATTERN_SAMPLE_NUM, __MAX_LOAD_PATTERNS, __MAX_IMAGE_PATTERNS Having the dylib doesnt make a difference as far as I can tell. What do you think I should do?? Would creating a framework help??

For example, if I was making thousands of cat objects, what is the best way to modify this pattern to take advantage of the prototype object?

• Sharing sessions across applications using the ASP.NET Session State Service

  I am trying to share sessions between two web applications, both hosted on the same server. One is a .net 2.0 web forms application the other is as .net 3.5 MVC2 application. Both apps have their session set up like this: <sessionState mode="StateServer" stateConnectionString="tcpip=127.0.0.1:42424" /> In the webform application I am posting the the session key to the MVC app: protected void LinkButton1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { Session["myvariable"] = "dan"; string sessionKey = HttpContext.Current.Session.SessionID; //Followed by some code that posts sessionKey to the other application } I then recieve it in the MVC application and try use the same session like this: [HttpPost] public void Recieve(string sessionKey ) { var manager = new SessionIDManager(); bool redirected; bool IsAdded; manager.SaveSessionID(HttpContext.ApplicationInstance.Context, Id, out redirected, out IsAdded); var sessionKey = Session["myvariable"]; } The key is being posted but the session does not seem to get loaded in the MVC app, i.e. sessionKey is null. Can what I am trying to do be done?

• Confused as to which Prototype helper to use

I have a simplistic model that deletes the oldest message after the list of messages reaches 24, the model is this simple: class Message < ActiveRecord::Base after_create :destroy_old_messages protected def destroy_old_messages messages = Message.all(:order => 'updated_at DESC') messages[24..-1].each {|p| p.destroy } if messages.size >= 24 end end There is a message form below the list of messages which is used to add new messages. I'm using Prototype/RJS to add new messages to the top of the list. create.rjs: page.insert_html :top, :messages, :partial => @message page[@message].visual_effect :grow #page[dom_id(@messages)].replace :partial => @message page[:message_form].reset My index.html.erb is very simple: <div id="messages"> <%= render :partial => @messages %> </div> <%= render :partial => "message_form" %> When new messages are added they appear just fine, but when the 24 message limit has been reached it just keeps adding messages and doesn't remove the old ones. Ideally I'd like them to fade out as the new ones are added, but they can just disappear. The commented line in create.rjs actually works, it removes the expired message but I lose the visual effect when adding a new message. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to accomplish adding and removing messages from this simple list with effects for both? Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading. P.S.: would periodically_call_remote be helpful in this situation?

• .NET OwnerDraw ComboBox: Vista/7 themed DropDownList

  I'm working on a custom ComboBox for a project, and have the basic painting working. One of the remaining things to do is make it look like the default ComboBox in Vista and 7, when the DropDownStyle is set to DropDownList (looks like a button instead of a regular ComboBox). I read much about VisualStyleRenderer, read ComboBox.cs and ComboBoxRenderer.cs, and tried to get it working. It works in the sense of, it does something. It just doesn't do what it's supposed to do. I also found an article about Vista themed Owner-Drawn Buttons, but it is in C++ (which would be a challenge on its own for me) and it seems like an awful lot of code. If anyone could supply either VB or C# code, that would be great. Below is my current code.   I am using TCPDF with FPDI's bridge. The issue I'm having is that as soon as I use the startTransaction() I get the following error: TCPDF ERROR: Cannot access protected property FPDI:$numpages / Undefined property: FPDI::$numpages and the script ends (because of the die in the TCPDF::Error() method). Here is the code I'm using: $pdf = new FPDI(); // add a page $pdf->AddPage(); $pdf->startTransaction(); $pdf->Cell(0, 0, 'blah blah blah'); $pdf->rollbackTransaction(); $pdf->Output( . time() . '.pdf', 'D'); If I change it to: $pdf = new FPDI(); // add a page $pdf->AddPage(); $pdf->Cell(0, 0, 'blah blah blah'); $pdf->Output( . time() . '.pdf', 'D'); it works fine. Is there anyway to make them work together and use TCPDF's transactions?

• Background image in a JFrame.

  Hi, This question has been asked a lot but everywhere the answers fall short. I can get a JFrame to display a background image just fine by extending JPanel and overriding paintComponent, like so: class BackgroundPanel extends JPanel { private ImageIcon imageIcon; public BackgroundPanel() { this.imageIcon = Icons.getIcon("foo"); } @Override protected void paintComponent(Graphics g) { super.paintComponent(g); g.drawImage(imageIcon.getImage(), 0,0,imageIcon.getIconWidth(),imageIcon.getIconHeight(),this); } } But now, how do you add a component on top of that background? When I go JFrame w = new JFrame() ; Container cp = w.getContentPane(); cp.setLayout(null); BackgroundPanel bg = new BackgroundPanel(); cp.add(bg); JPanel b = new JPanel(); b.setSize(new Dimension(30, 40)); b.setBackground(Color.red); cp.add(b); w.pack() w.setVisible(true) It shows the little red square (or any other component) and not the background, but when I remove cp.setLayout(null);, the background shows up but not my other component. I'm guessing this has something to do with the paintComponent not being called by the null LayoutManager, but I'm not at all familiar with how LayoutManagers work (this is a project for college and the assignment specifically says not to use a LayoutManager) When i make the image the background has to display null (and so, transparant (??)) the red square shows up so it might be that the background is actually above my other components) Does anyone anyone have any ideas? • Postback event not firing on FIRST button click..

