• Bootstrap 3.0.0: How to use data-slide-to outside of indicators?

  I am attempting to make a small gallery like the one shown below - I'm sure you've all seen them considering they are fairly common. When trying to make one using bootstrap I ran into a major problem. I can't seem to link the smaller bottom images to the larger top one that was when one of the smaller ones is clicked it changes to the selected image. I am attempting to use data-slide-to however it does not seem to work outside of the "carousel-indicators". I can't put it into the carousel indicators list because that moves the images up into the gallery (It may be possible to fix this with CSS but my attempts have been worthless). Does anyone know the problem? I've tried tags around each image that didn't seem to work then I tried divs. Still nothing. Things to note: I am using 3.0.0 All images are generated (if you haven't guessed already) Smaller images are separate from larger one (not auto scaled down)

• Tiny Wings - Placing items

  I'm currently developing a Flash game like 'Tiny Wings'. I have a lot of work done, but i'm currently working on placing the items ( coins and obstacles ) on the terrain. My player it is moving on a auto-generated terrain (based on Emanuele Feronato's tutorials) so every time the player's x position is greater than (screenWidth + x) another hill is generated and so on. I'm currently having problems placing the items in a correct angle and put 5 or more items together on a hill. Could you please help me with this? Thanks, Regards.   I think a community wiki on problems (and solutions) when installing Ubuntu (10.10) on a Thinkpad Edge 11 would be nice (because I just got one ;)). I'll contribute with my own problems and solutions, and hope others will join too. Thinkwiki entry for the Edge 11 Known problems: No wifi-driver, solution: answer #1, answer #2 Fan is loud, even though it's on auto. No solution. Thinkfan is a possible solution, but correction values for sensors should be supplied (mapping sensors to specific areas). Also, one sensor is between -100C and +100C - maybe some kind of deactivation would help. FN keys stop working: see below. No sound on headphones: see below.

• Clicks counting and crawler bots

  I am currently running a small affiliate-program for Facebook users. We use an auto-poster to publish links to fan pages. Every hit is stored in our database and we have included a 24 hour reload block for the IP-addresses. My problem right now is that the PHP script also stores every hit from all the bots that crawls my website. Now I was thinking to block those bots with the robots.txt of my website but I am afraid that this will have a negative effect on my AdSense ads. Does anybody have an idea for me how to work this out?

  After doing some research, I found that I can quickly set configuration options using the gsettings command in the terminal, instead of installing dconf-editor or gconf-editor or CCSM. But we need the SCHEMA/PATH and KEY to set the value. Syntax is: gsettings set SCHEMA[:PATH] KEY VALUE For example to never auto-hide the launcher: gsettings set com.canonical.Unity2d.Launcher hide-mode 0 And, for windows not to overlap the launcher: gsettings set com.canonical.Unity2d.Launcher use-strut true So, where can I get a list of all the SCHEMA / PATH / KEY that can be set with gsettings? No, please don't suggest the gsettings list-keys command, because I don't know the possibly hundreds of schema available.

  I would like to remove gnome panel completely. I spend most of my time in a (tmux) terminal or a browser. Synapse and a small hidden AWN panel fit the rest of my needs. I have tried all recommended solutions including this (found it a few places): How to delete Gnome Panel? However it always comes back at log in. I have tried changing the required components panel to avant-whatever as well as to empty. I have tried setting them both as default (right click set as default). Right now I just have the last panel set to transparent and auto hide, but it still tends to be annoying. What do I need to do to get rid of this damn thing?

• 12.04 64 bit: Keybord not responding for about 20 seconds at startup/beginning of session

  I am running Ubuntu 12.04 64bit. When I get at the login screen and try to type the password for my user, I cannot type anything for about 20 seconds. After that, the keyboard starts responding and everything works fine. Mouse is responding normally as well as all buttons of the login interface (time/calendar, session selection (Unity/Unity 2D), etc.). What could be the reason for this behavior? How can I solve this temporary freeze of the keyboard so that I can type my password immediately without having to wait each time? Thanks for your time. EDIT: I tried auto login, but the problem is still there: the Desktop loads but even there, if I try to type something in the dash or anywhere else, I must wait about 20 seconds before I can actually start typing. Can the issue be related to some keyboard modules that get loaded little bit "too late"?

• Vim: Pasting from clipboard and automatically toggling :set paste

  Hey. When I paste things from the clipboard, they're normally (always) multilined, and in those cases (and those cases only), I'd like :set paste to be triggered, since otherwise the tabbing will increase with each line (you've all seen it!). Though the problem with :set paste is that it doesn't behave well with set smartindent, causing the cursor to jump to the beginning of a new line instead of at the correct indent. So I'd like to enable it for this instance only. I'm using Mac, sshing to a Debian machine with vim, and thus pasting in Insert mode using cmd-v. Cheers.

