I've heard that windows mobile 7's user interface (UI) is completely based on silverlight. can anybody confirm this? or it is implemented by other frameworks?
thank you
If Visual Studio 2010 based on WPF, why I cannot open it with reflector?
In other words, devenv.exe seems to be native assembly, so where is the WPF UI code?
I'm using inflector Pluralize and Singularize functions.
I want to know if there is a ready library that know to decide if a word needs to be Pluralize or Singularize based on a number.

So log4j comes with two existing log rollers: RollingFileAppender, and DailyRollingFileAppender. Has anyone heard of an appender that does both of what the former do?
I need an appender that will roll log files based on filesize, but also append the current date to it.
I've been thinking about creating my own appender, but if there is already one that has been created, why not save the time and use that one?
Normally when linking against a static library, I have to specify a library directory and the name of a libX.so (or its symbolic link) as -lX flag for linking [and its directory with -L flag].
Can I automate this based on my header files (in c/c++) only? Or maybe it is not a good idea? Is there a software for locating the -L and -l parameters automatically? Is some table stored somewhere on the system about this on popular linux systems or even cygwin?
I am amazed by the architectural design of node.js and was wondering if C# is capable of such design:
Aasynchronous, event based / event loop, non-blocking IO without multithreading.
I'm developing a CMS aplication in ASP .Net using WebForms and I'm looking for a way to create new PDF files based on a template.
This feature will be used to generate contracts where some placeholders will be replaced with the customer data.
What's the best approach to do that?
<IMG height="160" alt="Web Content Image" src="../image/journal/article?img_id=16505&t=1273484793531" width="240" pngSet />

$("img[pngSet='']").css('border' ,'1px solid red');
I created a new project based on the Wikitionary sample.
After tinkering with it so much and screwing it up, I decided to delete the project and start over again.
After deleting my project, I find that the Wiktionary sample is no longer available as a starting point.
Are these one-and-done samples?
Thanks
Just wondering if it's possible to go through a flac, mp3, wav, etc file and edit portions, or the entire file by removing sections based on a specific frequency range?
So for example, I have a recording of a friend reciting a poem with a few percussion instruments in the background. Could I write a C program that goes through the entire file and cuts out everything except the vocals (human voice frequency ranges from 85-255 Hz, from what I've been reading)?
Thanks in advance for any ideas!
Well, let me explain this briefly:
1.I want to build a website that provides location based services, like http://fireeagle.yahoo.net/ .
2.I guess most of these services have something do with longitude and latitude.
3.Is there any particular database/datastore/data structures fit well for such apps? I mean easy to store longitude, latitude and easy to compute or easy to use.
I am new to this and any feedbacks are welcome
What real world project based on Windows Embedded do you know? Please provide some details such as description, project domain, key feature and why Windows Embedded is used?
I want to implement a chat service on my site, and wonder how to create a simple browser-based IRC client?
I have a linux box and can install whatever I want on it. Google finds tutors on how to setup an IRC server but no instructions on how to create an IRC client.
(As client languages, I can use JavaScript or Flash.)
Why some people called css+div based layouts to "Tableless Layouts"?
What should we called?
Is "Tableless Layouts" a perfect word? or "css layouts" is more perfect word?
Although for tabular data we always use tables. and just to use div in place of table tr td is not enough. and overuse of div is as bad as table layouts
My laptop supports hardware virtualization (AMD SVM) and I know that:
QEMU can make use of hardware virtualization through KVM;
The Android emulator is very much based on QEMU
Natural question follows: can I combine the two (Android+KVM) to get improved performance in the emulator?
when i run exe(MFC Dialog based application) in Win 2k3 Fails to run(MSJAVA.dll Missing error).but the same exe runs successfully in WIN xp
Edit:
As per the solution by Goz ,I have downloaded the MSJAVA.dll and tried to run the exe,but am getting the below error,
"The Side-by-Side configuration information for "f:\test\TESTCSDATACHANGEEVENTS.EXE" contains errors. This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem (14001)."
I have a scores table that has two fields:
user_id
score
I'm fetching specific rows that match a list of user_id's. How can I determine a rank for each row relative to the total number of rows, based on score? The rows in the result set are not necessarily sequential (the scores will vary widely from one row to the next). I'm not sure if this matters, but user_id is a unique field.
What's the best way to adjust the path destination for a routing table created in the global.asax Application_Start event based on the domain/sub domain/host? The following worked in IIS6, but with IIS7 the request object is decoupled from the Application_Start event and therefore does not work anymore:
Dim strHost As String = Context.Request.Url.Host
Dim strDir As String = ""
If strHost.Contains("domain1.com") Then
strDir = "area1/"
Else
strDir = "area2/"
End If
routes.MapPageRoute("Search", "Search", "~/" & strDir & "search.aspx")
By textbook based i mean the author asks the reader questions/mini projects after every section/chapter of the book. And the book includes background info on php 5, like what kind of language, its use, syntax/semantix/structure etc. Any suggestions?
Is it possible, from within ASP.NET MVC, to route to different controllers or actions based on the accessing device/browser?
I'm thinking of setting up alternative actions and views for some parts of my website in case it is accessed from the iPhone, to optimize display and functionality of it. I don't want to create a completely separate project for the iPhone though as the majority of the site is fine on any device.
Any idea on how to do this?
As the title suggests, is there any way to filter the “Open Resource” dialog based on path? For example, so I can navigate to c/foo or d/foo without having to up/down through the {a,b}/foo?
I need to conditionally load a few nested user controls on a webpage based on a dropdown selection that fires a callback. Is this possible? Are there any best practices for such an approach?
I have some pages on a website and I have to create an ordering based on "popularity"/"activity"
The parameters that I have to use are:
views to the page
comments made on the page (there is a form at the bottom where uses can make comments)
clicks made to the "like it" icon
Are there any standards for what a formula for popularity would be? (if not opinions are good too)
(initially I thought of views + 10*comments + 10*likeit)
Hello everyone,
I'm about to start building a subscription based website that will function much like 37signals offerings in terms of users paying a monthly fee to use the site.
But in my case I would like for them to be able to use their own hosted domain names and have them point to my server.
Is this possible? How do i link up the domain name with their account on my server?
Thanks a mil!