  Hi, I have a form which accepts two arguments. The first one is mode - this is either view, new or edit. If it is new then the second argument is type - this is either range, collection or design. When set to new, and the type is valid, a new instance of that type is created and the data from the form is added to it. The item (range, collection or design) then validates the data. If any of the data is invalid then it throws an error, and this error is displayed at the top of the form telling the user why it is invalid. A variable, _Databind, is set to false so that it does not change the data input by the user (in the form fields). The button used to submit the button is called btnSave, and is created in the html source. The click event is wired up in the form Protected Sub Blah(sender, e) Handles btnSave.Click. Strangely, whenever I edit an item that already exists the form submits fine the first time - the click event is fired. However when in "new" mode I have to click the button twice to fire the event. It also blanks all the form fields out on first click. I have even put a Response.Write("Hello World") line at the start of the click event - this is not being output on first click when adding a new item either. It is on first load when the mode is set to edit however. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is causing it to behave this way? Thanks in advance for any help. Regards, Richard

  I need to implement time calculation for repository methods in my asp .net mvc project classes. The problem is that i need to send time calculation data to WCF Service which is time consuming. I think about threads which can help to cal WCF service asynchronously. But I have very little experience with it. Do I need to create new thread each time or I can create a global thread, if so then how? • How do I handle nils in views?

  I have the following models set up: class Contact < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :band belongs_to :mode validates_presence_of :call, :mode validates_associated :mode, :band validates_presence_of :band, :if => :no_freq? validates_presence_of :freq, :if => :no_band? protected def no_freq? freq.nil? end def no_band? band.nil? end end class Band < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :logs end class Mode < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :logs end When I enter a frequency on my new view it allows for no band to be specified if a freq is entered. This creates a problem in my other views though because band is now nil. How do I allow for band not to be specified and just show up as empty on my index and show views, and then in the edit view allow one to be specified at a later point in time. I have been able to get my index to display a blank by doing: contact.band && contact.band.name But I'm not sure if this is a best approach, and I'm unsure of how to apply a similar solution to my other views. The problems include: Too many data points for the trend line Trend line does not follow a Bezier curve (spline) The source of the problem is with the incrementer class. The incrementer is provided with the data points iteratively. There does not appear to be a way to get the set of data.   I'm getting 100+ errors per day on my website with System.Web.HttpException: Invalid viewstate. The website is asp.net 3.5 running on iis6 , not running in a web-garden/web-farm , single server. • Servlet receives null from Remote EJB3 Session Bean

  I'm sure this is a beginner error... So I have a JEE6 application with entities, facades (implementing the persistence layer) and Stateless Session Beans (EJB3) with Remote interfaces (providing access to the entities via facades). This is working fine. Via the SLSB I can retrieve and manipulate entities. Now, I'm trying to do this from a Web Application (deployed on the same Glassfish, entity+interface definitions from JEE app imported as separate jar). I have a Servlet, that receives an instance of the SLSB injected. I get it to retrieve an entity, and the following happens (I can see it in the logs): the remote SLSB gets instantiated, its method called SLSB instantiates the facade, calls the 'get' method facade retrieves object from DB, returns it SLSB returns the object to the caller (all is good until here) calling servlet receives .. null !! What is going wrong? This should work, right? • Strange rare out-of-order data received using Indy

  We're having a bizarre problem with Indy10 where two large strings (a few hundred characters each) that we send out one after the other are appearing at the other end intertwined oddly. This happens extremely infrequently. Each string is a complete XML message terminated with a LF and in general the READ process reads an entire XML message, returning when it sees the LF. The call to actually send the message is protected by a critical section around the call to the IOHandler's writeln method and so it is not possible for two threads to send at the same time. (We're certain the critical section is implemented/working properly). This problem happens very rarely. The symptoms are odd...when we send string A followed by string B what we received at the other end (on the rare occasions where we have failure) is the trailing section of string A by itself (i.e., there's a LF at the end of it) followed by the leading section of string A and then the entire string B followed by a single LF. We've verified that the "timed out" property is not true after the partial read - we log that property after every read that returns content. Also, we know there are no embedded LF characters in the string, as we explicitly replace all non-alphanumeric characters in the string with spaces before appending the LF and sending it. We have log mechanisms inside the critical sections on both the transmission and receiving ends and so we can see this behavior at the "wire". We're completely baffled and wondering (although always the lowest possibility) whether there could be some low-level Indy issues that might cause this issue, e.g., buffers being sent in the wrong order....very hard to believe this could be the issue but we're grasping at straws. Does anyone have any bright ideas?

  In the description of how to add a list of options to an AlertDialog the official Android documentation alludes to saving a users preferences with one of the "data storage techniques." The examples assume the AlertDialog has been spawned within an Activity class. In my case I've created a class that extends ItemizedOverlay. This class overrides the onTap method and uses an AlertDialog to prompt the user to make a multi-choice selection. I would like to capture and persist the selections for each OverlayItem they tap on. The below code is the onTap method I've written. It functions as written but doesn't yet do what I'd hope. I'd like to capture and persist each selection made by the user to be used later. How do I do that? Is using an AlertDialog in this manner a good idea?   I am using MySQL with Zend Framework & Doctrine 2. I think even if you don't use Doctrine 2, you will be familiar with errors like SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ASC' at line 1 The problem is that I don't see the full query. Without an ORM framework, I could probably echo the sql easily, but with a framework, how can I find out what SQL its trying to execute?