• Tracking AdWord ads with different text in Google Analytics

  I'm trying to see how the text in my Google AdWords ads affects my metrics in Analytics. I have auto-linking enabled, so I figured I would be able to automatically see this in Analytics. Unfortunately, if I try to add a second dimension of Traffic Sources-Ad Content, the metrics are only split by the ad's Headline. Most of my tests are changing only the ads' descriptions... So I guess I need to add a tracking parameter like ?campaign=special_text to my URLs? Or is there a way to see the ads split by ad descriptions? Should I add the full suite of utm_campaign/utm_medium/etc parameters? What's the proper way to track these ads which are mostly similar except the ad descriptions?

• How to get parent node in Stanford's JavaNLP?

Suppose I have such chunk of a sentence: (NP (NP (DT A) (JJ single) (NN page)) (PP (IN in) (NP (DT a) (NN wiki) (NN website)))) At a certain moment of time I have a reference to (JJ single) and I want to get the NP node binding A single page. If I get it right, that NP is the parent of the node, A and page are its siblings and it has no children (?). When I try to use the .parent() method of a tree, I always get null. The API says that's because the implementation doesn't know how to determine the parent node. Another method of interest is .ancestor(int height, Tree root), but I don't know how to get the root of the node. In both cases, since the parser knows how to indent and group trees, it must know the "parent" tree, right? How can I get it? Thanks

An inline style tag controlling the width, margin and heigh perimeters are getting added to my img element. They are auto adjusting the images ratio to fit a smaller size. But I can't figure-out where this style tag script lives and how it's happening in my template. My template has no special javascript or jquery scripts. The full size images in the single posts page don't have this style tag. • How to disable the Mount notification in Gnome 3.4?

  How to disable those annoying notifications when you plug a new disk in, or connect to a network and so on.... I know that if I add a device to a mount script they will be mounted on boot thus not showing me the notification, which I did for my hard drives, but it doesn't help with all those flash disks I have... I can't add them all that would be silly. I looked at: How can I disable gnome-shell's notification area? ... but they didn't help, since the code was different I also looked at configuration editor, but I think it can only disable auto-mount when inserted, it doesn't disable notification...

• Auto_raise broken in GNOME 3.4.1?

  Since dist-upgrading 12.04 LTS in such a manner as resulted in an upgrade of GNOME from 3.2.x to 3.4.1, auto_raise is broken. I have the usual auto_raise* settings set in gconf, in apps - metacity - general. But the functionality just doesn't work anymore. Focus follows mouse works fine, yes, but windows just no longer raise after a short delay. I have tried both gconf and tweak tool-based remedies, to no avail. Any ideas on how to work around this? Auto-raise is a really integral part of my workflow.

• Pressing "Home" in Vim on an Indented Line

  I have a bad habit of using the 'home' key to go back to the beginning of a line. As I recently started using vim (and loving it!) I noticed that when I press the home key on a lined that is indented, it returns me to the very beginning of the line. In Notepad++ (the editor I used to use) it would return me to the beginning of the code on that line, right after the indent. Is there some way to replicate this behavior in vim? Usually, when I'm pressing home it's in the Insert mode for me to (usually) stick a variable there. I have set smartindent in my vimrc, with set noautoindent as a "tips" page told me to make sure to disable autoindent (although it didn't seem to be enabled in the first place - perhaps that option is extraneous.)   I have similar issues but none with the 12.04 build. Im trying this on a dell d610 laptop with a bad hard drive and was told i could just directly boot from the usb drive. Im using an 8g usb drive and i have tried using the uui tool and get this message. SYSLINUX 4.06 EDD 4.06-pre1 Copyright (c) 1994-2011 H.Peter Anvinet al ERROR: No configuration file found No DEFAULT or UI configuration directive found! Then i tried using unetbootin and got the bootup screen with only the default option and it would say auto boot with a 10 sec countdown and start over again. I do have the boot sequence for usb first.

• Dual monitor, with a low resolution projector

  I need to show a presentaion to a conference tomorrow. Today I tryed my Ubuntu 10.04 with the projector. My notebook has a resolution of 1440x960, the projector seems to have a really lower resolution. However, thanks to nvidia-settings I configured my video card (a nvidia 9800), it works with other display, but not with the projector. I found the projector, configured as Twin-view, resolution Auto and pressed on Apply, then "Save to x Configuration". On projector is visualized just a quarter of my notebook display. I tryed also to reduce my resolution and to change the resolution of projector, but I obtained no better results. How can I Solve it? On windows all goes well, but I need Ubuntu for personal reasons. I like the idea of storing this coding style meta-information directly and explicitly in the source code. Are there any options for doing this in other IDEs? • Display launcher over a GNOME panel (instead of under)

  I've set up my desktop so that I have a classic style gnome-panel at the bottom to show my active applications with a main menu button on the side. The problem is that the panel stretches across the whole width of the screen and over the launcher, making it difficult to access the icons at the bottom. I could untick the expand option in the panel's properties, but there's no way to resize it so it takes up the rest of the right part of the screen, which is what I want. And if enough applications are open it stretches all the way anyway. I don't want to auto-hide it either. What I'd like to do is make the launcher go over the top of the panel so I can fully access both the launcher and the panel at the same time. If it's possible, how do I do this?
