  • Automatically use inclusion tags (?) in a template, depending on installed apps

    The title may be a little confusing, but I don't know how else to call it. I would like to create a Django project with a large set of applications you could arbitrary turn on or off using INSTALLED_APPS option in settings.py (you would obviously also need to edit urls.py and run syncdb). After being turned on an app should be able to automatically: Register it's content in site-wide search. Luckily django-haystack has this built-in, so it's not a problem. Register cron jobs. django-cron does exactly that. Not a problem. Register a widget that should be displayed on the homepage. The homepage should include a list of boxes with widgets form different applications. I thought about inclusion tags, because you can put them anywhere on a page and they control both content and presentation. The problem is I don't know how to automatically get a list of inclusion tags provided by my applications, and display them one by one on a homepage. I need a way to register them somehow, and then display all registered tags.

    I'm currently looking for some libraries which might help me during iPhone Development using Appcelerator Titanium. I've heard that since version 1.0 it isn't dependant on webkit anymore and it makes app-development more exiting of course, please correct me if i'm wrong. As many people out there i love Javascript Frameworks such as JQuery and Mootools much, but they were build specifically to do a great job within a browser and most of the functionality is not needed within the environment Titanium now provides (DOM-Manipulation etc). Is there any other small library of useful functions i can use for development? Thx in advance.

  • How to improve performance of opening Microsoft Word when automated from c#?

    I have Microsoft Word template that I automated filling it’s fields from my application, and when the user request print I open this template. but creating word application every time user request print after filling fields is very expensive and lead to some delay while opening the template, so I choose to cache the reference to Word then just open the new filled template. that solve the performance issue as opening file is less expensive than recreating Word each time, but this work while the user just close the document not the entire Word application which when happened my reference to Word become invalid and return with exception says: “The RPC server is unavailable” next time request opening template . I tried to subscribe to BeforClosing event but his trigger for Quitting Word as well as Closing documents. My question is how to know if the word is closing document or quit the entire application so I take the proper action, or any hint for another direction of thinking about improve performance of opening word template.

I have this working for a similar function that is selecting a row in a table however I am not attempting to pass data in that scenario.

  • Why does OSX document atoi/atof as not being threadsafe?

    I understand that strtol and strtof are preferred to atoi/atof, since the former detect errors, and also strtol is much more flexible than atoi when it comes to non-base-10. But I'm still curious about something: 'man atoi' (or atof) on OS X (though not on Linux!) mentions that atoi/atof are not threadsafe. I frankly have a hard time imagining a possible implementation of atoi or atof that would not be threadsafe. Does anybody know why the man page says this? Are these functions actually unsafe on OS X or any other platform? And if they are, why on earth wouldn't the library just define atoi in terms of strtol, and therefore be safe?

  • I cannot seem to load an XML document using ASP (Classic), IIS6. Details inside.

    So I am writing a web application for use within my organization. The application requires that it know who the current user is. This is done by calling the Request.ServerVariables("AUTH_USER") function, which works great as long as 'Anonymous Access' is disabled (unchecked) and 'Integrated Windows Authentication' is enabled (checked) within IIS for this subweb. Unfortunately by doing this I get an 'Access Denied' error when I hit the load method of the XML DOM. Example code: dim urlToXmlFile urlToXmlFile = "http://currentwebserver/currentsubweb/nameofxml.xml" dim xmlDom set xmlDom = Server.CreateObject("MSXML2.DOMDocument") xmlDom.async = false xmlDom.load( urlToXmlFile ) ' <-- this is where I get the error! I've looked everywhere and cannot find a solution. I should be able to load an XML file into the DOM regardless of the authentication method. Any help would be appreciated. So far the only two solutions I can come up with are: a) create a new subweb that JUST gets the current user name and somehow passes it back to my XML reading subweb. b) open up security on the entire system to 'Everyone', which works but our IS department wouldn't care for that.

    I'm trying to delete a sub folder in a dws. This is the code I've got: SharepointDocs.DwsSoapClient dws = new SharepointDocs.DwsSoapClient(); dws.DeleteFolderCompleted += dws_DeleteFolderCompleted; dws.DeleteFolderAsync(DWSname+'/'+folderName); In the call back for completion I get no error codes only the message "<Results/>" On the msdn site here, it says this empty message signals a success. However, the folder is still there. Any ideas what could be the problem?

  • jQuery. Treat a string as a HTML document?

    I'm not sure if I worded the title correctly. Basically is it possible to treat a string as HTML as if it was on the page? So I can use $("#elem") and all the other jQuery functions? The HTML is loaded into a string from an ajax request and stored in a string. Instead of using regular expressions to access the data needed is it possible to use jQuery functions? ajaxTextResponse.$("#telephone"); I know the above won't work, but you see what I am getting at.     Hi I have an XML file and would like to run a search on the nodes for text that matches user input. My options are: Convert the XML file to a SQL table and run the search against the table records. Search the XML nodes themselves. The problem is that I cannot find a open source conversion utility, nor can I figure out how to search the XML nodes. I can use PHP, Ruby, or Python for the search code.   • When a tech document states that something is IP-Aware was does that specifically mean?

    I need a class room definition for IP-aware for a research assignment. I.E. something that would be used, lets say, in a dictionary. Does anyone know or provide me with a link to a defintiion, I am having no luck with searches. Are IP-Aware devices only devices that can read/find/make decisions based on IP addresses. For example a router would be one, but a network printer would not?

ErlyWeb is very far along but now seems to be dead. If you were to invest significant capital into a new web product (i.e. not a hobby, you use your own money and you use other's investment in you with expectation of payback), would you choose Erlang as a web platform?     Hello, I have a stored procedure, which has got executed without any errors, but gives me an error "#1054: Unknown column 'templateName' in where clause" when I run it. And whenever I call it, I get the mentioned error. What could the problem be?? It surely is syntactical, I have been reading the mysql manuals for 2 days and have come out without!!     I am creating a UserControl in Silverlight 4 which has a watermarked background. The watermark should change depending on the underlying 'type' the UserControl is representing. The watermark is created using a Path and I have extracted all the properties into a style. I was wondering if it would be possible to change the style of the Path at runtime based on some known value. I am using MVVM and Unity. Perhaps I could bind the style somehow? Or could I inject the style when the view is created? I may have to do this with control templates, hence the reference in the title. Thanks...

    After an AJAX query, a XML file is returned. I'm able to "parse" that file, but when it comes to getting the "innerHTML" (or in this case "innerXML" lol) of an element, I fail. If the XML element, let's say "content", only contained text I could do: content.childNodes[0].nodeValue (assuming that content references the XML element "content"). But that element contains other elements: <stackoverflow reason="tribute to this page"> <content> <div><span><p>Some more HTML elements</p></span></div> </content> </stackoverflow> I need to copy the content of <content> to an existing <div> in the page, how could I do that? Ex. myDiv.innerHTML = content.innerHTML;
