  • Watir question regarding table rows and loop

    Hi, I would like to go through a table and look for a word, if that word appears, i would like to click on a radio button in the same row, but not the same column, then stop the loop. I have something like this at the moment but i dont know where to go on from here. @ie.div(:class, 'tableclass').table(:index, 1).each do | row | row.each do | cell | if (cell.text() == 'text') ##Set radio button break end end end I tried selecting a radio by name and index, but i do not know how to get the row number that it is currently at.     Hi , I just want to check if I understood well the way asynchronous Http request work on Android. Suppose I make such a request and set a ResponseHandler<String> responseHandler to handle the response. By doing this is it possible to have the UI thread blocked waiting for the response ? The implication being that the code in the function: public String handleResponse(HttpResponse response) is also executed on the UI thread or is there silently spawned a thread that waits for the response and calls the handleResponse(HttpResponse response) function when the response arrives ?

    Hi Guys, I am pretty new to xml parsing and I am using XMLREADER to parse a huge file. Given the following XML (sample): <hotels> <hotel> <name>Bla1</name> </hotel> <hotel> <name>Bla2</name> </hotel> </hotels> And then the XMLREADER in PHP which pulls up the values to my Database: $reader = new XMLReader(); $reader->open('hotels.xml'); while ($reader->read()) { if ($reader->name == "name") { $reader->read(); mysql_query("INSERT INTO MyHotels (hotelName) VALUES (\"$reader->value\")"); } } $reader->close(); The problem is that I've got a single empty row between each of the parsed nodes!! Not sure why this happens! | ID | hotelName | | 1 | Bla1 | | 2 | | | 3 | Bla2 | | 4 | | Help is greatly appreciated.

    I am developing a small browser based game in asp.net. Think of a game room which has a capaticy of 22 players and players join the room by clicking a button. ( I am saving the number of players in the room in database) I need to call a method when the number of players in the room is 22. The problem is I don't know how to control the number of players in the room. I mean I think like there need to be a bacground code which has to run all the time at the server and that code controls the number and call the function. It seems to pass the variable, but nothing after the . works.

    Hi, I am developing an application using PHP but I am new to regular expressions, I could not find a solution to my problem. I want to replace all occurences of #word with a link, i have written a preg_match for this: $text=preg_replace('~#([\p{L}|\p{N}]+)~u', '<a href="/?aranan=$1">#$1</a>', $text); The problem is, this regular expression also matches the html character codes like &#039; and gives corrupt output. I need to exclude the words starting with &# but i do not know how to do that using regular expressions. Thanks for your help.

    Hi, I've seen in (Apple) sample code two types of ways of allocation memory, and am not sure I understand the difference and resulting behavior. // FAILS NSMutableArray *anArray = [NSMutableArray array]; [anArray release]; // WORKS NSMutableArray *anArray1 = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; [anArray release]; By "FAILS" I mean I get crashes/runtime warnings etc., and not always as soon as I call the release...     I would like a hotkey to Save All in Notepad++ then switch to the browser and refresh the page. I have to do this thousands of times a day and doing the Save All hotkey, then Alt-Tab to the right window, then F5 to refresh again and again, there must be a better solution? I am open to switching editors if there is another that can do this. I have tried using run commands but the problem is although it allows you to make something like [firefox.exe "current file"], if you come down to wanting to open it at a web address like localhost because it needs to run server side, then you have to manually specify the other part of the string, like [chrome.exe "custom var(web address) / filename"] and it always opens a new tab, then creates lots of clutter. Also, if you are editing an include file then it will try to open that instead of the page you want to see when you use the run command, a refresh would be the only realistic method I can think of using.

    Ok, so I will start by saying that I am new to all this stuff, and doing my best to work on this project. I have an employee object, that contains a supervisor field. When someone enters a search on my page, a datagrid displays employees whose name match the search. But, I need it to display all employees that report to them and a third tier of employees that report to the original employee's underlings. I only need three tiers. To make this easier, employees only come in 3 ranks, so if rank==3, that employee is not in charge of others. I imagine the best method of retrieving all these employees from my employee table would be something like from employee in context.employees where employee.name == search || employee.boss.name == search || employee.boss.boss.name == search But I am not sure how to make the orderby appear the way I want to. I need it to display in tiers. So, it will look like: Big Boss Boss underling underling Boss underling Boss Boss Big Boss Like I said, there might be an easier way to approach this whole issue, and if there is, I am all ears. Any advice you can give would be HIGHLY appreciated.

    Hi I know this is something simple I am doing wrong. I have three tables, installation, neighborhood, schools Installation: has_many :schools has_many :neighborhoods Neighborhood: has_many :installations has_many :schools Schools: belongs_to :installations belongs_to :neighborhoods I can't figure out how to show the name of the neighborhood the school is located in on the index view. I can get it to show on the show view once I have the school id. But on the index view I can't figure out what to put in the controller that will allow me to access the neighborhood name from the neighborhood_id that is in the School model. I am sure this is so easy and I am screwing up something stupid. HELP!

    I was involved in an interesting debate about the visibility of domain models & was wondering if people here have any good guidance. Per my understanding of MDA, we need not expose the domain model throughout the application layers & tiers The reason being that any change to the domain model has an impact in the overall application The wise thing to do would be to expose light-weight object (DTO's) which are a small sub-set of the domain model to abstract the actual model On the flip side, any change to the domain model would mean changing various DTO's throughout the application for the change to be visible, while if we do expose the domain model, then the change is in a single location Hope to see some comments & thoughts about this.   • HttpHandler with Flash file upload question

    I have a flash file uploader that allows uploading multiple files in one shot. Now on one click how many times will the hanlder is supposed to be called? I am seeing that the ProcessRequest() of the HttpHandler is getting called for each of the files I upload. If I upload 5 files, then the Process request gets called 5 times. This seems odd. I would expect the handler to be called just once where I will loop the Can anyone confirm this behavior or I am missing something?

    Hi, I want to design a game server in python. The game will mostly just be passing small packets filled with ints, strings, and bytes stuffed into one message. As I'm using a different language to write the game, a normal packet would be sent like so: Writebyte(buffer, 5); // Delimit type of message Writestring(buffer, "Hello"); Sendmessage(buffer, socket); As you can see, it writes the bytes to the buffer, and sends the buffer. Is there any way to read something like this in python? I am aware of the struct module, and I've used it to pack things, but I've never used it to actually read something with mixed types stuck into one message. Thanks for the help.
